Will is having one of those days. But not your average one of those days. It started badly and then went downhill with gusto. Now he’s going to summon a demon. You know, to get all murdery. Revenge. What could go wrong, right?
Beginning with some pretty vile acts, Unbound is a novella that only gets worse going forward. If you are of a sensitive nature, then you might want to give this one a miss, yes?
It contains scenes of very bizarre and extremely violent death, along with some of the weirdest scenes of sex you might come across. It’s not really erotic … well … unless you’re into that sort of thing. Best consider this a trigger warning for just about everything.
A sickeningly disgustingandhorrifically vile tale; which also endeavors in being highly graphical, gore and splatter-filled fest of a story about revenge, retributionandvengeance (gone awry...?).
Unbound is equal parts savage and brutal, bizzaro comic and erotica straight from the depths of an imagination that's spent a long time pondering various visions of demons and the concept of Hell...Literally.
This is comes highly recommended from me to ANY and ALL splatterpunk enthusiasts!
Will was bullied each day at school. Now he’s left school, he’s still being bullied...by the same people, Tim and his goons Del and Jason. One day, after one particular bad incident, Will decides to get revenge.
Six months later, Will has summoned a demon called Belphegor, who turns out to be a beautiful woman, and together they seek retribution.
This was a great little revenge novella, with lots of the usual triggers, we’ve come to love with Ash’s books, so not recommended for anyone with a weak stomach. It’s brutal, vile, gory, and full of sex, which is perfect for those into extreme horror and Splatterpunk.
You know those stories where someone is wronged so they do things that they really shouldn’t, but it ends up making things worse? Which has a hidden message or deeper meaning for ‘watch out that you don’t become like them or perhaps even worse’? You know, like WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S or ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS?
Well this isn’t really that story. Sure, the guy was wronged, but he also decided he wanted to fuck his revenge demon. Which ask never a good idea. I know I for one will never make that mistake…again.
So if I had to compare this one I would have to say it was almost like a porn version of the music video for “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” by The Offspring. Highly entertaining, though.
4 Stars
Ps: If you haven’t Googled the referenced movies to see what you have missed yet, good for you. For some reason those are the first two obscure movie names that I haven’t seen in decades, and as far as I can remember their deeper meaning was just to have a laugh.
3.5 stars. Not a bad outing from Ash Ericmore. I thought the beginning with Will's bullying and everything ahead of the demon, Belle, appearing, which was the best part of the story. Lots of good insight into our lead, emotionality, and some solid internal monologue. After Belle came into the picture, however, things seemed to shift more so to just typical body horror and splatterpunkish content. None of it was bad, it just didn't wow me, either. Belle and Will had some really fun interactions, which also overshadowed other more pronounced parts of the story. But this was just a very sexually aggressive and fairly gory outing, fit to kill some time when you need a decent horror fix.
Will found everything starting to go black. He was sure his eyes weren’t closing. It was just getting darker. As he stared, Bill winked at him through the bloody mess of his skull. As least, Will thought he had.
I can easily see Ash Ericmore becoming one of my go-to authors! You know, you pop on Amazon just to window shop... See what Matt's up to, how about Jon, gotta check Ash... EXTREME HORROR COMEDY makes me so happy! Ash's humor is darker than my mascara, his horror is disgusting, weird, and fresh... I'm hooked. I'm just in love with the demon summoned in this story, we need to go out for coffee, or shots. This was fun, sick, and completely unexpected. I'm going to be a sad person when these four five (yay!) books are finished, and it's taking every ounce of willpower to not finish them all up in one setting!
First time reading this author and I will be reading more. This was a good quick read. I really enjoyed the story. All I will say is that Will got his revenge but don't be fucking around with no demon. For real though this book was a enjoyable quick read.
William bashed in a pub's toilet by a bunch if fuck wits from his past. Blood spraying the bowl, at least it seemed his nose wasn't broken. Now later that night walking down a dark alley he is set upon by the same fuck wits wearing halloween killer masks. Beaten, smashed, kicked, entered, William having a real bad day. Now he will summon a demon, a beautiful women who will help him get pay back. One of the fuck wits has an IQ of a parsley sprig and will be stabbed in the stomach and his intestines ripped out the demon eats them up like raw sausages. The other has his head smashed like a hammer, popping like a watermelon, the hammer stuck. William gets his revenge but pays the ultimate price in the end.
Ericmore delivers a dish best served cold, once again!
Revenge is sweet! …and also bloody. Ash gives us everything from a sexy demon to brain-lube along the way to William’s attempt at revenge against the bullies who plagued his youth. When enough blood is spilled and he wants things to go back to “normal”, he hits a snag—with a perfect jawline and a vengeful determination to ruin Will’s plans.
Another cautionary tale among the viscera: when we all take an eye for an eye, the whole world will end up blind.
* If you need trigger warnings, give it a miss. Blood, brains, sexual content, SA… need I go on…?
“I’m not here to do your bidding. I chose to come. And you want to know why?” Will looked away and she slapped him like his mum. He looked back. “Those three—those three fuckers who wrecked you. The one’s who broke you. Took the innocence from you. Them? I had them. They were all coming to Hell regardless. But you—you were all sweetness and light. So I thought I could nudge you along the way too.”
Innocence comes in many forms, and can be snatched away just as easily no matter who the victim is. This is something William is about to learn the hard way, as one mistakes leads to something unforgettable. First he was stabbed by a schoolhouse bully in the stomach, before testifying against him in court. Yet those charges seemingly dropped away and before he knew it the rest of the gang would seek their vergence. Beating him nearly to death before the ring leader Tim raped him, William finally begins the taste for something darker, something truly sinister. Tattooing his flesh in ancient words and symbols, he's ready to bring a demon to life to help aid in his crusade of revenge. Belphagor or Belle as she wanted to be called was the answer to his calls but at a savage price tag. His soul. It binged to her now once his death became imminent. However this seemed to be perfectly fine as she assisted in murder and torture of the three people who ruined his life the most. He crossed so many moral lines along the path, including sleeping with her and finding arousal in horrific violence. Weeks after the final member was killed, Belle went back to her rhelm and William tried his luck with the bar tender Cherry who caught his eyes six months before he started this journey. However he was beat to the mark as Belle finds her first and assumed the identity of Bill. Sweeping her from her feet, William stalked the duo before meeting his end as Cherry stabbed him trying to stop him from bashing in Bill's skull. With his death creeping into the light, the last thing he sees is the sadistic smile on the demon's bloodied face.
“No need to be shy. We can fuck again when you’re ready. I owe you. Would you like me to call you Master?”
I notice this story has a little over 4 stars. I gave it 3 stars, it was good, but I really thought it would be better. For a extreme horror story, I just did not find it that extreme.
Will is beat badly by his tormentors several times. He summons a she devil that he has sex with and together they get revenge, on his tormentors.
This was my first book for Ericmore and after this I’ll definitely be looking for more. It’s fast paced, gory, and well written. Everything you can ask for from a horror story. And just as it says it is an extreme horror story so take heed if that’s not your thing.
Deals with demons never go as planned, those tricky devils. You always find out the hard way, that they always get what they want. Not for the squeamish! I do mean that ...
This started off really well but went on a rapid decline after the first kill. If we are gonna have demons in a book, let them be very vengeful and intimidating. Not petty and childish.
Really enjoyed this nasty little revenge tale. I love Ericmore’s dark sense of humor that he brings to his books. He also writes great torture scenes and fleshed out (pun intended!) characters. If you’re a splatter fan grab this one!
A sick revenge story, full of gory details. Great quick read! Unbound by Ash Ericmore is so gross that you just have to keep reading to find out what comes next!
This work had enough scares and gore to keep the average body horror fan satisfied. Not much in character development but a novella like this need not do so.
Nothing is better than summoning a demon to help you get your revenge! Plenty of violence and sex here so you won't be disappointed if that's what you're looking for!
