Spellcaster Academy: Episodes 1-8
Magic is real… Too bad I suck at it.
I was a freak from day one – the orphaned, weird kid with ghost-white hair tends to stick out like a sore thumb. So, when a mystery aunt invites me to start a new life, I don’t ask questions. I board a plane. Pronto.
But surprise! *insert sarcasm* It’s all a lie and a bizarre lady in a dusty junk shop basically shoves me into a closet… and I tumble into a magical world.
Which might be awesome, if I weren’t a freak there too. Apparently, at Borealis Academy, my powerful uncle… who I don’t know… wants to blow up the world or something.
*spoiler* He’s the bad guy who wants me to join him in the destruction.
Thank the stars, the academy can't kick me out unless I'm unable to master magic – which, unfortunately, is even more difficult than it sounds.
One bright spot is my broody, hot spellcasting tutor required to help up my skills. Although, he seems to have his own aggravating secrets.
If he’d just let me get close enough I think we could help each other solve our problems.
But my magical and romance troubles are only just beginning when my dark family past catches up with me. Now, I must quickly master my powers, or it could lead to a far worse fate than expulsion…
Since it might be up to me to save everyone.

Wonderful Story!
An interesting story about Josy’s transition from an ordinary girl raised by her grandmother to a shunned 1st year magic student, to something else entirely. Great characters. (Especially Nine, the talking cat!) Lots of action & adventure with enough surprises & twists to keep you on your toes.
Magical Realism - I like it! Enjoyable story about Josy’s introduction to The Magic Side and the Borealis Academy of Magical Arts. Interesting characters and story. I look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Dark Curse - Interesting! Things have changed a bit for Josy since the Morelli attack. And romance is in the air. Interesting information is revealed that explains a few things and sets the stage for what is to come.
Fire & Lightening - Knowledge. The semester progresses as Josy and here friends continue their efforts to gather intelligence and access her magic. Several interesting twists & surprises. Hope?!?
The Shadow Pack - Family - So much family and family secrets revealed. Things are taking shape and getting interesting.
The Dying Realm - Oh My! Old enemies are changing and new allies are found as darkness starts to descend.
Lost and Found - Wow! Lots of action and adventure. New info, new resources, and several surprises.
A Necessary Sacrifice - Rescue! New skills, horror, and a plan. Roadblocks, terror, near-death, and aftermath.
Poison & Lies - The Curse! Cursed, captured & rescued. Then the final battle, hope, a twist, and sacrifice.
Spellcaster Academy Omnibus Book 2 - Jenetta Penner - 5 stars
Excellent! The second half of the story as Josy and her friends & allies try to unite The Side of Magic and stop the Darkness. Wonderful characters. (Nine!) A great conclusion to a very enjoyable story.
The Dying Realm - Oh My! Old enemies are changing and new allies are found as darkness starts to descend.
Lost and Found - Wow! Lots of action and adventure. New info, new resources, and several surprises.

This book was released monthly chapter by chapter. The final release was a compilation of all 8 chapters. I did review 6 chapters individually however I couldn't write on the last 2. So therefore I have put all reviews on here in order.
1. I really enjoyed this book from Jenetta Penner. You can really see from this first book that it is going to grab you. The characters are very likeable especially Nine, the cat!!! I am very much looking forward to the next one!!
2. This book picked up just as the last one finished. The characters are evolving, the plot is getting better and it still finishes with you wanting more. Great writing, the only negative is how quickly this is over!! Can't wait for chapter/book 3!!!
3. Third book in and this is getting better and better. Jenetta Penner is a talented writer and each chapter is brilliant. We are now totally involved in the plot and it is getting deeper and deeper! More questions are coming to light as well as others answered. I love how this story is going!! Roll on number 4!!!!
4. This chapter was fab. Albeit too short!! Learning all about Aspen’s family and a bit more about her uncle. I cannot wait to see where this goes next!! Loving it!!!
5. This was another chapter in a fantastic book. This was yet again short but the story is developing at a faster pace now and I am looking forward to reading the next one!!! Come on Jenetta write quicker!!
6. This book is fantastic, it is great how a chapter is released monthly. Once finished though, you have to wait for the next installment.... that is the hardest part!!!
7. This penultimate chapter is building up to a fantastic conclusion. The plan is formed and everyone knows what is needed to be done. It thoroughly gripped me and as soon as it finished..... I immediately reached for the final part to find out what was going to happen!!!!
8. Wow!! What a finale! It really did have everything. The twist and turns totally got me and I didn't see them coming! This was a great series and I really did enjoy each chapter being released monthly! It kept you hanging on! Great writer, great plot, great narration. Brilliant. Nothing more to say apart from.... READ IT!!!

I listened to the first six books seperately and then was able to get the entire set like this so felt that I should put all the reviews I have already written on here then add my final thoughts for the final two "books/chapters"
Magical Realism
Josy and Aspen are great, and if you want to know who Aspen is you will have to listen to the story to find out just how sarcastically funny he can be while keeping Josy out of trouble
The Dark Curse
We learn more of the life on campus and the relationships that Josy is creating. The character development is moving great throughout the book and you can see that the relationship between Josy and Aspen is becoming more stable
Fire & Lightning
I really enjoy how each one of these episodes are just the right length to take it easy for a enjoyable time. Things start to ramp in in this one, but while things get harder for Josy she still has her friends that stand beside her through thick and thin.
Shadow Pack
Josy gets to meet his family, bond with him more and learn about his true nature. While there is a curse in place we will have to wait to see how everyone handles things in the future
The Dying Realm
Josy and her friends are back after winter break and things are moving at a much faster pace. More problems with the darkness are coming and Josy realizes that things need to change. I can not wait to see what is in store for the next book
Lost & Found
With the four points missing, Josy now has the shifters, Morelli and Magic Society forced together on the side of magic united together before darkness consumes them all. Poor Josy is being pulled in every direction while trying to keep the peace
A Necessary Sacrifice and Poison & Lies are were so great, New skills thrown into the mix while doing a rescue does not help the plan and of course in the end the final battle has twist and turns that no one ever expects.
The narrator does wonderful with all the characters

I listened to this series on audible, and I really enjoyed it! Josey was thrown into the unknown overnight, and I think she handled herself as well as she could. I laughed and scoffed and cried, and I loved every minute!

Was Amazed
These 8 books were really good. They kept me interested the whole time. A lot of action that hooked you from the start.
