AT A LOSS FOR WORDS ** 2.75 stars**
Welcome to the land of the absurd. After several chapters, my interest vanished even though the premise is right up my alley: the spoiled and bratty, rich YOUNG thing confined by her privileged life and the implacable older bodyguard assigned to protect her. Oil and water from the get-go and very much on familiar ground for this author. As appealing as the writing style usually is, I started to drift at 25%.
Yeah, I know this is “fiction”, but not the world of magical thinking that makes no sense. Picture this … the hero – a bodyguard with inhumanly Ninja-like skills – trains himself on the regular with crazy feats of improbability like diving to the bottom of a deep pool with his feet and hands zip-tied, can snatch a cell phone off the bottom with his teeth while holding his breath, jackknife back to the surface and fling it to safety, then snatch a knife off the pool deck with his teeth once again and dive back to the pool bottom where he cuts himself free in some kind of David Blaine magic before striding off with all the grace and arrogance of a proud lion. Really?? You do know how thin and slick-surfaced a cell phone is and that an open mouth underwater fills with water, making it literally impossible to pick up a phone with your teeth without drowning. Not to mention that his nose would be in the way and would require coming at the phone with his head to the side. Even more impossible. And please explain to me how he gets the knife from his mouth to his zip-tied hands (in back of him) underwater – because if they were tied in front of him, there’s no skill needed in simply reaching up and taking the knife from his mouth. Or better yet, no need to bite it off the deck in the first place and go through this ridiculous exercise. This stuff makes me nuts. And this is how the book starts …
Don’t get me wrong. I love feats of strength, endurance, and surprise moves from alpha-y strongmen who have SKILLS, but this takes the cake. Call me picky, but I still require some kind of credibility in real world, real life stories. This isn’t paranormal, fantasy, or sci fi. Seriously, I think this author has gone off the deep end (pun intended) when it comes to the ridiculously improbable. It reminds me of her book Can’t Let Her Go about a Russian he-man who delivers a virgin sex slave through Siberian deep-freeze and blizzard on foot in regular clothes and while schlepping suitcases on the miles long trek. They also have hours of crazed, naked sex in a wilderness cabin without heat – in the same Siberian deep-freeze. And that was only the beginning of things that didn’t make sense. I can’t suspend that kind of disbelief in stories because the absurdity of it takes me completely out of the moment every time, and the author’s reliance on these OTT ploys appears to be getting worse, not better.
I’ve enjoyed this author for years and own several of her books – Masquerade, Disfigured Love, The Man in the Mirror, and the Billionaire Banker series immediately come to mind. IMO, either I’ve changed or the writing has gone downhill – not that it isn’t entertaining, because it is. I've always enjoyed her writing style til recently. But, this trend of “the absurd” is leaving me in the dust in recent books. She’s tops with steamy times, as well as the adversarial MCs who are undone by the bratty or feisty h cutting the stoic H down to size with genuine feelings. But then there’s the OTT bits and drivel dialogue that goes nowhere other than to create a lull in story momentum. I’d still be on board with the whole shebang except for this major flaw that has me turning away. I’ll keep rooting for this author and cheers to all who love this book, but she needs to tone down the OTT stuff FOR REAL and get back to the way it used to be ... or at least the way I remember it.

Bodyguard and mafia daughter romance.
Nothing special. Hero and heroine had a very strong physical connection not really sure how they both fell in love but somehow they did.
Heroine threw herself at Hero too much for my liking. Hero’s inner thoughts were more about how hes falling for her but heroine’s were mainly about sex.
Bodyguard turns out to be son of another mafia family.. guess if he stayed a bodyguard there relationship would have been rejected. Heroine is pregnant at the end prior to marriage - which isn’t the norm in mafia books so unsure why her marrying her “bodyguard” (and him not being from a powerful family) couldn’t happen.

One of the story's central figures is Sienna, who is the daughter and only child of a major mafia family. She was sent to university in England to be educated and has returned home. Unbeknownst to her, her parents have arranged a marriage between her and a man she loathes. She has vowed that she will not be forced into such a union. She plans an escape but it is unsuccessful.
Consequently, Sienna's father assigns a bodyguard to her to thwart any further attempts to escape. The bodyguard is Angelo, the other main character. Their first encounter does not go well. Angelo sees Sienna as a spoiled brat. Sienna is petulant and angry that Angelo did not help her when she fell into the deep end of the pool.* An angry confrontation ensues. In time, Sienna and Angelo get to know each other, and they realize that their judgments of each other were dead wrong. Their secret lust for each other ultimately turns into love.
This is no fluff piece. The story is captivating, and the sexual encounters are explosive, and are oh so very well done. There are suspenseful and dangerous elements in the story and a host of interesting characters that add flavor, texture and real depth to the story. Such a feat is not often achieved in erotic romances. I have read many of this author’s books, and I’ve never been disappointed. I would have given 5 stars but there were a few editing hiccups along the way. Notwithstanding, this book is stellar. Those who enjoy romantic erotica will love this book.
*What might seem OTT to some, it really is not. Angelo is training and everything he did in the pool is fairly consistent with Navy SEAL training called the Water Challenge or the Drownproofing Test.
“The test is done by SEAL candidates in a 9-foot deep pool. With their hands tied behind their back and their feet bound, they have to completely pass all of the events in the test or they are considered a failure and removed from training.” Taken from a SOFREP.com article entitled, NOT COMFORTABLE ENOUGH IN THE WATER? MASTER THE SEAL DROWN PROOFING TEST. Also, as part of the test the candidates must retrieve an item from the bottom with their teeth.

I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately, but I feel like all the books I’ve been reading I’ve just been so iffy on how I feel about them.
I liked:
•The bedroom scenes, they were steamy as hell
•the characters, although I did feel like we could have gone a little more in depth with their personalities
•the writing wasn’t bad and I didn’t notice any editing errors that stood out
I didn’t like:
•the relationship was super fast. The main characters had sexual attraction to each other, but there really wasn’t much relationship building at all. They didn’t even have a full conversation where they weren’t arguing before Sienna didn’t want to live without Angelo.
•the way Sienna begged for sex. We know that Angelo likes Sienna because we were able to see his thoughts from his POV, but he had been rude to Sienna multiple times, pushed her away and told her they couldn’t see each other, so she wasn’t aware of his feelings for her at all. As he’s trying to get away from her, she legit cries out, “let’s just do it one more time!” Idk, the author had her looking a little too desperate for my liking.
•Sienna is the daughter of a Mafia Don and set to take over one day, but the whole mafia aspect is just basically background noise, other than her arranged marriage of course. We don’t get to see any of the inner workings of the business. I know this is a romance novel, but I personally would have liked to know a little bit more about the role Sienna will be taking over.
•Angelo left his family for a specific reason when he was 19, yet he works for a family that is basically just like his own... for the sole reason of using their pool to train. Dude, if you wanted out of that life... you could find a gym with a pool or an apartment complex with a pool. Or buy a house with a pool. This was the most dumb and most simple reason for being their bodyguard. We could have had a little more depth here.
Overall, it’s not a horrible book. If you’re looking for a quick and hot read, this will do. If you’re looking for a book that’s hot but with an amazing plot, this book is lacking in the plot department to me. Again, it’s not a bad book, I guess I just expected a little more due to the fact that I’ve read other books by this author and loved them?

If you're at all familiar with author Georgia Le Carre, then you'll understand why, when she releases a new book, I set aside everything and say: "Okay, Georgia! I'm ready to be captivated!" With Bodyguard Beast," prepare to fan and swoon yourself, a little bit, too. (Pearl-clutching, is entirely, optional.) The premise isn't new - spoiled, mafia princess, is forced into a loveless, arranged marriage, but falls for her bodyguard. Right there. That's where the similarities, cease. Sienna is just returning from her education abroad, when she learns that she is to be wed to the man of her father's choosing. It doesn't matter that she doesn't WANT to marry Fabio, it is a marriage that will best suit "the family," and that, is pretty much the end of THAT discussion. Sienna is a first-class BRAT when she meets Angelo, the man assigned by her father, to watch over her, and ensure her safety. Her bodyguard. Angelo should have demanded more money. Let's just say, he quickly takes it out in trade. It's not long before the sparks are flying, along with their clothing, and anything else that gets in the way of their sexual activities. In this enemies-to-lovers romance, we see how quickly that first attraction turns to love. Not just a forbidden love, but it's a love that seems doomed to fail. In "Bodyguard Beast," by Georgia Le Carre, you can expect drama, angst, family turmoil, danger, excitement, villains, suspense, sexual tension, amusing situations, stinging barbs, witty banter, steamy encounters, and romance. Hot body guard tasked to keep the only daughter and heir to the Mafia throne safe although she is trying desperately to escape her fate... did I mention how beautiful she is, or the sparks between them... let the fireworks begin! Returning to the family after university overseas she finds she is no longer the apple of her father’s eye, rather a tool to ensuring the family remains in power. Her father is at the top of the food chain and wants to remain there no matter the cost. Hurt and disbelieving that her father could be so calculating and cold she quickly learns how shielded she has been. Assigned the hot bodyguard whom she had an intense first meeting with, she finds herself incensed whenever in close proximity to him. Everyone says love and hate are the flip side of the same coin but falling for the boss’s daughter is a hard limit.. right?
Dreams are shattered and pieced together again in this steamy enemy to lovers romance that has bad guys, good guys and everything in between. Plot twists and turns keep everyone guessing and the heat between the lead characters seriously is off the charts. Once again this author has delivered a fantastic story that left me smiling. Perfect! I do so love a man who fights for what he wants.

Plot twists and turns keep everyone guessing and the heat between the lead characters seriously is off the charts. Once again this author has delivered a fantastic story that left me smiling. Georgia Le Carre is, in my opinion, one of the great authors who really never writes a bad book...Bodyguard Beast continues that tradition. This book begins with a bang and continues at a rapid pace all the way through. Angelo and Sienna are such a great couple. She’s headstrong, but at the same time restrained by family obligations. She wants to run away from everything and live her own life, unfortunately her father has other plans and that’s where Angelo comes in. As the bodyguard that her father places on her, he’s irritating, rude, restraining and totally gorgeous. Poor Sienna doesn’t know if she’s coming or going most of the time. This book has all the elements of a Georgia Le Carre book...super sexy, fun, thrilling and best of all, a happy ending. Ms. Le Carre’s books are always a must read for me and Bodyguard Beast didn’t let me down. Looking forward to whatever this fabulous author comes up with next.

This author has a way of creating a sweet but intense connection between the main characters. While I didn’t really care for Sienna appearing like a spoiled airhead as she was anything but that, I liked the way Angelo was drawn to her anyway.
Their chemistry and scenes were super hot, another signature talent of this author. Not many authors can create a sexy scene and create an emotional response like this author can. No skimming or scanning for this book.
Sure, I hated how long Fabio was able to be nasty to everyone he met, and I thought Sienna’s dad was a bit slow, I mean even little old Nonna had to intervene to get him on board.
But the main couple was totally swoon worthy and their growing relationship was entertaining from start to finish.

I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates. I love a good mafia romance and Georgia doesn't disappoint! Sienna has returned home after years of being away at school and isn't thrilled with her father's overbearing rules. She knows what he does and who her family is, but after years of freedom she can't help but act out, especially with the new handsome guard. Angelo has only been working for her father for a short while and the last thing he wants is to become her bodyguard. He keeps his past a secret but he is good at what he does. The chemistry is there, but he knows better than to even think of Sienna. Sienna can't help her attraction and when she finds out she has been put in an arranged marriage she decides she wants Angelo and wants him now. I love the drama, suspense, the back story, the twists and the smoking hot passion! It's a fabulous story!!

I loved how hard Angelo fought to stay away from Sienna. I also really love the twist towards the end! This book was an easy, fairly fast read. I finished it in one day. As always, another great book! The mafia theme with action and drama was spot on with a twist or two that you'll never see coming.
Sienna and Angelo are never meant to be together. Mentally they know it's wrong but physically they have a passionate connection. When they eventually let their bodies do the talking it's explosive! Hot! They fit so well together. I love how bold Sienna is and how Angelo is a silent strong type.
All in all, it was a great book. It checks all the boxes and then some. Well worth the read.

BODYGUARD BEAST was an absolutely fantastic read. And also my first book by Le Carre. I enjoyed it so much I went on a KU spending spree, downloading a few more. But what hooked me in was the characters and their amazing chemistry that was an inferno between both Sienna and Angelo from the very beginning. They fought hard to deny the feelings that was right in front of them, but they were only so strong before they could no longer withstand the pull of being with one another.
Just an absolute beautifully told story and one I could not put down. BODYGUARD BEAST had the perfect amount of twists, turns and romance to keep me hooked the entire read. It has me extremely excited for the next book, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. I am not sure I can wait until November. 5 Stars!

This author once again transports you to this riveting story about Sienna and Angelo. Sienna's only desire is to live a life of her own choosing but obligations and responsibilities are around every corner for her. She never expected to lust after Angelo and he sure as hell didn't want to want her. How long can they keep this attraction at bay and will they both get to live their dreams? This author truly has a magical way of combining story and music together. It is one of the things I love the best about her books. She finds the perfect songs to get you hooked into the story as well as her wonderful writing. It is an experience for the senses.

At first she was just a job needing guarding but soon that turns to more, their attraction alone could get them both killed what happens when they give into their desires? Well written with hot steamy scenes and chemistry bursting characters.

Another good read by this author. Sienna is the daughter of a mob boss and is coming home from London where she has been for many years. To her surprise, her dad has arranged a marriage for her to Fabio who is a very irritating presence. She does not want to marry him however but her father won’t take no for an answer. Angelo who is one of her dad’s guards has been assigned to her and the chemistry is completely off the charts with these two. After one night of passion, will they be able to keep their hands to themselves so she can marry Fabio or will they go against her fathers wishes? You’ll only know if you read the book. I felt that it was a fairly quick read because the story kept me engaged throughout.

I really enjoyed this book. Angelo works for Sienna’s dad. After she comes back to the states from attending school abroad her fathers assigns Angelo as her bodyguard. He misjudges her and assumes she is spoiled and self centered. Which she is not. There was a little suspense to the story. And while reading I could not figure a way for it all to work out in the end. Needless to say I couldn’t put the book down because I had to see what happened. And the ending was definitely worth it!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It had a solid steady pace a bit of surprize added, oh and some pretty steamy scenes as well. I couldn't put it down.
Angelo and Sienna's first meeting was a great way to start the book. It just built from there.
Imo, Ms LeCarre has got herself a masterpiece of enjoyment.

As always Georgia writes a story that I just couldn’t put down. Lovely story with HEA, 2 main characters in Angelo and Sienna with some twists and turns. Easy reading with a good plot. Sienna at times came over as a feisty young lady which I liked. Angelo was the brooding strong body guard. When their worlds collide it’s explosive. Well done Georgia!

Absolutely phenomenal! I fell in love with this couple right away, how they met, both stubborn and it wasn't insta love. I loved the secret of the H (didn't see that coming at all). I can't wait to read the story of Luca..I'm pretty sure that's going to be one helluva ride!

Wow!! I'm absolutely 💯 taken back by this book. I was completely hooked from the very beginning . Sienna is amazing strong and beautifully kind hearted.

As always this author can write. I love everyone of her books this one is no exception. He is a bodyguard to keep her safe. She has other plans. Her family has her marriage all planned out. This story is so good. You have to read it.

Fab fab fab, another awesome book from Georgia. I read this in one sitting its another "Cantputdownable" book for me. Whenever i read this authors books i ask myself the same question "How does she do it "? Angelo and Sienna's story will make your heart race and your breathing heavy. Who wouldn't love a hot bodyguard !! and you'll love the twist in the tail.

I gave this one a thumbs up! Definitely worth my time and long hours of reading. It was intense from the first moment he laid eyes on her. I recommend this for all the ladies who have had fantasies about a bodyguard of your own. Intense!
