An intriguing suspenseful romance read.
There were some darkish scenes and it had a good pace.
The heroine had some flashbacks, where she was beaten up so often and badly that I was wondering how she could still function.
Regarding the epilogue I would have liked if it was lengthier and not that short. 🤷🏻♀️

What a fantastic debut book!! The action and suspense was spot on. Adored the characters' chemistry too... Camryn and Ryder are serious life goals. I'm flying on to the next book in the series right away!

Wow, what a debut book! I was totally hooked from the very beginning and desperately wanted to find out what happened to Camryn and oh boy, does she have things happen.
Camryn and Blue meet through less than ideal circumstances but nevertheless an instant awareness of each other is sparked. After some months and meeting up again, they find themselves in a whirlwind of events and situations.
The chemistry between the two lead characters is strong and almost tangible. For Camryn, having her past trauma, it was never going to be easy being with someone else, however, Blue’s allure is super strong and with care he was able to break down barriers,
holy moly the old saying about getting back on the horse-yeah it must be true! What I liked was that it wasn’t an immediate thing but more realistically her reactions spoke volumes.
I admired Camryn and was cheering her on so much throughout the book. The emotional turmoil she goes through, I found myself experiencing as well. When she was deliriously happy and excited-that feeling flowed through me, likewise, when she suffered both emotional and physical pain-I felt such heartache for her. Mind you I did for Blue as well, as he too went through such a torrid time. I have to admit though there is a time, not saying when 😉, where I could have shaken them both but mainly Camryn. A sign I was invested in the story and the characters.
This is a darker story because of the nature of the trauma and the evilness of some of the characters, and oh, how rotten they were too! This author knows how to create coldhearted, despicable characters let me tell you.... shudder. Good job, as even now after having some time to think before reviewing they make my skin goosebump. That’s one of the main reasons for the extra half a star-the wonderful descriptions. Another reason is that she is not afraid to throw everything into the story, to have more complications than your average one or two adding to the excitement.
I love romantic suspense stories and am really excited to have discovered a new author, I look forward to reading more from her.

Been excited to read this authors debut book ever since I first heard about it, even more so when I read the blurb. 2020 has seen quite a few talented debut authors, but I just knew this one was going to be different and special.
From the very beginning, clever detailing hooks you in and you instantly become invested, needing to know her story. Her strength and resilience is inspiring to all those stuck thinking there is no way out.
Then she gets those texts... My god, my heart sunk, and all my faith in this debut author was validated. The flashbacks are just as gut wrenching, what she's overcome and tried to move past... No words!
When Blue comes bursting back into her life, will she be able to relax and learn what it's like to be treasured not controlled? Or will it get ripped away from them before it's barely begun. When the monster finally catches up with her, will Blue be able to keep her and those around her safe? Or will more lives be lost...
With all parties involved having secrets and lies, will they be able to put all cards on the table before it's too late? You'll find yourself white knuckling your kindle from cover to cover while being sent on a rollercoaster of emotions with no safety bar.

Amazing debut!
The unknown from the first chapter lured me in and had me wondering about Cam's past, why she was running, and why see knew it would eventually catch up with her. I assumed it would be sordid, but it was absolutely devastating. While strong and snarky on the outside, she was breaking to pieces on the inside.
Then there was Ryder. The man tasked with protecting her while keeping his own secrets close. Their chemistry was off the charts, and while it was often hot/cold between them, Ryder knew when to give Cam the space she needed and when to push.
I absolutely love a good romantic suspense full of twists that really get you thinking, and this book hit all the marks for me. It left me both happily fulfilled by the time Cam & Ryder's story drew to a close, while craving the next in the series.
I highly recommend!

This book hooked me from the very beginning. It was very intense, action packed and extremely emotional....had tears in my eyes a few times. The chemistry between Camryn and Ryder practically radiated from the pages. I can hardly wait to read more from this author.

Packed with action and suspense. This book grabbed me from the very beginning. Even when I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about what was going to happen next. It was so addictive!
Camryn is running from the demons of her past. She’s hoping to make a fresh start in life, when she encounters Ryder. She knows she should be afraid and not want anything to do with him. But something about him calls to her.
Can Ryder save Cam when the devil comes knocking?

I LICKED HIM SO HE’S MINE!
Now that we have that clear, I just have one question, why are there no more pages for me to read? Like, I’m not ok. This book was just too damn AMAZING I NEED, NO, I WANT MORE!!!!!!
Risk, is the debut book by author Imogen Wells and what a debut it is!
I can’t stress enough just how amazing this story was to read. The authors writing style is easy to follow and she makes you feel like you are right there, in the thick of Cam and Blue’s lives.
Now, let’s talk about Camryn Moore.
I want to be her best friend. Like seriously, this chick is so badass it’s not funny. I loved her sassyness and although my heart bled for her and the crappy situation that is her life, I couldn’t help but root for her.
Her pain was undeniably hard to read, and Imogen done a stellar job at showing that although you’ve been dealt a sh*t hand, you can be strong and courageous.
I loved how seamless the two main characters interacted, how effortless their undeniable chemistry was and the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat and needing to read on. You’ll definitely need a box of tissues at the ready.
This entire story had me feeling all the feels and my hangover is still fresh!
This book is definitely going to be one that I reread many times in the future (and by future, I mean, I’m rereading it again right now)
I can’t praise this author enough for this amazing story. And I can’t stress enough just how much you all NEED TO READ RISK!!!!!
You won’t regret it.

Loved this story! I can’t believe this was this authors debut ! Loved the suspense the action the twists and turns the chemistry between Camryn and Ryder was amazing what a thrilling ride Imogen Wells takes us on I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

Wow, wow, WOW!
I can’t believe this is the authors debut!
It was fantastic!
Do take heed of the trigger warnings, there is some very tough subjects bought up in this book - I can tell you now, it’s not going to be all glitter and sparkles.
It wasn’t an easy read. Far from it, it was rough, gritty, raw and bloody heartbreaking.
The stuff Cam went through was insane! Her strength and resilience shows throughout the book.
“... We all have demons, but they deserve to find their other half too.”
and hers certainly did, in a very pretty package.
The chemistry is high, the drama and tension is extreme. The twists and turns this story takes you on is absolutely amazing.
I picked the twist quite early on but that’s just because I seem to have a knack for it. It will probably shock quite a few people, but it really does serve the bigger picture.
I can’t wait to read more from this author!

An amazing debut full of dark gritty thrilling romance
What a debut! Not your typical romance. This is dark and gritty filled with broken characters facing their demons while trying to move on. It has suspense and mystery and yet still a romantic quality that heats up quick and becomes scorching!
If this is any indication of what is to come from Imogen Wells, you better write this name down and follow her everywhere because the next book is going to be explosive!
These are characters you can not forget. Stories that are realistic and yet terrifying. Undeniable love that burns bright. Absolutely the best debut I have ever read and highly recommend to become an instant 1 clicker!

Amazing debut outing from Author Imogen Wells!!
Wow! If I didn’t know for sure that Imogen Wells was a debut author, I wouldn’t have believed that this was her first book. Her writing is completely descriptive and witty without onerously boring detail, and I was addicted from the word go. I begrudged every interruption called life and work that came between me and my goal to get this book read!
I’m not going to comment on the blurb except to say this romantic suspense was one well put together book that hooked me from the start. Holy crap on a cracker, it was amazing and there was no stone left unturned, the smallest details were important, and nothing went unnoticed.
Camryn Moore was a woman to be admired. While she saw herself as damaged and unlovable, Ms Wells honoured her survival story with enough heart-breaking detail for us to absolutely appreciate her bravery while letting us see the true psychotic depravity of the man she’d mistakenly assumed had initially loved her. He treated women like cattle to be abused, traded and sold, and he treated Camryn the same way. But, after aid in escaping, through unconditional support, counselling, and understanding love from someone who’s on been on a similar road of loss, it was awesome to see movement toward healing.
I could go on forever about Ryder ‘Blue’ Hawkins. Risk is written my favourite dual POV and I loved being in his head as he changed from being ambivalent about a job to caring about the woman in his protection and passionate about her survival. I’ll even admit, I most adored this ex-military man when he let his inner demons run free in one scene. His background of loss and trauma puts him in the unique position to understand much of what Camryn has been through; to a point. The rest he will work with his guys to raze the perpetrators to the ground.
The chemistry, the steam, the suspense and romance, Imogen Wells has truly packed a punch and put her best literary foot forward in her first published outing, and I highly recommend that anyone who loves reading gets in at the ground floor of this debut author’s journey. She’s already working on book two, and I know I’m not the only one hounding her for more words. 5 Stars! 🖤

Its not very often I'm left speechless!!... but thats exactly what imogen Wells has done, i could never find the words to describe just how good this book is and its her freaking DEBUT.....
Ahh the feels in this story are heartbreaking and raw and so full of emotion, the author writes the thoughts and feelings of camryn so perfectly that you feel her pain and anguish right to you very core.
"You're not broken, your here, still standing, still fighting. Don't let you're past stop you from taking a risk"

This is a strong first novel from Imogen Wells, falling into the romantic suspense category. It was fast paced where it needed to be but also allowed for a slow unravelling of the story, and it was a good storyline. The first chapter or so was a bit jumpy, but she eventually found the right pacing. I also felt the sex scenes needed some work, as they didn’t always flow well. Overall a good first release!

For a debut novel this was really good and definitely kept my attention throughout. Ryder and Camryn were instantly attracted to each other while protecting there own secrets. This was jam packed with twists and turns around every corner and looking forward to more from this author

Oh my I loved how the attraction developed between these two, it was clear from the start that something was going to give and those lines would be crossed.
You are thrown right into the storyline with Cam and quick to follow her journey, knowing elements of her past as the story goes on which gives you more understanding of Cam’s character. This story is brutal as Cam has endured a very dark twisted past but, the need to fight is strong and survive not to stay the victim anymore.
I loved her character, how her true character was able to come back and grow allowing her needs to be answered in ways she never thought she needed.
Ryder sees more than just the scars on Cam, if anything they make the beast inside restless want to rip apart anyone that dares touch her again. Ryder is protective and makes Cam feel safe, which is something she’s never felt before.
The emotions are very strong and with chapters that will leave you breathless wanting to read more of what will happen next. This story has an underlining dark edge that you may not have seen coming- I certainly didn’t and loved the surprise of the twists that appeared.

Wow! A real emotional rollercoaster ride to healing and love. Camryn Moore is her new name .She knows if he finds her she's dead or will be praying for death.When Kasey showed up to a fancy house she thought maybe it's a mistake.She almost falls but her arms she's caught but almost had a panic attack.Blue his eyes are the most beautiful blue the man is smoking hot he calls her Bambi an then a little boy comes running out an they take off.Another hot muscle bound man comes up to her an says my name is Rick an Taylor told me you were coming. This is the 1st on a new series as well as being a debut from this author, and what a story this is. Camryn is sassy and has trauma from her past. Ryder /Blue is determined to break through her barriers, and the chemistry between them is intense and undeniable. When Camryn’s past comes back to haunt her will Ryder be able to protect and keep her safe? This is a well written flawless story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, as well as having twists, secrets, lies, and love. This plot is intricate and in-depth with engaging characters. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend for all. This is certainly an author to look out for in the future!

I went into this book blind, deciding to let the story speak to me rather then listen to others and I’m so glad I did! Wow was I not expecting it and damn what a good book! I noticed in the back that the author is described as a dark romantic suspense author and I think that’s perfect! This book was dark, romantic (more steamy then romantic but I’m not complaining) and suspense, there was so much of it! Edge of your seat, holding your breath uncertain what’s happening next, this book had me hooked from the beginning right until the very end.

Wow to say that this is imogens debut book you would never know, you would think shes had her hand in multiple by yhe sheer brilliantness of these words.
My heart is still in my mouth and I finished it 2 DAYS AGO!! There isn't enough words to explain how good this book is, The raw passion that went into these pages is awe inspiring.
Full of heart break, love and lust this book brought it all and my god i lived for it.

Imogen Wells is a new to me author and I honestly can’t believe this is her debut book. I’ve seen this book around and I’m so glad I finally picked it up.
This book was packed full of suspense, it had me hooked from the very beginning. I didn’t want it to end. The story was brilliant, I loved the pace of the book. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say.
I now am going to find every book she’s ever written cause I need more of her writing! This is a must read and Imogen Wells has now found herself a new stalker, and I mean that in the nicest way possible 😉

If I could rate this book higher I would. For a first book by this author she did an amazing job. I loved Ryder and Camryn. What a fantastic couple. Of course I loved the other characters as well. I actually hope to read Jamie's story as well. If you like high intensity, faced paced, a lot of steamy scenes than this book is for you. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for future books by this author.

You know I'm a sucker for a good romantic suspense and Imogen Wells did NOT disappoint! I CANNOT believe this is her debut novel! Risk was a read full of so many twists & turns, heartbreak, action, undeniable chemistry and one amazing storyline that will have you white knuckling your kindle and staying up wayyy past your bedtime! Camryn & Ryder were pure perfection! & I cannot say enough how absolutely wonderful Risk is & I'm super excited for what's next from the Triple R Security Series!

This was an amazing debut novel by this author. Cameryn and Rider were amazing and what I like about this story was you were on the edge of your seat waiting for what was coming next. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put this down. This was a great read, it was high intensity, steamy and suspenseful. I received a copy of this book.

What a amazing debut book this author has written.with this read you would think this author has been around a long time and I simply cannot belive it is her first ever book.this book is amazing and has everything I both love and enjoy in a read.and the plus its written perfectly i simply cannot wait to see where this brand new author goes but I reckon this will one to keep an eye on

Reading this story, you wouldn't think that this was the author's debut novel. This story kept me engaged the whole time. I just had to see how Cam was going to overcome the tragedy her life had brung and how the dark and hot Blue was going to help her along. The side characters and their banter was on point, hellllo Seb, and I can't wait to see where she takes these characters further.

Can Blue get Camryn to tell him about her past before it catches up with her, he knows who’s after her but not why and he needs to know everything to ensure her safety, Blue is a patient man but does he have enough time before her past finds her.

It started off strong and damn did it draw me in. The darkness that consumes Cam from her past made me feel vulnerable for her. However, she is such a strong woman even when she doesn’t realise it. That same strength kept me on my toes. Especially when Blue was involved. I was hooked on every single word. Every challenge. And their desirable connection was through the roof, rock ya socks off, HOT!!
I didn’t get half way before buying and preordering books two and three.
I highly recommend this read.
