Jeremy and Kevin’s house is almost perfect. Along with more room to spread out, it comes with new ways to drive Bryan crazy and playrooms for a little and a middle. But change also comes with new trials for in the brothers.
As Kevin sees their world evolving, he loves knowing that they’ve taken their first steps toward a true grown-up future together, but that brings up more questions. Will it change their relationship? What will the future look like? When everyone around him has found their passion in life and is sprinting full-steam ahead toward their goals, will he ever figure out what he’s supposed to be doing?
Author’s Note This is not a standalone story; books must be read in order.
Another brilliant book in this fantastic series. The character development is simply stunning and the author builds a brilliant world the reader can immerse themselves in.
I was so happy to have more of Kevin and Jeremy as well as Bryan and Maddox.
They are all so much fun together, such great friends/family.
The friendship between Bryan and Kevin is the kind we all hope to have with somebody. The fun, sass and care these guys show each other is telling in their love and respect for each other.
"I'm gonna end up going to jail for killing you." Bryan sighed again. "I don't look good in orange, and I can't bring my toys to jail." "Then figure out how to hide my body better, genius. "
"You're insane." He kept saying that, but we needed to work on his vocabulary because he kept mixing up the words "fabulous" and "interesting" with things like "crazy."
This is another great addition about the continuing relationship of Kevin and Jeremy. I love how they are maturing and are thriving in their new house and the living arrangements are working out perfectly.
As always, I hope we will get of them down the road.
*Happy sigh* Yes, Kevin seems to be growing up. Just, fortunately for all of us, not too much. I love how settled he and Jeremy are together, and how intertwined their lives are with Bryan and Maddox. I knew Bryan's Mom was the best, but it's even more obvious in this story. I've always loved how Kevin can rationalize almost anything, but it was fantastic seeing that paired with his bargain hunting skills. This was exactly what I needed to read today!
I love everything about this series. The way all four characters have created their own family in their new home is helping them settle into their relationships. Bryan’s mum is a hoot. I love how accepting she is and her visit is special for all of them. Jeremy and Kevin’s dad is a bit harder to take to, even though he seems to be trying to make up for lost time. Really looking forward to reading more about them and their friends.
Jeremy and Kevin are happy in the house with Bryan and Maddox. Their found family and friends are everything they never thought they'd find. Jeremy's business is going great and Kev thinks about opening a coffee shop. I wasn't thrilled with their father's story line but I guess it emphasizes the strength and importance of a family you choose over one you are born into.
*whimper* I don't want to be caught up. The author has other books that look interesting, but this is the most recent of the kinky college books. I am addicted.
****
So. Fucking. Good.
I’m positive I’m going to have a book hangover after marathoning all these linked kinky college books.
The boys got the house and they are slowly furnishing it. Bryan and Kevin go yard saling and buy enough they can barely fit in the car.
Kevin has a project for one of his business classes and he’s working up a proposal for a cafe. He’s gettin into it big time, to the point where Jeremy and Maddox think he could make a go at it for real. Of course Kevin needs Jeremy to spell it out for him.
Bryan and Maddox notice how uncomfortable Kevin is with their father trying to find a place in their lives. Maddox explains to Jeremy how differently they look at their father. Jeremy sees the abused submissive partner while Kevin just sees the parent that was never there for them, the man that has the power to destroy the new lives they’ve created.
Kevin gives Bryan’s mother Michele a virtual tour of the house. She overhears Jeremy and Maddox talking about Kevin & Jeremy’s plans for lunch with their father. She is concerned to the point she visits just to be there for Kevin. But first, she buys the guys a housewarming present, furniture for their basement — stuff that Kevin picked out — including a sofa bed she can use when she visits.
They end up bringing Maddox, Bryan, and Michelle to lunch with their father. He brings a new girlfriend who clearly knows their secret. Jeremy isn’t having it. He goes all Dom on his father and takes Michele and the guys out for pancakes.
On the sexy fun time front, Kevin goes go bed in his older little mindset wearing kiddy pjs, only to wake up tied up on his tummy, naked. Jeremy brings out the flogger, which is clearly as much fun as a spanking, to both of them.
Really enjoyed this and getting to see more of Kevin and Jeremy and also Maddox and Bryan! I loved all of the open communication this had, especially between Kevin and Jeremy. They have come such a long way since book one, and I’ve loved getting to see these glimpses and time jumps in their lives and how they and their relationship have grown and evolved. They are so sweet and great together, and I love their relationship. And their friendship with Maddox and Bryan makes me smile🥰. They are all so supportive and accepting of one another, and I love their group dynamic. I also liked that we got a Michelle cameo! Her being the mother figure Kevin and Jeremy never got makes my heart so happy😭. Everyone deserves a parent like her. And I loved how Jeremy confronted and handled things with their dad🙌🏻. Their dad was horrible in book one but has popped up in the last few books, so I was curious how things were going to play out with him. I’m so glad Jeremy finally put him in his place, cleared the air, and set boundaries😁. It was so well done and made me so happy! And as always, Jeremy’s protectiveness and how he cares for Kevin is everything😍. Love them together, and I really hope they get more books.❤️
This was a terrific addition to Kevin and Jeremy's story. I love spending time with these two, as well as Bryan and Maddox. The four young men are such a great family. This book let us see more of the guys getting their new house set up, which was fun, and it gave us an idea of what Kevin will likely be doing in the future, career wise. There were funny moments, especially between Kevin and Bryan. I was reminded that so much of Bryan's progress coming out of his shell is due to his friendship with Kevin, who is pushy but funny and loving. (I can't help but laugh at Kevin's determination to change the diaper of one of the littles someday.) There was a bit of angst, with the uncomfortable father who never protected Kevin and Jeremy from their psycho mother. And there was the heat and love I always know I can count on with these two. I love these characters, and it's always a pleasure to watch them grow more and more confident in their place in the world. Their love might not be conventional, but it is right for them and makes them happy. And that makes me happy, too.
I don’t know what happened to the review I wrote on this. I snagged this as soon as it came live and read it immediately. But that’s what I do with all of this author’s work lol. I’ll even pause in the middle of another one to. She’s my ultimate favorite author and her characters are like family to me. These two guys and Bryan and Maddox are truly beautiful. I highly recommend reading all of their books in order to get the full connection. Plus By experiencing them from the beginning you can fully grasp how far they have come along.
I love this series but for some reason I couldn’t get into this one. The first 50 pages was just about buying stuff and a lot of specific details about Kevin’s business plan. I almost gave up. The second half got better but was still vague and short, especially the scene with their father. I think this story need more story so on to the next book!
I love that we get more of the growth between Jeremy and Kevin but also with Maddox and Bryan. I absolutely love their little family and Michelle, Bryan's mom, is just amazing! It was so great to see Kevin while he is planning his coffee shop for his project but also seeing it could be his future job. I can't wait to see what comes next for our boys.
Love Jeremy and Kevin. This was great finishing off the story where they all move in together after collage . Love that Jeremy and Maddox let Kevin and Bryan go out to buy things for the house but are only allowed to spend a certain amount . They had fun ! Or Kevin did .
All of these men together are building a home and life together. I like how they can be there all together and yet maintain their own relationships. I love the way they face difficulties together. I'm so glad they are moving forward with their hopes and dreams.
Every once in awhile I will check back in on this series to see that there's a new volume. I love a good found-family trope. Too Close to Doubt made me love and see Bryan and Maddox in a new light.
Too Close to Doubt is the sixth book in the Loving series by M.A. Innes. I've read this book a couple of years ago for the first time and it's a favorite of mine. I love Kevin and Jeremy!! This book was another amazing addition to their story. Their story is sweet, sexy, full of feels and so very well written. (I honestly hope this series never ends!)
