Join us back in Pacific Bay for BETWEEN RAINS, the story of Rhett Duvall and his family who run the local oyster farm. When Rhett is forced to leave his high-powered private equity firm in Chicago, he returns to the small coastal town where he grew up, totally unprepared for how quickly things get complicated…or, that he might find himself falling for a certain woman who also recently moved back to town.
Kellie Coates Gilbert has won readers’ hearts with her compelling and highly emotional stories about women and the relationships that define their lives. A former legal investigator, she is especially known for keeping readers turning pages and for creating nuanced characters who seem real.
In addition to garnering hundreds of five-star reviews, Kellie has been described by RT Book Reviews as a “deft, crisp storyteller.” Her books were featured as Barnes & Noble Top Shelf Picks and were awarded a coveted spot on the Library Journal’s Best Book List.
Born and raised near Sun Valley, Idaho, Kellie now lives with her husband of over thirty-five years in Dallas, where she spends most days by her pool drinking sweet tea and writing the stories of her heart.
Kellie Coates Gilbert is an amazing story teller, and this last book in the Pacific Bay series is not an exception. The story is told from the male perspective, and we know his innermost thoughts. The entire story and characters are realistic, and you can’t help feel the characters are your friends. The story also delves into how a dementia diagnosis can affect not only the victim, but also the family. I recommend this book and series to anyone who is interested in short emotional stories about second chances.
I love visiting Pacific Bay , All the characters are wonderful, real, complex individuals whom lives are as real as any.I really liked Rhett's story, being told from a man's perspective was a nice change , I also liked that the Author included a very real Medical issue that is plaguing our elderly, no one talks about Dementia much in books ,so this was nice to get the issue out in the open.Overall the storyline was about family, and second chances ,Perfect read !
Greatly enjoyed another special story. Characters jump off the page because you know most of them. I've really enjoyed finding this author last year and highly recommend Mother of Pearl. Started it at difficult time but finished it through tears and healing. She puts heart in her people.
