He gave me freedom through restraint.

He captivated me the first time I saw him. I was drawn to him, curious about the mysterious, soft spoken older man. I convinced myself there was no way someone so worldly would be interested in a shy, inexperienced guy like me. I’m careful what I reveal, choosing instead to live with what if.

But with each interaction, I felt things I never had before. Patiently, he gave me the space to peel back my armor, allowing him to twist me apart in ways I never imagined. Now I crave the security of his ropes.

He opened up the way I see the world and myself in it. Can he open my heart too…

Twist Me is a steamy age gap tale exploring love and self through Shibari. It is book six in the Tattoos and Temptation series featuring hot Miami nights, Latin desserts, and guys with ink.

It can be read as a standalone but the author recommends reading the series in order or at least book three, Free Me, for maximum enjoyment.

Another great addition to the Tattoos and Temptations series. I was waiting for Mitsu’s story ever since he first showed up: he was this enigmatic character, and I knew he had a lovely story to tell. And it was worth the wait! I loved the way Mia wrote him and Grey: how she balanced their stories, their past and everything they were dealing with. It felt natural right from the beginning, and evolved to a beautiful story about how love heals. Even though they have some issues to deal with, the book is very low on the angst aspect, so even when they are facing their problems and working on them, it feels somehow… light. Not to mention all those sexy and hot shibari scenes: those were to die for!

Mia is brilliant at getting you to buy into a story very quickly. You are hooked from page one. These characters had been introduced in previous books and I was was so happy to get their backstories.
It is in dual POV ,which I love... getting into both characters head.

Grey and Mitsu have been in each other’s orbits for awhile. The attraction is there. Grey has trouble with trust. Mitsu shows him that trusting someone can lead to beautiful things. This book was SO swoon-worthy AND mushy in the best of ways.
If you love, love like I do, this is definitely the book for you. Loved every word. I’m glad these two made their way to each other. Their positive energy and love for one another was life affirming. Their HEA was perfectly them.
Highly recommend this book! And series!

OMG YOU GUYS IT'S HERE!!!! IT IS FINALLY HERE!!!

Phew! OK, now that my squealing is under control, you need to understand how overjoyed I am to be able to tell you that the sixth book in Mia Monroe's Tattoos and Temptation series -- which happens to be Mitsu and Grey's book (!!!!!) - is finally here! Twist Me is what appears to be the final book in the series. I hope that maybe we could nudge a few novella length stories about these guys somewhere down the road, but if this is the last time we'll be surrounded by these men I shall die happy! This story was everything I needed for Mitsu and Grey, and nothing like I expected I was going to get for their story!

“I’m not like most guys my age.”

Understatement.

“I’m not interested in age anyway. I’m interested in energy. Who you are at your core.”

These two are soooo sweet, right from the beginning. Mitsu was definitely the attractive enigma in other books of the series, but so was Grey. Grey was this beautiful enigma - and his energy pulled Mitsu to him, which is just how every great love story is supposed to go. And in the spirit of International Transgender Day of Visibility, which I know has passed, Grey should be seen as it's a large part of his existence and identity. Remember people, show the world that you are a safe space for someone to come out because...

It’s not easy realizing you were born in a body that isn’t right. It isn’t easy telling your parents their daughter is a son, or your friends, or cringing every time your grandmother misgenders you or your cousin uses your dead name. None of that is easy, but I never had to deal with my family disowning me or not getting the healthcare I needed or being forced to live unauthentically.

It was heartwarming to see a positive story in the midst of so much pain and ugliness in the world towards Asian people and towards people of the trans community. I loved seeing a story where Grey had a loving and respectful family, there are too many stories out there of kids being turned away or hurt because they choose to live their truth. As always, this topic is handled with the utmost care and sensitivity that I've come to expect from any of Mia's books. And while it's fiction and we're seeing a happy outcome, the fact that those unhappy outcomes exist out there aren't swept under the rug - they just aren't the focus of Grey's love story. I think that's one of the biggest things I love about Grey's story, he's been so afraid to be that vulnerable by sharing his truth with another person and that he can do that with Mitsu because he is safe is so beautiful. That he finds his freedom in Mitsu's ropes is exactly what I was hoping for, and let's face it - they're FIRE!

As always, you'll see cameos by the couples you've come to love over the series but it can be read completely as a standalone, and if you haven't read them, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? Go and grab Marry Me right now and fall in love with this little family that formed between the bakery staff of Dulce Santo and the tattoo artists of Black Heart. I've loved every moment spent in this world, and I think you will too!

Now, let's leave you with some of my...

Favourite Lines -

“Does it feel powerful for you?” he asks. “Tying people up?”

“I don’t refer to it as tying people up. That sounds so, I don’t know, kidnap-y.”

He offers little about himself, but I would dance with the devil himself to know everything there is about Mitsu.

“First of all, talking about Doctor Who and converting someone to the fandom is like my crack.”

"You’re my safe place. What do you get out of this? What am I for you?”

“You are my heart, Grey. My breath. My desire. My heaven. What I get out of this is you.”

“Tell me what you need. Do you want marriage? A ring to symbolize my commitment to you?”

He shakes his head. “No. I want a dog.”

My eyebrows rise. “A dog?”

“Yeah. I can’t have one in an apartment. I want two cats and a dog.”

"All words can be poetry if you want them to be.” He tugs me slightly closer and kisses the underside of my chin. “For example: fuck as a verb, between you and I, is nothing but poetry.”

I pull back enough to bend and kiss his lips.

“You’re an artist, Mitsu.”

“And you are my muse.”

I find myself leaning into him, inhaling the floral yet masculine scent wafting around him. Being close to him is like slowly, willingly, being sucked into a vortex of want.

Want to touch.

Want to feel.

Want to taste.

Want more.

Absent from my favourite lines is the ENTIRE Drunk Mitsu conversation. That whole scene - absolutely the best thing EVER!!!

Go - RUN and grab this one!

I'm telling you, you won't regret a single moment of falling in love with Mitsu, Grey and the ropes. One click this baby today!

Mechanical f@cking machine🔓✅
Trans man & Shibari master.
Created for you vibes
Filthy Dirty messy hot, at the same time ott too sugary, syrupy, saccharin.
I cringe a little when I read the "I love you more" line.
But a really easy cute story and a fantastic found family.

Maybe I just didn’t read this at a good time for me because I usually love Ms. Monroe’s books but I wasn’t impressed very much with this one. I’ve read a few from this series and I have liked them, however this felt way too sweet for me. I loved Grey’s story and his journey and how Mitsu accepted him, it just felt over done with all the sweet talking...gave me a toothache.

This was a really lovely story of the developing romance between Grey and Mitsu. I love all of the books in this series but this one was really beautifully written. I loved how the two came together to help each other develop and grow, as well as overcome their issues. This was a lovely end to the series.

This book was so absolutely, unashamedly sweet! It was so sweet in fact, that I might need to make a doctor's appointment just to check my blood sugar levels after getting this much sugar into my system :D
It is a good thing this book had some BDSM elements mixed in, because it balanced out the sweetness and made it a nice blend of mush and kink. I was slightly skeptical about it going in, because BDSM is not my preferred genre and sometimes it is added so much it ruins the essence of the story, but it was not the case here. It mixed in just perfectly to balance it all out and not make it too kinky or too cheesy.

I absolutely adored Mitsu! He is the best boyfriend to have and we should all be so lucky. I mean, the poetic way he talks alone is enough to make one swoon. He was sweet, romantic, so patient and understanding, but at the same time, he was always so self-assured and forceful when required. He stepped up when it was needed, but also knew when to step down if it got too much for Grey. Grey was absolutely adorable! He was so shy and hesitant, but during the story we can see how he blossoms and opens up. He was like a coil of rope that just needed the right tug to open up, and that tug was definitely Mitsu. They are perfect for each other and it was delightful to watch them overcome their hesitations and fears, until the came to the same conclusion - they balance each other out perfectly. I loved how real it was. They didn't jump into it, they learned, they explored, they got to know one another first before jumping into the kinkier parts of their relationship and somehow it made their connection seem all the more deeper and lasting. Sure, it did seem a bit slow in some parts and the third part of the book is definitely more action-packed, but the unhurried and careful development of their relationship was exactly what these two amazing guys needed and you can't help but be drawn into their story.
But you know what I liked the most? They talked! It was so refreshing! There was no hesitation, no questioning everyone around them except each other, no forced drama that could have been easily resolved if the characters just talked to one another. They had a very open communication, where they talked over their doubts, their limits, their goals, everything that they wanted or didn't want. If one had a question for the other, they didn't run around guessing or asking others to tell them what they think the answer might be, they just talked it over like mature, rational people. It. Was. Amazing. It was truly refreshing to see this perfect communication and it might just serve as field guide for how to make relationship work, because they completely avoided unnecessary drama and miscommunication by being open and willing to talk it out. Even when they hesitated, were too shy or unsure about it being the right time, they were still brave enough to bring it up and talk it out. They didn't hide anything, didn't stew in their own doubts questioning themselves, didn't drown in "what if" and "what if not". They didn't expect each other to guess or read minds and then get mad when the other's telepathic skills didn't manifest. They talked, they listened, they asked, they answered. It was all honest, open communication from the beginning until the end.

That is not to say they were all talk and not enough humorous or kinky moments. There were those too, plenty in fact! It is a very well balanced and well-developed story that is definitely worth reading, if only to hear Mitsu when he is drunk - it was hilarious!

Listen/Audio review. I am going to restate what I said in my original review but also just reinforce how well the trans storyline is done here. This is one of my favorite Mia books and I really enjoyed the audio with Kale.

————

The inclusive representation is done really well, and it’s equally informative and pertinent to the story. Grey’s feelings about everything regarding being trans is so refreshing. After watching Grey and Mitsu being hinted at for a few books, it makes sense that most of this book is just one long declaration of love. And it wouldn’t be a Mia book without it. Her books are about love, with a side of high steam. This book was lovely and an awesome addition to a fun series.

I have loved each and every book in the Tattoos and Temptation series for many different reasons. Mia Monroe created a wonderful world focusing on the workers of Cuban bakery Dulce and Black Heart tattoo shop. Twist Me finally took us into the mind of mysterious ethereal Mitsu and explored his relationship with Grey which had been jumping off the screen of my Kindle since we were first introduced to them. IMO the book was very well written between showing us the heat and depth of the relationship but also the growth Grey goes through with Mitsu at his side finding more self confidence and inner peace. Everyone needs a Mitsu in their life! He's wordly, calm, open minded and entirely devoted to Grey. And for all those wondering if the heat lives up to Mia's other books - let me tell you my Kindle almost melted multiple time but you'll know for sure when you get to *that scene*. I am very sad to know that this is the end of this series (for now) but glad that it has come to and end like this. with a beautiful love story like this. Twist Me now ties Marry Me as my favourite of the entire series. Don't miss out!

5 amazing stars!

This book was absolutely beautiful. You will feel so happy at the end of this book.

Grey and Mitsu have always had this connection and when they finally explore it, it’s like the skies open up and this book is like sunshine and happiness and all the rainbows, unicorns and love. This has to be the sweetest book I have ever read. Grey’s transformation through this book was breathtaking and the relationship he has with Mitsu is what we all dream of. Their love shows in everything they do and say. This book is so much more then I thought it would be and a book I will not so I forget. If you can’t tell I highly recommend this book and all the books that came before it.

This series ❤️❤️

I couldn’t wait to read Grey & Mitsu’s story, this series made me fall in love with Mia’s writing and I think this couple’s story was the perfect ending to a brilliant series.

Grey’s character was a delight to read, I’ve not read many Transgender characters but I think Mia wrote very well and has obviously done her research. I love that the focus wasn’t on his anatomy and everything was about energy and feelings 😍

Mitsu the Shibari master ❤️ I love him so hard, the way he talks, thinks and acts is just beautiful ❤️

Lovely story, very little angst, perfect series end 😍

I have really enjoyed reading these fast reading well written romances in the Tattoos and Temptations series by Mia Monroe, because each book has focused on a certain couple from this group of friends and explored the relationship that develps between them, this is  Mitsu and Grays story. Until Gray met Mitsu he never found just that right person for him, but the more time they spent together he knew there was something growing between them that made him want to let go and try to develop a long lasting relationsip. It was so very difficult for him becuse he is so terribly shy and has had some personal issues to work through but with Mitsu he wants to explore everything with him and see if they could build something that could possibly last a lifetime.

Twist Me is the culminating book in Mia Monroe’s fabulous Tattoos & Temptation series (*sniffle sniffle*). In the words of Juliet, “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” Falling in love with this series is a gift. I’m sad that this is the last time we’ll be fully immersed in this unique world of spicy, sexy, sweet men living the dream in their juxtaposed bakery and tattoo shops amidst the colorful sights and sounds of Miami. I’ll definitely be going back to visit Ms. Monroe’s vibrantly created T&T world through what I expect will be many rereads.

These special men of T&T have all gotten their HEAs and we get to see peeks of the prior couples/throuple in this final book. Unless Mia has a surprise up her sleeve #moreT&Tplease, this is the end, and that invokes in me a sadness reflective of my deep love for this diverse world and cast of characters that Ms. Monroe has so vividly brought to life.

Twist Me is a fitting conclusion to the series. The best way I can describe it is beautiful and joyful. The book delivers a well-deserved HEA for Grey, one of the tattoo artists at Jude’s Black Heart Tattoo shop, and Mitsu, the Shibari instructor and mentor to Nix, who we first meet in Book 3, Free Me.

Let me pause here for a PSA: The T&T books are interconnected and sequential, but not a continuing storyline. So you absolutely can read them as standalones, although you’ll get more out of them if you read them in order. This holds for Twist Me as well. However, Mitsu and Shibari are first introduced in Free Me, and the exploration of Nix and Tate’s relationship through Shibari provides a solid foundation for the personal and relationship journeys of Mitsu and Grey in Twist Me. Is it essential you read Free Me first? No. But your appreciation of Twist Me will be amplified if you have. Free Me is excellent, so I recommend you at least read that one first, before embarking on Twist Me.

Now back to Twist Me. Consistent with the rest of the series, Twist Me is low/no angst, hot sex, humor and happiness, but it is not a plot-centric book. Rather, it carefully and sensitively explores the struggle to understand yourself and settle into your own skin in a way you know to be true to you. Grey experiences this struggle more acutely than Mitsu, but Mitsu isn’t exempted from it.

Like a key fitting into a lock, Mitsu and Grey come together to unlock parts of the other that have been repressed or forgotten. They each have tools in their arsenal to do this, but participation of a partner who they wholeheartedly and unequivocally trust is crucial. Developing trust can be tricky, particularly when scars yearn to be hidden. Twist Me is page after page of breathtaking actions and dialogue between Mitsu and Grey that consistently build that trust between them until it becomes unshakeable.

Shibari is a crucial piece of this journey. The Shibari ropes provide the restraint and, oxymoronically, the space and freedom needed and called upon by its users. In Free Me, Nix and Tate didn’t need to build trust. They had it already from long ago. But the ropes provided the opportunity for release and the support needed to facilitate acceptance, forgiveness and letting go.
For Mitsu and Grey in Twist Me, the call is different from Nix and Tate. It’s been a long, challenging journey for Grey to feel like his true self. During that process, he bottled up so much of himself through self-preservation. But it’s not so easy to just open it all back up again. Grey calls upon Mitsu to twist him open like a cap on a bottle so he can let himself shine for the world to see, but with the safety net of Mitsu’s love and support. In a way, he’s cleansing himself so he is fully available to accept all Mitsu wants to give him.

I adore how Ms. Monroe employs the twisting imagery throughout the book. Her choice of title is far from arbitrary. In addition to the twisting to open up as I just mentioned, there’s twisting as a show of strength and proof of resiliency. Grey uses Mitsu and his ropes as a means of pushing himself to his limits. When you twist something, you distort it, turn it around, maybe even stretch it and strain it. But it bends, flexes and gives, and, most importantly, does. not. break. It’s resilient, flexible … fluid. Grey desperately wants to be seen and understood that way because it’s his truth. He is strong and resilient. Mitsu sees that and gives that to him.
Twist Me displays a more lyrical side of Ms. Monroe’s writing and it’s perfect for this beautiful story of finding peace and redemption. I highlighted this line because it struck me as a spot on analogy to Ms. Monroe’s writing in this book: “[Y]ou’re this super-chill Shibari master who speaks in poetry, but then, all of a sudden, here comes an unexpected F-bomb. It’s a cool dynamic.” Cool indeed.

As I look back over the T&T series, I can’t help but appreciate how Ms. Monroe has captured a diverse spectrum of lovely men without ever labeling them or calling them out as different. It’s one of the things I appreciate most about her writing. From Marry Me to Twist Me, we’ve met and fallen for:
A gorgeous tattoo shop owner and a baker who is model-lovely but as real as you and me. A Scottish Daddy and his reformed party boy. Two former friends given a second chance at love through Shibari. A triad comprised of a sweet as syrup Southern boy, a saucy twink and his BFF. A sassy, heel, lingerie and makeup-loving French chocolatier who is unapologetically himself, and his older, GFY brother’s best friend. And of course we have Mitsu and Grey … This Miami crew has wormed its way into my heart. I’ll miss learning of new adventures with this found family.

Luckily, Ms. Monroe is a talented, prolific writer. She’s already delivered three fantastic books in 2021, two of which kicked off her new Written in the Stars series. So while she gave me a serious book hangover with Twist Me and the end of T&T, she also provided the book hangover remedy. #moremiamagic #getreading

4.5 stars!

This review and much more can be found at Love Bytes Reviews

Grey is one of the tattoo artist at Black Heart, the tattoo shop in Miami that is one of the central locations of this series. Across the street lies Dulce, the bakery that serves as the other main business featured and where a number of the series characters work. Grey is still fairly new at Black Heart, but he likes his work and his co-workers. They include him in their social gatherings and although he is a bit shy and more reserved than a lot of the other guys, he enjoys their interaction and being part of the group.

During one of these group outings Grey has been introduced to Mitsu (hopefully you have read at least Free Me in preparation for this book), the shibari master that has been instrumental in helping Nix and Tate work through their relationship issues. It’s pretty obvious that there is an attraction there, but Grey has not pursued anything and has just interacted with Mitsu at these group gatherings. His best friend Mac encourages him to contact Mitsu and to agree to go to a Shibari workshop to which he’s been invited. But Grey is worried. He doesn’t like crowds of strangers and is nervous that he’ll be asked to do something he really doesn’t want to do. But he screws up his courage and decides to attend.

What starts out as an invitation to observe turns into so much more in the end. Mitsu is extremely sensitive to Grey’s particular aversion to being touched – particularly by strangers. He’s aware of Grey’s reluctance to trusting new people and new things. But he’s determined to put Grey at ease and not to pressure him into anything. While encouraging, he is totally willing to go at whatever speed Grey is comfortable with. And this is the key to building trust between them.

As they spend more time together, Grey slowly reveals more of himself to Mitsu. He is still shy, but as he begins to feel comfortable with Grey, he shares more of his life, his past and his journey. Mitsu also shares his past as well – in a way that is organic to the story and realistic – no info dumping here. Grey continues to be intrigued by the shibari sessions and wants to share that with Mitsu, but he is scared that me might freak out or hate it. He worries that will be a deal breaker for Mitsu.

Both men are initially also worried about their age gap. But Grey is actually more worried about the experience gap. However, it turns out that in some things, particularly love, they are on equal footing 🙂 It’s absolutely beautiful to watch how Mitsu treats Grey and his gift of himself and his body with complete reverence. Their interactions are absolutely gorgeous. The levels of trust and intimacy that they establish as their relationship builds are the heart and soul of this book.

*sigh* While I have been really looking forward to this book, I’m really sad that this series is over. I have so enjoyed getting to know this wonderful group of diverse characters over the course of this series. Each book has introduced us to a new couple and although we met Mitsu and Grey in previous books, this is really their story and time to shine. I absolutely loved everything about this book – from the beautiful descriptions of shibari, to the secondary characters of Grey’s family, to exploring Grey’s volunteer activities at the LGBTQ+ center, to the deepening friendships of all the couples previously featured in this series. It’s just a perfect wrap up to this particular series and group of characters.

This story kind of reads like an epic poem. In particular, Mitsu’s use of language is just so lovely and romantic. I’m not sure if that’s a nod to his exploration of his Japanese heritage, his experience of other cultures or just who he is, but it really lends such a lyrical quality to this book that is a bit different to the others. I was just swept away by their romance and how each interaction between them solidifies and strengthens the foundation of the mutual attraction and respect and desire. I loved the sensitive way their physical relationship was described and handled – again with respect and trust and love. Honestly one of the absolute best things about Mia Monroe’s writing in this series is the level of respect shown to all the characters with regards to their identity, sexuality, needs, wants, and desires. It’s obvious that she loves these characters and wants them to fully realize their potential and find fulfillment and happiness within these relationships. I really hope that we do get some spin-off stories or something though because I’d love to find out how Andre fares in figuring himself out 🙂 I’d also love to hear more of Mac’s story. *hint, hint* Highly recommended!

4.5/5 - I’ve been waiting for Mitsu and Grey’s story since they were first introduced to us and met each other in book 3 (I think?) and had instant chemistry. The connection between them is also clear from the opening chapters of Twist Me although Grey has obvious trust issues and is wary of initiating more contact with Mitsu - we find out why as the book progresses but I won’t give away spoilers.
Grey is one of the guys from Jude’s Black Heart tattoo shop and Mitsu is Nix’s friend. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing more of the previous couples in the series as the guys were absorbed into the wider group of friends from the tattoo shop and bakery. On the face of it they are total opposites - Grey, blonde haired and blue eyed and 25 and Mitsu with his Japanese heritage and almost 40 - I do love an age gap although it didn’t stand out here as they are both so in sync. Once Grey opens himself up to trusting Mitsu the bond they develop is very intense - Mitsu’s expertise in shibari and Grey eventually being comfortable enough to try it allows Grey to relax and accept all parts of himself and it is beautifully described.
I’d consider this to be low angst as although some serious topics are addressed there are no unnecessary misunderstandings added to the story just to create false conflict. There are some lighter moments too and in particular I loved drunk Mitsu with no filter - some of his comments made me laugh out loud.
If this is the final book in the series it’s a great ending. Like any well written book you end up invested in the side characters and I wouldn’t be disappointed if we get to see more of Andres or Mac in a future series.
The only slight negative for me - this was very nearly a 5/5 rating - was that after a little while I did find Mitsu’s language a bit too much. Their language to each other is ultra romantic - it reminded me a little of Always by Kindle Alexander, and although I like romance this was a lot. It was still a very good book which I enjoyed and a good conclusion to the series.

*4.5*
Twist Me sees readers finally have Mitsu and Grey's story who are a possible couple that has been hinted at for a couple of books now.
I found this to be a fairly low angst romance, at least regarding their relationship. From their first contact you can sense something between them and though they agree to take it slow and steady, feelings and attraction develops quickly for them both. Grey has his reasons for keeping his distance but Mitsu is clear on wanting Grey and allowing him the time and freedom to let things progress at whatever speed he needed. Mitsu's work as a Shibari Master is really interesting and something that Grey is drawn to but also extremely hesitant about for several reasons. Again, Mitsu's calm, reassuring manner allows trust to easily build between them so that, when ready, it's an experience and joy that they can share in together, and damn does it get hot!
Mitsu is a character that reminds me of the phrase "still waters run deep". On the surface, in his daily life and his work with Shibari, he's calm collected and as though nothing phases him but as we get to know him with Grey, there is so much more personality and emotion to him than that. He's sweet, loving and sexy, always showing Grey attention, care and understanding. Grey has always seemed quiet but has purposefully kept it that way for reasons he reveals in this book. Its wonderful that he finally feels safe and loved with Mitsu and his friends and colleagues and Black Heart to show more of himself. It is heartwarming to read him come out of his shell, grow braver in regards to his developing relationship with Mitsu and well as sharing in his love of rope play.
Twist Me is another brilliant addition to the Tattoos and Temptations series, each book offering something different in regards to characters and tropes. I love that we get to interact with other characters from this series and catch up with how they are doing as well as be introduced to some who may appear in the future.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

As with the other books in this series, I really, truly adored this book! Watching Grey and Mitsu come together was heartwarming, and so wonderful.

Mitsu has this calmness about him that I wish I could achieve. (I am way too high-strung to be that calm, cool, and collected.) He is always ensuring that those he cares for are comfortable, content, and looked after. Mitsu is also very passionate, and loving. We especially see that with his interactions with Grey.

This story was a long time coming. We started seeing the buildup of the relationship back in Free Me, with Nix and Tate's story. To say that Mitsu and Grey coming together, and being as compatible as they are, was a surprise would be a lie.

As with the other books in this series, they begin their relationship from a place of mutual attraction, and build on their foundation of friendship and trust through honesty and communication.

I absolutely cannot emphasize enough how much I absolutely adore that. These things are hugely important in any relationship, and the way that Monroe ensures that these are key aspects of the relationships they write about warms my heart so, so much.

I have loved this series so much, I blew right through the books and read them very quickly! And I would re-read them again over and over.

This series is a low-stakes romance about people coming together, respecting each other, communicating with each other, and loving each other. The found family that both the Dolce Santo bakery and Black Heart tattoo shop have found in each other is something that I so desperately adore, I kind of wish I had that in my own life.

Overall, this series came to me at a time when I was falling back into a reading slump, and it brought me right back out of it.

I truly cannot wait to read more from Mia Monroe. I am very, very quickly becoming a huge fan and supporter.

Performance: 5 Stars
Story: 4 Stars

I've been intrigued by Mitsu since he was introduced earlier in this highly interconnected series, and his insta-lovey HEA romance with Grey was wonderfully swoony.

Narrator Kale Williams has made experiencing this series in audio a real treat. To quote this book, "Gah, his voice. If velvet had a sound; if honey could be heard; if honeysuckle made noise..." His wide range of distinct character voices is on full display here, and he captures Grey's nervous shyness and Mitsu's calm confidence perfectly.

Mitsu (near 40) is attracted to a person's energy, and the magnetic pull he feels toward Grey (25) is undeniable. Grey, who is trans, is cautious, afraid to trust and relinquish control, but can't deny feeling that same pull. Their romance is quite sweet, patient and thoughtful, and shibari provides another trust-building bridge between them (and is downright sensual), though it doesn't dominate the story.

Feeling safe to be vulnerable and having meaningful, affirming conversations are at the heart of this story (hooray for no silly misunderstandings), and cheers for the body-positive messaging. I would've welcomed a few character flaws and more of a slow roll in their getting together, but overall this is an enjoyable feel-good romance worth a listen.

The strong friends group spanning this series plays a lesser role in this story than some of the other books, but I'd still recommend reading the previous books going into this one, particularly Book 3. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Overly sweet and mushy.

Written in dual first person POV. Good amount of M/M sexy times and a couple humorous scenes. Has an HEA for the MCs and completes the series (I assume).

This book had several issues. First off, Grey is clearly hiding something about himself and his reasoning for not enjoying physical contact. The blurb does not explain it so I don’t want to spoil anything. I will say that the “issue” is not past abuse. The problem that I had with that storyline is that it caused the author to spend a lot of time explaining Grey’s situation. Some of it was interesting but it became repetitive.

Which leads to another issue - the repetition of mush. I get that this is a romance but it seems that all of her books suffer from finding more and more mushy declarations of affection after the first “I love you”. It’s repetitive and boring and not fun. I don’t mind the silly “let’s come up with the most ridiculous pet name” competitions but this book didn’t go that route.

Another thing that I noticed with this series is that nothing happens after the 60% mark. The characters fall in love and then spend the rest of the book telling each other how in love they are. Minor thing/side plots might come up but they’re resolved quickly and without conflict. I don’t typically skim books but I can see why some people might. You really don’t miss out on anything.

Overall, I’m glad the I borrowed the series through KU, and I might read other books by this author, but I will not re-read this series.

Wow just wow! How unbelievably hot are Grey and Mitsu! I needed a few cold showers myself haha. Now that, that is out of the way!
Mia has done an incredible job with this story and these two beautifully captivating characters. Grey ... Phew... What an amazing journey his story is. It's amazing to read his development with finally fully accepting himself, and his body in the most freeing way possible for him all while beautiful Mitsu continues the journey with him into self acceptance and self love. What a beautiful butterfly the caterpillar has turned into. I can't even put into words how perfect Mia did writing Grey in his struggles and falling in love with Mitsu.
And Mitsu I can't even put how perfect his character is on his own as well as with Grey. He truly is written for Grey. The support he offers in friendship into relationship is literal perfection. Their love is deep and I swear you can feel it, even though their fictional characters you truly feel their connection. He helps Grey so much with some of his internal struggles. And he's so at peace with himself and with Grey. *Sigh* they're just so brilliantly written. Definitely a must read as well the rest of the series.

“Baby, my feet haven’t touched the ground since I met you.”

(Sigh.) I have fallen in love with several of the guys from the Tattoos and Temptation series by now. I think this book was easily one of my favorites in this series, and that is saying something. This book was pure art! Grey and Mitsu fit together so perfectly and watching them fall in love was like a beautiful dance! Mitsu is the first to fall because he recognizes there is something truly special in Grey. He just has to figure out how to help Grey see it. Grey has a secret that he has only told a very small handful of people and that secret makes him keep his distance from everyone and everything. He loves the guys at Black Heart, but he doesn’t want any of his newfound work family to think any differently of him. It is only when he fully embraces everything and fully lets go of his fears that he finds that he can reach his full potential to love and be loved in return. Oh my heart...Mitsu is so patient. Again, this book was simply beautiful. There is zero angst here. Once these two start coming together, nothing can keep them apart. It was also great to see so many of the guys from the earlier books too. These guys are really family and I love it. Found families are my favorite types of books!!!

Twist Me is Grey and Mitsu story and it’s another great addition in the Tattoo and Temptation series. Grey is a tattoo artist working for Jude at Black Heart, he is Trans, shy and afraid of rejection. Mitsu is a Shibari master and find himself attracted to Grey not just for his beauty but he sense Grey in another level. These two are super sweet and I like how they become open about their feelings.
Mitsu is a great soul and I love how he and Grey connect, the chemistry is of the charts scorching melting hot. The trust Grey developed with Mitsu was beautiful to read, Grey was so brave to share his history not just with Mitsu but with the people he works and became his friends.
The experience Gray get for the Shibari and what he gets for it is liberating for both him and Mitsu, I love how they connect with this, makes you wanna try! Every book of Mia’s is a great story, I love that this is also free drama and just enjoy these two fall in love!

I have enjoyed so many of the books in this series but this one and Tempt Me have really grabbed my heart. Both couples are so thoughtful and loving to one another in the courtship process and as they become a we. In Twist Me, Grey is a bit hesitant to believe that he has caught Mitzu's attention. He is also concerned that his reticence to be touched will have an impact on their ability to be together as Mitzu is a master that teaches workshops on shibari. Both of them are so concerned with and considerate of the other as they slowly, over time build their friendship and then their relationship with one another into a strong connection. Their intimacy is so much more than physical because they take the time to build a communication and trust. I cared about them separately and together by the end of the book and I wanted more. I was fascinated with the descriptions of the shibari but moved by the demonstrations of care and trust that pervaded their time together. This series just gets better book by book.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

There's something about Mia Monroe writing Shibari that makes for an overwhelmingly sensual reading experience. It was the same for Free Me. It's truthful, and honest, and open, with stunning imagery and the perfect blend of sticky sweet and steamy kink.

Grey and Mistu are both deeply emotional characters, and getting both their POVs was critical in this book, I think. They were a match made in heaven. I love the representation in most Mia Monroe books, and I loved that even though Grey is trans, there's so much more to him than that. He's not diverse just for the sake of diversity. And Mitsu was so mysterious to me before this...seeing him from his own mind was poetic and beautiful.

I am definitely sad to be leaving the world - Mia has crafted a perfectly made group of found family in the Tattoos & Temptations universe that I will go back and visit again and again.

I was highly anticipating this book’s release. I love this series and have wanted to see Mitsu in action since he was first introduced. I absolutely loved this addition to the series. The shibari is described so well and the emotions are so great. I love that the characters from the other books are still so big in this one, I just really adore seeing them and what they’re up to after their personal story ends. Grey and Mitsu together are just so great, I loved watching them fall for each other. Seeing them in previous books had me knowing that they would be a great couple and they did not disappoint. The scenes are steamy and the chemistry is off the charts, I like that Mitsu is more attracted to Grey’s energy because it makes it more realistic for Mitsu’s personality to be attracted to energy than to appearance. Though this can be read as a standalone it is best enjoyed as part of the overall series. This is probably my favorite book of the series, which is saying something because I love them all! I would absolutely recommend this book and this series.

I am in the minority with my thoughts on this book. I felt it was a weak finale, the romance was okay but nothing epic, and I heavily skimmed through the reading. All the hype and anticipation I had for Mitsu and Grey's romance quickly dies out after the first three chapters.

The dialogue was the most taxing thing to get through. All the flowery language in the sex scenes slowed the pace down to a screeching halt and I was constantly rolling my eyes. The different ways they both found to proclaim their love could be a world record. I just hated it.

The part I enjoyed the most was the quick conflict presented with Mitsu's best friend. I was desperate for some tension but it was squashed as soon it it had arrived. A whole bunch of nothing happened in this book. It took me forever to finish.

I still can't bring myself to rate this book 1 star though. There were parts I really liked, particularly the Shibari scenes. This is a good pick for a light and breezy romance with great trans representation. Sadly, it just wasn't for me.

This book rocks! It’s time for Grey and Mitsu to get their story and what a story it is! Grey thinks he’s broken and there’s no way a guy like Mitsu would want anything to do with him romantically. Mitsu wants to get to know him better and the more he knows, the more he wants. He is also a Shibari master and wants nothing more than to get Grey in his ropes. But Grey has a secret about who he really is and he’s sure it will send Mitsu away. When he finally gets the nerve to tell Mitsu the truth, Mitsu is honored that Grey felt safe enough to share it with him. The two begin building a wonderful relationship together. Grey takes a chance on letting Mitsu use his ropes on him and he finds a freedom he never thought he could have. In fact, he becomes addicted to the feeling it gives him. Add in wonderful friends and family and you get a story well worth reading that has a wonderful happy ending!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I loved this final book in the Tattoos and Temptation series, I always enjoy catching up with all the guys and meeting the new characters who are going to fall in love.

Mitsu has been hovering in the background for a while, a Shibari master, his art has always intrigued me, as it does Grey, a young tattoo artist, who is hiding part of himself from those around him.

These two have hovered around each other for a, while and now they get to take the steps to get to know each other and for Grey to trust and open up to who he is. Grey is Trans and with the support or Mitsu and the discovery of what the ropes can do to set him free, these two form a beautiful relationship.

I enjoyed seeing Mitsu help Grey to find who he was through his art of Shibari and I loved the slightly odd way he has of speaking. He has always come across as very calm and contained and I loved how he let himself go with Grey.

A wonderful ending.

Mia has done it again. I absolutely love Mitsu and Grey’s story. In this book the bond and relationship forming go beyond the physical spectrum. Don’t get me wrong it still includes all the hotness and steaminess that we come to love in Mia’s books but it also shows a whole new type of connection. Mitsu is a Shibari master who’s attracted to more than physical appearance and Grey is a shy transgender man looking to find someone who can make him feel safe. Mitsu’s character is art, in the way he deals with his emotions, how he respects Grey’s boundaries and mostly because of those poetic phrases through out that you can’t help but to fall in love. This book is filled with vulnerability, friendship and family and of course some REALLY REALLY HOT ropey scenes 😉

Overall Twist Me is a beautiful love story that grows from something more than physical compatibility and that is guarantee to make you want your own Mitsu!
