Rate this book
"A worthy read and crafted with such an immersive intimacy of the South you can almost feel the humidity, smell the dirt roads and taste the desperation." —Amazon ReviewIt’s a simple thing, killing a man.

Covering it up…that’s the hard part.

Ex-cop Rolson McKane is a nobody, even in the small Georgia town of Lumber Junction. He's certainly the last person anyone thought capable of solving a brutal murder. But when a dead body turns up in an abandoned building near his property, he is compelled to get involved.

In BOOGIE HOUSE, McKane’s search for a killer thrusts him into a world of small-town corruption.

With the ticking clock and a mother’s grief-stricken pleas driving him, Rolson finds himself tracking a killer hiding more than his identity.

Solving this case might uncover all the town’s darkest secrets. And there are people who would do just about anything to stop that from happening.

Fans of James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux series won’t be able to put down this hardboiled southern mystery.

Thus begins the deeply southern saga of Rolson McKane, which will sweep readers through a grim, brutal journey across the American Southeast in four edge-of-your-seat mystery and crime novels. Fans of James Lee Burke, David Joy, and Cormac McCarthy will be transfixed by the mystery, murder, violence, and grace of its flawed protagonist.1500+ pages of mystery, murder, and action in one complete package.Dive into the series that readers say is "crafted with such an immersive intimacy of the South you can almost feel the humidity, smell the dirt roads and taste the desperation.""If James Lee Burke moved Dave Robicheaux's base of operations to South Georgia and muddied the mysterious waters with some supernatural force, you'd have Braddy's debut novel. I'm looking forward to what Rolson McKane--and Braddy--do next." —Amazon Review"Reminded me of James Lee Burke and John Connolly. Rolson is a very flawed man trying desperately to do the right thing in spite of himself. I can't wait to read the next book." —Amazon Review"Compelling. Stand-alone as the first of the series. Easy to follow and difficult to put down. Not all questions are answered." —Amazon

I can’t finish this series. The first book was very good and well written. But the series has degenerated into a miasma and orgy of sickeningly brutal killing. The search for a brutal murderer in order to achieve justice has degenerated into a descending spiral of viscous garbage. I am deleting it from my Kindle.

Very different type of read. Long at times and I thought repetive . I did enjoy the first book the most and the author held my interest fully. Good read. Very graphic at times and exposed the abuse of illegal women forced into prostitution . Opens your eyes.
