I'm not a huge fan of slow burn romances but in this case I absolutely loved the relationship Lottie and Owen had. It was slow, yes, but there were so many emotions involved that it kept me glued to my kindle just dying to find out what would happen between them. It was evident from their first meeting that they had something special between them but it wasn't an easy journey and I actually really enjoyed that. Having to watch them figure things out and just be friends for so long made the connection they had even stronger.

Bottom line, this is a must read. It connects to the previous Saint Street novels and actually starts during the events of the last book but I think the author did a good job at keeping it spoiler free and this book could be read as a standalone. Though I think reading in order will give you more insight in this friend group and you'll get to know the characters more.

“We spend the rest of the night on opposite ends of the couch walking a movie, pretending that we don’t want each other as much as we do.”

I was introduced to Owen, Charlotte(also known as Lottie), and her big secret in Never Now. I have been wanting to read their story ever since. Owen and Charlotte were so much more than I expected. Owen is sweet, kind, and ‘good people’ as stated by Stan, Charlotte’s cousin. Lottie considers Owen an extremely caring person which is his best and least-best character trait. For some reason, I assumed Lottie to be this sweet, vulnerable woman who is going through a lot. I was wrong. She was so tough and had a great spunk. She’s also not a movie person. She moves away from Edinburgh to move on from her piece-of-s**t ex-boyfriend, Beck. Since Lottie is Stan’s cousin, Stan is Owen's best friend’s girlfriend. Yes, very F.R.I.E.ND.S-Ishq(if that’s a word) Lottie and Owen meet and become good friends. Owen is aware of Lottie’s situation and tries to help her in different ways. They both want more from each other but will Lottie’s issues from her past destroy their chance of a happily-ever-after?

There are a lot of amazing things about this book and what stood out to me the most was the casual tone and ensemble characters. Evie, Owen’s lovely mom, a surrogate parent to Ali and Em makes an appearance. Reeve’s presence was short but meaningful. I liked Stan and Lottie’s friendship and her role in Lottie’s life, unlike Em who didn’t have much significance in this book. I also loved the epilogue. I enjoyed Owen and Lottie’s relationship. Ironically, in the blurb, it is mentioned that their feelings towards each other are anything but platonic but in the novel, during most of it, their relationship felt quite platonic to me. But as the novel nears its end, the friendship phase wears off.

“It’s funny, I think so many people look at Owen and see this big sexy goofball, and sure, he definitely is, but there are so many layers to that man, I could start peeling them back today and I don’t know if I’d ever get to the center.”

Late Love is written in the first person in Lottie’s perspective and is slow-paced. Never Now was my first exposure to Scarlett Hopper and her writing was more engaging in this book. It took me a while to get into the mood of that book but Late Love’s an easy read. She is a brilliant writer, especially how she ends the phrases of the final, ending paragraph(s) in chapters. I still can’t believe they call the metro ‘the tube’, like what? But other than that, the British slang didn’t throw me off.

I haven’t read saint street so I’m looking forward to reading that. I also bought a free copy of brief encounters, the copy was free during that time, so I do wanna read and review that but I don’t know when I’ll be able to or when I’m gonna get to read Scarlett Hopper’s other books because I’m currently drowning in my stack of arcs, on that note, I better get to it. Late Love is recommended to all readers in the mood for a cozy, slow-burn romance. Read Never Now before you read this since Reeve's story sub-plot is revealed in this one. ARC provided by Scarlett Hopper and thenextsteppr via NetGalley. Thank you.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK LATE LOVE BY SCARLETT HOPPER.

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
AUTHOR: SCARLETT HOOPER.
TYPE: BOOK #3 OF THE SAINT STREET SERIES...CAN BE READ AS STANDALONE.
POV: DUAL POV...
MY RATING: 4 STARS.

Charlotte "LOTTIE" has just come out of a bad relationship. Love has lost meaning for her and to trust someone has become a difficult chore for her. But apart from the emotional baggage, she is carrying a child, a child she wasn't ready for yet has become her life. She has made walls around her heart, and only one man has the power to break them...

Owen has never know what he was missing out in life before meeting Lottie. Accidently, they both shared her biggest secret and then he became her closest Confidant. They both try to close off their attraction and feelings for each other but how much can you push until someone breaks? Forced to confront her feelings...Lottie must decide, will she keep living in her past or face a future with Owen?

“It’s funny, I think so many people look at Owen and see this big sexy goofball, and sure, he definitely is, but there are so many layers to that man, I could start peeling them back today and I don’t know if I’d ever get to the center.”

Here comes again, the hot man from Saint Street comes to win your heart over. The songs Scarlett writes from their perspective are so swoon-worthy like you could hear them singing and your heart is racing for their union.

I was first introduced to Lottie and Owen in the book Never Now.
I could feel their story brewing in the background and was so excited to read this...It was soo much more than I was expecting...a light, sweet Romance that pulls the strings of your heart.

Own was the sweetest like...I just want to ask one thing after reading them, "Do they still make men like this?"...He was perfect like flawless...so sacrificing and sensitive to Lottie's feelings...Hw always knew the right thing to say...

Lottie...This girl...I was expecting a weak, vulnerable broken girl who is still carrying the scars from her past but Noooo....She was a female warrior so strong..a spitfire indeed. You can see her personality change just by reading the prologue...

This was a Cozy, Hot, slow burn, friends to lovers Romance...

Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Swoonability:😍😍😍😍

Review:

Firstly, let me just say this is not my usual kind of read. I’m a fantasy girl and it takes a good looking book and a catchy blurb to sway me and this had just that. This is a book that I’ll recommend to anyone that will listen.

Lottie is a strong mc, watching her progression (and regressions) throughout the book provided for an entertaining, yet realistic read. There were moments you wanted to just giver her a hug and other moments you wanted to shake her.

Owen, well theres not much to say about him other than I wish he was real and I want one. (Anyone that knows me know that Drummers are my thing 😍)

Having grown up in a similar situation to the one Lottie fears, I can completely understand her reservations and anxiety when embarking on her journey. This book resonated with me on a deeply personal level and was everything I didn’t know I needed.

The only reason it didn’t get 5⭐️ from me was due to the overuse of the words “bloody” and “lad” I’m from London myself and whilst we Londoners obviously do say these words, I’ve never heard them said quite so much but that’s a purely personal thing.

This story teaches that you can be strong and independent and still need people. You can let people in, show vulnerability and that in itself can be a strength. It shows that it’s better to be single than in the wrong relationship. It teaches that you can recover from heartbreak and betrayal and come back stronger and wind up in a situation so much better than you could ever envision for yourself.

Overall this book made me laugh, cry and want to scream and swear. An utterly compelling and emotive read that had me captivated from the first page. I could not put it down. I did think there would be a bit more steam to it but overall it didn’t detract from the story. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read it.

This is book #3 in the series Saint Street and I absolutely love the way that this author writes and her style of writing is awesome. This is book 3 but I feel it can be read as a stand-alone too. This beautiful romance is one that you will not want to miss reading.

Charlotte 'Lottie' is a woman that is having things quite through at the moment after finding her boyfriend cheating on her and has had enough. She decided to move and try and star over and get her life in to shape, only while she is trying to do that she get the complete shock of her life and its totally unexpected.
Owen is the most nicest, the most sweetest, the most caring and protective man that you will ever meet and he wants to help Lottie out in every way a person can be helped and he never wants anything in return.

I absolutely love the way that this author writes her characters and you always feel completely invested in the story and what they are going through. I loved how strong deep down Lottie is and how gentle that Owen can be and together they are beautiful. I was really rooting for them both and Lottie's ex was a total jerk. This book will have your emotions up and down and this slow burn romance will keep you turning every page. Theses two had something special between them and even though Lottie has been hurt Owen gives her all the time that she needs. This book is an awesome romance novel and I really enjoyed reading it and I highly recommend that you read it too.

Firstly Thankyou netgalley, Victory editing co-op and Scarlett Hopper for the review copy of this lovely book. Let me say this now .. don't we all hope for love and understanding from our people the most? That exact element is so well portrayed in this very book.

This is quite a common trope in a novel but what set this book apart was that the emotions were linked throughout all the characters who were mentioned in the book. Every feeling touched deep and the description of the desparate circumstances were highlighted in a bittersweet way.
I could connect to this story as a woman, I have a read of books focusing on problems but the familial support, the friends, the external family here just takes my breath away. In tomes where even speaking our minds can lead to violent outcomes .. the threat that we should not talk back even when we were wrongly pushed is constantly hovering on us our lead Lottie just takes up a life changing experience.

The male lead Owen is the person most of us will swoon over. Being in Lotties life who is drastically messed up isn't a problem and he is a proud mama's boy and a movie freak just like me !! Go Marvel fan !! I loved the overall and intimate reach of Owen's personality and respect this book a lot for this very aspect where the women are respected so much. Even parents treat the kids like adults trusting them and lending a comfort hand and that resonates a deep impression on me.

As always some of us expect the worst when things get good so you'll also see a lot of drama of you pick this book up 😂. I was a little disappointed in the landscape descriptions an the accent which didn't match the place the book was set it, other than it I liked the book. Thankyou for the ARC again.

This book is perfect for quick readers who love a good romantic drama and deep ingrained emotions. #latelove #netgalley

After Lottie's boyfriend cheats on her, she decides to move back to Notting Hill so that she can be away from him and closer to her cousin and friends. She meets Owen through her friends, and is immediately attracted to him, but knows she isn't in the right place for a relationship. The two strike up a close friendship, especially once something drastically changes in Lottie's life. Owen is there for her, through thick and thin, but can she trust him?

This was a quick and easy read. I flew through most of it in one sitting. It was a very touching read as well. I was really invested in the story - it's an absolutely gorgeous tale of love and it tugs at the heartstrings.

The characters were easily my favourite part of the book. Lottie is a very difficult person, but I found her highly relatable. Owen was just . . . *swoons*
I also enjoyed the fact that the side characters had their own lives going on and weren't just there as fillers (this is the third in the series, but can be read as a standalone, which is what I did. The first two books give more backstory on the other character)

I loved the dynamic between the friends. They were such an amazing group - supportive, loyal, helpful . . . it really added to the story.

This was a great read. It was unlike any other romance I've read, and even people who aren't romance fans might enjoy this, since there is so much going beneath the surface.

ARC Review
Late Love is a book that show us a real-life story of love.
Lottie, who just broke up with her boyfriend, soon finds out about something that will change forever.
Lottie and Owen start as friends, Owen is always there for her, helps her. And with time, their friendship changes into something more, love.

I loved that the book shows a realistic perspective of love story that can actually happen in real life.

For me this book is light, interesting, heartwarming and easy to read. I loved the way the author built the relationship between the characters, it was on point, not too slow and not too fast.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Say hello to the warm fuzzies. The wrap up to the Saint Street series ties everything up in the best bow. Although I would love books about Hugo and Louis because I just love these characters. I want Evie and Steve to adopt me. ANYWAY, this book is sickly sweet in the best way with just enough edge to keep you going. If this series is anything to go by I can't wait to see what Scarlett Hopper gets up to next.

Let me just say Late Love was the change of pace I needed.

It tells the story of Lottie who finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. After ending it with him in the most spectacular way, she moves back home to Nothing Hill. I loved the change in setting and the feel this story had. Unlike anything I’ve read of lately.

Now what Lottie lacks in a love life, she makes up for with a great group of friends. On a night out to hear her friends band play, she meets Owen the drummer. Owen has a personality that sucks you in. Lottie is trying to get her life back in order, only to find out she is pregnant. She hides her pregnancy from everyone around her except Owen. Owen, automatically recognizes the signs and is there for her. He provides a much needed level of support, comfort and understanding. He is so patient and kind, I was all in my feels for this man. Lottie struggles with her connections to Owen, constantly feeling as though she is holding him back from living his life. Lottie is so determined and so strong, you will find yourself wanting to shake her and say open your eyes he is crazy about you.

The emotions, struggles and changes she experiences throughout her pregnancy was the pure truth. Along emotional push and pull and the angst Late Love is a great slow burn. Is Owen’s love too Late for Lottie?

Owen was everything I’d hoped he would be in this book! He didn’t run away, didn’t back down, didn’t push too hard, and was there every step if the way with Lottie. Heck, he held Lottie together before she even knew she needed holding, and when he doubts and old hurts projected onto him, he didn’t pull a dumb man move. Oh, no. He did what he could to reiterate just how much Lottie and Rosie meant to him and just how permanently he wanted them both in his life.

Lottie was sometimes a little harder to love, but I got it. She was badly burned, stuck facing a great new world alone, and truly felt that Owen could and should do better than her. It’s a good thing she finally got past her hurts and realized just what Owen truly meant to her, because he wasn’t about to walk away without a gigantic fight.

I loved their road to happy and adored seeing Owen as the guy I thought he was in the first book of this series. This one definitely did both him and Lottie justice.

Late Love sends you on a mix of emotions, makes you want to slap some and hug others, while at times you want to do both at the same time. It is such a strong story and watching how each situation is handled was absolutely amazing! Scarlett Hopper is beyond talented with her writing and use of detail to keep you wanting to see where things will go in the future, not only with the main characters but all the characters involved.

Talking about an angsty story. WOW. This was a fantastic book. I loved Lottie and Owen. Such fantastic characters and the side characters were amazing as well. I hope they get their own books as well. I can't say enough about Owen. He was love, caring, understanding and faithful throughout everything. Although there were a few times I wanted to throw my kindle and say "what are you thinking" but in the end they redeeed themselves. This was a wonderful story that I truly enjoyed.

This is the third book in the "Saint Street" series, however this book could be read as a stand alone but then you wouldn't know the story behind the other two couples. From the previous book "Saint Street" we learned that Lottie was pregnant and Owen was the only one that knew until she fell and was hospitalized. "Late Love" starts from where Lottie left cheating Beck and moves back to London not realizing she is pregnant with his child. Strong, determined, self reliant Lottie has a hard time letting anyone in or trusting again. Owen, the strong, patient and supportive man knows Lottie better than she knows herself through her rollercoaster pregnancy. Owen knows what she needs and when. I enjoyed reading how Lottie and Owens friendship gradually turned into something more.

Owen is a Graphic designer and a member of a band with his friends. Lottie is a Pharmacist who just caught her boyfriend cheating. Owen and Lottie hang around with the same group of friends. Lottie has a secret and Owen is the only one that knows she is pregnant. The pregnancy definitely bonded these two in ways they never knew possible. I enjoyed This book. What I enjoyed most about this book was how they built the relationship slowly. Owen was madly in love with her but she took her time. Lottie was definitely in denial and didn’t want to burden Owen with a baby. I truly Enjoyed this love story.

ARC received from the Next Step PR. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.

I have been most looking forward to Lottie and Owen’s story after Never Now. I knew it’d be the best of the series and I was sooooo right. These two are everything. This book WRECKED me. I stayed up all night reading this book, unable to put it down, while the tears continuously streamed down my face. Just when I had a dry eye, it started up again.

Scarlett Hopper and her amazing writing seems to be the only books I take the time to quote in reviews, but this book has so many heart-string-tugging lines, I’d be quoting the whole book. The level of angst and heartbreak in this one was almost too much to handle. This book defines the word ‘angst’. I love slow-burn romance and these two are the epitome of slow-burn, angst, and all those wonderful other emotions.

Owen is literally the sweetest character from the beginning. I felt for the poor guy; he was really trying. Lottie bugged me. I have no actual complaints against the design of her character as it made sense, but her as a person bothered me. I wanted to reach through my screen and strangle her for being so dumb. She thinks she’s noble, but she’s missing right in front of her.

I can’t wait to see what next this author brings to us but for now, I’ll be healing from this amazing 6 star read.

“Anyway, the real reason I’m here is that I want to help you, Lottie. I know we aren’t exactly close, but it’s clear we get along. What’s also clear is you’re going through this alone and that can’t be easy on anyone. I know this might come off as weird or pushy. I’m not trying to put the moves on you or anything; I want to help.”

Charlotte “Lottie” Knight didn’t expect her world change drastically after she break up with her boyfriend, but it is. She’s a 25 years old pharmacist who was living her life without any planning, until she got pregnant. She decides to keep it in secret. The only one who knows about the pregnancy is Owen Bowers, a graphic designer and drummer of a band. Both have friends in common and actually at first they are not so close but then he starts to spend a lot of time with her earning her trust so she decides to tell him about the pregnancy. Their relationship is between the line of friendship and something else but neither of them dare to cross the limit. Owen is supporting to Lottie even if he is not the father of her child and Lottie is dealing with an emotional chaos. Their relationship is growing to a point of no return and Owen wants to take the risk but Lottie doesn’t...

𝐿𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑣𝑒 is a sweet romantic, self-discover and realistic story. Lottie is a stubborn, strong and independent woman who is dealing with a new change in her life: a pregnancy. The book reflected the growing on the character; at first not knowing what to do, after that accepting her new rol as a mother. Owen had a great influence in her, being her rock supporting her unconditionally. He is so perfect: handsome, smart, generous, sweet, a loyal friend, and always a gentleman. So difficult no to fall in love with him. He was determinate de to get the girl because he really loves Lottie and the newborn, but Lottie had her insecurities and most of the time she was pushing him to do his life without worry about diapers and milk bottles. Fortunately she open her eyes and heard her heart. I love the transition of their love story. It was a slow burn but in the perfect point.
Also I love to know about Stana, Ali, Emilia and Reeve.

I give this book 4.5 stars.

In full disclosure I did not know this was book #3. Oops! Lol BUT with that said ... I loved this book! I found it be a good stand-alone read, but I imagine it would be even better if you read the previous two books and had more invested in the characters.

Lottie is a very likable character - although I wanted to smack the crud out of her at a couple of points, lol. And even when I wanted to smack her I could understand where she was coming from. The way Lottie is written is very real and I think many of us have had her fears before, even if we weren't in her exact position. I enjoyed the friendship group, but really loved Lottie and Owen together. Owen is everything. He is everything Lottie needed and more! I also loved Lottie and Owen's mom's relationship - it's nice to read stories with strong family connections.

Definitely read this book if you're already invested in the series! But even if not, I think you'd enjoy it. I'm interested in going back and reading the first two books now. :)

Oh I couldn’t put this one down! It was the banter! The I want you but my life is just in shambles but we are perfect for each other that just was like telling me you must finish this book so I did all in one sitting.

Lottie is just this firecracker whose life literally is flipped upside down and then backflipped upside down again. Owen just becomes this constant for her never seeing the flaws she so desperately hides behinds because of fear. Also Owen’s love of movies is just everything.

The connection they have creates this bond that builds from the instant they meet. I love their friends that all weave into their lives. It’s my first time reading a book of Scarlett’s but it won’t be by last.

4 LOVING ✪✪✪✪

My second read of the author and I can say this story is my favorite one :)

~Charlotte "Lottie" Knight & Owen Bower~
Lottie and Owen met under the bad timing of when Lottie just got out of a 2-year long relationship where she was cheated on.
The spark was there, but Lottie was not ready to jump into another relationship, so Owen was put solidly into the friendship zone.

Things changed fast after Lottie found herself to be pregnant and * surprise* Owen was the one who stood by her the whole time. He was the one who stepped up and helped Lottie without being asked to.
However, Lottie was a bit jaded after what happened to her, so she had issues that led her to push Owen away.
Still, Owen didn't give up. He just showed Lottie time and again that he could be trusted.

Their journey was not easy but it was worth it.

This book is written completely in Lottie's first POV that it explains in detail how Lottie deals with all of that is happening to her throughout the story. The pace is slow-ish at first but not from the second half part of the book.
I enjoy the story from the beginning until the end!

If you're looking for an angsty, slow-burned, read then Late Love is for you! I highly recommend it.
*I suggest to read Saint Street and Never Now first to have a better understanding of the group dynamic and the story since there is an interlapped part.

*Thank you TheNextStep PR for the ARC!

This book wasnt for me. The entire plot revolves around a pregnancy, which is not a trope I enjoy. The blurb doesnt mention it which I think is a big mistake since its often a Marmite topic in romance novels. I don't know if it was solely down to my lack of interest in the main plot or not but this book was slow. It had no pace or intrigue. And the plot outwith the pregnancy was dull. The romance was kind of meh and it was more of a close friendship than a relationship. I loved Owen's character (the books saving grace really) and I initially really liked Lottie but once the story progressed and after her actions in the later chapters I just couldnt enjoy reading her. The writing itself was great and there were some really funny moments so I'd definitely pick up another book by this author, maybe even within this series but this one was not for me and I think really missed the mark for a romance novel since it had very little romance.

This book is my favorite in the Saint Street trio. I loved this book.

It is the story of Lottie who after being cheated on by her boyfriend of two years returns to London and becomes part of the gang at Saint Street. Here she meets Owen, but having just come out of a horrible relationship, realizes friendship is all she can take on right now. Things get more complicated when she realizes she's brought more back with her from Edinburgh than she realized.

Their story is about trust, love, and truly healing from past hurts. I adored these characters and their journey. It is well written, like all of Scarlett Hopper's works, but is the third book in this set and I highly recommend reading Saint Street and Never Now first. It isn't necessary, but it will ruin some things if you read this first. Definitely buy this one now!

Charlotte "Lottie" Night didn't expect her year to turn out this way. After finding out she's carrying more than just the emotional baggage of her breakup, life as she knows it quickly changes. Panicked, she attempts to balance everything alone until she meets Owen.

Owen Bower didn't know what he was missing until Lottie crashed into his life. She's everything he never knew he wanted, but a relationship is the last thing on Lottie's mind. Yet when a chance encounter between the two reveals Lottie's biggest secret, a bond is immediately formed.

Owen quickly becomes Lottie's closest confidant, but it's clear their connection is anything but platonic. Emotions can only be ignored for so long until someone cracks, and it looks like Owen will be first. Forced to confront her feelings, Lottie must decide, can she move forward without her past getting in the way?

This book is part of a series. While you don’t have to read the other two books, I feel that it would have been beneficial if I had done so.

The first few chapters were a little confusing for me as there were lots of characters mentioned and it would have made it less confusing if I had read the other books. But that is just me.

I struggled to get into this one as I did not relate to the main character and did not find her likeable.

Alas this book was just not for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

DNF after 66 pages. So it says this is a standalone but there’s so much going on and so many characters that just appear. I honestly thought I had missed a chapter. Also, I loathe that she calls him puppy… WHY?!

Read this book with caution: This could give you 'baby fever' 😁

But sometimes, even the strongest people need a little help. I don’t want to save you. I want to help you.
