Forgotten Dreams by Kari Lemor
A Christmas in New England story. Related to the Storms of New England series. Stand-alone contemporary romance novella. Second chance troupe.
Kristen is the hotel manager of her family’s business in her hometown. She is surprised when her high school sweetheart checks into the hotel for the Christmas holiday. He left her ten years ago to join the Navy. He stopped writing and basically ghosted her when she thought they were in love. She doesn’t want her heart broken again but Mark seems determined to spend time with Kristen. Can they get a second chance at love?

Mark has kept Kristen close to his heart while in the service and secretly hoped she would wait for him. But he didn’t tell her. He attained his goals of school and a degree before returning home. He’s willing to help with sweeping and cooking and all the little details or running a small business. So while I admire his ambition and follow through, I see him as self serving. But the important part is that Kristen too, has always loved Mark and is forgiving and willing to open her heart.
A heartwarming Christmas love story.

A lovely romance in a small town. Breaking someone’s heart and then wanting back in their life, doesn’t always happen. Thoroughly enjoyable.

This sweet book was just what I needed to read! This book is a second chance story that will just make you happy. With all that is going on these days I really wanted to find a little escape and I found just what I was looking for in this book.

Kristan Donahue runs her family’s hotel since her father is working on retiring. Her dad thought that her and her brother were going to take the reins but her brother had other plans. He was not interested in working in The Inn with his sister. She has been working day and night to make sure the Inn is running smoothly.

Mark Campbell left his small town to go into the Navy to see the world and get the degree his family couldn’t afford to help him get. When he left, he left Krissy behind. She was the girl he had been dating for two years. She was just 18 and he was twenty. He needed to get his life moving. He didn’t want to drag her away from college and drag her around the world.

Mark is back home 10 years later and he has submitted his discharge papers. He was soon going to be free to go where he pleased.

Will coming home be the right permanent move or will his restless heart take him away again. Is Krissy enough to make him want to stay. Where could he possibly get work in this small town.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a sweet uplifting story. It is based in a small town at Christmas time. What could be better than that?

Kari has written a sweet heartfelt feelgood second chance short story that will make you wish you could stay in their lives longer.

Kristan is running the family business and heading into a busy Christmas season. She's short staffed, too stubborn to ask for help, and thrown off her game when an old heartache walks into her Inn.
While Kristan covers her shock at seeing her high school love walk through her door, Mark is drawn back to her.
Old hurts are reveled about the loss of their relationship, new chances open each of them to the chance of healing their hearts.
Taking the chance is what holds them both back.
But Christmas always seems to bring miracles.
Don't miss the magic of Christmas in Squamscott Falls.

Kristan finally gets her chance in this short and sweet addition to the Storms of New England series, where we find out why Alex Storm wasn't the man of her dreams. Her heart was already spoken for by Mark, the guy who had loved her and left her years before. Now, Mark is back in town, possibly to stay, and Kristan's neat little world will never be the same.

This story should be read while snuggled in a blanket with a cup of hot apple cider. It makes the heart happy, and Christmas can't come soon enough. Don't miss it!

I really enjoyed the story line n this Christmas romance of second chances. As usual I read the book in one sitting as I can never put this author's books down till I reach the end and then count the days until she releases another book.
I did receive an arc for an honest early review but I also purchased a copy as soon as the book came out.

A feel good Hallmark Christmas moment novella of a story. With cameos from the other Storm family books, this one felt a little like coming home to familiar faces and places.

Magical feel of Christmas captured in words

Forgotten Dreams by Kari Lemor is a special holiday book released in her Storms of New England series. Although the book is short in length it has the full romance Lemor is known for delivering to her readers.

Kristan Donahue is running the family inn after her father’s retirement and although she is doing a fabulous job and has many friends, something is missing. Mark Campbell has returned to his home town from the Navy looking to begin the next chapter in his life. The readers learn that they dated in high school and he broke Kristan’s heart when he joined the Navy and left her behind to see the world.

Lemor uses the tranquility and beauty of a small New England town, adds some snow, hot chocolate and appearances by the Storm family and creates a romantic second chance love story. This book is just enough to hold fans of the Storm family over until Lost Dreams is released!

"Forgotten Dreams" by Kari Lemor was a sweet Christmas read. This second chance romance was just what I needed to read. Kari did a wonderful job with the characters and storyline. Kristan sees Mark after 10 years of being apart. Mark left for the Navy and has always had a part of Kristan's heart. She was so surprised when he booked a room at her Inn. At first, she didn't want to get close to him again, but Mark did all he could to make up for lost time and show that he was worth a second chance on. I loved the fort scene with his niece and nephews. I also liked the scene where he stepped in to help out out at the Inn.

Forgotten Dreams is a second chance Christmas romance. Mark and Kristin were childhood sweethearts before Mark joined the Navy and left Kristin behind. Kristin was devastated and remained pretty bitter about it. I really like that Kari Lemor told the story from both characters points of view. It was a fairly short novella and this enabled me to connect with both characters. This is the only book in the Storms of New England series I have read. It is okay to read as a stand alone and I could easily follow the plot without knowing the backstories for secondary characters. Meeting the characters in this book did entice me to go back and read the other books in the series though.

Kristan is still working in her small town at her family’s inn when Mark comes back into town. Mark had left abruptly after they had been dating for a couple of years. There is still a spark between them but can Kristan trust Mark with her heart again? Lovely Christmas story!
