I can't remember where I read Davoudian's poem "Alibi," but that was the poem that inspired me to check out the rest of the chapbook. There are a lot of elements here that I appreciated (the physicality and musicality, the swan theme, a certain air of mystery), but I also felt like there was something missing, or perhaps a certain distance I was unable to bridge. Looking forward to reading more from this poet in the future though.
Beautiful poetry of which I'd definitely like to know where it goes from here. Its craft reminds me of art academy brilliance, great potential in the starting blocks that is. I particularly loved the first poem "Black Garlic".
