High level, common sense read:
1. Smart speakers - faster, but visual challenges
2. Augmented reality in retail - real value for client or price cut instead?
3. Ethical AI for HR - as ethical as the code
4. Blockchain - let's see
5. 5G - enormous disruptive potential
6. Viral content - electric signals can predict it and not self-reporting
7. AI wearables - less intrusive, more intuitive; privacy concerns - trust will win
8. Anti-social media - users move towards smaller communities
9. Privacy paradox - user concerns not reflected in behavior. Data privacy/ownership complicated to solve/regulate
10. Cyberattacks - unprepared as the whole system with backups may be targetted.
11. Startup survival - hard to beat Big Tech; but search for options

Been educating myself regarding all things tech. Decent collections of short essays, lots of cool things on the horizon in tech industry especially in AI, IoT and commercial quantum computing. It's a little underwhelming though, the brevity of some of these essays; would have appreciated more depth and discourse on certain topics.

Learnt some wonderful things. But the presentation was not upto the mark. Some of these, had they been essays or papers in colleges would fail to get a score of more than six out of ten, provided they had a benign instructor grading them. Why was that? Because when you're describing some stats and curves of a plot it's imperative that you include that plot instead of asking readers to go to the footnotes and go to that link and check it out. That's outright bad writing.

Content itself was very good to okay. Depending on your seniority level and decision making power some can be very useful and totally not to you. Nevertheless it's good to know how the tech world is shaping up. And to realign on what experts are thinking about the tech in your field: is it shaping up the way you've thought given your insights from your work.

Helps understand the frameworks we need to have before even we start something so we always address data privacy issues rather than dealing with them as an after thought. This aspect along with the cybersecurity aspect were dealt very well.

Anyone in Tech field will find at least one article useful, so a good read.

A comprehensive but easy to digest review of all the newest advances in technology and the ways that they can change our lives. Chapters are short and concise, with convenient "takeaways" summary at the end of each. The range of topics is broad, from 5G and AI to cyberattacks and privacy issues. The approach is business-minded, but it will be an inspiring read for everyone interested in the direction in which the world is heading.

When business think of technology, they think of digital, connected technology first. But technology can be much more.

The articles (all in relation to the future of businesses) are about Smart-speakers, Audio user interface, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, technological ethics, blockchain, robotics, learning about technology, redesigning roles, Social platforms, private messaging and mode of communications, and Cyber Security attacks. Moreover, How businesses can build trust with the consumer? Can we expect viral content before it comes online? (content topic analysis and self-report such a likelyhood to share, with electrophysiological or bio-metric measurements such as galvanic skin response GSR, EEG and eye tracking. How wearble AI can (or cannot) amplify human-intelligence? Also Data labor concept, data ownership and minimum data wage! more rights of digitale Agency.

All in all it’s a great read!

This is pretty much what one would expect from HBR. "The Year in Tech 2021" is a quick , well thought out high level overview of the technologies and fields of focus that HBR thinks will be most relevant in 2021. Overall, the coverage is impressive and insightful, although there is nothing really amazingly deep or thought provoking about this book and the authors definitely stay away from making risky predictions. The focus on the the interconnected nature of current technologies is a nice touch. This is definitely worth a quick read (or listen) for anyone who wants to remain current with the direction modern technologies are developing.

This book is a good collection of short essays about the most important technology such as AI, AR, Privacy, 5G, Blockchain, etc. Each essay has a short review about the technology and key takeaways for the readers. The content is very highly level, so it is recommended for businesses C-level or common readers.

It is a treasure box of information about future technology that is just around the corner and how it is going to impact us.
It's power is its simplicity. It is divided into easy to understand concepts.
It has articles devoted to 5 G, blockchain, startup versus giants, AI, smart speakers and wearable technologies.
I liked chapter on startups who have managed to fight tech giants.
It is wonderful book for tech geeks to get a peek into what is round the corner in technology sphere.
