Despite the strong spark between them, confronting their emotions and fighting for them may be the greatest challenge they will have to face. "Her Heaven Sent Soulmate" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
First issue she leaves her home against her parents wishes. She’s going to Chicago alone. The train is robbed all her money is taken. She has no skills apart from baking a pie. She gets hired as a cook and thankfully her boss’s mother teaches her how to cook. When the boss asks what her plans are she doesn’t know but she gives it a think. She knows he is right but determined to prove she can. Meanwhile he asks her for help stocking up for the winter months she agrees. They each have feelings for each other but alas no one ever shows it or talks about it. When It’s to late she’s on the train and he runs to catch up.
The entire story was good until the ending on the writer’s page, to many gaps left in question. The entire book was talking about his financial situation and the ending doesn’t tell us anything.
Three stars, story had something missing.. Alyssa left her family to get to Chicago.. But the train was robbed and savings gone... through encounters with others she finds a job as a cook on a ranch.. Bryce had baggage, he was trying to filled his father's shoes.. His mother was sick ( we never found out her diagnosis).. Then hinted about the robbers but nothing happened there either.. Bryce act like he couldn't talk, he blew hot then cold.. through out the whole book.. But it took his sister to bring him around and open his heart.

This is a sweet, exciting and adventurous tale written by Carol Colyer. She has done and excellent job filling this story with excitement, adventure and love. Carol is a young woman craving to leave her small home town for the flashy excitement for Chicago. Finally able to be on her way,the trail she is riding on is robbed and all of her saving are now gone. She get off at the next town with no funds or hope. She secured employment with a handsome young rancher as the ranch cook. Will she ever be able to complete her wish to go to Chicago? Will she be able to find love and happiness? You will enjoy discovering how her happily ever after? You will enjoy finding the answer.
She spent years saving up for her dream only to have it taken away by circumstances beyond her control. Her plan took a big turn to working for a rancher in a place she didn't mean to end up. But he needs her as he is in over his head since his father is no longer there. A man who doesn't know what a happy moment is until her. But she plans on leaving for where she was headed. They are getting big feeling for each other. Can they make it work and can he keep her there? It is emotional, exciting, surprising, dramatic and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Loved the piece. Do you believe in soulmates will if not you will after reading this gem? Alyssa thinks moving east will change her life no more small town for her. Then things happen and she ends up again in a small town but this time is working on a ranch. Bryce the ranch owner is trying to come to terms with running a ranch after his father’s passing. The author has written wonderfully detailed descriptions of the area it takes place in and has brought the characters to life in this super book. I always look forward to reading a book by Carol Colyer. This is a book I am happy to recommend it was outstanding.
It is good to have dreams. Dreams need to have a dash of reality. Fate steps in in the form of a train robbery. Alyssa has a dream; Bryce has a fear of not fulfilling his father’s dreams and plans. Brought together by her need for a job and his need to take care of his mother, they really do not get off to a good start. Carol Colyer is a master with bringing characters to life. Her books have romance, humor and some conflict, even if it is of personalities. I enjoyed watching Alyssa and Bryce slowly learn to communicate with each other.
With such complex characters and a storyline that keeps your attention you will be glad that you read this story. Alyssa has been saving her money for a long time so that she’ll be able to travel to Chicago. Unfortunately things don’t go as planned, she’s stranded in Kansas and broke after a train robbery. Through the kindness of some local residents she has a roof over her head and food to eat, but she needs to find a way to earn some money to continue her journey. What kind of position is she suited for?
Bryce & Alyssa were two unlikely people to fall in love since she was so set on going to Chicago & Bryce was struggling with his ranch management. After Alyssa was robbed of all her money on a train headed for Chicago in the middle of a small town in Kansas, she got a job cooking for Bryce at his ranch. A must read to find the action from her new job to her next train rude to Chicago. Good book.
Bruce is a jerk, and somewhat childish. He’s mean when he doesn’t get his way. Alyssa is selfish and blind when she has her heart set on something. She figured him out earlier in the book but couldn’t figure out that he didn’t want to leave. Blind as a bat because she wanted to go to Chicago.the book is god but the character don’t stay true to who they really are, neither do the minor characters.
Her Heaven Sent Soulmate A Historical Western Romance Book
This is a very good story and very well written Alyssa Scott left home because she was tired of the small town and wants to go to Chicago. The train is robbed and she takes a job as a cook on a ranch and finds love and happiness with Bryce This is a very enjoyable story
This was one of the better books that I've read by Ms. Colyer. It still could have used a little more care in editing for grammar and spelling, but was better than most of this author's other books I've read. The story is good, the characters interesting. An enjoyable, quick read.
Great set of "coincidences" that make the story hard to put down. In real life you would say that all things happened so that this couple could meet and fall in love. This makes this story of adventure and personal growth of the characters hard to put down. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the aspects from a woman's point of view living in the western states and how they resolved their conflicts with the men they love. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading historical western romance books and also has happy endings too.
I liked the premise of the storyline and that people gave her a chance after the train robbery. I grew very weary of hearing her idolize “Chicago”. The story could have been shortened by the characters just being honest about their feelings for each other. These types of drawn out prolonged writings are frustrating to me.
I love this story. I didn't want to put the book down. I love the different concept of reading how difficult it could be for a management to express himself and how the entire story just flowed with love the entire time. I couldn't wait to read what was going to happened next. I can read this book over and over again! A very good read!
I enjoyed this story very much. Ms. Colyer has created realistic characters that move the story along without the need for some extraordinary events or circumstances to happen along the way.
This was a very nice story about how one’s plan’s can go wrong, and leave you hoping for a better way to be able to find a job! And maybe something to keep you hoping for a better outlook on life!
I enjoyed your story for the most part. It did have me struggling to keep with it a little bit. Both of them were a bit frustrating her with her attitude leaving home struck me as incredibly naive and a bit foolish and he was a bit of a jerk.
How could she deal with his moods; sweet now, cold next
A good read and story line. One of following your dream weather with or without support. Also one of giving up a dream to fulfill a family obligation and dealing with loss even years later.
Where you think your headed might not be where your headed!
It was an interesting book. Great characters, visual images, and story line. Nice ending, nice compromise, I really enjoyed it and the extended epilogue.
The grass is greener on the other side or you don't miss your water till the we!l runs dry are inapplicable cliches for this story. But you have to be willing to take a chance. You never know until you try.
For a single woman to be ambitious back then was almost unheard of, love her spunk. I loved how this stories events unfolded, Bryce after all was said in done finally earned his ascension. Don't skip the epilogue, so lovely.
