I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but they all look delicious, it covers most things you could ever want to bake, and there's a good mix of everyday things that seem perfectly achievable and recipes that are slightly more adventurous. The book is also broken down into the bakes themselves and then separate recipes for additional components you might need like sauces, buttercreams, etc. It also explains all the different dairy and egg alternatives and what bakes they are best suited to. There's also a cute cat, what more could you want?
Walking in to 2024 wildly confident that I’m going to get lots of baking done whilst on maternity leave.
This book already ticks an important box for me - all the recipes have pictures 👌 I’m usually a fan of Jane’s Patisserie for vegan bakes, and a devout Anneka Manning baker for all else, so we’ll see how this stacks up.
Update. Cookies and Cream cupcakes were pretty good. Funfetti/Fairy cookies were more of a biscuit than a cookie. To be fair a lot of the cookies were okay, but not great (pecan, white choc cashew) Scones I'd make again. Blueberry and Chia muffins let me down a bit.
Really tasty and unique vegan bakes. The only issue for me is I find the layout of the recipe list including measurements, makes it a little harder to follow than it needs to be. I find Holly's online blog recipes a bit easier to follow.
