Sometimes a girl wants a man with a firm hand.

Fay-Lee

I'm a hundred miles from home, and my ride is gone. I'm broke. My phone's missing. And a wild-haired biker busts me sneaking a shower in the SBMC clubhouse.

My punishment for trespassing is to be his house mouse. Cook. Clean. Take care of his needs.

But he wants to punish me a different way. Do things I've never done before. Take care of my needs.

And I want it, too. I want him. If only for this moment before life inevitably comes crashing down on me again.

Dizzy
She drives me to try things I've never tried before. And she loves every moment. She's perfect. And she's in deeper trouble than she knows. She stumbled into dangerous business, and my club sees her as a threat.

Be that as it may, no one is gonna touch her. As soon as I saw her, dripping wet in that towel, I knew two things. Fay-Lee is my woman. And she's gonna turn my world upside down.

She can run, but I'll catch her. I'm faster and stronger. And she belongs to me.

Dizzy is a steamy, age-gap romance. It's a full-length prequel to the Steel Bones Motorcycle Club series, but it can be read as a standalone. Intended only for adult readers.

No cheating. HEA guaranteed.

In this we meet Dizzy and Fay-Lee. And you know what I love most about this series? It's a little Hicksville, very working class, no pretentiousness and a lot of alpha loving. Well in their instance, a whole lot of spanking...

This isn't a fairy tale. In real life, Cinderella is underemployed, and the Prince isn't gonna want to support her indefinitely when he's got bills of his own.

Dizzy is a little down on his luck. Hard-working, a single dad, an all round beast of a man. He focuses on his kids and puts up with a shitty ex wife without complaint. And then a much younger Fay-Lee stumbles into his life and something clicks. Attraction and Possession. It's a heady combination.

Dizzy is nice. Maybe that's not the word for it. Nice guys don't spank your bare ass and kidnap you whatnot.

Being stranded at a biker club is not ideal. When her ride ditches her, Fay-Lee finds herself penniless and squatting until she's caught. The situation takes a turn when she finds herself in the position of a house mouse (essentially a maid) for Dizzy and his kids. I guess it's better than dead!

For all you feminists out there, don't get your hackles up because our Fay-Lee sucks at being a maid. In fact in my opinion she's useless and lazy. Yet her and Dizzy mesh well regardless of the massive age gap. When you're on the same wavelength it's seamless, plus their bedroom dynamic is thigh rubbing good.

She ain't experienced, though. For all her sass, when I went for her asshole, she got real flustered.

When she came, the look on her face? Like a revelation? Yeah, she don't know what she's doing. It's crazy, but I love it.

It would probably be a good idea to read the books of Steel Bones MC in order but not necessary. Since this series is more romance based than club politics, it hasn't been an issue. I swear these stories are like warm fuzzy socks. They are the perfect companion to curl up with. Charming and steamy. Who would have thought?

This book was so darn cute. I don’t know why I waited so long to read it. Wells’ writing is so entertaining and comforting. I’ve always liked Fay-Lee’s character and it was fun to learn more about Dizzy.

I liked the age gap and this one was steamy! There wasn’t much angst in this one, but it’s a great story.

“Dizzy” by Cate C. Wells

3.5⭐️/5⭐️
3🌶/5🌶

-This review will be short and brief. “Dizzy” is a prequel in the “Steel Bones Motorcycle Club” series, and centers around Fay-Lee and Dizzy. Fay-Lee is hitchhiking to New York City, but along the way is dumped at the Steel Bones clubhouse. With no money, no cell phone, and totally alone, she resorts to stealing food from the club. Dizzy, a single dad who is coasting through life, catches her at the club. There’s some drama between the Steel Bones club and a rival motorcycle club, and Fay-Lee ends up in the middle. It’s up to Dizzy to clear her name.

-There’s really not a lot to say about the Steel Bones books, this is the third book I’ve read in the series and they’re all very straightforward. I originally was going to rate this book four stars, but the third act conflict made me roll my eyes. The drama was so transparent, and really took me out of the story. I still don’t understand why they suspected Fay-Lee of being a mole, it was so obvious that she knew nothing about the blueprints and was only with Chaos for a brief time.

-I did enjoy Dizzy and Fay-Lee’s relationship! Dizzy is such a sweet person, and I love how he took care of Fay-Lee and provided her with the life she never got to experience back home. They have great chemistry together. Sometimes they were a little awkward, but it was cute.

-These motorcycle club books are fast and easy reads, but afterwards I usually feel a little disappointed. There’s just something missing from the plot, usually it’s the big conflict, I don’t find it believable. I’m sure over time I’ll end up reading all the books in the series, because despite my dislike of the third act conflicts, I enjoy the characters and their antics.

Blurb spells out exactly what this is about so I'll shorten my review

I'm honestly not a fan of huge age gaps esp when the h is only 18 years old but life toughens you up and makes you old before your time. Faye Lee more than deserved Dizzy and their relationship worked tremendously well. I loved this book, the pace, the writing style, the story line, the mcs, the secondary characters....the sexy times all worked really well together making this one of my faves so far

No cheating
H is divorced with 2 kids and has had hookups over the years but he wasn't a manwhore
h wasn't a virgin but still not much experience she had a traumatic experience and left her shitty home life behind
Some violence

Cate C. Wells you can never disappoint me!

I really enjoyed this novella. I think I’ll really like this series as well. Fay-Lee and Dizzy’s relationship is so unconventional, but at the same time it is so real and so vulnerable.

I became very introspective about why when a man does something wrong or egregious to a woman, oftentimes people — and I’ve been guilty of this as well — are quick to judge her and say “you should’ve known” or “anyone could see that from a mile a way” and really expect her to pretty much be on guard all the time in a relationship she feels is going well. I mean, think of how exhausting and tiresome it must feel always be waiting for the other shoe to drop. I feel like that means you’re like a giant ball of fear, which is understandable given the horror stories. But if the so-called shoe does drop, the last thing you want to listen to is people saying “I told you so”.

I really wasn’t expecting this to be that deep, but it has definitely has given me something to ponder over. Very well done, indeed!

I have to say that the author has done it again and written a fab story that really consumed me until I hit the last page. I so love when that happens! This story has so many things going on, but trauma, secrets, family, action and intense love swirl through all the pages and really make for a gripping read. Dizzy was awesome and so into Fay-Lee it about melted my heart. She was such a genuine person, with some heartbreaking quirks, that you just can't help but love her. Together, they take a winding path but the love is there and it's strong. Grab this prequel and dive into the the Steel Bones MC world and see how things unfold in this exciting read.

I liked seeing how Dizzy and Fay-Lee got together as I've read the rest of the series and they are a hoot, especially Fay-Lee. I felt bad for her at the start, then later when she shared with Dizzy why she left home and towards the end when things spiraled out of control. I liked that Dizzy believed in Fay-Lee the whole time and was ready to throw down with his brothers. I liked how this one ended, nice to see them happy.

Loving Dizzy

Dizzy is a member of the Steel Bones MC with two rambunctious boys, a self-centered ex-wife who finds a skinny woman in his room at the clubhouse.

Fay Lee is a young woman who left home after being locked in a sweltering metal shed and no one even noticing she was missing until she nearly died. Her biggest mistake was hitching a ride with a biker who left her at the Steel Bones clubhouse with nothing to her name but the clothes on her back.

While trying to stay under their radar until she could grab a few bucks, maybe a couple pieces of clothing and a little food Dizzy found her in his room coming out of his shower.

Now the clubhouse was onto her and they are trying to figure out if she is actually part of a plan to take the Steel Bones down. It was Dizzy who stepped up to keep her as his house mouse until things were figured out.

This book had plenty of chemistry and steam along with dangerous dealings between two clubs. Would Dizzy be able to earn Fay Lee's trust and flush out the real rat before his own club wanted to take her out? I can't wait for the next book in this series!

For being a prequel, this is truly my favorite of the series. I loved watching Fay-Lee and Dizzy fall in love, and I reread it often. Not just her and Dizzy's relationship, but I also enjoy the relationship she develops with his kids, and how protective they become of her in turn. Overall, this one is pretty low angst and I love it so much.

"Dizzy" follows on from the excellent "Twitch", first in the Steel Bones MC series. It, unfortunately, is not as good.
Fay-Lee Parsons, 18, has had enough of being a skivvy to her extended family and takes to the road - her planned destination, not for any particular reason, is New York.
It all goes to hell when she takes a lift from Chaos, a member of the Steel Bones MC. He's caught spying on the club and their justice is final. But, until they're sure, Fay-Lee ain't going anywhere.
She's become 'house-mouse' to Dizzy, a man who has spanking in mind: "Some men like tits. I like a red ass."
And that's where I had a problem. If you are that into it at least you could spell it correctly:- "And they want me to go home with Dizzy. The guy who ten minutes ago was wailing on my ass."
Followed by:- "I wailed on her good last night. No reason except she asked."
Whaled!
Don't use a computer Spellchecker because it will always let you down.
It's a bit of a mess and I could not be bothered to finish it.
2 Stars.

A so-so book. It Dizzy and Fay-Lee's book. A bit of a older man younger woman type. I still can't make sense of the club members. All I know so far is Heavy is the president. Don't know Dizzy's position or how he got his name. Bet that would have been a good part of the book. Or what did they do to the bad guys? Know they got rid of them but who, how, where, etc. See what's missing? We get every detail of him spanking her but nothing important. Just feel like it was way longer than it should have been with as little as we learn.

This book was also a novela to get the series started so hopefully the next book will be better with more club action and details.

This was a beautiful MC novella. It has a lot of heart and funny moments.

I loved Dizzy and Fay-Lee. Fay-Lee has had a tough life but she's kept her spark and is so sassy and sweet. I love Dizzy and all his patience with Fay-Lee. He is so taken with her and will do anything to make sure she is safe.

There's a lot of steam but there's also a lot of emotional connection which I appreciated. I loved the aspect that the spanking in this book wasn't just sexual. It gave Fay-Lee a calm in her body and a feeling of security. Dizzy needed it to be able to make her feel safe and cared for.

The couple: Dizzy and Fay-Lee

Romance trope: MC; a little kinky
Series: Steel Bones MC
Length: 277 pages

Plot: Fay-Lee was just supposed to be passing through, but Chaos, her ride, ditched her. She's been squatting at and around the Steel Bones clubhouse, but when they catch her, her option is to go home with Dizzy and take care of his house. She reluctantly agrees, but it seems there is something between them. But Fay-Lee doesn't trust easy, and neither does Steel Bones. Dizzy isn't ready to give up on her though.

Commentary: I actually thought their journey into bdsm-lite was well written. They both had misgivings about what they were doing - was it wrong? Were they weird? And Dizzy made sure that he researched it and checked with Fay-Lee. Things just fell into place with them. They gave each other what the other person needed. I loved how Fay-Lee became so important to the kids without being the overeager stepmother figure. And honestly, she was a good friend right away to several of the women who needed that, something that other people in the club family didn't recognize or couldn't offer. She was meant to be there.

Previous book in the series: Twitch
Next book in the series: Charge

Favorite lines:

I take a chair, and Heavy ducks through the door. He's got his laptop. I still can't get over the fact he went to college. I wonder how many times he got security called on him. Once, at night, he was in the yard, and I mistook him for a bear.

I looooved this. But continuity issues confused the shit outta me since I binged a few in a row.

In Dizzy, his ex’s name is Sharon and she got custody, but Dizzy is weekend dad who is slowly getting more time with his kids cuz Sharon keeps asking him to take them.

In Scrap, she was Diane Jones, who left the family high and dry???

Am I missing something?

cate c wells is just so consistently good. i love how, despite being scared of commitment, fay-lee didn’t let it actually interfere with her relationship at all and the issues they had were more centered in outside factors playing into her fear of abandonment after a rocky family life.

This series is like my guiltiest pleasure. It shouldn’t work for me but it just does. It’s gritty and no one is living in mansions. They’re just…regular people in tough situations falling in love and banging it out. I love it.
