Ms. Meyer's latest installment is a winner.

We have two unlikely-to-fall-in-love-with-each-other MC's who are both full of spitfire and sparks fly. It's a wonder the pages don't burn up as you read them.

There's lots to like about both Sean and Christine. Sean's livelihood and home are on the line. Christine's job could be at an end if she doesn't ace this assignment. What I enjoyed about both of them were their compassionate sides.

Clean, well-written, and full of warmth. Grab and go to Moose Falls for a spell.

HAHAHAHAHAHA the ending was SO FUNNY
Ok the reason why I read this is because I’ve read another book by this author and her books are no spice romance books so I thought why not and honestly this was SO SHORT so fun nothing crazy just unrealistic funny silly little read I wouldn’t like RECOMMEND but if you were to read it I would say go for it it was fun especially the ending 😭😭😭😭 + the cover !!! JAILLL

I borrowed Fighting Love for the Cowboy from the Kindle Unlimited Program.

Can you think of a more unlikely couple than Sean Petty, a Montana cowboy and Christine Jordan, a Washington, DC IRS auditing agent? Christine comes to Moose Falls, Montana to audit Sean's grandfather's ranch and he starts by calling her an IRS Dragon and the sparks start to fly.

Sean is working to take over his Grandfather's ranch but if the IRS audit finds a problem, he will face the loss of the ranch life he loves. The story involves a broken down car, a rescue of a damsel in distress, the difficult birth of a calf, a swim in the ranch's lake, romance, problem with the IRS audit and two stubborn people and ends with a grand romantic gesture.

Like all romance novellas I have picked up, this was too short. It lacked development and a sufficient time scale. Could have been a really good read too, if it had just a little more...well, more! Not a bad read, just too short.

In this sweet, clean romance, Sean is excited with the anticipation of being able to take over and own his grandfather's ranch. He is fully aware of his father's disapproval who would prefer him taking up law and joining him in “the real world”. Everything Sean wants is on the ranch and he is fighting for the right to protect and keep it safe. When a notification comes out of the blue that the IRS is sending an auditor to investigate the books of the Petty ranch, he is thrown a curved ball. The “dragon” auditor is nothing like he expected and when Christine steps into the mix, Sean realises that he is in more trouble than he first suspected. As the main character, one could feel Sean's pain that everything he is working for could possibly be taken from him. He is fighting his attraction to Christine, especially when she surprises him on a number of levels. Christine has had her own share of heartache, and with her job under threat she knows that she has to do a thorough job at the ranch or face being axed. As she gets sucked into the daily affairs of the ranch, she realises that there is more to the unpaid taxes than she at first realised and she begins to understand Sean's passion for his home. I enjoyed the build up of romance in this story, as well as the interaction between the characters. There was some humour, but mostly the book touched me as the realities of life began to surface. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone. It was, however, enjoyable meeting up with the characters from the first book of the series and seeing their progress. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

You know it's an Anne-Marie Meyer book when people are grabbing each other's elbows and someone "makes their way" somewhere (to the kitchen, truck, shoes, etc.) at least 4 times a chapter. A new writing choice in this book is the lack of clarity in the subject of the sentences. There were so many times where a sentence would say something about he or she or it but there wasn't a lot to go on regarding who the he or she or it was. Context didn't help much because this lack of clarity happened frequently when 2 guys were talking together or 2 girls were talking together. So who raised his/her brows or have a side glance? We'll never know.

My own personal pet peeves with word choice and sentence structure aside, the book was decent. Very short but it had good characters and chemistry. The book could have been at least twice as long and really gone in depth to all the side stories like the grandma, the accident, and oh I don't know--more than half a chapter about Christine actually doing the audit. I was really hoping Christine would see a mistake and come up with a solution and the book would actually be about her fighting for the ranch...But no. She pawned off that task to her boss (who hated her but [spoiler alert] then at the last minute changed his mind and grew a heart...where did that come from?). Christine did nothing to really help the ranch. She didn't even really do her auditing job except for 8 hours she organized the papers by date.

The book was clean and sweet. I liked it, but it seemed more like a rough draft with a lack of polish or real detail.

And why wasn't there a first book about Emma and Austin? I want to read that story!

A clean contemporary romance with City vs. Country aspect. Also a little guy challenge the government IRS struggles a thrilling triumph!

Sean was a man rebuilding his life, sacrifice, betrayal and survivor to follow his passion. His passion the clean rancher with a legacy of generations before him built and him to carry on. He working day and night to make it happen. It all looks hopefully until the rain IRS auditors come to shut it down and destroy his hopes. It is a David and Goliath burden. Against all odds he meets the auditor Christine whom just doing a job but she also is falling in love with the ranch and the owner. It fitting fate of two people can they survive this first huge IRS audit/risk losing the ranch. Violence0, sex0 just a re kisses a clean romance.

Christine is an IRS agent who has come to audit the Petty Ranch. Depending on her findings, they might have to sell the ranch in order to pay the back taxes. Sean Petty had dreams of owning his grandfather's ranch but when "the dragon lady" shows up, he is sure that will never happen. Problem is that he begins to see her as something more beautiful than a dragon and he wants to get to know her better. He isn't sure that is smart but he can't seem to help himself. Could there be a happy ending for them both?

This was a sweet, stand along romance that is part of a series. It is clean and wholesome and appropriate for anyone to enjoy. I listened to the audiobook version and the narration definitely had a twang that helped tell the cowboy story.

We met Sean in Marrying a Cowboy which was Emma and Austin's book. I was hoping he would get his own book - thank you to the author. Sean desperately wants his grandfather's ranch and Christine is the IRS agent he thinks will stop him. These two are on seemingly opposite sides but boy do the sparks of attraction fly between them. The scene where her car breaks down is pretty funny - gotta read. Loved getting to catch up with Emma and Sean. Can the dragon and the rancher meet in the middle? Both showed great character growth.

Cowboy meets a Dragon

This was a delightful read that was hard to put down. The writing kept me engaged to the end. Christine has a heart and tries to do the right thing even if she is seen as a dragon. Sean is a dedicated man and loyal to his grandpa and friends. I recommend this to anyone that loves sweet romance and spicy kisses. I had received a free copy this book. I enjoyed this romance ARC. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review this. I've given this a 4.5* rating. I really liked these characters and wanted the best for them. The hero needs some communication skills and learn how to deal with the closed in feelings. There were a lot of things going on in this story that nobody talked about. Anyway I want to read more of this author's work.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Christine Jordan is an IRS agent sent to audit the Petty ranch. Shawn Petty is the stubborn grandson of the owner of the ranch, and set to take it over. She finds Shawn’s grandfather didn’t report the sale of cattle several years in a row due to high medical bills when his wife contracted cancer. The plot involves developing friendships, doing a job and helping others.

This novella was a short read and was beautifully written. My first impression of Christine and Sean was that they were very cold and stubborn people, but they proved otherwise. Christine may seem cold from the outside, but she is actually a nice and passionate person. Sean may seem tough on the outside, but he is actually a total sweetheart after warming up.

Overall, this novella is quite wholesome, and I recommend reading it.

Sparks fly between Christine and Sean from the beginning. I already liked Sean from Emma And Austin's story. Christine comes off a bit insecure at first and then the more I got to know her throughout the story the more I liked her. I had to laugh when Sean called her a dragon. This is a quick read and a sweet clean romance.

Very cute story! Having spent a number of summers around Great Falls MT this brought back good memories. The story line around the IRS was a new one. The main characters seemed very real. Did not solve the relationship with his father left a little bit of concern in my mind. So could have used a little more background with the family

Sean and Christine both are spitfires and yet compassion shows for others. How to save and protect the ranch when he hears it is being audited. When Christine shows up to look at the books with her boss saying to do it, or forget you have a job.obstacles to resolve for love to come.Cute story.

Great characters and dialogue
The characters were wonderful. Both were stubborn and kind of snippy with each other, but they were also a bit insecure, especially when feelings for the other popped up.

The storyline itself was good, with the back and forth of sweetness and angst.

I've forgotten how much I like Ms. Meyer's writing style and am glad I pulled this one out of TBR stash.

A fun quick clean read. What an interesting way to meet, an IRS audit! Definitely not something that comes to mind when I think about romance, but it worked for Sean and Christine. They are cute together when they can forget what stands between them.
