My review and rating is for all three books in the series. As an RH this failed badly for me because the three guys took so long to pull together. Two of them, Zeke and Jaxon, are twin brothers but at odds with each other. Zeke wants Jaxon's territory and is unhappy because Jaxon is alpha of their old pack. He challenged Jaxon and lost, but since Jaxon allowed him to live, he left and formed his own pack -- but he's always scheming for revenge on his brother.

The revenge motive felt so juvenile that it was hard to take him seriously. Meanwhile, Jaxon is attracted to Del, our succubus, but keeps pushing her away because he believes that as alpha, he can only mate with another wolf, he has to keep bloodlines strong, make his pack happy. Plus, he distrusts Del. I didn't like how he made assumptions about Del just because she's a demon. He never thought that she might have been brought to Earth against her will -- after all, she was summoned via a spell. He was so judgmental and contemptuous.

So, did I want either Zeke or Jaxon to be Del's mates? No, I did not. Cooper was cool and I liked him with Del. He really saw her for who she was and accepted her as she was. Zeke wanted to use Del to compel his brother so that he could take over his brother's pack. Did I want such a vengeful person, someone who would go against his brother even though his brother had been merciful to him, to be one of Del's mates? No, of course not.

I liked that Del has her friend Tarzi on her side and is protective of her younger sister. Del isn't a typical succubus and I also liked that she was careful about "feeding" from men, that she didn't want to just use them. The larger plot was interesting and carefully woven, but I just didn't like that the men were enemies. First Zeke captures Jaxon, then Jaxon captures Zeke... putting them in shackles and so on. I like RH because the FMC is always the centre of everything, and the men usually play nicely with each other for her sake. But here, it didn't feel like Del was the centre. She really felt like a side issue altogether as the two brothers battled it out. Really fail in the romance department.

I've been anxiously waiting for this second book to be released! The first book was great but I think this one definitely topped it. The character development, especially with Del and Cooper and their new bond really gave me the feels. I loved how supportive Cooper was with her no matter the situation they found themselves in. He's setting the bar pretty high as of right now. Even going out of his way to help her be able to get back to her sister, and willing to go to hell with her if it comes to it.

Jaxon and Zeke have a lot to make up for in the final book, that's for sure. I will say though, this book puts into light the reasoning behind Zeke's actions even before Del came into the picture. I'll admit it did make me have some sympathy for the guy. It's hard to make important decisions when they aren't your own, and he seemed to really be struggling to be in his own mind for a good chunk of the time in these books.

Jaxon was touch and go for me. It was hard for me to know what he was going to do next because he was fighting the natural feelings his wolf was having yet still wanted to do what was best for his pack. He made me frustrated quite a bit while reading, but I can only hope that he understands that he can have both and still be a great alpha.

You get a little bit of everything in this book. Magic, stories of the history of the pack, tons of steam, action between the rival packs, and probably a good sense of annoyance when the sorcerer continues to be like a cockroach and just won't go down. There's a lot to look forward to in the next book. I'm hoping for some serious redemption and a truce to bring everyone together to take down the baddie.

Del has turned Cooper into quite the alpha. And the chemistry between the two is amazing. This is a wonderful second book, the action picks up, the characters continue to develop. Del has since learning of her mixed background has settled into her succubus and hellhound ways and is a kick ass FMC. She doesn't take crap from anyone, even king alpha hole Jaxon...but he learns that quickly. The action, the character building, the intrigue about the magic from the mountain and the steamy goodness between Del and Cooper and Jaxon is just HOT! Great fun to read, cannot wait for the final book in the trilogy.

This was such a great addition to the series! I love these characters and the premise of this story! We pick up where we left off in the first book and it's a wild ride right to the end. With well developed, intriguing characters, steam and drama, this book sunk its claws and didn’t let go. I really enjoy Del. She just feels relatable and that makes the story that much more captivating. This story moves at a great pace and keeps you entertained all the way through. I am looking forward to more!

Okay, so this second book was much better than the first. I felt like the pacing was better and the development between Del and her men is progressing nicely as well. Two of the three men are locked in. Now we just need the third to fall!

I will say that the kind of sudden turn around for Jaxon was a little wild, but still okay for what the story is. We Stan Cooper.

This is a series in absolutely hooked on! I love Del. Shes bada** and isnt taking anything from anyone any more. Hell hath no fury like a succubus/hell hound woman scorned. Cooper is the perfect mate for her, loving and loyal, and he totally gets all her special needs ;). Jaxson frustrated me so much in this book with his attitude about everything, but I guess that's why hes the alpha-hole. Zeke is someone I'm actually feeling a bit sorry for. I hope when book 3 comes out there is plenty of time for redemption. The story line and plot twists are stellar and kept me invested from start to finish. This is a must read series for sure!!

Loved this book! This book picks up right where the first left off. I really enjoyed the character development and plot of this book. Not to mention the steamy scenes! Hot! I really love Del, she is incredibly relatable. She loves her family and will do anything for them, yet she can be vulnerable. And eeek Jaxon!!! I’m curious to see what happens with Zeke. I also want that sorcerer gone!! He is such a good villain though. Overall I really love this series so far and can’t wait to see what happens next.

What a fantastic follow up to book one, starting right where book one ended. I adored the growth in the characters and in their relationships in this second book. There's drama, hot scenes and lots of adventure. I love Del! There's so much more to this story that just grows and grows throughout this book that engages and enchants. Cali Mann and Freya Black have created a shifter romance book that will sink it's claws into and will have you reading long into the night!

The story is building up to something big. I am enjoying the build up and can’t wait to see what the culmination is going to be. The relationships are also developing. It’s a bit slow but now things are definitely starting to heat up. I’m caring more about these characters and invested in their struggles. I want the next book badly since I want to know what’s going to happen next. Del is one tough woman who won’t take any nonsense from people! And I love getting to see her develop more.

Magic in the mountain

Del and Cooper have formed their mate bond. Unfortunately, they end up caught between the war on the mountain. Zeke and Jaxon see eye to eye on nothing. Jaxon rules strictly. Zeke feels, as the oldest, the mountain should belong to him. The sorcerer, Gabriel, is playing all of them against each other and forcing them to his will. Book ends, once again, on a cliffhanger 😕

Can’t put it down

Fast paced, grasp the edge of your seat read. I want to smack the guys upside the head sometimes except Cooper. Jax and Zeke needs to get the stick out of their butts out and the sorcerer is more of a pain than the group originally thought. Zeke better be groveling hard for that.

I enjoyed this! It followed straight on from the first one, but grabbed me more than the first book did. I found the characters more likeable, and the story was more interesting.

In book 2, the relationship between Del and the wolves evolves, as they come together (some of them reluctantly) to fight a common enemy.

I look forward to the final book in this trilogy, to see how it all works out in the end. I'm sure it won't be easy.

Great read

This was a good addition to the series. The story is getting better as it moves along. Del still hasn't discovered all that she can do yet. I can't wait to see how bad a** she becomes.

Scorned

Book 2. Zeke is controlled by the sorcerer but doesn't quite realize it. That sorcerer is bad and just plain sucked. I don't want to give away too much so pets just say some heads were removed from their hind ends concerning a certain hellhound/succubus.

This series could be a duet

We're getting plenty of story but honestly this series feels like it could be 2 maybe even 1 book. They're very short. But I enjoy the lore and the characters

Good

Del does her best to right wrongs she didn’t make and is super under appreciated. Here’s hoping the wolves change their minds. And Zeke maybe can be redeemed, although he still has very questionable thoughts and motives.

Pulled in a second time...

I have to say I was quite surprised that although this is one of the shorter RH series I've read, the authors manage to explore the story without making it seem dragged out or rushed. Highly recommend!

Del has taken back control and knows what direction to take. She needs Alpha(s) to make that happen, can she succeed. This book had much more focus then the first; I recommend this book.
