It's time for a Braxton wedding and Jackson is back in Honey Grove trying to avoid the one thing he left long ago, Isabel.
"Man I love this series and I just keep drinking it up!!! It's so good and I'm so excited for the next one!!" --Amazon Reviewer
Previously, Her Ex
Jackson Braxton is back in Honey Grove for his brother’s wedding. He’s determined to make the best of this trip. After all it’s been eight years since he last spoke with his ex, Isabel. Surely they’ve both moved on.
Isabel Andrews is barely hanging on by a thread. Her father is slipping away from Alzheimers and her fiancé is determined to spend all his time away from Honey Grove—the one place she can’t seem to leave.
A broken car engine later, Jackson finds himself playing chauffeur to Isabel. After all, they were friends once, they can do it again.
Except, the heart doesn’t so easily forget.
If you love second chance romances and heroes that make you swoon, you'll the fourth installment of the Braxton Family Romance series, Forgiveness Found in Honey Grove.
Anne-Marie Meyer is a USA Today Bestselling author who lives south of the Twin Cities in MN. She spends her days with her knight in shining armor, four princes, and a baby princess.
When she's not running after her kids, she's dreaming up romantic stories. She loves to take her favorite moments in the books and movies she loves and tries to figure out a way to make them new and fresh.
Yeah yeah, surely they moved on, he fucking around and her with a fiance who is his face. And of course, she was always the love of his life so he was 8 years away isn't it ??? My God, when will these authors be original?
Ah the Braxton Brothers...and sister! Especially the Braxton momma! I love Sondra. Her scheming ways always have me chuckling when I'm reading about her boys. This one though, well her scheming didn't get to see complete fruition, because well...Jackson doesn't sit idly by.
Jackson and Isabelle were high school sweethearts. They got a little sidetracked by her father and Jackson left Honey Grove trying to stay away and not hurt her. Except they both ended up hurt. In this book of the Braxton Brothers, the whole family is home for a wedding. Jackson finally makes it home. And at every turn he feels the ache and pain his leaving caused. Yet he doesn't see how coming back will help anything, it will just cause more pain.
There were a lot of emotions that the characters had to work through in this one. But I enjoyed reading about them working through them. Trying to see how different choices could have made things better and how to fix what has happened. Trying to be vague without giving anything away.
Jackson is the same old Jackson. Good and considerate, kind and loving. He can't walk away when he knows Isabelle is hurting or struggling. But he knows she's engaged. So he does what he can while still respecting her engagement.
That's all I'm going to say, except to say again that there are lots of emotions. Sweet romance and sadness and healing. These Braxtons are a family to be reckoned with when it comes to protecting, helping and loving!
I'm really looking forward to Jenna's story now! There were a few little hints to it throughout the book and the epilogue was hers. I can't wait!
Content: Clean. No sex or swearing.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
I love a good second chance romance and this one did not disappoint! Jackson stepping up to help Isabel with her father despite their past was so incredibly sweet. I really enjoyed this book!
Isabel is going to marry Bobby in two weeksIsabel is going to marry Bobby in two weeks. He’s away on the other side of the world while Isabel is trying to plan their wedding, alone. She needs to work and make enough money to bring her father, who has Alzheimer’s and a broken hip, home from the nursing facility.
-‘Bobby had spun into Honey Grove in a tornado of smooth talk and adventure. For a moment, he’d helped her forget the stress that clouded her life. He made her feel…fun. But just as chaotically as he’d entered, he left. He was never one for settling down, and perhaps for a while she’d allowed herself to believe that he might. But when he left messages like that, she knew he’d never want to stay. And staying was all she could do.’-
Jackson comes home for his brother’s wedding. He can’t stop thinking about Isabel, the one true love of his life. But her father always hated Jackson and wouldn’t give his blessing for Jackson to marry Isabel, and now she’s marrying Bobby-what’s-his-face. Jackson still loves Isabel and he does his best to help her out. But can they ever rekindle what they once had? Or is there too much water under the bridge?
-‘She was Bobby What’s-his-name’s problem. Not his. And yet, here he was, allowing her back into his life. He swallowed hard and straightened. Man, he was a glutton for punishment.’-
Some people just can’t see the forest thru the trees. She is so focused on choosing who her father had liked that she ignores how different she is from her fiancé and that it would never work. Her Ex is sweet. I like how they revisit all their old stomps. I would have liked to see what happens next for them. But I’m guessing I’ll have to find out in the next book. Good book in the series.
A romance of second chances with his high school sweetheart eight years after they broke up. This book is full of angst, guilt, uncertainty, a fiance, family and love. It is sweet and refreshing as Isabel Andrews and Jackson Braxton try to deny their feelings for each other. It is interesting too how every time you have hope for them another door seems to close. I was pulled into the story because I felt sorry for the young Jackson who was told by Isabel's father that he was not good enough to marry his daughter. He has carried around that hurt since he was 18 and never did tell Isabel why he left or what her father had said to him. I also really liked Jackson's family. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This is a fun quick read. I liked this clean sweet story. But I have to say Isabel wasn’t my favorite character. She seemed to make some important life decisions out of desperation and fear versus doing things for the right reasons. She was marrying a man so that she could be given away by her father before he passed away and because she knew her dad approved of him. So when Jackson comes back into her life she is confused and she doesn’t know what to do. Granted Jackson did run away after high school and broke her heart. That would be hard to forget. Otherwise this was a great read. I’m looking forward to the ne r book in the series.
I enjoy a good second chance romance and I love the Braxton family, so it was fun to get two for one with this one. The chemistry and love between Jackson and Isabel is still strong after 8 years, but a misunderstanding and pride stand in their way. This was a sweet story and I loved reading about the Braxton's again. I could relate to Isabel in some ways and am so glad she finally got some support.
Meh. Jackson had me constantly asking "why are you doing this?" or "why didn't you do/say that?" There were just a lot of confusing and unnecessary moments. I'm growing tired of this series, all the J names, the "making her way" and "padding to" lines in all of Anne-Marie Meyer books. this one also has an abundance of "moved on" quotes. I appreciate the sweet & clean, but we can have that with a little more substance to the story and different phrases to describe people exiting a room or closing a car door.
Jackson & Isabel were high school sweethearts. He left without a word and hadn't been back. He was headed back for his brother and future sister-in -law's wedding. He felt so confused about coming home. Wondering how he'd handle seeing Isabel if he ran into her. Guess he's going to find out sooner than later. The writing has improved but still some little things could use some tweaks. Hopefully by book 5 it will be there. G rated
8 years is what I consider the Persuasion time limit. Capt Wentworth was swoon and spent 8 years in the army to better himself so he could come back and rub it in Anne's face.
You know what he didn't do??? He didn't spend it sleeping with any woman who would open her legs.
If you want me to believe there was a good reason for the separation, make him loyal, at least. Jeez. This guy ain't swoon worthy.
Just finished Forgiveness on Honey Grove. Another great book in the series. Jackson and Isabel were awesome. I have to admit at one part I wanted to shake Jackson and tell him to fight for what he wants and don't blow it again. I decided to see if he could figure it out himself. NOT!! I have to give his mom and Isabel credit. This was another great book in the series.
Forgiveness Found in Honey Grove is a heartfelt story that blends family struggles with hope and healing. The small town setting feels warm and real and the author paints Honey Grove as a place where community and faith bring people together. The characters are easy to care about and their journey toward forgiveness feels honest and uplifting. The pacing is steady and the romance adds a gentle touch without taking away from the deeper themes. At times the story is a little predictable but the emotional payoff makes it worth the read. This is a touching book that leaves you with a sense of peace and a reminder that grace is always possible. I’ll be reading more of her books
I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Meyer ❤️ this one was no different. The character growth is great and the love put into written format gives a warm and fuzzy feeling
I absolutely loved this book!!! Jackson really stepped up to support Isabella with her father, despite the fact that her dad is the very reason they didn’t tie the knot eight years ago! And can we talk about Mrs. Braxton? She is the ultimate mom figure we all wish we had!
Jackson is going home for his brother’s wedding. Unfortunately, this means that he will most likely have to face Isabel, the one who holds his heart. However, her father told Jackson years ago that he would never give his blessing for Jackson and Isabel to get married. Jackson has since been trying to prove his worth to the world. Isabel’s life is a mess. Her father is all that she has left in her life, barely. Her mother died when she was in high school. Her first love abandoned her after high school. Her fiancé, is more a part of her life in wishes than reality, because he would rather travel than be around her. Even her dad is slipping away as Alzheimer’s steals his mind. If actions speak louder than words, Jackson is screaming his feelings for Isabel by helping her. However, words fail when there is so much water under the bridge. If many hands make light work, it may take a lot of help to fix the problems in each of their lives.
A sweet clean standalone romance. This enjoyable second chance romance is full of lots of emotions and obstacles as two people have to overcome their past. Their is sadness, healing, love, fear, and chemistry. The characters are interesting and include other Braxton brothers series characters as it is told in dual POV from isabel and Jackson's view. The narrator does an amazing job of reading with emotion making you feel all the emotion the author portrayed really pulling you even more into this fantastic clean story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a good story. There were some poignant moments when I teared up and over all I did enjoy this but the main problem that I have with it is the reason Jackson left. After Isabel's father refused to give his permission for them to marry, he just runs off? He doesn't talk with Isabel? Then he is hurt and has mixed feeling about returning home for his brother's wedding because he may run into Isabel? I mean really, he was the one who abandoned Isabel not the other way around. It just made him seem weak in my eyes. Also there was a lot of staring at the floor through out the book.
The rest of the story though was good. I enjoyed reading Isabel's side and what she has been struggling through for the last eight years. She is engaged to Bobby and wants to move her dad back home. Bobby on the other hand wants to travel the world. Will they marry to please her father and have grand-babies before Alzheimer completely takes him away from Isabel?
There was another issue that really wasn't answered either. Jackson lives in New York and has a successful career. Isabel wants to stay in Honey Grove. I hope to get some answers in the next book.
I did enjoy seeing prior characters making appearance here especially Sondra Braxton, the boys' mother. The story was also written in my favorite dual POV. While I didn't really connect with Jackson, like I did with the prior stories, doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the story. The internal struggle that these two faced and overcame was a good one.
This was a sweet, clean second chance romance. I would recommend this to anyone. Just because I was left with some issues doesn't mean that other younger readers would enjoy it.
This romance has a strong storyline, one where communication is the key and the lack there of tore two sweethearts apart for 8 years. Will they get to fix their past and move on or is too late for these two, who only feel complete when together but don’t know how to say it.
A good story although I felt it was dragged out a little more than it needed to be.
Very well narrated, and a pleasure to listen to.
I received this as a complimentary copy and I am giving my honest review voluntarily
Wonderful . I really enjoyed reading this story . It's a heartwarming romance . Jackson Braxton arrives home for his brothers wedding dreading running into the only woman he ever loved Isabel Andrews . He left Honey Grove after her father told him he wasn't good enough to marry Isabel . Some years later Jackson has made something of himself . He finds Isabel ingaged but struggling with her life and her feelings . Soon she has decisions to make . This story is well written and beautiful . I recommend reading this story and enjoying .
Jackson is the youngest of the Braxton brothers and this is his story. He left Honey Grove, but is finally returning for Jonathan and Tiffany’s wedding. He doesn’t expect to see his ex high school sweetheart, the first day he’s back, but there she is at Braxton Dresses, picking up her wedding dress. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I enjoyed this second chance romance. I’m looking forward to reading Jenna’s story next.
This book was so enjoyable to read. Isobel is engaged but her first love has showed up in town for a family wedding. The feelings are still there for Isobel and she's trying hard to ignore them. Jackson left town to make something of himself after Isobel's father said he wasn't good enough for Isobel. He still loves Isobel, but isn't sure if she felt the same way as her father. A lot of emotion in this book, and I love the way the Braxton family jumps in to help Isobel.
Her Ex is an emotional, angst filled, clean, small town, second chance romance. Every time I thought Isabel might dump Bobby and get back together with Jackson, some other obstacle would rear its head. This book works well as a stand alone, but I have read the other three. Jackson is the last of the four brothers. Thank goodness they have a sister so there will be at least one more book! If you like small town, second chance, clean romances, you will not want to miss this book!
Jackson is back in town but his ex is engaged. If only he had told her why he was leaving/left, things would have been so different - or would they? Isabel had a great attitude and comment about this very thing. I don't like angst for angst sake and I think this author does a great job of resolving the angst. Love this couple. His mom is a hoot. Great ending.
A great series. Jackson is home for his brother's wedding. Isabel is engaged to Bobby who wants to travel. All Isabel wants to do is stay home and take care of her father. She doesn't know why Jackson left her years ago. Jackson still loves Isabel but doesn't know how to get rid of Bobby what's his name.
