A compilation ("Greatest Hits" perhaps, in the parlance of the book) of pieces from the titular blog, this is a fairly random collection of thoughts on the nature of record collecting (vinyl, of course), interspersed with stories of how certain artists came to prominence, the making of specific albums, and actual challenges to purchase records by a specific artist in a given timescale and budget. It's a brisk, fun, conversational read for the target audience, let down primarily by attacks of rather puerile humour, which lost it a 'star' from my rating. I can't help thinking it might have been improved by imposing some kind of narrative structure upon it, but hey, it's a compilation of blog writing, what do I expect?

It's not great art, but just about earns its thin slice on the music reference bookshelf, and it's certainly an ideal gift for the record collector or music obsessive in your life.
