A queen's favor sets a fae prince and a warlock con artist on the road to love.
Ash learned his magic on the streets. His mother died young, and the magical guild who exiled them both for her affair with his married father offered no aid. He's more grifter than warlock, but he'll do what it takes to survive.
When the queen of Faerie demands a favor, he agrees to house her son.
But why would a fae prince care about how mortals love?
Voski hates fae court. Hiding his emotions and disguising lies in half truths exhausts him, but as the queen's only son, he refuses to abandon his people. When his fated mate proves not to be in Faerie, he has no choice but to go to the mortal world.
But magic is hidden in the mortal realm, and the fae prince has no idea how times have changed. When his mother introduces him to a clever warlock outside of the guild, Voski expects an ally and teacher.
So why does Ash fit so perfectly in Voski's arms?
Their world-wide tour of romance becomes a love story all its own!
The Fae Prince's Fated Mate is a gay fantasy romance with high heat, a HEA, and mpreg.
Ash is the son of a witch who fell for a mated warlock and saw herself excommunicated as a result. He grew up in the mortal world with little understanding of his abilities and even less connection to his own people, but he’s managed to make it work. Or at least he did until the Faerie queen showed up in his apartment and demanded that he help her son find his mate among the humans. Voski is all too happy to escape the confines of fae society and experience what life can be like when you’re actually allowed to enjoy it. Ash is meant to be teaching him about love, but they’ll soon find out that the master can learn just as much from the student.
This book was a departure from the previous ones in this loosely connected series in that it took place primarily in our world. Ash and Voski went on a tour of famous romantic landmarks around the world and took joy in watching romcoms together. With his ability to see the strings that bind people together (and how easily they can unravel), it was no surprise that Ash would be cynical about the idea of fated mates. I loved that Voski was such a sparkly romantic. He took delight in challenging Ash’s beliefs instead of getting worn down by them. They were a great complement to each other.
Previous characters were alluded to in passing, but my understanding is that they lived multiple generations before Ash and Voski. I liked the glimpses of modernity I got to see here, but I’m so attached to the magical world and everything that’s been introduced this far that I hope that future installments return the focus there.

When fae prince Voski can't find his fated mate among his own people, he sets out to search in the mortal world. His mother, the queen of Faerie, demands that Ash be his guide. Ash is more than a little jaded about love after being exiled with his mother after her affair with his mated father, but he agrees. Voski is a perfect foil to Ash as he cheerfully seeks his mate. Opposites do attract, and their adventures together are amusing, entertaining and...hot. Voski may end up a little surprised at where his search leads, and Ash may get a new perspective on love. Sometimes what you are looking for (or not) is right in front of you. I really enjoyed Ash and Voski, and their sweet, hot romance.

I really liked this story, there was a sweetness to the story between Ash and Voski that I wasn't expecting. I felt bad for Ash, the way he was exiled based on his parents' decisions, but I thought he did a good job a building a life for himself even without the support of the guild. His outlook on life was a bit tarnished, but it was clear he still had a good heart. Voski clearly needed someone in his corner, just someone there to support him. I liked the way their friendship developed through the story, it helped make the end more satisfyingly.
There are some references to characters from other stories, but I think this would hold up well as a stand-alone.
This was a lively and enchanting read. The couple was so fun. Their interactions and their love story. Complete opposites but perfectly meshed. I would definitely read another book by this writer.

DNF at 70%. Just could not get into this book. I really did not like either of the main characters I found them unlikeable and mostly annoying in a way I simply could not connect with them at all. And the storyline. Sigh. Nope just not the book for me.
