This was such an intensely sweet, passionate Novella.
I'm happy that Hap & Shep found their Cora-Eternal in one another.
Watching the healing process with Hap, and even Shep, with the things that needed mending within them, individually, was a nice journey to witness.
Some very sexy times between these two.
Some very emotional, hilarious, and intense fright as well.
I hate that this one ended so soon, but it was a Novella...
I recommend ALL of these books.

This is my first time reading a MM alien romance, and I am so glad that Ella wrote Hap and Shep's story because I loved it so much! Their relationship seemed to develop so naturally as they both found themselves vulnerable and stripped bare out in the jungle. They both are struggling to find their purpose in life--Hap after suffering a debilitating attack that left him feeling useless and Shep who has spent his recent years as a loner amongst his fellow Drixonians. I loved watching as Hap slowly pulled himself out of his cycle of self-loathing, while Shep allowed himself to find happiness once again. Hap is impossible not to love, and together they were so brilliant with some seriously steamy hookups. I love this series and cannot wait for more!

This was a freebie provided by the author. It really should be read before The Alien's Challenge. It's about Hap and Shep, the Healer. As you read in the previous story Hap was severely injured and Shep helps to heal him physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's a great novella.

Como bien dice la autora, no aporta nada al hilo conductor que siguen el resto de libros de la serie. Es un paréntesis pensado para disfrutar la historia entre Shep y Hap. No obstante, me pareció un poco simplón auqnue entretenido y de rápida lectura.

An mm alien romance - count me in!!
This was an absolutely brilliant addition to the Drixonian world and I was only sad that we didn't get more (though I know the wonderful Hap and Shep won't be going anywhere and I'm sure we will see them again!). A fabulous story that deals with mental health, an age gap (of the alien kind) and two big, beautiful, blue alien's who need each other more than they realise.

Loved these two. It's a shame this is only a novella and also that they're the only MM couple in the series. I have to agree with another reviewer that it was a shame they didn't get loks and share auras like the other couples. There was the opportunity for loks when the pivars attacked.
There were some inconsistencies again.
1) Has Shep been with another male or not? Chp 3 - Shep indicates he's only ever been hard before for his female mate Pava, he also thinks that Hap is the only male who has made him want more. Chp 4 - Shep confirms there has been no other for him apart from his mate Pava - I'm assuming male or female. Later he says he was going to come for the first time with a male, with Hap. Chp 8 - Shep tells Hap that being breached feels good and that he'd done it before Pava. So does that mean he'd been breached and it felt good but that he wasn't attracted to or got hard for the male that breached him? He'd previously said he'd never come with a male so that makes me wonder if the breaching before Pava was even consensual? Or was the breaching comment in Chp 8 a mistake? Has Shep been with another male or not?
2) In Chp 8 Hap says "I’d never prushed before, but I found myself making the sound as well, until the small hut was filled with a contented hum."
However he prushed back in Chp 4? "He sucked and licked and lapped, his eyes half-closed and his cheeks dark. When he began to prush, I nearly came out of my skin." Was this an error or was Hap just not aware of prushing in Chp 4?
3) Shep talks to Daz about how good Hap was to the females back when 'we' first met the females. Shep wasn't in the clavas then, he didn't join the Night Kings until several books after the females first came.

Hap, in the wake of being injured by an enemy clavas, struggles to find his way back to himself and who he used to be. He struggles to find his place and his worth among his clavas since he blames himself for not being able to protect the women and then irreversibly injuring his arm in the process.
Shep, a drix elder and healer has not felt settled since arriving on planet Torin. Together he and Hap find their places with each other, grow together and find their eventual happiness with together.
It was truly a heartwarming read since Hap has been a personal fave from the beginning.

Drixonian Warrior Hap was injured and one of his arms is pretty useless. Unable to get out of bed and refusing food elder and healer Shep determines to find a way to heal him by taking him away from the compound so he can find himself.
This was a sweet novella where two strong warriors were each fighting their demons and life-changing injuries. While away from the compound and working on a derelict hut they stop fighting their attraction with each other and find true happiness. Contains M/M sexual content.

Ella!! How do you do it? How do you make me love these characters in such a short amount of time?? This novella is brilliant and a great edition to the Drixonian series. I love M/M romance books, so this was already looking good, but it was so much better than I anticipated. Worth signing up for Ella's newsletter or Facebook group to get your hands on this story.

this book is a m/m story if you are not into it then this one is not for you.
I had read an earlier book in this series and was happy to see shep get his happily ever after.

Que gracinha esse casal, achei fofo como eles foram revelando os sentimentos e se apaixonando mais um pelo outro enquanto superaram os conflitos internos. A história é boa naquilo que se propõe, mesmo com poucas páginas não fica corrida a história e é uma boa leitura pra dar um respiro entre leituras mais densas

I am not generally a fan of M/M romance, but this story was just amazing. So many feels! Hap has apparently been injured physically, but more than that are the emotional scars he bears. Shep is an old healer who takes him under his wing and vows to help him recover. Little did either know that some time alone on a camping trip of sorts would bring them close together... very close together! They are both such sweet, appealing characters that one cannot help but root for them. They are just so perfect for one another! There are some obstacles they need to overcome, of course, from external dangers to their own inner demons and doubts. But luckily, they persevere and end up with their own happily ever after.

You do NOT have to read this book to be able to follow along with the series. If MM is not your thing, you can skip this and you won’t be missing anything from the main story. This is just a short story about Shep and Hap. With that said, if you don’t mind MM, this was a cute story about these two coming together and both healing eachother in more ways then one.
This was a short MM story between two characters that have already been introduced in the beginning. This was a nice surprise when I realized what this book was about and who it was about.

Cute free novella on authors website. Glad to see Hep healing and finding his mate in Shep. I also liked how it wasn't a problem for 2 males to be together for Drixonians.

This is such a sweet story between Hap and Shep. Hap works through his guilt and injury while falling in loves with Shep. Shep finds home and happiness in Hap.
