Already Seen By Blake Pierce I like this series already, mostly due to the great mystery and psychic abilities of the main character. I am frustrated that she won't share her secret with her FBI partner. 😒
This is the story of Laura Frost who is an FBI Agent and her partner Nathaniel Lavoie. This time they are sent to Tacoma Washington to solve the mystery of women who are being killed by being stabbed in the heart. It would seem that the killer is just killing acting coaches but what will Laura and Nate uncover. When the story opens up we are still addressing the fact that Laura has taken Governor Fallow's daughter Amy because of the psychic visions that she has and is unable to let anyone know because they will think she is crazy. The only reason that her partner and her boss back her because of the results that they get. I like this story but I want her to be able to tell her partner because I don't want the idea that people can accept her truth and still know that she is not crazy. Laura and Nate make good partners but he does know that Laura is holding something back and doesn't trust him as much as he trusts her. Can't wait to see what happens with Lacey her daughter and Amy the other little girl that she kidnapped from the governor's mansion. Good read I can't wait to the next one.
I just feel lost. I feel like I'm missing something. Was it ever explained about Laura's alcoholism? There were a few random lines towards the end of the book, but that's it. She seems to often tell Nate that she's not going to go drinking or fall off the bandwagon, and he doesn't question her about it. So was it before she was an agent? Or did she have to take time off when she was struggling so bad? Did the boss let her continue on even though she was drinking so much? I felt like there should be a 0.5 book before book 1 to explain things. Even when I started book one, I felt like something was missing. The story jumped right in with action but didn't explain anything about Laura as an agent, so I tried to research online. I do like the Amy plot line. I'm glad she isn't with her abusive governor of a father. And the mother had to know it was going on. It would be amazing if Laura could have her daughter Lacey and Amy both with her, like sisters. But how could she do that with her job, and put their safety at risk. I keep wondering if Laura and Nate will end up together. But she won't tell him about her fears for him, so that would have to come first. I could not keep up with the real murderer and all the actresses/coaches. Is Caleb the new romance? I don't trust him. OK - so Laura and Nate are stationed in DC, not Washington. They just fly all over to solve crimes. Poor Laura is in such a Catch 22. She either helps Amy but risks the chance that she can't be with her daughter cuz her husband could find out. Or stick with Lacey and trying to get her back, but then live with the knowledge that Amy could be being hurt by her father, the Governor.
Let me start by saying, if you haven’t read the first book, you need to do that. There is an ongoing backstory that begins in the first book. Laura is not your typical FBI agent. She possesses some psychic ability. Disability, only enhances the entire storyline. She is also trying to gain back custody of her daughter. While dealing with personal life problems, attempting to continue to hide her ability from her FBI partner, she is also trying to save a six-year-old little girl from a life of abuse, and possibly early death. This six-year-old little girl, is not any little girl, she is the daughter of the governor. Laura definitely has her plate full. This is an excellent series! Addictive, extremely suspenseful, Sterling, high intensity!
I'm into the story and definitely want to see how it ends but I'mnot sure i want to continue. I took a star off because I do agree that it's starting to get really repetitive like I felt some chapters could've been combined or just taken out. I also took off another star because the scenes mentioning race card and racism with one of the suspects she was interviewing was written very poorly. I understand where it could've gone but I feel that the author doesn't really have a lot of knowledge or maybe doesnt fully understand and something that may seem really small and unimportant be a huge thming that many minorities face or feel. I feel that was something that could've been taken out since that's not what the book is about at all or just written better and fully explored.
This is a second in the series about FBI Agent Laura Frost. Laura is battling taking a drink, she must stay sober to get her daughter back. But, everyday is a struggle. Being an FBI Agent Laura faces different cases, but she has one secret, she is psychic.
Being psychic, allows her to delve into the cases she is investigating, allowing her to see images of what might be or who the killer is. She also has psychic visions about her partner, Nate. The visions are of his death. She tries to keep that on her mind in trying to help Nate when they are working a case.
The case she is on with Nate this time as females acting teachers being killer. Her visions are always there and she must learn to trust them.
Next installment for Laura! In this book, we see Laura work on another case while also the continued case from the first book, and it’s interesting to see how she handles juggling both while maintaining her sobriety. I was happy that it seems her ex-husband seems to give her some time with her daughter, but it’s also an interesting dynamic because you can feel his anger come off the pages. I also don’t understand the hesitation she has with telling her partner about her abilities – I wish she would tell him! I’m intrigued to see how her character develops in the next book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another chapter in the Laura Frost series. This episode was much like the first in that it highlights Laura's psychic ability and the fact that she doesn't trust anyone to talk about it. There are six episodes in the series and I'm a little bored that the formula hasn't changed so far. Will Laura ever confide in her partner Nate? I'm not willing to read through four more episodes to find out she is still not trusting anyone. The prose and dialog is good and the cases she and Nate work on are interesting. But there is something missing from the stories. I will probably read episode #3 but beyond that I don't know.
Great story with great suspense but….I listened to the second book on audio after forgetting about the first one I listened to. I have a hard time listening to a story that is taking place in the United States with somebody with an English accent, reading it. The woman who reads it tries to do a southern accent, which is absolutely ridiculous. Her voice trying to do a male voice is really sad
Using the pronunciation how many people from England do it without pronouncing the TH sound.…nuffiing instead of nothing, anover instead of another, wiff instead of with. Sorry, I will not do any more audiobooks in this series.
The second episode in the Laura Frost series is a mediocre narrative of an alcoholic FBI agent, trying to overcome her addiction and relying on her psychic abilities of premonition to solve crimes. FBI agent Laura and her partner Nathe are ordained to a new case in Tacoma, where two female acting coaches are found murdered in as many days. Suspecting a case of a serial killer on the loose, the FBI alongside the local PD must act fast in time to prevent another mishap. During their course of the investigation, while they apprehend and examine a possible suspect, another woman, a manager at a book store is found murdered. With the MO of the killer taking a different route this time, Laura and Nathe are caught off-guard and they need to scrutinize all the case files again. With a herculean task on hand and running short of time before a fourth victim is found, Laura turns to her psychic gift of premonition to get a vision of the killer or the place of the next crime. Finally, after much ado, when she does get a vision, she follows her instincts to nab the perpetrator. Amidst the investigation, she is often distracted by the thoughts of Amy (the Governor's daughter), whom she had rescued in the first edition of the book, and her daughter Lacey, who is in the custody of her husband after a failed marriage. Nathe was ever supportive in his role and never questioned her so-called gut feelings although he is convinced that there is something more to her story. The storyline was uneventful in a manner that it relies on premonition to solve crimes than an analytical CSI. Although a good read, I would not rate it more than 3.5
Laura is a troubled human being, she has visions that can be triggered anytime, used to be an alcoholic, has lost the guardianship of her daughter, and fears losing her FBI partner because she feels she cannot tell him about her visions. The plot is well written, there are twists and turns but things seem feasible and the culprit is found, although in an unexpected way. A surprise and a new challenge await Laura when she returns home. Very entertaining and easy to read!
I will admit that I did not read the first book in this series which made the beginning of this one rather abrupt but I got past that. What I had a problem with (in listening to the audiobook) was the FBI agents having British accents. The ending leaves you wanting more, which I suppose is the objective in a series, but I would have thought that Laura could have squared things up with her partner a bit before the Epilogue closed.

Single mom, recovering alcoholic and psychic Special Agent with the FBI, Laura Frost tracks down a serial killer. Laura and her partner Nate work well together but she's keeping her abilities hidden. Laura's visions are painful and triggered by touch. She hasn't confided in Nate and fears what she saw when he touched her. Nate knows something's strange about how Laura knows things she shouldn't. Compelling page turner.

Very slow paced. Hardly any action. I didn't feel like I could connect with any of the characters though I was rooting for some partner action between Laura and Nate even though Laura hasn't let Nate in on her abilities even after he asked her a million times how she knows things she shouldn't. I think I could stick around for more of this series if it picked up the pace a little and if Laura grows a backbone and embraces her gifts.
This was enjoyable, but the past few Blake Pierce books I've read need an editor to proofread them. This book had less internal dialogue about her craving alcohol, which made it more enjoyable. A little bit of that goes a long way. It was too heavy handed in Book 1.
I liked the first book. This one however, seemed a bit dragging and lacking in suspense. I dont usually notice plot holes but this book seems to have a lot of 'em and pretty much revolving about being able to solve a crime bec of her gifts. I kinda feel that this should be a bit balanced with detective work even if the core plot was about an FBI with a gift.
This entire book could fit in one chapter if she would quit repeating herself over and over again. I have enjoyed her previous books but maybe she’s trying too write too many.
Nevermind tracking killers... A Mother's love is always the strongest motivation to move a plot forward. Murder stories -- especially in fiction are interesting to read. I'm hooked on love. Grandma Shellie in FL.
I really enjoyed this sequel! Agent Laura Frost & her partner Nate have to fly cross-country to help solve the murders of three women. Can they do it before there's a 4th?
Excellent series but I do so want to slap Laura sometimes. She's super stubborn ! Fast paced, emotional, dramatic and suspenseful. Pierce certainly knows how to pull the reader in to his characters! Once again I'm hooked on another of his series.
Not going to finish the series... It tries to be Amos Decker but it's not, it doesn't have a clear path forward, repetitive lines to fill in pages and although the original idea is good, the execution lacks in depth, editing and clarity...
A good mystery series that is heavier than a cozy but not quite written like a 5 star thriller.
Knocked off a star because of inconsistency with last chapter ... She arrived by taxi, yet left in her own car?! Needs better editing, but author knocks out 3 books a month so it's bound to happen.
I absolutely love this series. I love how passionate Laura frost is. She’s a strong independent women who isn’t afraid to standup for what is right. I love how passionate she is about being an FBI Agent. The ending of this book had such a great cliff hanger, now on to the next book of the series
I got this book from the library app, this is only my honest opinion. An action packed , serial thriller novel ( s). I recommend this series , so far ; This was the second . I can't hardly stand the wait for the rest of them!
This is the second book in this series that I have read/listened to. Very disappointed that the narrator from the first book is also the narrator on this book. I di not enjoy thid book either. I will not be reading any more from this series.
Having to deal with all life’s ups and downs all while trying to catch a serial killer
Life is hard sometimes, catching a serial killer is stressful enough. Add to that, being afraid to trust telling her partner about her abilities to know what’s going to happen.
Liked this one much more than book 1. Still a quick and easy read. Plot was quick and well paced. The overarching conflicts are developing well. Really like Laura's partner and her choices with him are a bit frustrating! Looking forward to book 3.
Special Agent, Laura Frost has psychic abilities. These premonitions help her solve cases but aren’t always clear cut. In this book she is trying to find a serial murderer who is targeting acting coaches. Will her premonitions come true or will they help her solve the case.
