Truly spectacular history of roller coasters that digs deep enough to make you want to learn more. It does stop at the millennium, but it is a great resource for anyone wanting a sold and well done treatise on the roller coaster phenomenon and those who brought us some of the greatest coasters ever.

Interesting history of the roller coaster from the late 1800’s until 2000. Lots of pictures. Tends to repeat itself in the text a lot by referencing the same coasters and aspects of those coasters again and again. Good description of the technology developed and the evolution of the rides.
