游惑和秦究在歷史考試犯規扣分太多，要進行補考，來到一所每晚將全校師生惡夢成真的學校，兩人必須清除這些實體化的惡夢，卻不約而同夢到失憶前的事情，因此出現了還在當大考官A的游惑，以及還是叛逆考生的秦究，彼此身分再無隱瞞。
但秦究無意中發現大考官A曾與某個人過從甚密，讓他非常介意。
接著兩人被強制重考歷史，來到黑死病肆虐的中世紀歐洲，要向遭喪妻喪子之痛的公爵致哀，並想辦法治好村中的病人。他們在此遇到意想不到的故人，更讓游惑和秦究確認了彼此心意。即使雙雙失憶、身分對立，他們最終仍互相吸引……
結束考試後，游惑和秦究湊齊了好人卡，找了老于父子、楚月等人一起組隊，進入數學考場，據說這裡有個不受系統監控的祕密場所。結果場所還沒找到，一覺醒來，所有監考官目瞪口呆地看著一位名叫游惑的考生，竟以一己之力死了五回……
很神奇，他們原本都是獨來獨往不受束縛的人，卻在彼此身上有了牽繫。

The more I read, the more I’m falling for all the characters. Even the supporting characters have been fleshed out (to a certain extent) well enough that we won’t feel disconnected. The story sometimes shows few plot holes but all in all it’s a very engaging plot that will leave you wanting more each day.
At first I was confused with the cover of the novel and thought maybe I had mistaken the novel with another but now that I have finished this arc, I know that it’s You Hou and Qin Jiu on the cover for sure.

WHY DO I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT A SMARTASS IN A LONG COAT

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (literally)
THIS BOOK IS AMAZINGGG!!!!! beside the concept and how the plot unfolds, all the supporting features like small details and pacing are very neat and clean. The plot is amazing, the concept is unique, the description for both the horror situation and othe situations are very clear so it's easy to imagine it. The emotion and tension within was also very lively and it's easier to emphatize with the characters. In which making this book unsurprisingly very page turning.
By their backstory and past slowly unfolded, the two-dimensional You Huo and Qin Jiu in the first book are slowly getting livelier. It's indeed livelier now tho. Besides the fact that their relationship now are developed and so it gets easier to emphatize with them, their personality are also amazable. Lovable. And relatable sometimes. Now that they slowly gaining their memories back and now that they slowly gaining their "feelings" back, they are truly becoming more human and the dimensional trait of them finally uncovered.
Beside them both, other supporting characters are also lively and amazing. And lovable.
This book is certainly 5/5.. every fighting scene, horror scene, thrilling scenes, and the unanswered riddles are amazing.
Damn.... when the hell i'd encounter book as good as this in the future?
