Millie's Awesome Holiday Miracle-

Cassidy is single mom raising a  precocious little girl with no limits to her imagination and doing a smashing job. She’s starting her own business,  making a place for herself and her little imp in their new hometown,  and heading into the holidays like a whirlwind while she’s trying to help the town council plan a fund raising party.
Rick returns home like the prodigal son he his to take measure of his family’s business and figure out whether it can be saved or what the next move will be.
Nancy has created a wonderful story of instant infatuation and the hopes of Christmas miracles soon follow.  Even if you don’t know that you need a little magic in your life, there’s always the sparkle of fairy glitter that gives it away.
Who doesn’t need a bit of fairy magic, wish sticks,  with a miracle thrown in.  I loved this sweet story and hope to see more of the characters in this collection of short stories all set in the same quaint town in New England

Angel kisses & Holiday Wishes

Peggy Jaeger brings to life a story of a young sweet but lost love. One that might have a spark of renewed and lasting love.
Dr Sage Hamilton has come back to the hometown she swore she’d never return to. One where she had left so many years ago and yet never really lost in her heart. Picking up the pieces of your shattered life is one way to get you to a different latitude even if you’ve sworn it off.
Keith Mills returns to his hometown after his precious grandmother is taken to the hospital. Upon learning that his old flame is her Doctor, Keith has a gambet of emotions run through his very core.
Bringing old feelings in to the light is just what these two need to open themselves up to a bit of Christmas miracle. And if angels are watching over them then someone’s holiday wish might come true.
Peggy did a great job with drawing us into the lives and characters of Dickens. This small town return to love story is a sweet, tear inducing, heart warming, Christmas miracle waiting to happen.
Short stories are a great quick escape. Don’t miss your chance to fall in love with a little slice of small town New England in Christmas comes to Dickens

Maddie James' Miracle at Holly Hill Inn is a beautiful and heart-warming Christmas romance novella, part of this wonderful multi-author Christmas Comes to Dickens holiday-themed anthology. Ariana Angelo arrives in the small New England town of Dickens to capture the magic of a small-town Christmas for her blog. Matt Mathews owns the town hardware store, and is anything but festive when it comes to the holidays. Ariana and Matt's meet-cute is absolutely adorable and entertaining, though romance is hardly on either's mind as their exchange ends with her calling him a Scrooge. Ariana checks into Holly Hill Inn for her stay and is instantly welcomed like family by the inn's owner Kat and her six-year-old daughter Aimee. When a snow storm hits, Matt ends up at the inn - Kat is his sister, and the inn was his childhood home. In close quarters, Matt and Ariana have no choice but to co-exist, and before long her excitement over Christmas becomes contagious.

There is a beautiful romance that blooms when two characters have the kind of chemistry that Matt and Ariana have. But beyond that, this is a story about family and the wonderful magic of the Christmas season.

Miracle at Holly Hill Inn

When two people have different opinions about a holiday things may not turn out for the best. Ariana Angelo is a blogger who loves Christmas. She loves to take pictures and write for her audience. Matt Mathews owns a hardware store in town that his parents left to him. He hates Christmas and anything that has to do with it. He has his reasons, but is not willing to tell his story behind it.
Ariana checked into the Holly Hill Inn where Matts sister owns and loves the place right away. The people treat her as family except him. He thinks she needs to go home and leave things the way they were.
Will Ariana convince Matt that Christmas is a special occasion or will he remain unhappy every year?

Christmas Comes to Dickens is the Hallmark Channel at Christmas compiled in one book! I loved this anthology and the town of Dickens as a whole. The concept of each story connected by the town and one holiday was so smart and fun to read. Love story after love story came together to give you a feeling of Christmas magic in this little town. Two novellas in particular struck a chord with me. First was Angel Kisses and Holiday Wishes by Peggy Jaeger. The magic of the Christmas holiday came alive when Sage and Keith reconnected after years and discovered their childhood love for each other had only grown stronger with time and distance. Second was Millie's Awesome Holiday Miracle by Nancy Fraser. Anyone who has ever been a single mom or loved a single mom will be swept up and joyful over the love Rick discovers for Cassie and Millie. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a story that gives Millie and Cassie a better life?

As I was telling my cousin about this book she said it sounded like next years Hallmark movie! Bring on the town of Dickens and it’s quirky characters.
In Millie’s Awesome Holiday Miracle, a little girl and her mom help revive life into a CEO who believes his families toy company will be closing. A sweet love story and a feisty girl who will have you wishing too.
Angel Kisses and Holiday Wishes brings you a second chance love story. Sage and Keith were childhood sweethearts that were dealt a blow when young. Life and an ailing grandmother bring them together again, where they get to sort out their past and hopefully their future.
I cannot wait to read the remaining stories and meet the rest of Dickens!

This review is for Miracle at Holly Hill Inn
The author brings a modern day version of Scrooge in this short novella. Ariana loves Christmas .. Matt hates it. Needless to say - they clash. So what happens when they're both stranded at his sister's Inn during a snowstorm? Can she change his mind or go home like he wishes she would? I loved reading their story and would highly recommend.

Handsome John Gridley returns home after many years to help his father with the family Christmas tree farm. Arriving back in the Town of Dickens just before Christmas, he is not sure what to expect, having left abruptly.
He certainly never expected to crash into the beautiful widow, Heather Murphy, who lives with her ten-year old daughter Hailey. Heather runs the Town's bookshop and has been alone for five years. This unexpected meeting begins to change the lives of these two lonely people for better and mend family fences that will be sure to bring future happiness. While getting to know each other, they have an important and urgent mission to accomplish - Operation Snowball!
This wonderful love story written by Kathryn Hills, will have you smiling as you turn the pages. Her writing is so descriptive, that when I closed my eyes, I could easily see the Town of Dickens, the Christmas trees and all the lights too. It's a heart-warming tale full of emotion, with great characters and humorous conversations.
This book is like a Hallmark film that will leave you wanting more. I absolutely loved it!

Gotta be honest, if an anthology has a Liz Flaherty novel included, I'm all in, and Christmas Comes To Dickens does not disappoint. I loved the small town charm, the holiday spirit, and all the fun the authors had with Charles Dickens's work as they created delightful stories and a warm and touching community. There's everything from snow-bound protagonists to second chances for old lovers to rescuing a toy factory as well as lots of holiday magic! And bonus--there's even a cookie book, so make sure you grab it, too, and munch sweet treats while you're curled up next to a warm fireplace enjoying Christmas in Dickens!

This review focuses solely on only the first story in the collection, “Millie’s Awesome Holiday Miracle," by Nancy Fraser.

This was the perfect story to get me in to mood for the holidays!!

With everything going on in the world today and holidays having to be canceled or postponed, I wasn’t exactly feeling the holiday spirit – until after enjoying this read!!

This is a “super quick, I can’t put it down,” kind of read that had me completely glued to the pages!! I honestly was planning on just starting it and reading a couple chapters before bed. I had no idea that Nancy was going to keep me up wayyyy past my bedtime as I read this in just one sitting!!!

If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that I’ve started reading and reviewing more of Nancy’s books lately. Even though this is the shortest book of hers I’ve read, it is truly my favorite!!

I absolutely LOVED the characters!!! Cassidy “Cass,” Kean; her adorable 5-year-old daughter, Millie; the super handsome and charismatic Rick Barret, aka “Mr. Big Shot Toy Guy,” lol; the eccentric, but enduring friend/neighbor, Frances; the sweet, young friend/employee, Kenzie; Rick’s charming father, William, aka “Mr. Bob,” and of course, Bennie the pet turtle and the beautifully exquisite pony, Max.

Millie was such a joy to read about and she had me laughing so many times throughout the story!! She was a very well-written and realistic five-year-old. I could easily feel like many of those dialogues could have been exact conversations with my little cousins.

I loved the relationship between Cass and Rick!! The relationship built up at a slower, but more than realistic speed, especially when there is a child involved. It felt genuine and sincere. I loved the romance, and all the little things Rick went out of his way to do for Cass and Millie. It was surprising that Rick, who is not a “kid person,” and not a long-term relationship kind of guy could so quickly change his ways. However, with Rick’s dad handing down the reins of their family toy company to him, it seemed like this would be when Rick would start to grow up more and settle down into his new life in Dickens, now that he decided to stay in town and keep the shop open.

I loved the holiday magic and Christmas spirit that is significantly brought out in this story!! Everything from the wish sticks, to the Christmas tree lighting, to the revamp of an old-toy shop getting a second chance. There is just so much to love about this book and enjoy reading!!

There are not many books that I re-read, however, I think this one will definitely be an exception!!!

This book is not technically part of a book series; however, it is part of a book set collection. It can absolutely be read on its own without any issues. In addition, the other stories in the anthology are revolved around the same sweet town of Dickens and can be read in addition or as standalone.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this novella and would absolutely recommend it! I think all contemporary romance and holiday book fans will like this book too! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading - you won't be disappointed!

Miracle at Holly Hill Inn by Maddie James is part of the Christmas Comes to Dickens holiday anthology. If you're looking for a sweet and charming Hallmark-like holiday story, look no further. The first meeting of Matt and Ariana, while not quite romantic, was certainly adorable. Love was definitely not on their minds when they parted company. Despite that, there was no doubt they had amazing chemistry. As these two get stuck together in close quarters and they get to know each other better, a beautiful relationship blossoms. This is definitely a feel-good book that's great to settle down with when you just need a break from it all. Delightful story I would definitely recommend!

Millie's Awesome Christmas Miracle--Miracle At Holly Hill Inn--Holiday Hearts--The Tinsel Tango--Wisdom of the Heart

Millie's Awesome Christmas Miracle: A Dickens Holiday Novella (Wil-Bar Toys Book 2) by Nancy Fraser
OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES, GENTLEMEN
Cassidy Kean and her five-year-old daughter, Millie, live in Dickens. Cassidy has started her own business, CK Planners, which she operates out of their home. She is helping the town, via the town council, with a fund-raiser to replace holiday decorations. She will go to Wil-Bar Toy, but the assistant has turned her away—and then Rick Barrett will come and speak to her—buying two tables for the event.
“After all, Dickens exuded small-town charm, camaraderie, and a friendly everybody-knows-everybody atmosphere.”
Rick Barrett has come back to Dickens from where he lives in New York and has recently sold his high-tech business. He is the CEO of Wil-Bar and they are discussing the future of the company since most children want electronic toys.
This was a fun story that got me in my feels, especially at the end. I liked the characters and their interactions. Will Rick isn’t someone who has ever really been around children, he takes a liking to Millie and her endearing ways. While meeting with Cassidy in town, she brings Millie, and seeing the delight of Christmas through her eyes is an eye-opening experience. Rick is enamored with Cassidy and understands that it will include Millie. He has fun buying her an ornament for their Christmas tree that she sees.
“Look, Momma. They’ve got a fairy ornament with brown hair just like mine.”
Rick, Cass, and Millie go to the tree lighting ceremony, build a snowman together, and make memories. When Cass is hired to do a dinner for the employees at Wil-Bar, she is asked to bring Millie with her. Millie will be given a tour of the plant, see some of the products, and even play with a train with William Barrett. But it is some of the insights from listening to Millie that give the Barrett men encouragement for the future of the company. Best of all is when Cass, Millie, and Frances are invited to spend the day with the Barretts at their home. But don’t forget about Millie’s ‘Wish Stick’ and does it work?

Miracle At Holly Hill Inn by Maddie James
ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS, ALL YEAR LONG
Adriana Angelo is a blogger who loves to focus on Christmas. She enjoys traveling in search of the perfect Christmas locations. She will be visiting Dickens and spending Christmas there. She is booked at Holly Hill Inn. But before going to the Inn, she plans on visiting around the town of Dickens—see the gazebo, Christmas tree, and lights.
Matt Matthews runs the local hardware store in Dickens. The month of December is so slow, that he doesn’t even know why he stays open. He has the only business in town that doesn’t waste its time on decorating for Christmas.
“I believe we have a modern-day Scrooge on our hands here.”
The story will have Adriana excited about being in Dickens and everything she sees. She loves everything about Christmas, and this little town is living up to its reputation. The only sore spot is while she is at Leslie’s Bakery to get a coffee and treat, she deals with a Scrooge of a man—Bah humbug! What a shock to come out of the bakery and the snow is coming down so heavily, and the wind is blowing. She puts the address in the GPS and heads to Holly Hill Inn. There she meets Kat and her daughter, Aimee. Before you know it, the three of them are in the kitchen baking cookies together. What a shock when Kat’s brother shows up, and it is the Scrooge from town.
“Thank you both for letting me be part of this day.”
“Suddenly, she knew that she had found the perfect Christmas, and it wasn’t in Dickens—it was here at Holly Hill Inn. Christmas wasn’t only about tinsel and snow globes and mistletoe—it was about family and relationships.”
The story is mystery, and suspense, with angst and memories. Just when Adriana and Matt seem to be getting along well, one minor item will turn everything sour. Matt will storm out in a fit of anger and hurt. Kat tries to tell Adriana it isn’t her fault—but she knows it is. Now, she has caused hurt to this family. It is best if she leaves and heads to Boston for Christmas and then back to California. From a wonderful day of decorating the inn, everything has changed. Will Adriana and Matt find a chance to make things right before it is too late?

Holiday Hearts by Caroline Clemmons
MAKING NEW MEMORIES
Laura Jordan was raised in Dickens. The town and traditions have always been special to her. But the last few years she has struggled with Christmas—even when spending it with her best friend and her family. Having lost her parents and sister in an accident, it just doesn’t feel right. The one very happy spot in her life is her job working at the Callahan Group advertising agency.
Ward Callahan and his college roommate, Vince, started making plans for a business before they completed college. Callahan Group has done well and employs a handful of people. The ad agency is successful and gaining industry recognition. After the death of his stepfather, he moves his mother, Doris, to town in a nice apartment building with a doorman.
The story will have Laura and Helen out for a day shopping when Helen is called and asked to work a shift at the hospital due to illness. While Laura plans to shop, she witnesses a man push a lady down and keep on going. Going to her aid, the woman is hurt but doesn’t want an ambulance, and instead, Laura and her go to the hospital by a cab. It turns out they live in the same building, so Laura will help settle her new friend into her apartment, and go often to check on her, bring her meals, and spend time with her.
The story has a touch of mystery, secrets, and not one but two romances. Vince needs Ward’s help to avoid going to see his family for the holidays—and it turns out that he uses the name of Helen—and then meets her. I loved the characters and their chemistry. When two childhood friends and two college roommates/business owners meet, date, and find love, it adds double the fun.

The Tinsel Tango: A Dickens Holiday Novella by Bonnie Edwards
JAZZED FOR CHRISTMAS
The story will have Brenna James coming to Dickens much earlier than she normally would have for Christmas. She is burned out at work, up for a promotion she truly wants, and her boss sends her home early—to get herself together. On her first day back, stopping in at Dorit’s Diner, she sees her aunt and meets a stranger, Jett Smith. She is prepared for the annual James Family Christmas in Dickens.
Jett Somers is in Dickens on a mission but isn’t using his real surname then. He is teaching private Tango lessons at Tiny Tims, and going by Jett Smith. One of his new students is Brenna James—the lady he met at Dorit’s. Christmas is mostly a mystery to him. Raised in the foster system, it was a family day that he never felt like it fit in. But coming to Dickens is a mission to find Billie Adamson.
The story is mystery, suspense, secrets, and discoveries. I liked the surprises that Jett experienced by being with Brenna and her family. The entire town of Dickens is one adventure after another. Just going to the tree lighting was a huge event for him.
Jett: I’m so happy. I’ve never seen anything like this. All these people coming just to see some lights?
Brenna: Dickens is all about Christmas. The cheer, the decorations, the family time. It’s full of wonderful family memories for me.
Jett: Nice.
Brenna: Did you have a happy childhood?
Jett: I got through. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I wanted to be in charge of my life.
The story will be a journey for Jett and Brenna as they start doing things together. For Jett, it is all new, but exciting. They will even be involved in family outings, including picking out the annual Christmas tree. But Jett is in Dickens to try and find Billie Adamson who he interacted with online. Billie’s idea for a longer-lasting battery is noteworthy, and something Jett would be interested in financing—if he can only find him. But will a misunderstanding and accusations come with a nasty stigma and ruin his chances, not only with Billie—but with Brenna? In the end, Brenna will discover that work isn’t everything—and maybe there is a future with Jett.

Wisdom of the Heart by Liz Flaherty
CARDINALS MEAN GOOD LUCK, LOYALTY, AND LOVE
The story brings back together two high school sweethearts in the town of Dickens. This is an emotional story that has good and bad, along with an ugly secret from the past. It is two people reconnecting, seeing how they feel since being apart for the past twenty years—and how life has treated them—and where they want the future to go.
Fiadh ‘Fee’ Brady returned to Dickens and opened a quilt shop, Silver Threads & Golden Needles. She is a single mother who has raised her daughter, Ailey, to be a strong, independent woman. Ailey is a veterinarian student at Michigan State but she will be studying in Ireland for a year on a work-study program.
Jed Healy loved photography as a kid, and wanted to make a career out of it—which he did. His parents have left Dickens, and all that is left is the family lake camp. While Jed has a home in Oregon, he is gone overseas on assignments, it is just a place to rest until the next assignment. He did marry a woman who had two sons, but she has since passed away. The boys call Jed ‘Pops.’ A return to Dickens will have him assess the lake camp and decide what he wants to do with his future.
The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly in life. My heart hurt for the pain that Fee suffered, and how she did the best for her and her daughter. She has devoted her life to raising Ailey and giving her a happy childhood. She has kept up with bits and pieces of Jed’s life, because of his photography, and published books, she knows a little bit of his past.
What a surprise when Jed and Fee come back into contact again. While many things have changed, some things are still like before—the ease of talking with one another. Seeing her shop, and tasting her wonderful gingerbread is the beginning for them.
“There’s magic in Christmas, you know, Jed. All you have to do is find it.”
It was fun watching Fee and Jed together. Recreating fond memories from the past—attending the tree lighting ceremony, skating on the pond, and spending time together. I loved how Jed and Ailey had a surprise for Fee to help her while Ailey is away in Ireland. Now that they are adults, they can move forward in a relationship, even if it is a fleeting one. The fact is, Jed’s work will take him away, and Fee’s home and work are in Dickens. But what if there was a way they could make it all work?
“Let me do this now before I lose my nerve. As you know, I’m not always the most dependable of people, but I want to be, because I want you to depend on me and I want to depend on you. All of you, too. Family isn’t necessarily convenient and the members of it aren’t always ones you’d have chosen if you had first pick. But a wise woman talked to me about last and best loves. You are all my best ones and Fiadh, you are my last one, just as you were my first.”
Best of all, this story does grant the reader the coveted happily ever after ending we crave.

TEN DICKENS ROMANCE NOVELLAS

Operation Snowball: A Dickens Holiday Novella by Kathryn Hillis
FINDING WHAT’S MISSING
The story will have John Gridley returning to Dickens to help his father, Tom, with Gridley Meadows Farm in December. He has been away for years—since the death of his mother. Even after his time ended in the military, he didn’t come home. But when his father called asking for help, he didn’t hesitate to do so.
Widow Heather Murphy and her daughter, Hailey, came to Dickens after the death of David Murphy for a new start and to be away from overbearing in-laws. She took the insurance money and purchased a building and opened The Library Cat Bookstore. Heather and Hailey live in an apartment over the bookstore.
The story will have John entering Dickens and noticing a young girl hanging up signs for a missing cat. He feels for the little girl and her dedication. A phone call to his former girlfriend will have him knowing he made the right decision to leave and return to Dickens. Heather had promised David before he passed that she would carry on traditions with Hailey—like getting a fresh Christmas tree. They will go to Gridley Meadows to pick out a tree, and for Heather to drop off books that Tom wants for their little gift shop. The last thing she expected was to be run into by John Gridley—but it turns out to be a good thing in the end.
I liked the characters, their interactions, and the traditions that take place in Dickens. Heather, Hailey, and John will do several things together—besides picking out the ‘perfect Christmas tree’, taking a horse-drawn sleigh ride, and attending the tree lighting ceremony. The more time they spend together, the closer they become. There are even several scenes where they are with ‘Pops’ for dinners. The story is a spicy-sweet second chance holiday story. But will Hailey ever find her missing cat, Snowball?

Angel Kisses and Holiday Wishes: Christmas Comes to Dickens by Peggy Jaeger
SECOND CHANCES FOR A HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Childhood sweethearts, Sage Timm and Keith Mills were the first of many things for each other. Sadly, she says goodbye, a clean break—and breaking both their hearts. Twenty years later, Sage has returned to Dickens as the town’s physician.
Dr. Sage Hamiliton will get an emergency call that one of her octogenarian patients, Corrine Mills, took a bad fall, breaking her hip. Sage will be at the hospital running tests, needing to know what happened to cause Corrine to pass out. She will also learn that Corrine’s grandson was also called and on his way.
“If I’ve learned anything this past year it’s that happiness is a choice. You can either wallow in sorrow, live with regrets, or move forward.”
Keith Mills arrives expecting Dr. Martin, but instead faces Sage, and learns she is now Corrine’s doctor. Together they will go see Corrine when she comes out of surgery and is in recovery, but she isn’t waking up—sometimes with elderly patients, it takes longer.
The story is an emotional reunion between sweethearts that went separate ways. They learn about each other, careers, and failed marriages. No matter how much time, the chemistry is still there. Before they can even think about themselves, they must focus on Corrine and helping her. The story will cover what happened before the breakup, why they never found one another, and what they both want for the future. Yes—you do get the coveted happy ending.

Holly’s Wish by Kathleen Lawless
SERENDIPITY WILL BRING US TOGETHER
The story is a sweet, clean contemporary second-chance romance during the Christmas holiday season. Nic will come to visit his sister and twin sons for Christmas since her husband is deployed overseas. He has spent the last five-plus years working and building his career—at the cost of missing out on the family.
"Anything is possible with the magic of Christmas."
Nicholas 'Nic' is visiting his sister, Sherry, and finds himself helping decorate the Christmas tree. As they decorate and he sees the ornaments from the past, he feels he needs to get Sherry and each of the twins a new one, to start their tradition. A long-standing tradition had Nic sending his mother a new ornament each year. But, when shopping, he sees a small angel ornament and, for some odd reason and is compelled to buy it too. He ends up giving it to Holly, and it is perfect for her tree.
"It’s always good to follow your impulses.”
“They say everything happens for a reason.”
The story’s plot will have Nic home for Christmas and learning the joy of family and traditions again. He will also meet Holly and discover her giving heart, helping others, and he can’t help but want to be around her. When she is injured, Nic convinces her that he is there to help, that she doesn’t have to do it alone, and that Christmas will be made merrier for those less fortunate.
“It’s okay, Holly. You don’t need to do everything alone. You’ve got me to help.”
The past and present will collide, and slowly a previous encounter will be revealed. Will Nic discover the missing piece that he has been searching for? Will Holly’s wishes bring her a happily ever after? Will a Christmas gift bring happiness and sweet memories?
“Don’t think. Listen. This is a first edition; very rare. I’ve been keeping it for her, for when the time is right. When her wish came true. It is a book about wishing.”
I loved the characters and how the story unfolded. Nic has been searching for a special girl, and all he had to do was visit family in the town of Dickens for Christmas. Wishes do come true.

Holiday Heart Wishes: A Clean Small Town Christmas Romance by Lucinda Race
OPERATION SLOW DOWN
The story will have Vera Davis coming home for Christmas. On the way, she will see a truck on the side of the road with the hood up. While she will stop, she is cautious and agrees to call into town for a tow but rather than leave, she pulls in behind the truck with her flashers on. When a local cop comes by, he promises Tony to have his truck towed and asks Vera to give him a ride to his Uncle’s house.
The story is full of surprises. It seems that Georgia Davis and Frank Barbee are a couple and living in Georgia’s home. Both Vera and Tony are shocked and together, decide they need to see if they can make heads or tales of this situation. Now the Davis home has the four of them under one roof, and together making plans for the various Dickens Christmas events.
Vera: This is a magical time of year and Mom helped me believe that anything is possible.
Tony: Even starting a new business in your hometown?
Vera: Yes. Tomorrow I’m going to talk to Mom about moving home for a while until I can sell my condo. I’ll find a place here and of course, set up my business.
Tony: You’ve set a new course of action. I envy you.
Vera: Jump in; the water’s warm. I thought you were happy living in the city.
Tony: Let’s just say you’re not the only one contemplating a crossroad.
Vera: Tony, remember anything really is possible. You just need to believe in yourself.

Santa’s Wish: A Dickens Holiday Novella by Jan Scarbrough
A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE
The story will have Roz planning to go to Dickens for Christmas due to her grandfather’s advanced dementia. It will be the last Christmas in his home because he is going to a care facility in January. What a shock to get called in by HR and told due to the downsizing, she is being let go from the marketing department. Just when she thought things were bad, she gets an instant message from her boyfriend, dumping her. She will pack her bags and head to Dickens early.
The story is an emotional, bittersweet tale of family, emotions, illness and life. Two sweethearts brought back together, both had matured and had started their own lives without the other, but a connection is still evident. The chemistry is there, the desire is high, and passion takes over.

Love This Holiday-Inspired Box Set

I absolutely adore holiday romances, and I particularly enjoy Christmas box sets that have a thread that binds them together. This box set has more than a thread. It all takes place in the seemingly magical, wonderful town of Dickens. Loved the holiday names of people and places, which certainly added to the holiday cheer. Some story's themes are pulled directly from storylines from that master’s, or I could glean at least a little of his stories’ spirits in them. This box set is infused with the holiday spirit as well, and I enjoyed each author’s perspective on the town and the way that she added her own holiday sparkle to this wonderful setting. I liked every story in this box set, which is unusual for me with a multi-author set. I particularly enjoyed Miracle at Holiday Hill Inn by Maddie James, with a modern take on a “Bah, Humbug!” character. I loved how the heroine could sense the joyful Christmas spirit of the town right away; the hero certainly had his reasons for his Scrooge-like feelings towards the holiday. I also enjoyed Holly's Wish by Kathleen Lawless. I'll admit I'm a sucker for second-chance-at-romance stories, and Dickens at the holidays seems like the perfect place to allow for Christmas magic to help a couple find each other again. I also really liked that the couple's names were Holly and Nic! I cannot recommend this delightful holiday box set enough.

I received a free copy of two stories in this box set (and later purchased the whole thing), but that did not affect my review.

Holiday Heart Wishes - Cute little romance combined with the romance of an older couple. Sweet. Interesting. 4*

A Secret Santa Christmas - This is just the sweetest, most romantic story about Secret Santas. Holly leaves a job in NYC in disgrace and returns her family home in a small town. She discovers secrets, love, friendship, all the important things in life. This is an enjoyable, enchanting story with loveable characters, especially the SS and the helper Elf. 5*

Stars Over Montana - My first read by this author. Although the repetition about their break up from the past got on my nerves, the story is a sweet, interesting second chance for two people that deserve each other. All the characters are interesting, especially several of the support characters. It will be interesting to read their stories. There are emotions covering loss, joy and success, but still a fun read. 4*

Holiday Heart Wishes - Lucinda Race

Holiday Heart Wishes is two love stories that is perfect for the season. Vera is on her way to her mother's when she comes across Tony, whose truck has broken down. She offers to help him out for the night, only to find out the address he was looking for was Vera's mom's home, where his uncle lives.

This is a sweet story and one that will wrap around your heart, but there were times I wanted to say "really" as Vera and Tony were thinking about breaking up Frank and Georgia, even though I understand Vera's thought. The second part of the story is Vera and Tony. As they spent more time together the closer, they got, but they fought their feelings.

Amazing story that takes your heart on a wild ride.
