One prisoner, three warring, psychotic princes, and ninety days to choose between them . . . Or claim them all

Totemic Wolves rule the north.
Fenrir Wolves rule the west.
And Lycans rule the east.

As the lone Bitten faction, we’re considered a dying race. Relegated to the dry south, we’re predicted to only last a few more years before complete annihilation.

Until the three gangs that rule our city -- unbeknownst to the humans -- offer an ultimatum: ME for our pack’s survival.

I have ninety days to choose a husband from one of the very wolf packs that ridicule and kill us for sport.
Ninety days to choose the man I wish to spend the rest of my life with.

From the cold-blooded werewolf prince, to the playboy feral, to the aloof Lycan.

These men...

They think I’m prey -- nothing more than a plaything for them to discard.

They’re going to find out that I’m their queen, their alpha, and it’s time they bow to me.

This is a reverse harem romance featuring one badass female lead and three sexy, possessive werewolf princes. It contains an enemies-to-lovers theme, strong language, and sexual situations. This story will conclude in "Ripped to Shreds".

Note:
Although this is the third book in the multi-author series, Kingdom of Wolves, it can be read as standalone (i.e. you do not need to read any of the other stories in the collection to enjoy this book!)
"Torn to Bits" is also the first book in author Katie May's
Shifter Reverse Harem Duet and has a sequel, "Ripped To Shreds" that concludes the storyline. (This is the second in the book in Katie May's Shifter Reverse Harem Duet, and the eighth book in the multi-author series, Kingdom of Wolves)

*** SOMEWHAT SPOILERS*****I try so hard to enjoy Katie May’s writing, but I just cannot. I have struggled with each and every one of her books. The synopsis is always interesting but the actual writing is disappointing. There are always a lot of background details that are missing which makes the book seemed rushed. Furthermore, the FMC always (ALWAYS) comes across as weak to me. She starts as what you would expect, but then she completely changes. For example, the female in this book is literally an “assassin” and “spy” and yet her hypocritical ass is judging other characters for killing people. She also acts like she didn’t kill someone in very beginning of the book. Like wtf? Why is she acting like a damsel in distress? Also the men come off as childish. Instead of all them working together to take over the corrupted alphas, they are freaking lying down in their own torture chambers and isolating themselves........To conclude, it was rushed, the female changed to a whole other person, the men were weak, and the sex sucked. I am sorry, but this was the final straw with Katie May. I tried.

Not for me

I wouldn't say this is a bad book, but I myself didn't like it. The idea of the H being a assassin is so out the realm of possibilities I'm not sure why it's said and mentioned at all. She has weapons, and goes out once to destroy a shipment, where do we get this stretch? Blair shows no sign of being this tough killer at all in this entire book. The hate she feels for these other wolfs, I'm also conflicted and confused? she hates them all? But is it just the fathers? Yes she goes around saying how she hates them, and acts out like a immature child towards them. But even though it's said by the H, her character doesn't really act as much as implied. The entire book is really about nothing entirely until 85% when she ends up sleeping with on of the guys, which just happens to happen. Im a bit disappointed seeing as this book was short as it was and the author didn't take that writing time writing more information about the wolf's, the many differences, what started the hate? I also have a big issue with this author writing in a character that never lives up to the personality she's trying to portray.

So to start off this is a shared world series, Kingdom of Wolves, with different authors. Each author has put their own twist on the world and it may be a standalone or can continue as that authors own series within the world. This is the first book I've read in the shared world. It's going to be pretty hard to follow because I loved this story.

Katie May has given us a RH with 3 guys. We actually get a few chapters from each guys POV which I have always enjoyed. The FMC is pretty badass she is a Bitten wolf, could be the Alpha of her pack, but instead prefers to stay in the shadows as an assassin and spy. The guys are each the"prince" of their packs and have been put up as contenders for Blairs hand. Blair consented to this to save her people, because in this world the Bitten are hunted.

There are several things I truly liked about this and find it not the norm for RH. The guys are all enemies, she spends 30 days with each guy then she chooses, so we get to know them one at a time, not all at once. Spoiler.......................

She doesn't know she is the mate to the men, but each man knows she is their mate and thinks they have a leg up over the others.🤣🤣
I have always liked Katie's writing style, I find her dialogues humorous and she moves the plot along at a great pace.

5 star read all the way for me.

I loved this book! I went into it without any expectations and was blown away by this world. The book is centered around our FMC who is a Bitten wolf - which is considered the lowest ranked wolf on the totem pole. As such, she’s grown up hardened and takes no bullshit from others, even is they’re from the opposite packs that are known for their brutality (cough cough, blood skulls). At the yearly meeting she decided to go as a representative for her pack and is faced with three princes, each from (you guessed it) the other packs, all vying for her hand in marriage. However, this engagement isn’t for love, it’s for power, and if we’ve learned anything about our FMC, it’s that she might be from a lesser pack, but that doesn’t make her less powerful. Each pack wants her, and for the next 90 days she will go from pack to pack, spending 30 days with each prince before having to decide who to marry. Obviously this is reverse harem, so we all ‘ow she’ll end up with multiple men, but for right now she’s with just Vincent Davenport. I’ve already fallen for him, so I’ll be very curious to see how she gets along with Tai and Marcus, the other two men. Would definitely reread and am already looking out for the release date of book two!

Interesting start.
A little slow. I felt like I was just continually waiting for things to start happening.
So hopefully the second book has all the stuff I was waiting for.
I did enjoy reading this. The storyline is pretty dang cool, and I’m honestly intrigued as hell.
This was a good intro and beginning of a middle, I’m just eager to get on with it. I want to know how the hell this all works out.

wonderful

Epically Katie May, woven into a larger universe that you don’t actually have to read, though you probably should. This is pay one of two, though it seems only part one is included in the series order.

A RH, though the main characters don’t know it yet. I love that trope, and May pulled it off well.

Looking forward to next book

Great start to a new series, can't wait until book 2.
I've read a couple of Kingdom of Wolves so far, and this one occurs in the same universe as the Silver Falls University series, only in this city, Bitten Wolves are looked down on and hunted.
Blair, our female pretty bitten wolf is dangerous in her own right and can't help be outspoken. She is put in the situation of having to spend 1 month with each of the other packs in the city to choose a husband from among her enemies in order to save her pack, not knowing that each of her potential husbands are her mates. Book 1 covers her first month, so I imagine that book 2 will encompass month 2.
The author does provide lots of clues along the way so the big reveals so far weren't too shocking. I have a pretty good suspicion about the identity of Grunt which will be undoubtedly revealed in the next book.
And lastly, quick mention of Valentina, Vincent's twin sister. Something tells me that Katie May is a J Bree fan, because the similarities between Valentina and Avery Beumont from the Hannaford Prep series can't be coincidence. Not criticising at all, I thought Valentina was a great character.

I put off reading this one because I'm always a little hesitant at MC books, and I need to be in the right mood for dark reads... which was needless, because there's nothing particularly dark about this book. Don't get me wrong, it isn't roses and sunshine, but I didn't find any of it particularly heavy hitting. It was actually pretty fun, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶🌶🌶.5
- SLOOOOW burn
- shifters/wolves
- why choose
- enemies to lovers
- found family
- MC/mafia-ish
- all grumpy no sunshine 😅

This Duet is sooooo gooood!!

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I wanted so much more.

The ending felt rushed.🥺

I wanted more of their life after fixing things. I want to see Val and his chemistry. I want to see Mason with his mom. I want MORE 😫

It also would have had a 4 for spice but the ending scene was the ONE we were waiting for and it faded to black 😱😭

I loved the storyline even though the slow burn was TORTURE.

I cant find anymore books by her in this world but I've reached out to confirm.

Great beginning

This is the start of a brilliant series I can tell, I love Blair, she is so kick @ss take no prisoners kind of girl and she ll do anything to protect those she cares about. Blair will do almost anything to protect her family even if that means Sacrificing herself for 90 days to each of the ruling 3 packs in order to decide Who she will marry. But she's not going down without a fight,Mason, Tai and Vincent have now met their match in more ways than one. Well written with a few saucy tippets along the way along the way looking forward to rest of the story.

Very slow

The book was good and the story had potential but I felt like it fell flat at times. The FMC is a strong independent woman who can fight and kill and the whole book focused on her being boring and trapped in a house with a guy she is forced to date. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen, a fight or a battle or some kind of action but it never came. I really hope the next book picks up and is more exciting because the characters and potential drama are super interesting but the “forced dating” storyline is boring compared to the gang war they could focus on.

I am someone who cannot read bully books (for those of you unfamiliar with the genre, it's kind of like enemies to lovers, google it) because they trigger me. What I love about Katie May's books is that I get all the enemies-to-lovers without the parts that trigger me!

Our heroine, Blair, is a bitten wolf in a city ruled by three other warring factions of wolf shifters--the Lycans headed by the ice-cold Davenport twins Vincent and Valentina, the Fenrirs headed by the Bloody Skulls MC leader Grim and his VP and son Mason, and the Totemics headed by Sarai. The one thing they all have in common? They all hate the bitten wolves, treat them like scum. Blair is an alpha though, and spies for her people. But right before the annual summit of all the packs to deal with territory disputes, Blair sees Vincent and Valentina Davenport while on a job, and then her camp is attacked by the Totemics' prince, Tai, who demands she attend the summit. She attends with the leader of the bitten wolves, Papa Grayson, who comes every year determined to gain more rights for bitten wolves who are being murdered in the street. What she doesn't expect? for Valentina Davenport to show up and demand she marry her brother in return for Davenport protection of the bitten wolves. Unsure of Blair's importance but not wanting to let her go without a fight, Grim and Sarai demand she marry their sons, Mason and Tai. It's agreed she will spend 30 days with each guy (Vincent, Mason, and then Tai), after which she will choose a husband...if she can.

I really like the unique setup to the whole shifter/reverse harem thing. I haven't seen this before and I've seen a lot of plot devices reused recently, so this was refreshing.

Blair is feisty and I absolutely loved her humor and tenacity. 10/10 would recommend this book!

One check of a ride

I loved this new world that's been created just for us readers, a story that had me hooked from the very start with the story of Blair who will do anything keep her pack safe, even if it's having to deal with three incredible hot shifters from each tribe who are equally as dangerous as the next but Blair finds her self drawn to them but doesn't understand why. I found Blair bad ass and able to take care of her self and I found my self loving Vincent even thought he killer people for a living and you get a glimpse to why he dose it and you just can't help but liking him and I can't wait to read what will happen next in Blair's journey as she has new changes to face.

Signed book; RH Shifter; 3rd in world series; 1st in series

The city is divided into 4 areas; bitten wolf, Fenrir, Totemic, and Lycans. The bitten are looked down and preyed upon by all the other wolves. Blair is a bitten. She and her Alpha attend a meeting of all four wolf types. She winds up agreeing to date one man from each camp in order to get them to stop preying on her people. All 3 of the men she agrees to date realize she is their fated mate, but she doesn't realize this. This first book in this series in this shared world focuses on Blair and Vincent.

I loved this book. My favorite character might just be Valentina, Vincent's twin sister. She's a magnificent, conniving, Queen of manipulation. And a very lonely wolf.

I can't wait to get started on the next book!

I can’t wait for the next book! This fast paced addition to the Kingdom of Wolves is so very different from the ones before it. We get to see a side of the world briefly covered at in Lost were bitten are bottom of the hierarchy. We get a good dose of mafia and MC along side the various types of wolves giving us a bit of everything. Blair is a boss and she knows it, I love a strong FMC. I love the blossoming friendship with Valentine and hope to see more. The only conflict I had was that some breeds of the wolves were stated didn’t have fated mates in previous books in the shared world, but did in this one which was confusing. Nonetheless I’m eager for more 🤩

An excellent addition to the shared world and a fantastic start to a new duet ! Katie May bring us a story of mafia and gangs like you’ve never seen before ! The shifters have a fresh take , and I’m loving it ! Blair is a strong , snarky , but most importantly, relatable FMC , and her guys are all unique . You don’t really see the full harem formed in this book ( which I actually liked ) so it’s still a mystery who all is included , I’m seriously looking forward to book 2 !

Wow, just wow.

I have not read much by Katie May, but this book far exceeded my expectations! The characters and angst has you so frustrated with everyone that you want to scream even as it reels you at the same time. This story is well thought out, characters are very dynamic, and I love that the world is so cohesive since I also read M. Sinclair's book that is set in the same world. Because of that cohesiveness, I cannot wait for all the other author's books to come out to see just how they spin their tales of the Kingdom of Wolves! 💜

Can’t get enough of the characters in this book. Love that the FMC is no pushover and she owns her own twisted mentality. The alphas are swoon worthy with their fierceness and I can’t wait to read more.

I am literally torn. I like this book. I liked it immensely. Even if there were things and flaws, I don't like very much. And I try to rate objectively. But as often... Nothing is pure objective. So, I mention everything.

At first, I give the book 4 stars. There may be parts I don't like. But I incline to dismiss personal taste. Cause the book itself isn't bad and has unique features. It has a plot and there aren't as much sexual content than in other books I have read (the only sexual encounter is around 85 - 90 % of the book). I do enjoy it, that I don't have to read a sex scene every few pages. The characters are - I would say - the usual candidates. It's difficult to create a character that never has been. So that's not a problem. As long as the characters are distinguishable. And that they are. They have their motives, their own traits, and they are believable. Of course, not perfect and don't live up all the time.

But I can't say that I liked Blair that much. That's a problem I have often with Katie May's females. Don't get me wrong. I like a fierce and badass female lead. But the author, as far as I have gathered from other books from her, always has this type of female.

And they always annoy me. All her characters are mostly mouthy. They don't think, before they act. They are judgmental. Furthermore, they deny as much as possible. And often some of their stories doesn't fit. I don't like that much in a female character. Why can't they be badass, but thoughtful? More reasoning? She hates and judges the princes of the three wolves fractions. Based on their fathers. Without any proof, they actually did something or are like that what she thinks of them. Okay, I get it partially. She has bad experiences with some wolves. And based on that, I get it, that she has trust issues. But that don't justify to say all of them are bad. Some simply aren't. And she hates to be judged herself by others because she is a bitten wolf. That doesn't make sense to me. She acts very immature towards them and others. I can't remember if her age is mentioned. But she is stated as an adult. So that doesn't fit.

Another point I couldn't agree with, was the fact that she is mentioned to be some badass assassin/spy. We only see an act on the beginning. And the rest is only told during the story. But there are a lot of situations that doesn't match the reputation. And that doesn't feel authentic.

And I didn't like that we got not so much information how all the wolves came into being. Why the differences are there at all. And why do they hate each other. And the bitten wolves? I don't get it. Because apparently the bitten wolves are a product of the other wolves?

But I hope I get to hear about that more in the next book. This was a solid read and I enjoyed it. That's all that counts.

This is supposedly the third book in the RH shifter romance series and already I DNF the second book because the author is so very bad at writing what could have been a good story. This 3rd book was written by a different author so I had hopes that it would be more enjoyable. However, I already didn’t like the female MC who seems so crass that I can’t relate to her: “I ignore my body’s visceral reaction towards the sound and mentally chastise my vagina for being a shameless hussy. You’ll have some dick in you soon, girl. Don’t worry. You don’t want that mobster’s cock, anyway.” Ug. Blessedly she stops with the crass inner dialog and becomes more of a tender hearted badass. The story starts to pick up a bit when the beta of a rival pack is introduced and violence ensues, but so does attraction and a possible mate connection. I like the premise of the story where Blair the female MC agrees to give up her freedom to save her people by spending a month with, and then choosing between 1 of 3, pack leaders as wife to one. Katy May does a good job of slowly building the sexual tension and unique relationships within all the characters. I also like how well she develops each personality. At almost 80% of the story, I am on Team Tia, only because Vincent who was the pack leader she spent the majority of her time with, doesn’t seem interested in winning her much in any way, and Mason seems a bit immature and kind of dumb. Tia is the only one who put himself in danger to protect Blair, so far in the story. Although the girlfriend relationship with Vincent’s twin sister and Blair is endearing, it does not make for a good enough reason to choose Vincent. He seems too introverted and brooding. Though in the end we all learn that he is her fated mate. Though some of the writing is a bit over the top with descriptions of emotions, and some situations are a smidge extreme, I am looking forward to the conclusion of this story in the next book of the series. I am hoping that the story concludes in just one other book and doesn't drag it out to more.

Interesting concept but rushed pacing

This one is a bit tough to rate. I would say 3.5 stars but I can't make myself round it up to 4. The storyline is interesting enough with the three different gangs and their brewing war, and the issues of the "bitten" wolves and the poverty and discrimination they face, not being "pure breeds". I always gravitate towards a strong fmc, which we do have in this series, and I probably like her character the best though I'm not super invested in her. I think where I struggled a bit to connect with this story was that it feels like the character and world building were rushed. Too much telling and not enough showing going on. It also has one particular friendship relationship in it that gives me similar vibes to a friendship from another series that I can't help but compare the two and find this one very lacking. For example, there are twins in this story, a brother an sister, and they have both been broken by their father and the girl has grown up to be this beautiful and terrifying "ruler", constantly on her phone ruining her enemies. She makes friends with the fmc who is more of a badass fighter. That relationship kept reminding me of Lips and Avery from the Hannaford Prep series except this relationship is not nearly as well fleshed out and there is no real chemistry between the two fmc's. The pacing of the story feels too fast for the relationships the author is trying to setup and without that necessary time to see the chemistry develop, I'm not able to connect with these characters. Bottom line, I generally enjoy reads by this author but this one just didn't land for me. I am still curious how her forced month with each of the other two H's will go so I may pick up the second installment when it releases, but more likely I will have completely forgotten this series by then.

3.5 stars rounded up

I really enjoyed this book! It was a great addition to the Kingdom of Wolves world.

I really enjoyed Blair, I thought she was fierce. I would’ve liked to see her in action a bit more though. I also don’t understand why she doesn’t recognize her mates, and is something the guys wondered as well in their POV chapters. I hope that’s brought up in the future.

This book focuses mostly on her month with the Davenports, so I believe future books will spend time with Mason and the Bloody Skulls and then Tai and the Totemic Tribe. I’m intrigued as to how the others will react when they find she’s been technically claimed. I really did like the jealousy they all share, and that they become stalkers lol. I love psycho and protective guys (in books, of course lol.)

Valentina reminded me of Avery Beaumont from Hannaford Prep in the best way, and I hope to see more of her in future books, even if the focus isn’t on the Davenports! I also hope to see her find her mate as well!

The world of the different factions of werewolf is interesting, even if I don’t fully understand why some can’t shift and why some are more connected to their wolves than others.

I do wish there had been a bit more interaction on page between Blair and Vincent while she was at his house, I feel like there were time jumps where they interacted even minimally and there could’ve been just a bit more to solidify them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for book 2!

Starting off by saying that most of what I disliked about this book was personal preference, and I'm sure there is an audience out there that would enjoy this book. It just wasn't for me.

I was looking for a paranormal RH and was left extremely disappointed by the end of this. There were a few good moments that had me holding on to hope that it would get better (and I honestly assume that everything I was waiting for happens in book 2), but my patience has completely run out. Don't get me wrong, I love a good slow burn...emphasis on good. The tension in these relationships felt forced and awkward, and it doesn't help that I did not believe the FMC for a single moment when she said she was attracted to them. I don't know, maybe it's back to the basic "show, don't tell" but I wasn't even convinced that these characters hated each other. The whole premise is enemies to lovers fated mates RH goodness, but I was severely underwhelmed by all of the characters and their interactions.

Also - and I am fully aware of how nitpicky this sounds - there is a scene where a romance novel is referenced (something I'm grudgingly getting used to in this genre), but the FMC spends a paragraph talking about Katie May. I think the author was going for cheeky/funny, but it came across awkward and stilted (which seems to be a recurring thought I have about the writing in general). It lessened my enjoyment of the story, and I already wasn't enjoying it.

I’m sad to say that this duet just didn’t work for me. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the FMC, I found her to be combative, self-righteous, and judgemental. She was repeatedly pointing out how she’s not-like-other-girls, whilst doing the exact thing said “other girls” do. This isn’t to say that I hated her, just that I didn’t love her.

The MMCs were underdeveloped outside of their connection to the FMC, which is sad as they had a lot of depth to add to the story as individuals.

The politics and dynamics of and amongst the four separate wolf groups was chaotic. I haven’t read any other books in this shared world, and whilst the foreword states that this shouldn’t be an issue as ”each author has put her own twist on the wolves and world,” it felt like I had missed important world building.

I really liked this book. I’m loving the Kingdom of Wolves series with the writers and it’s helped me find new authors who I will continue to read long after this world and it’s characters are done.

Apparently some people don’t like that Blair is an assassin because she only does one assassin job in this book. It’s not like she can be an assassin for her pack when she is spending a month alongside the 3 other packs.

I love seeing the POV from Blair and all the boys and I was expecting to only see the POV of the boy whose pack she was staying in but we still see the Mason and Tai’s POV’s when she is with Vincent.

I’m interested to see if she can convince Mason and Tai to challenge their Alpha for the title and win and will be interesting to see if she only chooses one mate or all 3 to bring pease among the different wolves.

From what I can see the next book is also the last so this will be the first of the Kingdom of Wolves book series that has been finished and we don’t have to wait for the next book.

I actually really liked Vincent and Valentina because it goes to show that looks can be deceiving. Slightly confused when we find out who killed her family and turned her because I thought only bitten wolves could turn a human into a bitten but I could be wrong but that’s the impression I have from the other authors and their takes on the Kingdom of Wolves universe.

I started reading this because it said each book was a standalone, but this is most definitely NOT a standalone! Ugh, unfortunately I really enjoyed this and want the rest of the story but now I have to wait for the next one.

This first part of the story is Blair and Vincent's story, though it's obviously unfinished!
Blair spends a month with the Davenports-as per the arrangement made at the summit. Her being a bitten wolf puts her in the 'lowest' of the packs. In exchange for protection for her pack, she agrees to spend a month with the heir of each pack and pick a husband by the end of the third month. Thing is, apparently all three heirs believe her to be their fated mate and Blair's none the wiser. So now that the first month is up, how will Mason get his shot when Vincent has already left his mark? And then what about Tai? On top of it all, there is a silent war brewing and tensions are very high. To go back on an agreement can mean death for all those involved. But who will be the first to break? Alliances are being made and it may not be a good thing for those on opposing sides.

I need to find out the rest. Next book, please!
