So well, that they’d do anything to escape them. Setbacks, fistfights, rumors, and non-stop drama have the girls fed up with their current life; yet coping the best way they see fit. Unfortunately, everyone must go through their own darkness to see the light. As the drama reaches an all-time high, how do the girls decide when enough is enough? Twenty-five-year-old Coco Brown thought she’d lucked up when she met Flex Carter. Captivated by her beauty, Flex wastes no time snatching her out of the projects and moving her into one of his lavish townhomes far away from the concrete jungle she grew up in. For four years, Coco is provided with everything a girl could need and want, as long as she promises to give Flex one loyalty. Unfortunately, Coco can’t hold up to her end of the bargain, causing her life to change drastically overnight. Back to the one place she desperately didn't want to be, she is soon struck with another devastating blow. Almost overnight, Coco finds herself barreling full speed towards rock bottom. As she struggles to come up with a solution to get her back on her feet, she meets Axle — a drug dealer who may mean her more harm than good. Janiah believes that she and her child’s father Tommy are going to be together forever. Sadly she soon realizes her forever is never going to happen. When Janiah learns that Tommy has been lying and cheating, she feels betrayed. Her first thoughts are to walk away and forget him; however, Tommy’s obsessive ways make it impossible for her to do so.Drama is at an all-time high once Janiah begins taking the necessary steps to move on with her life. Like a dream come true, Janiah’s entire life is changed once she crosses paths with Vontae. He seems to be her Prince Charming. Though, even he has a few secrets of his own that could ruin their love before it even begins. Will Janiah be able to keep her head above water as she battles for a new start? Or will she let Tommy ruin her chances with Vontae? Two men fighting for her heart. Will either of them succeed in capturing it? Bianca is the definition of a ride or die chick straight out of the Martin Luther King projects. She's down for getting to the money by any means necessary; including, getting over on the government and running credit card scams with her longtime boyfriend and child's father, Roddrick. However, when she realizes that she has given too much of herself, only to receive too little in return, letting go and moving on seems next to impossible... until she meets him. Major is tall, handsome, rich, and very much unavailable. He introduces her to a life she never knew existed, a high she never wanted to come down from, and the most drama she’s ever experienced in her life. After almost losing everything — including her housing, her sanity, and her life — she realizes that she needs to reevaluate her choices. But will it be too late? Find out in the African American Women's Fiction standalone, The Autobiography of a Project Chick.

It could of been better

All I gotta say is Bianca a snake I didn't like her after she basically slept with her friend baby daddy and honestly didn't care....... I mad what happened with Reds I feel like Bianca & Major didn't deserve an happy ended... Coco was the only one who mad a drastic change for the better. Janiah actually took Tommy back after all that disrespect and cheating and lies.....

What does loyalty mean?

Well done ladies. Where do I start? These three young ladies, were friends that formed a sense a loyalty and friendship, that had been tried again and again. Each girl had their own situations that had them Get tested for how loyal they were. There was also a tri with each of their relationships. With Bianca she had such a toxic relationship with God that she felt in order to stay loyal shead to do whatever he wanted. Rod had broken Bianca down so much that she felt she couldn't do any better. Then here comes Major, a man that has her believing she is worth something and her worth is much better than she knows. The catch is he has a situation that should be taboo to her but they both fell in love with one another. People got hurt in the process and her friends didn't like how she played her hand although, Major and Bianca chose love and even though they went through hell from Rod and Red she was Majors baby mother they still stayed together and raised their kids together. We're they wrong? That's something only they can answer one day. What I will say is they seemed to bring the best out in one another.
Coco was a hustler that was beautiful and it was nothing to get a man to take care of her, she only did what she thought would get her out the projects , Flex was the guy that took her away from them, once she left she was his property so he felt what he did to get her he didn't have to continue to respect her. She found solace in someone else which made her life a living hell. She knew what she did was wrong but it was a case of do as I say not as I do in Flex eyes. Flex discarded her and then wanted her back. Coco ended up back where she said she would never go. Back to the projects with her mother, who always told Coco she didn't trust him. Coco and her mom didn't have the best relationship, but when tragedy struck she realized how much she actually loved her mom. She went through so many emotions concerning her mom's demise, becoming homeless, and trying to get her life back on track. She meets someone that showed her what she was worth , they begin a relationship and all was well until she found out a secret he was keeping. Once she found out what she felt at first was disloyalty until she listened to Axel Coco followed her heart took a chance to start over and it worked for her.
Janiah was such a loyal woman who felt Tommy loved her and their family but Tommy, has a whole other situation going on that almost cost Janiah her life. Janiah wanted better for her and her children she was going to school, had distanced herself from Tommy 's dysfunctional self met a good man that showed her how to be loved, and what she was worth. Tommy on the other hand wasn't letting go. Janiah and Tommy were in a very bad situation. Janiah realized her heart loved Tommy nor than the other man and it seems Tommy learned to love Janiah as she should be loved. Against all odds ,they seemed to do better the second time around.
It seems although the ladies came from the projects their journey took them on test with friendship, loyalty, understanding, drama and at the end they all got love. What a great ending to a great story. Great Job ladies.

Project Chicks

Shontaiye Moore, Shanice B., and Danielle Marcus did an outstanding job with this book. I couldn't put this book down. It is definitely a page turner. All three of these ladies had it rough and wanted a way out the projects. You would think that with men by their side with a lil money then they had it made. Them niccas were bogus, lame dogg ass fu🗣k bois. For five years Flex took excellent care of CoCo, she had a nice house, designer clothes, fancy car, money,. But at what cost? The cheating, lies, the wife she didn't know about at first, the loneliness. When she sought attention from another he beat her ass, then put her out with nothing but the clothes on her back. He even took her car back. So back to the projects for her. It was downhill from there. The loss of her mother, cousin and home but the silver lining was Axle. Axle became all she needed and more. Tommy lived a double life Janiah and his whole relationship. Niah had no clue of Toya and Tommy ten year relationship. Finding out Toya was pregnant broke Janiah and she didn't want anything to do with Tommy. He didn't see it that way, he went crazy, obsessive and abusive. She didn't know who to fear more ,Tommy or Toya. Trying to move on with Vontae only to find out he's Tommy's cousin and he's married broke her even more. I really don't know if Tommy deserved a second chance but he did save her life when Toya tried to kill her but I hope he learned his lesson about playing with people feelings. Roddrick did nothing but verbally, mentally and physically abuse Bianca. She put Rod before everyone and everything including her freedom. Red was Rod's sister and Major's baby mama. Now I know she was wrong, hell she knows she was wrong, but what is someone to do when the person that's really meant for them is off limits. I guess do what they did an accept all consequences to their actions.💜💜

A MUST READ

Men will lie, cheat, and beat on you and the moment you find your strength to leave. They'll start acting crazy by becoming obsessive and stalker's. When Janiah found out Tommy betrayal. She walked away without hesitation. Tommy couldn't handle that. He became angry, disrespectful, and destructive. Tommy also had a jealous ex that was causing drama with Janiah to the point she was fed up. Dealing with Vontae. Janiah thought she found the one until his secrets came out as well. Coco messed up with Flex but he didn't have to go as far as he did. It seems once her and Flex ended. Coco was going through it. Lawddddd Bianca and Roddrick was toxic as hell. She sold her self worth and self respect trying to hold on to his disrespectful behind. Now I was all for her leaving him alone. However Major should've been off limit's. Bianca was scandalous for that. Red had every right to be in her feelings and upset but running high off emotions caused her to her someone near and dear to her

Hood Rats

This book should’ve been called Autobiography of a Hood Rat. These girls were so dumb and pathetic. Bianca was a downright scandalous, skanky, no moral having hood rat. Coco was just plain dumb to let someone record her and to not have a back up plan. Janiah was so stupid and didn’t have any street smarts. I cringed reading this book because of how stupid these women were

Page turner

These three friends faced a lot of things in the projects (the King houses). Coco lost everything by cheating on Flex with Magnum and their video was leaked. Flex stripped her of everything and she was back in the projects to her mom house. Janiah life came crashing down when Tommy's crazy ex inserted herself in the picture. Toya went out the way to let Janiah know she was pregnant by Tommy. Bianca was loyal to Roderick but he was using her, glad she realized her worth with the help of Major. Coco lost her mom and cousin but gained a husband, Janiah almost lost her life dealing with Toya but Tommy took the bullet meant for her and Toya took her life, Vontae wants to be the man in Janiah life but she can't leave tommy alone after everything he's put her through. Bianca finally really her worth and dropped Roderick and is happy with Major.

The Story

The story was to slow. It didn’t seem realistic, it just wasn’t a good read. Personally I wouldn’t recommend it.

🔥🔥Page turner🔥🔥

Janiah, Coco and Bianca went thru hell and back!! The betrayal from their men, disloyalty, verbal and mental abuse was enough to make a sane person go crazy. They knew their worth and once they left those situations, the tables slowly started turning for the good. Honestly, you cant help who you fall for, and ultimately Bianca and Coco found new loves that added value to their lives. Janiah found new love with an old flame. Great work from these authors, surely to have you going thru all emotions.

Well done ladies. This book kept my attention from the beginning to the end. I thought it was a little predictable, but the surprises made the book so much better. Bianca, Coco, and Janiah went through everything that was meant to destroy them and are still standing. Bianca and Coco moved on from the past and started over. Janiah decided to stick by her man after all the drama he put her through for whatever reason...I rarely give 5 stars to a book, but this one was well deserved.

I feel like I’ve read this before

I read a book in the past that was kind of similar to this. However this book was better easy to follow along and I like how they stayed on point with each one of their characters really good read.

Project Chick

This book turned out be better than I expected. Even thur the havoc everyone remained strong and had a good out come. With Blanca and Majors situation brought back remembers of a friend that went thur the same ordeal. No one landed in jail. However, it took my homegirl a mintue to accept she lost her man to her bestie. In the long run she was better off because the guy left the bestfriend 6 months later. I guess a lesson was learned but only that bestie can tell you what that lesson was. I really enjoyed this book and will check out a few more of your books. Nice work.😁

Ok..

So Coco Aunt refused a half a million? Ok.. So m e stuff in the book was unrealistic. These men and baby daddy's had mini mansions but these women loved in the projects. I like the book nonetheless. Hannah went through all that just to be back with Tommy. I liked Bianca and Major together. You change for who you love. I can see a part two if the Author's wanted to do it. I recommend this book!
