I found this trilogy quite hard going. The author seems to get bogged down in overly descriptive detail which slows the storyline down and is not gripping. If I wanted to read a guide book or get a food review I'd have got those books not a crime drama novel. It became less scene setting and more "look how clever I am to know all this".
The sex scenes were cringe and completely unnecessary. I really didn't get the romance thing at all.
There are also a lot of editing errors and confusing text that makes you question what you've read, and wonder where the other person has come from. The author doesn't seem to want to use a person's name even though she gave it to them.

very enjoyable

This is a great series mixing large elements of thriller, romance,a little espionage and exotic locations. The research into each topic is well done and the individual plots believably written. Definitely a great read for long winter evenings or for sitting by the beach in the summer
