My childhood wasn't pretty dresses, fairy tales and glitter. It was sharp swords, bullets and living under the watchful eyes of a criminal psychopath. It was the kind of life I wouldn't wish for anyone. It was hard, torturous and so damn lonely.

I escaped.

Things have changed now. I am no longer alone. I have friends that have become my family. I was trained to be a killer, but now I defend the weak against the men that taught me everything I know.

I have a plan.

I never expected for the sexy commander to charge into my life. He brings with him a part of my past I would rather forget and threatens to derail everything I have worked so hard for.

He wants revenge.

In a world where I am lethal, Commander Logan Carter might be the only one to bring me to my knees.

This is the first time I have ever read anything by this author, I think this is her debut novel. The plot was great, I loved the badass ghost women. I really enjoyed these characters and the plot and I think once the author has perfected her writing style and craft then I’ll enjoy her bookseven more. They’re both strong but slightly broken. Logan is totally alpha and J/P.

Some of the dialogue is super cheesy and immature though, I’m just not a fan of fart jokes especially coming from a H who is supposed to be a badass sexy alpha male. Like really guys having fart competitions at this age? Idk, This isn’t sexy Or funny unless your 12 lol. Mila is a bit OTT for me in her humor too but I’m hoping it’s a mask she wears and she’ll calm down. There were times the dialogue was super cringe worthy.

The story also lacks contractions which makes the writing stilted and the dialogue unnatural. Like there were none, I don’t think a comma was used once in the whole book. Maybe the author is a non English speaker? No one speaks without contractions. I had to change it in my head to get through the book but it was jarring to do so. My other issue is that things just jump around a lot with no real lead up, in one chapter he’s pissed at her and then the next he’s forgiving her. They’re happy one second and the next screaming at each other. I would have preferred more of a build up in these scenes; like during the separation he Is super pissed at her, almost to the point of hate, and then he’s over it. The quick emotional and direction change of the characters and book left me feeling confused and not connected to the characters as much as I would have liked for a story that needs to have a emotional punch given the character histories and what they go through during the book.

I’m def going to continue on through because the plot is strong enough to over look the writing style choices and just keep my fingers crossed that as the authors confidence grows so does her skill.

Loved the kickass girl group!

The story is packed with action, sword fights and intrigue!

Both the H and the alpha team were secondary to the story and in some parts I quite disliked the H.

Being picky about it, there were some lose ends and the book had a bit of "fats" that could be trimmed to better focus the book and make it more inclusive... (The twins are amazing, we get it, but we don't need 3 pages detailing their training to climb a wall and have the other characters observing doing nothing)

This book starts out with so much angst and so much left hidden & unsaid. These characters have come a long way to get to where they are. Roxy is so badass & needs no one to survive, but the love of others is what keeps her human. Logan is determined to make something great of himself, & he’s well on his way. When the two collide, they ignite into an inferno that can’t be tamed. Their fierce love and trust for their makeshift family is endearing & crucial when they come up against adversity.
There are so many stories to be told. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. I need all the stories 🥰

Fire and water...

Wow! This is the first book of what I am assuming is a series and what a way to start.
Badass women who burn with passion, a strong sense of self, fighters who are never the damsel in distress and yet they have a softer side hidden.
Alpha men who are not only close friends, have strong protector instincts and will stop at nothing for justice. They also have to their asses handed to
them and learn to be open minded.

I gave this book 4 stars because it comes across as hard to follow at times. It is in first person which is fine but there were a few times where I couldn't figure out who was what.

And the action keeps coming!

Brand new author, and first offering published...have to say I loved the story, the fact that it never dragged, and I got invested in the characters to the point I was yelling at them from time to time to point out their errors in thinking (I'm a fixer. It is ingrained at this point). If you like sass, a mafia assassin trope, alphas who are sometimes too alpha for their own good but are at heart protective growly cavemen, this book is for you! Looking forward to the next installment! Way to go, Ellie!

Happily ever after a don’t always come the way they should.

From start to finish this was a great read. They say there is a thin line between love and hate and the lives of Logan and Rox prove it. Logan spent 14 years of his life searching for the girl that he thought he hated with every part of his being. Rox carries guilt over the life she took and hiding from darkness. When their paths cross and the truth cones out they save each other from the past and solidify their future together.

Finally a fun, action packed read with a bunch of tough lead female characters AND awesome alpha heroes. This was a fast paced, romantic, and awesome start to this series. I’m heavily invested in getting all of the stories of the secondary characters AND learning what is exactly going on with all of the members of Roxy’s family. The guys on the Alpha team are amusing, but seem to work well with the Ghost team. Some of the writing and dialogue got a smidge cheesy, but I think over time that should even out in other books. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Book

Wow, after reading the blurb I knew the story was going to be good, but I was hooked from the very first chapter! What a roller coaster ride of emotions! The characters are so very deep and wonderfully layered. This is the work of a truly talented author. I cannot wait for the next books in the series as after one book I am already attached! One one other author has ever hooked me quite so quickly and Ellie Kirson has now become one of my favorite authors!

Excellent story

This is a first for this author and she knocked it out of the park! The basis of 5 female warriors fighting for good and skirting the law. And they are introduced to 5 cops of an elite squad. What could possibly go wrong! Great plot line, characters and setting. And enough twists and turns to keep it going right to the end! Can't wait to continue with Ayda's story.

Fierce and sexy

How can you not love a badass heroine? Or her sisters-in-arms? The strength, love and grit of Rox and the man that loves her shine through every page..... especially when the going gets rough. The first book in this series literally blows the door off the hinges and I cannot wait for more!

Very Good Book

I give it 5/5 because it is a great story line. What I look for in a book is not an overwhelming amount of detail but not to little. In some parts this book lingered on to little detail but I still give it 5/5 because it meets all expectations of a great book. I love the relationship described between all characters. I will read the next book!

🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

This book deserves a 5 star rating. It's well written and it flows pleasantly, so much so that I couldn't stop reading even if I tried.
Logan and Roxanne's chemistry is smoking hot even if they tried to fight it, and I love all the supporting characters. The way they mesh was perfect.
Overall, this is a fantastic start and I'm super excited for the next read.

Roxy and Logan are on fire

Ellie’s debut novel is amazing, I was drawn into Roxy & Logan’s story from the start. The tension between these two leaders is tangible. They truly bring out the best in each other. I can not wait to continue on with the Ghost team.

Read it!!

A well written book full of action, romance, healing and forgiveness. The characters are flawed and broken but are able to find their way through the mess to each other and it was beautiful to watch it all unfold.

Bad ass chicks

It refreshing to read about a team/family of bad ass women and hopefully the five men who will complete them. Made me want to kick ass with them.

I loved the plot and storyline but the way it was written was immature for MCs in their late 20’s and no contractions made reading it frustrating. Speaking dialogue needed to be fixed.
