Jason Wake #2

Surging Wake

Rate this book
Wrestling his inner demons, fighting to escape his tragic past, and wanting to right his father’s wrongs, Jason Wake is on the hunt for injustice. And he doesn’t have to look for long. . . .

In the Caribbean islands, a brutal and well-organized criminal operation has infested paradise.

Together, with a former Special Forces commander and a newly formed team of covert operatives, Jason travels across the Caribbean to investigate a recent spike in human trafficking. His team quickly discovers that the cruelty and bloodshed are just the beginning if they can’t track down and put an end to the vile leader responsible.

Car chases, scuba diving, tropical locales, lost caves, and gunfights abound in this action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure.

Jason and his newly formed team of folks looking to right wrongs and make the world a better place, don’t have long to wait before they learn of an organization deep into human trafficking and illegal mining in the Caribbean. Lots of action in this non-stop thriller set in beautiful locales. I just wish the writing was a higher caliber but still a good read. 3.5 stars

Enjoyed The First Book in This Series, This One Not So Much

I genuinely enjoyed the first book in the series, however this one, not quite so much, though I can not really describe why not. I suppose it simply did not “grab” me as much as the first one did. That said.

The story line was good, and the characters were fine. I found none of the “grammar errors” prevalent in many other eBooks, so the reading was smooth and quickly.

Do I recommend it. Yes, but read the “author’s blurb” and even “Take a Look Inside” and read what’s offered first. Then decide. Never, in my opinion, base your reading upon the “reviews” of another, as we are all “different”. We all have different “triggers” and “turn-offs”.

If this brief statement helped you, “please” mark it so. If not, read another review.

A real page turner

Wow.. I love this character. Along with his team are heroes second to none. This author weaves a tale, that is so engaging, frightening, in that you fear for the lives of those people who have been victimized, and for those who have made it their mission to save them.
You finally exhale at the end.
A must read for anyone who loves to follow strong plots and characters from book to book, as I do. I cannot wait for the next one.

I am a huge fan of Matthew Rief, an d especially the "Logan Dodge" series. This first volume in this Jason Wake series was really entertaining, but I was a little disappointed in this one. It wasn't that it was bad, it just was not as good as I expected it to be. I will continue to read "Jason Wake" volumes, because I trust that they will be better.

Losing all touch with reality

The second of the Jason Wake series veers off course into the ridiculous. With Wake’s money and Cooper’s contacts, the hero-jumping-into-the-flames approach is just silly. Hopefully the author gets his plot lines more realistic as the series goes on.

Great new series

If you love Logan your love Jason. The twist and turns are great, lots of difference between Jason Wake and Logan Dodge. Read it cover to cover in one day, it's that good.

Well, now

I need a Valium and a vacation after this adventure!! I'm worn out, over worked, under paid and just plain tired. One would have to have nerves of steel and iron to be around this guy for very long! I think I'll take a nap......

Okay

Similar to the first book. Another problem, Caymanite is not that valuable. It is simply dolomite. Some is virtually indistinguishable from Caymanite.

Easy read

Probably a bit predictable but fun action and likeable characters. Interested in whether our main character is able to move past his grief in the future ....

Action filled

A lot of action and a good story line.
Some of the situations seemed a little too lucky but outside of that it was well written.
Well worth the time to read.
