Hockey Hotties #1

My Lucky #13

Rate this book
Lucky.

The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and my team owner is talking about trading me.

I’ve never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be.

Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year’s Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game—that’s three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not talking about it.

I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want.

True romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💛🖤💜💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒
Character development: ☺️😊😘😍

The heroine(s): Saige - she does the social media for professional athletes. Though she has promised herself she will never date another athlete after a past relationship gone wrong. She is dating Joran, who is a sports agent and happens to be Aiden Drake’s agent.

The Hero: Aiden “Shamrock” Drake - an NHL Professional Hockey player in a slump. He hasn’t scored in the last eight games and could be traded to another team. Despite his nickname, Aiden has never believed in luck or superstition, but at the following game after spending time with a woman who interests him at a party, he scores a hat trick.

The Story: After scoring the Hat Trick, Aiden’s coach and team, who are all superstitious hockey players, push him to figure out what he did that was out of the ordinary and keep doing it before every game. The only thing he can think of is his encounter with Saige, so he looks her up before the next game and sure enough he scores in the next game. This quickly turned into a superstition for Aiden and he decides to make it his go to before every game.

I have been loving sports romance lately and it is Hockey season, so I have been loving books like this lately and this one had a cute twist. Add that to the fact that the audiobook was told in dual POV by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood, two of my favorite narrators, this was book hit the spot for me.

I liked the fact that this was a real romance with Aiden and Saige spending a lot of time together and getting to know each other very well before the book heats up quite a bit. I also liked the social media storyline, which turned out quite good.

Genre ~ sports romance
Series ~ Hockey Hotties, #1
Setting ~ Florida
Publication date ~ June 29, 2021
Est Page Count ~ 268
Audio length ~ 6 hours 24 minutes
Narrators ~ Jason Clarke, Savannah Peachwood
POV ~ dual 1st
Featuring ~ NHL player, social media manager, a cute superstition, slow burn, minimal steamage

Aiden & Saige

Do you believe in superstitions? Before every game Aiden needs Saige to throw a drink in his face. Cute! It's proving to work when he's finally scoring in every game.

Aiden was not your typical playboy that we read about so often. He was a real sweet standup guy. Saige was sweet, too, but her dating his agent for a good portion was unnecessary and turned me off.

They had good chemistry and their banter was perfect. I liked them together a lot, but he really bugged me with the 3rd act, as they always do. Also, hate when a character thinks that just because they were burned by a professional athlete in the past that they just automatically think all other athletes will do the same. So stereotypical 🙄

Anyway, I'll probably read or listen to the rest of the series.

Narration notes:
Both well seasoned and did great.

Side bar ~ guy on the cover is giving me younger James Van Der Beek vibes.

Aiden and Saige... Sigh. Cue the swoon and good feelings because that's what you're gonna get if you read this sweet hockey romance!

Aiden is the center for Florida Fury, one of the best hockey players and one of the most eligible bachelors in the league. He is determined and knows how to get what he wants... by hard work and never giving up. He was almost too good to be true. He was polite and knew how to treat a lady. He could whisper sweet nothings, but also could whisper the dirty as well. Those were some of the best 🔥🔥
Saige was sweet and just had that the best personality. She had to have a strong backbone though with her career dealing with pro athletes. She knew how athletes were and wanted nothing to do with them. Even the likes of one Aiden Drake.

Their chemistry was so real and not forced. It was sweet how it evolved into something more. More than either had signed up for.

Her best friend WAS the best! So awesome and sassy. I sure hope she gets her own book!

I have high hope for My Lucky #13. Sadly I only enjoyed it OK. It is noy bad but not great either.
What is missing is the groveling. The chemistry between Aidan and Sage is missing.

The plot also needs more twist and drama. Good thing the lenght of this book is short.

Not a great start for my first book in 2022.

My Lucky #13 is the first full length Novel in the Hockey Hotties Series and man are we off to a great start. I was introduced to Aiden in his cousin Frankie's book, A CO-WORKERS CRUSH, and I have been looking forward to his story ever since...and it was sooo worth the wait.

This didn't come off as a typical sports romance for me although it did revolve around Aiden's Hockey career, for me it played more into the superstitions and lucky charms we believe in, yes I know not everyone does but most do and this book was a perfect example of that. Aiden always seemed to have good luck, heck the guys even called him Shamrock because of it, but one day his luck ran out. Now he's been in a slump for the last 8 games and there are rumors that he may be traded if things don't turn around.

Aiden meets Saige at a party on New Years Eve and after their encounter he goes on to score a Hat Trick in the next game, now he figures he has to do what he did before that game before each of the games for the rest of the season, which means he needs to find Saige and talk her into going along with his plans. Crazy right, yeah she thinks so too LOL

The chemistry was great between Aiden and Siage right from the start. This was a great start to what I suspect will be another amazing series from the duo Piper Rayne. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Sports Romance, or Spicy New Adult Contemporary Romances.

If you enjoy Audiobooks I would highly recommend this format as well because the dual narration between Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood was great, they really brought this story to life.

Happy Reading!!!

“It feels as though we were two lost puzzle pieces who found each other in a land of misfits.”

This story was what I needed . A very enjoyable hockey romance.

Filled with passion , all kind of emotions and so much fun in between.

Aiden and Saige’s story is unique and with a touch ( or better a splash ) of superstition.

Their journey was filled with cute, sexy and magical moments. You can really feel how much they just fit together, like they were always meant to be.

“Sometimes the best things happen as a result of the worst things you could imagine.”

This book has something that really capture you, and you just can’t put it down.

A classical hockey romance that will brighten your week for sure.

I gave it 4 stars

I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!

I loved it! 😍

It might not be the best sports romance I've ever read but I had a really great time reading it!

First of all, Aiden is not your typical hockey player and that's probably why I loved him so much. He's not your cliché manwhore and he's such a sweetheart! Even though he had feelings for Saige (h) from the beginning he never acted on them since (he thought) she was dating his agent. And when he did act on them he made sure Saige was on the same page. When he realized what he did, the first thing he did was to go find him to let him know that he wants to be with Saige.

As for Saige, I get why he didn't tell Aiden she ended things with his agent but that doesn't mean that was okay. She was a likeable heroine though, and I think she and Aiden were a great couple.

I think my favorite part was when they visited Aiden's family and when he introduced his nephews to her, I did laugh a lot then.

Overall, it was a great read and I'll definitely read the next books in the series soon. Just note that before reading this book you should check out Countdown to a Kiss, which is free on Amazon, and it's a prequel of this story. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that before reading this book so I'm reading it now. It's more like a 4.5 star read for me but I'll round it up since I couldn't put it down. 4.5→5 ⭐

I have thoughts on this one...

First off, romance authors please please please can we stop with the awful third act break up. It's so tired, repetitive, predictable, formulaic, and to be honest a very cheap plot device. And it just did not make sense or flow with this particular story. One minute Aiden was professing his love for Saige, publicly posting on his instagram that she was his future wife, and then allows himself to be talked into breaking up with her...what?

Also, from the very beginning of their actual relationship he made it clear that she was the one (she also shared the sentiment) and that they were in it for the long haul, plus he already knew her history with worthiness and bad breakups and mentioned that we would never do something like that to her. And then he just breaks up with her after the previous chapter introducing her to his family and saying she was his someday wife. I mean make it make sense to me. For this couple this third act breakup formula does not work at all, it feels incredibly unrealistic not to mention really ruins the flow of the story. Im tired of authors trying to shoe horn tired formulaic plot devices because they are to be expected and the best way to create some kind of climax that readers will be comfortable with because they know by the end of the story the couple will be back together.

And then after Aiden unceremoniously dumps her and breaks her heart Saige decides to take hime back after some lame and cheesy ass instagram post declaring what a horrible mistake he made and how much he loves and misses her? No ma'am that is not it at all. I don't know if it's because public displays like that fill me with so much second hand embarrassment or what, but I felt like that was the weakest kind of apology I have seen in awhile. Plus it annoyed me because when he was leaving Saige's house after dumping her she proclaimed that this was it and that after he left they would never get back together and then it takes a dumb post and some hockey tickets for her to immediately change her mind? Beyond lame in my opinion.

Next, this one feels minor in comparison to my main gripe of the boring bland ass breakup plot device, but why did Saige keep lying about being with Joran well into the book and her "friendship" with Aiden?? And I'm sorry but if she really was dating and together with Joran her relationship with Aiden would definitely be considered cheating; it was incredibly inappropriate especially with the addition of him being her client. I also find this such an odd choice to do since she herself was cheated on by her previous boyfriend and it really wrecked her and was still affecting her yearsss later. So with that in mind her lying tactic was also incredibly childish and immature. It kind of embarrassed me and made me want to find out her age because a confident grown ass woman would not be pulling that shit, even if the idea of entering another relationship made her nervous or scared. It really made me look down on her as a character a bit, which feels really strong to say but wow it just struck me as such a bullshit move.

Another extremely minor thing that annoyed me were a handful of the side characters, mainly Tedi. She was so annoying and over the top vulgar that it was just grating and not funny to me, and it felt like she was written to be vulgar for shock value and to make her seem like a "cool" girl instead of it just being a part of her personality (which I wouldn't have minded at all). And the hypocrisy that surrounded Tedi's "fuck-it bucket list" which was seen in a nonjudgmental light by Saige compared to Saige's judgment of hockey players being manwhores who screwed a lot of women was so frustrating! How is it okay for Tedi to sleep who she wants with based on a bucket list, as well as sleep with men immediately after meeting them, but then it not be okay for hockey players to sleep with people they just met. That really annoyed me because it should not matter who people sleep with or how many people they sleep with (obvs consensual and all that) as long as others are not being deceived or cheated on, etc.

Ughhh so I had so many things I disliked versus how many that I liked and I fear that that is going to be a theme within this series, but the authors have laid out a really compelling romance pairing for the next few books that I want to see play out. so I am resigning myself to knowing that I am going to be massively frustrated and angry just to see how the couples get together. Superstitions, hockey, emotions and passion. My Lucky #13 is all that and more.

I absolutely love Aiden. He is in a slump and all it took was a glass of wine to the face and that slump had ended. Now he is determined to stay out of the slump, even if it means a glass of wine has to be thrown in his face before every game. Aiden is so much more than just a hockey player. He is the team captain, he is a great friend, uncle, brother, and son. He loves hockey but there is also a love he has for his family, especially his niece. Saige isn’t new to the sports world, however, after being burned in the past buy a boyfriend who also happened to be an athlete, she tends to stay away from them, even more so when they are also her client.

I loved the friendship that Aiden and Saige formed. While it was an odd start with her throwing the wine in his face, the more time they spent together it just grew into something. There was also a connection between them and a spark, but neither really acted upon it. Though chemistry can only be ignored for so long before things explode. There were some ups and downs to their relationship, plenty of steam and lots of laughs.

I adored the secondary characters who also happen to be Aiden’s teammates and best friends. I can’t wait to see where their stories go!

If you’re looking for a hockey romance this is one to check out!

It’s safe to say Piper Rayne can write just about anything- they write this sports romance with the same characteristic charm and finesse that we’ve come to love about their most cherished series. I simply loved this series debut- it gave me all my usual Piper Rayne swoons and smiles. Charming characters, sizzling chemistry, and light hearted fun- I may have a new favorite Piper Rayne series on my hands! Lucky 13 indeed!

There’s just something about sports romances that I love every time. I don’t care if it’s the exact same template as most sports romances out there I’ll still eat it up.

This one did not disappoint. There’s nothing new really in the book but I did like the concept of her being his superstition. They were cute together and although I wouldn’t have gone to the game at the end there, I thought I was still very adorable.

There was very low angst and no OW drama so it’s a fairly light read but if you love sports romances I’d definitely reconnect this!

Is there anything better than when one of your favourite writing duos announces they are writing a series with one of your favourite themes? From the minute it was revealed I have been dying to get my hands on it. Knowing that I’m going to enjoy the writing is always a huge draw, especially when you know that the book is going to be happy and easy to get lost in for a few hours. Add in a hockey hottie and I’m there.

I really enjoyed both characters, they were cute and genuine. They each came with their own baggage and had reason not to trust each other but neither of them used it as an excuse to hide from their feelings. Well, mostly. They each were honest and open and didn’t play games and I found them really endearing. Especially Aiden. He was in a bad place but he wasn’t negative or blaming anyone for his issues. He just made a plan to turn his luck around and approached it logically (kinda) and worked on it.

Saige was sweet. I couldn’t get enough of her. I completely understood and respected her reluctance to get into a relationship with Aiden. But she didn’t use her reasons against Aiden she just explained it and let his actions speak for themselves. They were great together and I loved the whole relationship.

Oh and then they had the super sweet as sugar cameo from previous couples from their other series and I was all melty and happy.

''forbidden'' friends to lovers romance.

Aiden isn't superstitious, but after finally winning a game after a bunch of bad games, he associates the win with the girl he met on new year's eve.
Saige is a social media manager and she's not a fan of hockey players, but she can't say no to Aiden when he asks her to throw champagne on him before his games.
They start to travel together and become friends, but they can't deny their attraction to each other.

A very solid start to a brand new series, this quick and sexy forbidden romance introduces plenty of characters that I'd like to get to know better. I love the team aspect, and I'm already looking forward to a few of the love stories that are coming up next. The love story in this particular book was kinda meh for me though - I liked both characters, I liked them together, but the fact that our hero believes the heroine is in a relationship with his agent sours some of the sweetness. That subplot went on for way, WAY longer than I would've liked, so it took some of the fun out the romance for me. But the book is otherwise pretty great - it's low angst and high feels, with a strangers to friends to lovers romance that focuses on the emotional connection. I loved that aspect of the story, and our hero's genuine affection for his girl shone on every page.

The story follows Aiden, a pro hockey player who has always been lucky. Things seem to work out for him, but lately his luck has been changing. When he meets a great girl on New Year's Eve, Aiden thinks it's the start of a love connection. But Saige is dating his agent, and that makes her completely off-limits. She throws a drink in his face that night and Aiden's luck starts turning around, so his superstitious teammates encourage him to recreate the scenario - before EVERY game. Suddenly, the girl Aiden would like to get to know better is a major part of his life, and that's complicated. Though Saige isn't truly in a relationship with someone else, she's also not interested in starting something up with a hockey player who is sure to let her down. But attraction lingers between them, and it's impossible to ignore.

So the two major things that bummed me out about the storyline are that 1. we don't actually see the meet cute in this. It's part of Countdown to a Kiss, the novella that precedes the first three books in the series. The introductions to the first three relationships are all in that novella, so I do suggest reading it first. 2. The whole "dating someone else" storyline definitely felt slimy at a certain point. It's one thing to crush on "someone else's girl," it's another thing to further cross emotional/physical lines. So, while I liked Aiden a LOT and I loved the slow burn, I couldn't get completely invested in the relationship. Without that aspect of the story though, this would've been great. I also really liked some of the other characters who are introduced, and I am very much looking forward to the next book. This is definitely successful as a series starter - I can't wait for more. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sports romance.

My Lucky #13 by the authors Piper Rayne was the first book in the Hockey Hotties series.

We met Aiden Drake previously in A Co-Worker’s Crush (book six, The Rooftop Crew series) as Frankie’s cousin. Although enjoyable, it wasn’t necessary to have read the previous series first.

Aiden was an NHL player. He was the Florida Fury’s star center and captain. He was nicknamed Shamrock because he was lucky. Until he wasn’t. He was currently in a nine game slump but happened to meet Saige on New Year’s Eve and a lucky streak began - but not for the reasons you would think. Saige was a Social Media Expert for Professional Athletes, yet she vowed to never date one….again. And the chase began.

As expected, the authors told a humorous tale that began with a friendship (albeit one full of sexual chemistry) and led to paths that revealed both back stories while forging into the future. It was a mixture of fun and serious moments.

I enjoyed everything about Aiden and Saige. Throw in some crazy and loyal sidekicks and it was both enjoyable and entertaining. The authors also did a great job of setting up the remainder of the series through Aiden’s teammates and besties, Ford and Maksim. Maskim is up first in Trouble with #9 and it has promise for another explosive but fun story!

Wow! Just wow! I have been excited for this series because let’s face it hockey hotties and Piper Rayne? No brainer. I adored how this story started. Good luck charms and superstitions? No way. And this one takes the cake. Throwing a drink in someone’s face? Too funny. Aiden knows that Saige is off limits since when he meets her she is on a date with his agent and friend. But keeping her around to throw that drink is a convenient way to get to know her better. He has a gut feeling that she needs to be in his life. Trusting her is a whole new level for him. Saige is also leary of relationships, especially with athletes. Her history defines her future. I loved both of these people. Aiden feels he can’t have anything other than hockey but his feeling for Saige cannot be swept aside. Saige has to trust in someone other than her inner circle but Aiden comes barreling through. I can’t wait for the rest of the guys to have their own HEAs. That is after they royally mess up anyway.

“I swore a long time ago that I’d never date a professional athlete again. Been there. Done that. Shattered heart to prove it.”

This was a fast, cutesy read. Nothing special but it was fun. I was frustrated by from the third act breakup, and Saige forgave Aiden too easily, but other than that I enjoyed it.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

I'm late to the game with this series so none of you need me to tell you any plot this or that about it but I will say that I enjoyed the story and it made me happy until ...

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE when an author makes a choice to cause a huge negative dramatic event right after a huge positive event (and when I say right after, I mean like less than 24 hours) just to have whomever did all this brouhaha to turn around and have to grovel to the other person. OH YEAH, and I really love it when it happens at the 90% mark of the book! #sarcasm #fuckery

This could have been a 5+ star experience for me but it lost an immense amount of shine for me with the above mentioned scenario and the worst part is the story did not need it to be THAT plot-point. And that's all I'm going to say on the subject :)

Piper Rayne has once again started off a new series with a bang! This book had me from the first chapter to the last with the witty banter, scorching chemistry and swoon-worthy story I couldn't put down. Aiden and Saige were fun-loving, flirtatious and so sweet you can't help but fall in love with them. I also loved done secondary characters such as Tedi which I hope gets her own book because that woman was hilarious!! If you love a fun sports romcom then you'll definitely love this book!

This book was absolutely AMAZING!!! I LOVED IT! There is nothing better than a great hockey romance. I was so excited to read Aiden and Saige's story after reading Countdown to a Kiss. They had some chemistry between them so I was excited to see how it would play out.

This is a slow-burn romance that really pulls you in. These two both have a pull towards each other but they both resist it for different reasons. They really grow a great friendship and have a really great time together. I was really pulling for them throughout the book. Aiden flirting with Saige throughout was great!

I also loved the friendship between Aiden, Maksim, and Ford. Same with Saige and Tedi. I really hope we get to see more of Aiden and Saige in Maksim's book!

I'm completely hooked on this series!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

3.5 stars. My Lucky #13 is a hockey romance and the first in a series by author duo Piper Rayne. I recently read my first book from this author duo and decided to jump into more of their backlist, which it seems like all of their books are available as hoopla audios.

Aiden is a hockey player and seems to have lost his luck on the ice since he hasn’t scored a goal in the last 8 games. He always seemed to be lucky before and even has been nicknamed “Shamrock” for most of his career. His fellow teammates are full of hockey superstitions and when he finally scores a goal one night, they’re convinced he needs to do whatever he did that night again to keep scoring goals! Which is when he remember he recently met Saige. He thought he hit it off with her at a party, but then found out she was there as his agent (and good friend)’s date. She threw a drink in his face at the party and he rolls up to her work one day requesting she do it again so he can score some goals in the next game.

This is a pretty quick read, low angst, and cute! Not a new fav hockey romance but nothing was wrong with it either, it was just fun. Saige swore a long time ago that she wouldn’t date a pro hockey player again after getting her heart broken years ago. So they end up becoming friends first as she travels with him and throws a drink on him pre-games. She was barely casually dating his agent and that eventually stops which allows Aiden and her to finally get together. We do see lots of the side characters being setup and I can see this being a fun, easy series. Always a plus when there is an audiobook though the library too, so just a win all around.

My Lucky #13 is the first book in Piper Rayne’s new Hockey Hotties series and I thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing story. Aiden Drake is the captain of the Florida Fury NHL hockey team and Saige is a social media manager who just happens to be dating Aiden’s agent when they meet at a party. Aiden is in the worst slump of his career and while he’s never believed in superstitions before, but after an incident with Saige his slump is broken and he now believe he needs her help to continue playing well and hopefully not be traded. I loved the way these two met, their flirty banter, and the fact that once Aiden knew she was dating someone he was respectful of that even as their friendship grew.

I loved Aiden, he was smart, funny, sweet, sexy, a good friend, a good son, brother, uncle, cousin, you name it. Frankly, he was a good guy and while he wasn’t a saint, for a star player and captain of a team he was pretty low key. He has a good reason why he doesn’t do social media and why he doesn’t trust the press and it comes from a good place. While there was no doubting he wanted Saige from the first time he spotted her, it was also obvious that he just wasn’t after her for sex. He enjoyed talking to her, making her laugh, bantering with her and honestly, he was pretty devastated to realize she was his agent’s date.

Overall I liked Saige although I didn’t agree with her not giving Aiden a fair chance because of her ex-boyfriend’s bad behavior and the fact that she didn’t correct Aiden’s assumption about her relationship status which made me feel like she was playing games. I did find it interesting she wanted to help Aiden even when he had decided he didn’t need it and the fact that she handled his social media with care because of what happened in the past. They had great chemistry and I believe she’s a good person, I think for me for most of this book I felt like Aiden deserved someone better.

I loved meeting several of the Florida Fury players and the bromances between them, it was easy to see this was a team that trained hard, played hard, and loved to give each other sh*t.

My Lucky #13 kicks off this series on a high note, it was smart, funny, and very sexy. I’m looking forward to the next books in this series.

I love a good sports romance (especially hockey) and this one didn’t disappoint. I liked the hero and heroine both and that their romance took a while to blossom. Some minor spoilers ahead.

Aiden is a pro hockey player who is in a slump and doesn’t score any goals anymore. That all changes after New Years Eve when Saige throws a glass of wine in his face. He was never superstitious before (he even picked jersey number 13 to prove it) but when he scores again, he’s certain it’s because of Saige. So what’s an athlete to do? Ask her to throw wine in your face before every game. It was funny and it was a reason for them spending time together. Saige doesn’t want to date an athlete, because she’s “been there done that” and got burned. But while spending time with Aiden she sees a different side of him. Still not sure because of her past, she keeps him at arms length until she can’t deny him any longer. Of course the shoe drops, but this is picked up quite quickly. No major drama here. The grovel is good enough!

Safe read. Hero isn’t a manwhore 🙌🏻 and he’s such a good guy! Heroine was dating hero’s agent, but never slept with him and ends it before being with hero. No cheating. No OW/OM drama.

We got to read some bits and pieces about the heroes in the other two books. Looking forward to Maksim’s book who’s up next. I really liked him in this book! Ford not so much. He’s a major manwhore, needs to have sex before every game otherwise he “can’t perform” 🤮 Had a threesome before a game once and it was his best performance yet 🤮🤮 With the “he got his random hook up pregnant” trope, I am so not looking forward to his book. I’m not sure how the authors can redeem him into a swoony hero, but we’ll wait and see.

My Lucky #13 is the first book in Piper Rayne's new hockey series. As a huge fan of hockey and Piper Rayne I could not wait to read this. Aiden is a professional hockey player, he has always been good at his game and unlike his teammates he did not believe in superstitions, he never needed to. Until the night he meets Saige, at a New Year’s Eve party and she ends up throwing her drink in his face. Previous to this Aiden's game was suffering and he was on a no scoring streak. The very next game he breaks out of his slump and believes Saige throwing her drink in his face is what he needs to do at the start of every game going forward. This may sound ridiculous to some but hockey players and their superstitions are no joke! In typical Piper Rayne fashion this book kept me entertained from the very first to last page. The chemistry between Saige and Aiden was off the charts. I love getting to know all of Aiden's teammates and loved the comrade between the players. My Lucky #13 was fantastic start to what I know will be a great series. I cannot wait for the next one!

📍”She couldn’t be more perfect for me if a mad scientist made her specifically for me.”

I saw this copy (signed!!!!!) over on PangoBooks and I knew it had to be mine. Like Aiden, I saw something I wanted and went for it 😜

Not only is this edition drop ☠️ gorgeous, Saige & Aiden’s story is also fantastic. The boy obsessed meets the girl who was hurt and a friendship of sorts — or should I say, of superstitions — is born. Only they can’t ever be just friends, can they?

It’s the little things for me. Them exploring the cities. Them opening up about their past hurt. The chemistry also jumped off the page so that’s that 🥵

Piper Rayne makes loving sports romance easy 🩵

I know I should probably be reading football romance instead of hockey to stay on theme with the NFL playoffs (who do you have?) but there’s just something about these hockey romances 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
