Emma and Anderson was such a freaking fun read. Maybe they will have babies in the other stories. I hated how emma was towards the end but other than that super fun!!

Now onto EJ and Stella. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know damn well that’s gonna be crazy.

This is another hot one from J.A. Low. I'll have to say that this is a weaker one in the series for several reasons, and it has nothing to do with the fact that Emma and Anderson boink other people during their marriage (mutually agreed upon). Also, they do this, just FYI. If that's not your thing, stay clear of this book. It was spelled out specifically in the last book, so it wasn't a surprise. Anyhow, the problems with the book included glossing over the exclusive sex club (also alluded to) and a very rushed ending. I mean, how are you going to have a couple seeing other people while they go to a sex club and not like...do something sexy with the sex club? That just boggles my mind. Just don't put it in if you're going to gloss over it. I know it's the "safe place" the two can have extramarital relations, but it just drove me crazy that there really weren't specifics.

This is a "It happened in Vegas" storyline. I've never been fond of the whole accidentally get married in Vegas thing, but I at least thought it was interesting that it was done as a prank by Anderson's sister, who is Emma's good friend. What's more, Anderson's parents love Emma and would love to have her as part of the family. Of course, Anderson had no idea Elise and Emma even knew each other, so this whole "Oh, sure! Let's hang out with your parents. I love your parents!" thing threw Anderson through a loop. lol Anderson's mom is so desperate for her son to get married, she offers Emma a s#!t ton of money to start married for a year and threatens to disinherit Anderson. Even though Anderson doesn't care about his inheritance, he does care about Emma's new business, and they decide to go along with the farce. The problem? These two self-professed one-night standers can't have any extramarital scandals. What are they to do?

Apparently go to a secret sex club and boink other people. Oh, and they boink with each other there too. We don't actually get any detail into this. We'll just have to take their word that this is happening. As time goes on, Anderson and Emma realize that they prefer it be just them and no one else. Uh-oh. Is this the beginning of a monogamous relationship for this accidentally married couple?

This book could have been so much better if it had A.) focused on some kinky sex club stuff to differentiate itself from the other books. B.) Actually spent some time with the ending so that there was some legitimate meaning behind what was going on--not just a nod toward it. And C.) stop spending so much time recapping other books. We read them. We know. Move on. Tell use something different. For that reason, I had to knock it off the five star level.

meh

As an author, you need to be careful when you are overlapping stories.

I like the stories that overlap with all these characters, but I hate finding discrepancies. Just a quick example…. In book 2, Emma actually offers Lenna a job the weekend of the Hamptons before she quits. But then that all changes in this book.

Yes, authors… Your readers pay attention so when you switch up eyecolor, dates, timelines, etc. we notice.

This particular story was just OK for me. I wasn’t really thrilled at the path it took - and now the overlap from the other books are becoming redundant reading them. I was expecting more of a storyline for this I didn’t care for the shallowness of Emma.

Also, I’m not sure if it’s an Australian thing when it comes to grammar but the usage of question marks as opposed to it exclamation marks is hard for me to read 🤷🏻‍♀️.

after this book, I've decided I won't continue the series.

the whole series happens at the same time, so it's basically just their stories + the same events that have happened in the 2 other books.

and after 2 books that are basically the same, you just find yourself bored. I found myself bored. Especially after everything is the same.

we know the characters because we read about them. maybe it would've been better if the events that took place weren't the same as the others. but everything is the same. word for word. 20% of the book is the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

so I'm bored. and I'll discontinue reading the series.

now about the book:

I loved the chemistry between Emma and Anderson, but like I said, the story just repeats itself over and over again, so there's really nothing new.

dialogue and writing is still awful. some sentences were missing question marks, and some didn't even make sense. It felt like the book wasn't proof-read before it went into publishing.

The Merger by JA Low ✨

3.5/5 ⭐️

3.5/5 🌶️

🔥 Marriage of Convenience
🔥 Sex Club
🔥 Billionaire Romance
🔥 3rd Act Breakup

FYI: My review is written in real-time.
Book 3 of the Playboys of New York series, and already off to an irritating start. We all read about Walker and Chloe during book 1 .. and then book 2 … and now you guessed it book 3. The repetition is not needed.
Okay, I made it to chapter 3. Emma. Ma’am. Jesus. Love her?! Chapter 22, 43% - Emma and Anderson are my favorite. Also, “raven hair pulled back into a high ponytail” has been said almost once every chapter.
We’ve gotten so much of Emma and Anderson, unlike book 2 which was a big repeat of book 1 but from Logan and Lenna’s POV.
Okay there was a lot of repetition in this book of books 1 and 2. I liked the 3rd act breakup. This is probably my favorite book yet.

I mean, it wasn't terrible per se. It was just kinda meh? I liked certain traits between Emma and Anderson, but they never felt like fleshed out characters. I liked that they openly communicated with each other. I didn't like that there was so much drama from other characters taking up space that could be used to develop Emma and Anderson's relationship. They really felt like secondary characters in their own story.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how we were given more of Anderson and Emma's story and their friends were kinda in the background like not too much. I loved Emma, it just solidifies my idea that women should be able to have the same fun as guys without getting shamed for it.

The third in this series & my favourite so far
Anderson & Emma’s story was so good ❤️‍🔥
A drunken Vegas marriage, fake relationship/marriage
This book has lots of spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Emma & Andy were both workaholics & commitment-phobes who enjoyed each other with no strings attached
Their story was a great read!

The Independents

This is the third installment of the Playboys of New York series and this third book hasn't lost a step. Emma and Anderson both figured they were single and going to stay that way...until Vegas.

The chemistry was great and I loved the humor the author brought as well. This is a series you don't want to miss.

Finally Anderson and Emma are here in all their glory. These characters have been some that I've wanted to read right from the start of this series. They are bold and bolshy, have no expectations of happily ever afters. Until they find the other half of themselves and everything they wasn't looking for.

The story that comes with Anderson and Emma was unexpected. One that I didn't expect to read. It made them real and more personable to me. And when you see the real them you can't help but fall head over hills in love with them both. There is a lot that happens around this group of friends. But what happens in this story totally broke my heart.

I totally recommend this book and series. These are brilliant. With real and emotional situations. I can't ant wait for the next book.

Steam Everywhere!!!

Although each book in this amazing Playboys Of New York series from Author JA Low are stand-a-lones, they occur almost concurrently and have interconnecting characters. If you haven’t read the others, I highly recommend that you do, if not however, Ms Low does a great job of giving readers the skinny on what’s going on.

Let me say now, that THIS is the story I’ve been waiting for. Emma and Anderson’s because individually, they’re both highly sexual people who hit it once and once only, but somehow, you know that for them it was going to be different.

Emma has amazing confidence. She’s out there and she owns it. When she’d been asked about her level of confidence in previous books, she spoke briefly of a less than stellar childhood, and I needed to know more. I can tell you now though, that what I did know, her epic work ethic and determination to succeed, was something that I absolutely admired.

From the first page going in, it was like stepping into a sauna cranked on high. Steam. Steam everywhere and oh holy hell it was hot. Both Emma and Anderson have intense personalities, so I imagined that they were going to clash like the social and business titans they were. I have to admit to imagining breaking out the popcorn when Anderson’s family got involved, because it seemed they all knew and loved her through her best friend status with his sister Elise. They’d been tricked into a marriage and the Parentals aren’t happy about an imminent annulment, and it’s not often that even an alpha male is able to say NO to his mother – especially when she’s the one to come up with the ultimate bribe to stay married!! Anderson’s mum was a legend.

I have to admit that my romantic heart took a bit of a hit for some time during the story, but it was due to JA Low’s writing ability that it didn’t dent my love for the book as a whole. Not every marriage is the same, and those two made it work for them. I’ve been loving this series, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next book. 4.5 Stars

Cheating is not for me

I had high hopes for Anderson and Emma. Their relationship started off disgusting. I'm all for the one night stands in books but having Anderson watch her have one with someone else was too much. Then sleeping with other people while married was torture to read. I don't understand how people enjoyed this book. Sure they got their HEA which wasn't even great by the end but what they did to get there was horrible.

recensione a cura del blog “Libri Magnetici" by Ila

The same story, different couple. Again!

I read the first two books. Wasn't super thrilled with the authors writing overall but the characters seemed interesting enough so I read the second book. Not realizing it was the exact. Same. Timeline. As the first. Seriously?! So annoying. There is so much overlap that it made the 2nd book boring and unoriginal. So I thought, no way would book 3 be the same timeline too, right?! Wrong!

This one goes back to the island from book one and Chloe's honeymoon. Which I didn't like the ending of either with Walter - talk about unrealistic. No thanks. And then to Vegas where they got married. Which was revealed in book 2 as well. We already knew these guys (Emma and Anderson) basically fell for each other in book 2 but apparently the author didn't have anything else to write about them so she just did their story on the same timeline. Super lame. Very unoriginal. So when I read book two, I said if book 3 was the same timeline, I'd only be giving it one star. So here's it's one star.

Seriously, why are we beating this timeline like a dead horse. It's over. Let's move on. The characters are still childish and immature and weak. Like, seriously, what's with all the crying? Emma had me at the beginning when she was all "I love sex" and then enjoyed it with multiple people including Anderson (Andy). But then they still had their open relationship aspect and she was enjoying the sex club without him until he confessed it wasn't the same with others and they ended up exclusive. But she seemed to still be enjoying the other people and only stopped because he said something. Whereas with him, we already knew he didn't like it with others as much before he said something to her.

But then she turned into this weak woman who was falling to the ground crying when Chloe got kidnapped. Yes, I had to read about it 3x now because I'm not one to DNF a book and the author couldn't come up with anything else to write about that was interesting for these characters. And let's be real, there's no way I believe she was able to break two glass windows of the row houses to try to find Chloe. Be real.

And then at the end when she's running away and avoiding her husband because she's got a scar on her face from a car accident and making him suffer at home while avoiding him? And he just says ok? Really? What a lame read.

I feel like the author has set up EJ and Stella to start at her moving in because of the car accident and broken leg ... And I'm curious about how their relationship goes based on that. But, so help me, if we repeat more of this stupid timeline and this stupid story, and have weak ass characters that are hard to appreciate them it too will get a one star review!

I think until this point this is my favorite book. I loved their personalities and how well they fit together, it was incredible honestly. Emma and Anderson and the two most perfect people for each other and it's crazy.

We go back to when the girls go on vacation for Chloe to get away from the scandal of her ex and Emma meets one of the boys, Anderson and has some fun with him. They instantly have some sort of connection but they are both clear that they don't have much time for more. We continue and they sometimes meet up to hookup but it's not more until they get to Vegas. As said in the other books Anderson's sister pranks them by marrying them without them knowing (which is btw WOW) and they decide to stay married because of the ultimatum given by their mom ($12 mil to Emma and Anderson keeps his inheritance).

The only thing that ticked me off was the fact that they "cheated". So I understand that they gave each other consent but personally it annoyed me a bit but apart from that I don't have many complaints. I really enjoyed the refreshing fact that they actually communicated and although Anderson had a few internal freak-outs about his emotions, in the end they accepted their feelings with not much of a difficulty. I loved to see their relationship flourish and they really are a match.

Fine up until the accident - read on KU

I enjoyed Anderson and Emma getting together. I liked the spin on the fake marriage trope. But you get to about 65% and think everything is going great so how is this book going to get to the end without some unnecessary drama. Well, it doesn't. The accident occurs and I hate how Emma reacts after that. She was quite selfish. Yes, she needed time to heal but she didn't need to break everyone else in the meantime. She didn't need to be a coward.

This book would have been more interesting if we didn't get so many of the details in the previous two books.

An there were the usual grammatical errors. This one wasn't as bad as most but I think it is the could where she named the common mistake of stating "I could care less." Actually, that might have been in Chloe's book but it is an example of things a good editor would catch. The expression is "I couldn't care less," meaning the person doesn't care at all. Stating you could care less would mean you do care some. She also doesn't understand I is not an object. There are missing words, wrong words, etc.

This author is sacrificing quantity for quantity and it is a shame. In the long run, a better brand built on well researched books would pay off more than releasing sloppy books quickly and all of her books are sloppy. She has such potential, though and I usually end a book with a smile on my face but I did not here. In fact, this was my least favorite of her books. We don't even get good scenes at the Paradise Club. We just get the standard scene when the girl first sees the cube.

This series is my favourite for the year!!!

Holy crap! How does a series continue to get better with each story and each chapter. While the Playboys are all set at the same time there is quite a lot over overlapping, and while I thought this wills irritate my, it’s has created a bigger
better picture as a whole.

I love Anderson and Emma, both are bad ass with huge personalities and thrown together in a secret marriage ( so much so they didn’t even remember), they’re explosive, sexy and the IT couple in my eyes.

Starting as a prank Anderson and Emma get married in Vegas under a lot of alcohol, the pair have insane chemistry, so they’re very sexually attracted to each other ( these two will make anyone blush), but when Emma is given an offer she can’t refuse from Anderson’s mother, she finds herself living with Anderson as husband and wife. The man is stupidly rich, he doesn’t need his parents money or demands but he can’t help wanting to support Emma with her company.

Emma is fiercely independent, she doesn’t need a man but she love “men”, and she’s not sorry or embarrassed about it. When Anderson’s parents offer her 12 million dollars to stay with him for 12 months, no scandals no dramas… it should be easy and it is until lines but and both find themselves falling for each other. Neither are the parental types but a family together is perfect for them…

Everything is easy, perfect until a real engagement is on offer, drinks are shared, then boom 💥 everything Emma and Anderson have, had, and yearn for are all put in real danger!!! This will be a new test neither saw coming. It will leave your heart racing right to the very end!!!

Recensione

Buongiorno lettori,

Ma sicuramente do 5⭐️
