I vowed to protect my brother and my pack at all cost, but this time the debt for the protection might be my life.

A war between my pack and the witches is long in the making. They’d do anything to destroy us. When a close ally is nearly killed by them, Josh goes rogue and retaliates. It’s not without deadly consequences.

While I’m handling the mayhem that’s threatening to destroy my brother and pack, an Alpha from another pack is causing havoc in the only thing in my life that isn’t a wreck—my relationship with Sky.

But losing Sky to another man becomes the least of my worries when her spirit shade forces her to cast a dark spell over the pack. Now I fear I might have to choose one: Sky’s life or my pack?

Moon Fated is Ethan’s POV of Moon Cursed (Sky Brooks Series: Book 5) with added scenes and storylines. It can be read alone, but reading Moon Cursed first will enhance your reading experience.

McKenzie Hunter is the author of urban fantasy, dark fantasy, and paranormal romance books. She discovered early that new adventures were just a page-turn away; all she had to do was read a book. She’s had her share of escapades from hanging out with vamps, joining the chaos of shifter packs, creating spells with witches, and avoiding deals with the fae.

When she isn't working on her next book, she’s reading, binge-watching TV, or disappearing into her own world during nature walks (probably on the lookout for magical beings—or maybe not).

Stand alone or companion novel?

As long as this series has been written, it has felt like its own series that coincides with the Sky Brooks novels. I read them in tandem, usually switching back and forth when the timelines of the two main characters converge at some big event, and that has worked for me. Its like reading a large dual POV novel. The two different authors give them two very distinct voices and it has been great. Not so much with books 5, however. This time, the Ethan novel did not feel like its own story, but a complimentary novel written by the same person. There were multiple times when descriptive words, phrases, and even whole paragraphs were exactly used when talking about a character or situation. One example that comes to mind is when both Ethan and Sky refer to Quell as a misanthropic vampire steeped in mystery in their own internal dialogue. It made the novel feel very cut and paste, which is a shame, because this storyline was a good one for Ethan. It just got bogged down in feeling like Sky was trying to tell the story in his voice for him. The storyline is why I'm giving it three stars instead of less.

Summary
Moon Fated is Ethan’s POV of Moon Cursed (Sky Brooks Series: Book 5) with added scenes and storylines. It can be read alone, but reading Moon Cursed first will enhance your reading experience.
Things in the Midwest pack seems to be going from bad to worse. In the hunt for a human pack member the ranking weres discover a deadly alliance between the witches and mages has been formed. Ethan and the pack discover a formula which will give their advisories a greater advantage over them in battle.
A curse, cause by Maya, Sky’s spirit shade threatens the lives of the entire werewolf species if it can’t be reversed in time. This brings all the ranking shifters form neighbouring packs together to work together on a solution which involves some pretty powerful magic, putting both Sky and Josh’s livers on the line.
But this isn’t the only thing setting Ethan on edge. Cole, an Alpha from the West Coast, has his sights set on Sky. His interference in their relationship causes tensions to form between the couple, threatening to tear them apart.
Will the Midwest pack come out of this victorious and at what cost? And will Cole be able to tear apart the new relationship between Ethan and Shy?

Review
I have been waiting on this release for a while now and it was well worth the wait! Moon Fated is everything I wanted from Ethan’s POV and more. With the change in Author midway through the series I was nervous about the continuity of the story. But I should have trusted McKenzie’s judgement!! This has been the best book from Ethan’s POV so far! (So good I really want books 1-4 rewritten lol!!)
From Sky’s POV, Ethan is this overbearing aplhahole who is determined to get others to see ‘the reality he wants them to see’. And to some degree this statement is true. But in this book, we see that all Ethan really wants to do is protect those he cares most about as well as the pack.
Ethan feels a lot more than we would expect from his character. Every decision he makes is either to protect Josh, Sky or the pack. I couldn’t believe when he disagreed with Sebastian over Sky’s emotional state! I was so shocked! They show such a united front when dealing with any pack issues, I honestly didn’t think they would disagree to the point of raised voices. Boy was I wrong! It was so refreshing to see this different side him.
His feeling for Sky run so much deeper than we see during her books. Sky seems unsure about the true depth of his feeling for her. He actually told her previously he didn’t do relationships. His encounters were more of the ‘no-strings’ kind. Sky seems to be waiting on the inevitable whereas Ethan wants a lot more from this relationship than his previous ones.
I love the animosity between Ethan and Cole. It was amazing to read the encounters from another perspective and to be privy to meetings we didn’t see from Sky’s book. I love to hate Cole, more so then Demetrius. You know what Demetrius is and he has no problem in sharing his hostility towards the pack whereas Cole is an enemy from within. He seems to want to destroy everything Sebastian and Ethan have built, just to be able to rise to power.

Overall
I better stop there before this turns into a thesis! This is one amazing book and like all the others I am left wanting to find out more from Ethan. Seeing Sky and pack life from his perspective puts all of his questionable acts and decisions into perspective. And I honestly feel for the position he is in at times! I’m excited to see the progression in the relationship from Ethan’s POV and I’m hoping to find out why Cole hates Ethan so much! Once again McKenzie Hunter and AJ Connor you have done a fabulous job! I cannot get enough of these characters.

Just WOW!!!!!! I absolutely loved this POV. First I do have to say I'm a crazy huge fan of the Sky Brooks Series in general. So any peak into this world is like cake, ice cream, a chocolate binge... Whatever your cryptonite is thats this series for me... I pick it up n wait for the book hangover to commence.

I litterally can't put them down and you would think as a POV it would be less entertaining as a rehash of what you have already read. BUT NOT SO WITH THESE!!!

I am blown away by how this remains original and fresh. It deeply compliments the original storyline with new insights and thoughts you were completely unaware of. Man I love Ethan always have even when I couldn't envision what his malfunctions are (gotta read the series to fully understand what I mean).

But wow this gets you in all the feels because all of those unknown feelings are brought to light and you finally see how Ethan truly feels even when he doesn't say it.

Masterful writing by one of the best! If you love the Sky Brooks world this is a must have addition... Get it! Binge it!

And well if you don't have the Sky Brooks series may this tempt you all the more.

Long awaited

Moon Fated has been long awaited...(ha! I'm a poet and I didn't know it 😜)...and it more than made up that wait. Ethan's pov of this part of their story is explosive! There's so much going on in the background that you'd never guess at from Sky's pov. He's juggling so many things at once, including his very volatile emotions, which are evolving and being tested at every turn. And he's struggling to decide how much, if any, of his secrets to divulge to Sky. With an even pace and a really smooth flow, this was an easy read that was extremely engaging and really difficult to put down. If you haven't started this series, or the original Sky Brooks series, you really need to. No if's or but's, read them now! 😁

Ethan is trying to keep Sky, his brother and his pack safe. There are challenges to all them that keep hitting them. Ethan is also realizing just what Sky means to him. They have to figure out what to do about Logan and his terms. There is also the strange were-animals and what is going there. There is also the curse and who is behind it.

There is so many different threads in this story, I am not going to go into to much detail. I really enjoyed reading Ethan's point of view. You get to see his feelings, different views of pack members including the Alpha and his brother. It really does round out the story of Sky Brook Series. I recommend reading this book, you will the love Ethan's POV.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.

He has had a week

Lots happen in this book this series was originally from Skylars mind (and a little from Chris) this series is from ethans and has lots of extra.you see what Cole is really like.I get sky is innocent when it comes to men but she is smart and it posses me off how she lets people get so close.Josh would kiss her and she would just stand and stare.Cole turns up with two glasses and wine.be a little more loyal would be nice.she thinks Ethan did things because of control but don't block Cole.just say no and walk away.
There is a mistake, Ethan says he has never loved anyone before.but he told her he loved chris in previous books. This is not your normal werewolves when they find your mate story.

I've read every book McKenzie has written and loved each of them This one is no exception!! I love getting Ethan's POV. I couldn't help but smile as I realized that he loved Sky so much that he learned to be patient with her and understood her POV also. To me this book is when their love was solidified and started growing as a couple. This book is action packed with one obstacle after another. Cole makes his appearance in this book. He's a devious force to be reckoned with. All these characters are family and being able to revisit them through Ethan's POV is like a family reunion!! The Sky Brook series and Ethan's POV series are both must reads in my opinion.

The inside out of Ethans life is very interesting. Mister king of secrets! Ethan feels he needs to protect everyone especially Josh and sky, but they don't want is protecting. Can he learn to let go a little? Between curses, lost pack friends and challenges Ethan struggles to hold on to his normal organisation of his life and the pack. Skylar is a huge spanner thrown in to the works and keeps him on his toes. Their story is epic, can he get a hold of this relationship with this head strong woman? Sky challenges him at every corner, pushes all his buttons. Will she go to far? I love being able to read Ethans POV as well to get a better understanding of everything going on.

Moon Fated:
Sky Brooks world: Ethan book 5

Moon Fated definitely does not disappoint.  I can't decide now which is my favorite in the series they're all so good. It seems like every time the next one comes out that becomes my favorite 😀 Once I started reading it was so fast-paced and intriguing I could not put the book down. I wasn't crazy about Ethan before this book started but he was different in this book and it was nice to see that side of him and made me like him more. Definitely recommend reading

Wow. At a loss for words. I've been waiting to read this for what feels like forever but boy was it worth the wait. Its starts right where the last book ended and it will have you on the edge of your seat till the very end. Its so surprising how your view changes when reading Ethans POV it just gives you his perspective and in this boom like all the other Ethan POV books you start to understand why he is they was he is and what he's really thinking. Being able to read his POV is bring the whole series together and I cant wait to for the rest of his story.

I have waited for this book for a long time and it did not disappoint. Love all the characters in this series but always felt like Ethan was so arrogant and controlling. But this book showed such a different side to him that hasn't really come across before that I truly enjoyed. This fills in so many gaps from the other story and glad to see more of Claudia, she is bad ass! Well worth the read.

My favorite view of Ethan's world yet!

If you're following the Sky Brooks series reading Ethan's POVs really gives you a new perspective on him , and I love learning things though his eyes . But I have to say this is my favorite so far ! Very well written and without giving anything away, so many scenes in this book that I've wanted to see from his side! Again if you're following their word you'll love this chapter of it and if not , now is a good time to start!

Absolutely fantastic

Well where to begin, this book has it all and I loved Ethan’s POV, I feel that you finally get to see where his head is at and understand how much he thinks of Sky, his brother and the pack, It is brilliantly written and flows with many different aspects all coming together during the book. With a fantastic ending that left me wanting more. I highly recommend if you are looking for a good series of books to get your teeth into these are them.

Moon Fated

I alway love going back into the Sky Brooks world and doing so from Ethan's perspective does bring new insight into the story. I must admit though, that it left me a bit confused once or twice, where what Ethan was thinking while talking to Sky and what came out of his mouth seemed at odds with each other, but maybe I just don't understand men ;) Other than that it is a great read, especially if you are a fan already.

Exciting story

Great continuation of story. Love that books start off within days sometimes hours of last book as tho just a next chapter. Loved how Ethan gets more personal & get delve fully into him once & for all. ONLY Neg of book is although normally books seem to move fluidly twice seems as if book just jumps significant scenes as if a chapter would be missing like. One was but confusing other not as bad. But still all in all overall good book.

Ethans point of view is so interesting. In this you see how much he actually cares and the length he goes to to make Sky happy in her little world. I love Sky, don’t get me wrong. But after seeing things from his perspective, I feel like she’s a little whinny. I still love her character but I’m liking Ethan a whole lot more. Great story. The new author is on point.

I can’t get enough

It is so great to see how much more story there is to tell when you switch perspectives. Ethan’s books continue to amaze me with all the new /fresh content they reveal not just about the story but its main character. This is not a retelling of another story. I understand Ethan so much more and LOVE HIM MUCH BETTER . I truly can’t get enough.

Moon Fated is an amazing experience! I very much enjoyed the Sky Brooks series and reading it from another MC point of view brings me back into one of my favorite worlds. I loved getting a whole new perspective into Ethan and who he is. Seeing his love for Sky, his duty and love to and for the Pack, and his love for his brother and family made me love Ethan even more! This is a must read!

Yessss!!! LOVE IT

I’m finding that I prefer Ethans point of view. I found that sky whined a little too much for my liking. As annoying as Ethans stubbornness could be, it was nice to know that backstory as to why. When the admission of his feeling finally happened it was a huge relief bc THAT TOOK FOREVER! I can’t wait to read the next one!!

.... just whip it ....

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Gripping & suspenseful well written imagery. Loaded with extraordinary characters and a flawless interwoven story. The excerpt I used as an intro line is three words that brought joy and drew me in even further. Read these books as well as the rest of the series. You won't find better.

So good

Another action packed book. I was looking forward to this one from Ethan's perspective, and it was as good as I'd hoped. With all of the packs lives in danger, and Sky needing to fix it, Ethan has to support the danger she's putting herself in. Not to mention disappearances, odd magic and a hunt to protect his brother. Can't wait for the next book.

Great story

Loved reading Ethans POV on Moon Fated. You just can’t get everything you need in understanding a storyline from just one persons view. This just made the story that much more interesting. Love it love all McKenzie Hunters books.

Good

I enjoy seeing things through Ethan’s POV. He is usually so silent, so learning how much he really cares for Sky is nice. Have to say, quite often, Sky has a tendency to get on my nerves. I do enjoy this story though.

McKenzie's books never disappoint!! I loved reading from Ethan's POV. It gives a great new perspective. You truly learn there is more to him than what you get from Sky's POV.

I really liked the first 4 Ethan books. They were a story in their own right. This book just feels too much like Skye’s book, but told from Ethan’s point of view. Not much extra is included. The change of author is well noticed.
