THE FIRST THREE MIND-BENDING EPISODES OF 'CLICHÉ' ARE NOW TOGETHER UNDER ONE ROOF!
From award-winning author Jeff Menapace comes 'CLICHÉ, a series of short books to follow the twisted insanity that was the novel 'Numb'.
CLICHÉ: EPISODES 1-3 INCLUDES:
Cliché: Episode One - 'HONKY-TONK' - Calvin wakes to find himself as an unwelcome guest in a rough-and-tumble Honkytonk.
Cliché: Episode Two - 'SLASHER' - Calvin wakes to find himself as a new camp counselor in the 1980's, where a vicious killer is mowing down - what else? - camp counselors.
Cliché: Episode Three - 'ZOMBIES'??? - Calvin wakes in an abandoned hospital where he will have to do battle with a horde of. . .zombies?
A native of the Philadelphia area, Jeff has published multiple works in both fiction and non-fiction. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Red Adept Reviews Indie Award for Horror.
In March of 2014, his novel BAD GAMES was a #1 Kindle bestseller and is now being optioned as a feature film.
Free time for Jeff is spent watching horror movies, The Three Stooges, and mixed martial arts. He loves steak and more steak, thinks the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the greatest movie ever, wants to pet a lion some day, and hates spiders.
Cliche 3 - ‘Dead or undead? That is the question.’
This book consists of three linked, unique and highly intelligent mini-horror stories which work independently to a repeating 3-part mainstay Holleywood movie - actors in the stables, on the set and keeping track/observation - chapter structure to the book, and which all involve control and power over an individual, besides in a much broader sense, and how evil, selfish and avaricious intentions from seemingly unknown mysterious dark forces can affect one’s life chances and all round future prospects.
Note: These stories follow on from the author’s novel ‘Numb’ (excellent!). Consequently, this story should be read first in order to understand the main protagonists characters and their ‘special’ relationship. You will not be disappointed!
Spectacular! Did not know what to expect from the Cliché series and ended up unable to pull myself away until the conclusion. Yes - it is that good! Jeff Menapace consistently imagines and creates addicting, original, and spellbinding plots.
Always bummed when I hear: "Audible hopes you have enjoyed this program." because the endings come up way too fast for me. { = o p
The multiple narrators did a fantastic job and had my full attention start to finish.
What the WHAT?! The Cliche Episodes (1-3) are intense short stories following up Numb (previously titled Hair of the Bitch). Cal's messed up predicament continues as he is thrown into to another fight for survial.
This is definitely an original story, at least for me! I could easily see Numb and the Cliche Episodes created into a survival video game like Mortal Combat or similar. Maybe a talented and creative game developer or movie production company will snatch this up soon! In the meantime, hope you will give it a read this weekend!
I've read these first three installments of Cliche that follow the novel Numb, and have loved all of them, so far. It's definitely something different, fun, and a bit on the disturbing side which is a good thing in this genre. I can't wait to see what's next for Calvin. And with how #3 ended, the next one is bound to be good!
I was getting pretty comfortable with Caleb and other characters. Then as characters transitioned Jeff’s style comforted me with traditional expectations. Ouch!…he pulled the rug out from beneath me with the Cliche series. A definite different method of construction story telling. I like the change. I needed it without knowing I needed it. But what caught me most of all was the ‘self talk’. You climbed into my head Jeff. I WAS talking to myself, but no I wasn’t, I just thought I was. Interesting artistry. Now…on for more of the Numb series, and others.
People should not be treated like Calvin is treated, but he is making the best of a bad situation that he does not understand.
I love watching Calvin as he figures things out and beats the hell out of everyone who gets in his way. Can’t wait for the next book in series. I highly recommend this book!
Fast paced, action packed. With humour and originality! Absolutely loved these books! Read them in a day and a half, couldn’t put them down! Keep em coming please!!!!
to keep me coming back for more. The topic can plot are super out of the ordinary and spellbinding. I will definitely be checking out more of Menapace novels!
