4.5 stars - Oh my! No matter that this isn't my favorite book in the series. I think I have a new favorite couple! Ryker and Julieta are fabulous! Sure, they're broken time and again by death, betrayal, and circumstances they have no control over but they have the biggest hearts.
I love their bucket list. I love how, even though it's a bit over-the-top, completely they love each other. I love how determined they were to help complete strangers. I ❤ Ryker and Julieta!
The majority of the first half of the book is a rehashing of prior events covered in the other books. Of course, this is to be expected when another couple whose story has already been told is with them practically every step of the way. Once they split from Hunter and Vanessa is when the story really picks up steam. And I'm not just referring to the bedroom gymnastics. I love how their story is completely different from the others, including a longer period of time before trouble again finds them and what they do with that time.
Don't misunderstand. Things get plenty Harry... err... hairy, scary, and cringe worthy. All the while, more puzzle pieces fall into place. I can't wait to see what comes next!
In case you're wondering, yes, you really should read all of the books in this series in order. No trying to skip ahead. The stories are intertwined and the order will impact the overall timelines and understanding of events. I'm voluntarily reviewing an ARC. Happy reading! 📖🕯🔥💋

5 Star Review Cavern of Silence (Behind Closed Doors #4) by Maggie Cole
Firstly, if you have not read the previous books in the Behind Closed Doors series then STOP. This series needs to be read in order as the story arc builds with each book. There may be parts of this book that causes triggers in some readers, so be prepared, you have been warned.
As with the previous books in the series, Cavern of Silence had me riveted from the first to the last page.
The writing was strong and I was hooked in the story that Ms.Cole wove. Her characters have flaws and flaws that she is not afraid to explore and I appreciate that, it makes the books more realistic.
This is Ryker and Julietta’s story which brought to light more pieces to the puzzle; it was filed with drama and suspense.

Now you guys always hear me say, how maggie coles book are amazing and that she is a writing wizard. Thats because i only speak the truth. Maggie Cole books are like Pringles once you pop you just cant stop. Im telling you, this book is action packed and romance filled. Best yet and definitely recommend to anyone that asked.

This is one Hot, Sexy, Emotional, Blow you away book ever written! You will laugh, cry, cheer and have hot flashes by the time your done! I could not put this book down. This whole series is so incredibly hot and captivating!!!!!

Cavern of Silence is the fourth book in the Behind Closed Doors Series that is an up all night page-turner. We follow Ryker and Julieta through their adventure of their parts in the global leaders plan. Their story will make you laugh and cry. Make sure to have tissues within arms reach.

Wow, just WOW! I don’t know how these books get any better than the one before it, but the stories just keep getting better and the characters keep showing their strength.
I loved this story, and the characters may have gone through a lot but these two heal each other and show their strength and determination. I loved how the title of this book was revealed and it is so true.
Julieta is trapped in her job, she wanted to give her husband what he wanted and in order to do that she had to sacrifice herself, little does she know that she is sacrificing so much more.
Ryker is finally back to his regular job for Interpol and is on the rescue mission for the reporter and her sister that were taken by the Columbian drug lord Santiago Gomez. It’s been a year since he has been able to work with his regular team and he’s glad to be back, but the woman that he has been assigned to protect and get to safety has rendered his speechless when she comes out of the pit. Ryker could lose himself for good this time though.
Ryker and Julieta have both been hurt in love and Ryker doesn’t believe that he has a second chance at love, but when he sees Julieta and gets to know her, he finds that love can be found again. He finds that he will do anything to protect the woman that is in his charge and finding out her secrets and protecting her is something he will do until his last breath. He wants to see her happy and give her a life that she wants. The characters in these books are so strong, sexy, determined and ready to take on the world for their beliefs. The women have been taken for specific reasons but the men that rescue them have to find a way to keep them safe and take down those responsible for putting them in danger and hurting them. The men are brothers and know that their positions are in jeopardy, but they can’t turn their backs on these women and see them hurt any more than they’ve already been. I love these stories and the characters. Each book brings a different couple and their struggle to find safety and get clear of the dangers that surround the women. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for the next two books in the series. I learn a little more with each book as more secrets are revealed with each book and each couple and these couples are great!

Each book in this series BCD (Behind Closed Doors), reveals more of the plot twist, but the best part is we get to know the characters we've briefly met before. In some of those situations, we've viewed the scene from one person's POV; what Maggie Cole has done so well is give us the same scene from another POV. She has created more depth and layers to this series, making each book a vital thread in the series' tapestry.
Julieta and Ryker, for their own reasons, have been living in their own caverns of silence. Julieta because she feels unloved and unworthy of anyone caring for her. Ryker because he's trying to recover from the death of his wife of twenty years. Fifteen of those years, she was sick with cancer, and it took a toll on Ryker's heart.
Julieta, of all the females we've met in the series so far, to me, is the most down-to-earth. Brutalized, cheated on, and kicked to the curb, she manages to be kind. Ryker senses this in her, and he draws him to her. I thought Hunter and Vanessa's trials were horrible, but what Julieta and Ryker endure is painful. They do, however, come out the other side.

This book has left me speechless, emotional, and raw. It will take me a few days before I can start another because it was so amazing, I can not stop thinking about it. It will take you on an emotional journey; it's full of passion, love, heartache, pain, and hope. Julieta and Ryker have a love that every girl dreams of. They are the other half of each other's souls. My favorite quote from the book is, "Once you've found your soul, there's no going forward without it." It's perfect.

I really do not know how Maggie Cole does it time after time, book after book. Behind Closed Doors, book 4, Cavern of Silence was another winner! Ryker and Julieta's love was so deep and so strong. The emotions that were brought out during the reading of this book was all consuming. I swear if I had heart issues I may have to think twice about reading the story.....No, I would still read it! There was drama, suspense, questions are answered, answers are questioned. The twists are heart stopping and you need to hold on to your seat for all the turns that this story takes. Yes, you will cry(sob really) you will smile, you will sigh and you will fall in love with Ryker. He is sweet, strong, alpha, he will do anything for his woman and he does. Maggie Cole was unknown to me until I read the first BCD book, Depths of Destruction. From that point on I was a huge fan! The talent that it takes to write this series is amazing, and Maggie has to put a little of her soul in every book that she writes, because the emotion that is pulled from you demands it. Thank you Maggie for giving us this beautifully written series!

The 4th book of the Behind Closed Doors series is some HOT Stuff! Ryker has known true love and lost it leaving him devastated and believing that he will never know if and how he can ever love again. Then he rescued Julieta from a pit in the jungle. Julieta has only know one love in her life and he broke her heart. Can they find a love that will survive the ashes of the past? But first they must go through the pits of Hell to rise from the ashes. This book make me laugh, it made me happy, it made me angry and it made me grab the tissues more than once.

Maggie Cole you've done it again! This is Book 4 of the 6 book Behind Closed Doors series. I don't even know where to begin...this whole series is just blowing me away! I have never read such unbelievable writing. This story runs throughout the 6 books and keeps you guessing at every turn! There is mystery, intrigue, romance and tons of emotion with every chapter. You really get caught up in the characters. There are 6 women held in a pit for knowing too much. 6 sexy Interpol agents are sent to rescue them. Their escapes and trying to figure out the puzzle of the Global Leaders leaves you wanting more. You really need to read this series in order to get the full effect. Start with Book 1 and be ready for the ride of your life!

Even though I am not impressed by Ryder and Julietta’s story, I still enjoyed the drama. Currently finished the 4th book in the series and I have 2 more left.
Honestly, Maggie Cole did a good job with this series. All the books are easy to follow, around 1-2 steamy chillies, the guys are over the moon for their girls and each and every one of the characters come with a full baggage of emotions and life stories.
What I truly appreciate is that you have no 3rd act breakup like the usual romances, BUT instead of it, you have the MMC/FMC being kidnapped or in a life threatening position.
Honestly, Maggie Cole did a good job with this series. All the books are easy to follow, around 1-2 steamy chillies, the guys are over the moon for their girls and each and every one of the characters come with a full baggage of emotions and life stories.
What I truly appreciate is that you have no 3rd act breakup like the usual romances, BUT instead of it, you have the MMC/FMC being kidnapped or in a life threatening position.

The saga continues with Ryker and Julieta’s story and the surprises and twists will keep you intrigued. I loved these two. Lots of action, suspense, and steam. I loved Maureen (Ryker’s deceased wife) and her words of wisdom. But the inner dialogue was too much for me. It’s like it’s on repeat and is regurgitated ad nauseam. So I deducted one star.

So many things stand in the way but both are determined characters, and they are beautiful to read.

As the Behind Closed Doors saga continues I find myself more and more in awe of Maggie Cole’s writing. She is weaving an amazing story, with passion and intrigue, international locations, heroes that you love and heroines you want to be. Well at least during the sex scenes! There is violence and bad people, but the overarching story of good battling evil and winning is why I keep on reading. BUT this story is not predictable and you will find yourself surprised during the twists and turns. Bring on book 5 as I cannot wait to see where this is going!!

This is the fourth book in The Behind Closed Doors series and like the others it did not disappoint and once again I could not put it down from start to finish.
Ryker has just returned for his first proper rescue mission a year after his wife's death and immediately has feelings for his target, flight attendant Julieta, that he never thought he would feel again. As with all great alpha males, he promises to protect her at all costs.
As with every great book that Maggie Cole writes, nothing is that simple and there are many twists and turns along their journey to get Julieta to safety, with some gut wrenching moments that have you gripped .
I love how the plot continues to unfold as the series progresses and that ultimately love conquers all.
Bring on book five!

As much as everyone has been through during this series these 2 I think endured more than most in the short actual time they were together. Yet their instant love has lasted through everything they have been put up against.

Cavern of Silence by Maggie Cole is the fourth book in the Behind Closed Doors Series. Maggie Cole does an excellent job of continuing the story arc from the previous books that has kept me riveted in the books. Cavern of Silence is Ryker and Julieta's story. Both characters were introduced in book one of the series. I didn't care for Julieta in the previous books, but in this story, I understood her more. Maggie Cole did a terrific job of creating a wonderful multi-layered character. Ryker is one of my favorite characters in the series. I really liked Ryker and Julieta as a couple. I was captivated by this book. I am looking forward to the next installment. Kudos to Maggie Cole!

Julieta and Ryker play a huge role in uncovering what has gone on Behind Closed Doors . Julieta has endured more pain and heartache than anyone could imagine, beginning with the one person she thought loved her. Unbeknownst to her , he was only using her to get what he wanted. Ryker and Julieta – a sacrificing love
Cavern of Silence was an awesome read and smartened the pace back up for this fourth book in the Behind Close Doors series. It was hot, intense, action packed, sometimes brutal and even more romantic in my mind. Each book concentrates on an individual couple, but there is an underlying and common plot thread that author Maggie Cole is tormenting her readers with, so I say you have to start with book one. Money and time well spent – seriously!!!
Six women, six rescuers, Ms Cole has the reader questioning every person who featured in the past of these women. We know they were kidnapped for the secrets they carry, so in Cavern of Secrets, what is it that Julieta knows, and I tell you now, the story is artfully intertwined with the others. Wheels within wheels.
While Maggie Cole hasn’t been giving away too much, and has been building a lot of suspense within this series, my frustration levels have been rising, and I have been known to walk away before. Not this time however, because at four books through, more is being answered, successful rescues are happening and I can see an end in sight.
I loved Ryker McCarthy. He’d already loved and lost so much that it almost broke him and he never thought another woman would remotely interest him. But from the moment he saw Julieta’s photo at the beginning of the rescue mission, he was intrigued, when he met her, it was almost love at first sight, and he went straight into protective alpha mode. Pure chemical passionate romance. And even though I found her reticence at helping the team with information, frustrating, Ms Cole put forward her reasons succinctly and faultlessly. How can you again trust your judgement when you’ve so badly got it wrong before, and suffered painfully and degradingly for it???
Yep, we got some answers, but I’m wanting more!! For those who love conspiracy theories, this series is perfect for you!!! 4.5 Stars 🖤

My Review.......
Julieta has given up so much, she wanted to give her husband the world, so she took on extra shifts with the airline she worked for, her thanks.... him sleeping with her twin sister and having his baby!
Heartbroken Julieta tries to scale back on the overtime. Too late, she’s been told she knows too much and is now “owned” by the airline!
And that’s only the start of it.....
Taken, used, abused and scarred for life, Julieta knows her death won’t be a quick one, but she’s past caring anymore, death will bring a welcome release.....
Ryker is finally back with his team members after a year of “light” missions. Losing your wife to cancer would be hard enough, but watching your wife fight it again and again and again, only to finally lose her....
So he needs to keep a clear head and do his job, no way is he going back with the rookie teams!
It’s a simple enough task, six women being held hostage. Take out the bad guys, rescue the hostages, hand them over to Interpol (that’s who they all work for)
This book was really hard hitting, so be warned if you have triggers that include violence and the threat of violence. But saying that, I wouldn’t say it’s too graphic, but always be prepared (we all have different tolerance levels)
I have to admit it’s nice to read about grownups for a change, everyone is in their late 30’s early 40’s, and they do take time to recover (not all men are like Rambo running through the jungle)
And they all have life experiences that have shaped them into the person they are today.
Again a lot of the book is repetition, but from different characters, it’s good to see things their way.
It all kicks off when Ryker and Julieta leave Hunter and Vanessa (book 2) their story goes in a different direction, but it will eventually come back to the main story.
Hoping all the characters make it out in one piece.

Great continuation of the series!
Cavern of Silence is the 4th installment in her Behind Closed Doors series. In this book, we are told the story of Ryker and Julieta. Julieta was a flight attendant for a very powerful man. Like the other women who were kidnapped, she was privy to the secrets of powerful men. Secrets they will kill to keep silent. Julieta, along with 5 other women are held hostage by the cartel until a group of Interpol contractors rescue them. They end up splitting up, each woman going with their own protector, each providing a piece of the puzzle to the Global Leaders who are manipulating things.. Behind Closed Doors.
It is an insta-lust/insta-love romantic suspense that is heavily intertwined with the other books in the series. All the books run concurrently, but from a different couple’s perspective. I would not recommend reading this story by itself. I enjoyed the story, there were definitely more pieces of the puzzle shared and you can definitely see the dominoes starting to fall toward the conclusion. If you’re a fan of more complex romantic suspense storylines and enjoy insta-loves, this book/series will definitely check all your boxes!

I've said this on all previous reviews in the Behind Closed Doors series, and I'll say it again, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS SERIES! By the way, YOU MUST READ THE BOOKS IN ORDER because of the underlying suspense factor throughout each book and each rescued woman's story has their own piece of the puzzle. This is Julieta & Ryker's story, and like the previous women, Julieta is part of the grand scheme of things & her story is just as brutal as the previous womens to date. Ryker is the man who rescued her, and it was the best thing for him since he's not really been alive since tragedy struck his life. They have serious chemistry, but she has her baggage as she's been betrayed horribly that she believes she'll never have anyone good in her life. Ryker is doing his best to change her outlook but it's not quite that easy since she has trust issues, plus that whole danger stalking them issue does come at them hard The crazy twists are coming in hot, so my f-bombs are once again loudly dropping, and as things are really getting more intense, I'm once again chomping at the bit for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

It's currently 4.42am and I've just finished reading Julieta and Rykers story. This book actually made me weep sob and take too many deep sighs. I felt every pain and emotion they both felt. The loss through death or in any relationship dynamic was so raw it felt like I was experiencing it myself.
"At first, I cried into her pillow every night. The scent of her was still on it. It comforted me and also strangled me with the truth. She was never coming back. This was the new way of life. Loneliness. Emptiness. And the grief not only over her but over us. There would never be anyone again who would understand me the way she did, or love and accept all my imperfections. And how could anyone else ever make me feel alive again?" These particular words amongst many others shattered my heart. My heart was bleeding for ryker and Julieta. I honestly couldn't believe the evil they both experienced and the trauma they'll face going forward. Each book just gets better and better.
This series needs to be adapted into a movie or a series. It's that good. This is so far my favourite book of Maggie Coles.

There are always things going on behind closed doors and more connections around us than we usually know. Julieta is well aware of this and still finds out how much more has been going on that she didn't know. She is held captive for her secrets and feels unlovable. Ryker is there simply to save a target and move on to the next mission but the chemistry and draw between them is too strong to deny. He will go to the depths of hell to save her and finds himself doing exactly that. Julieta was resigned to her fate until she found a reason to be stronger than ever before. This book absolutely tugged at the heartstrings and every emotion. It is one you will not be able to put down because you just have to see them win. From checking off bucket list items, abductions, savagery in its purest form, and redemption and learning sometimes staying silent and keeping secrets isn't always best Maggie Cole has it all. I can not wait to read the next installment and see more of this unfold.

This book has left me speechless, emotional, and raw. It will take me a few days before I can start another because it was so amazing, I can not stop thinking about it. It will take you on an emotional journey; it's full of passion, love, heartache, pain, and hope. Julieta and Ryker have a love that every girl dreams of. They are the other half of each other's souls. My favorite quote from the book is, "Once you've found your soul, there's no going forward without it." It's perfect.
Book 4 of the Behind Closed Doors series reveals more pieces to the puzzle of the Global Leaders and their plans, as well as giving us more of the characters we are falling in love with. Each book in the series gives you glimpses of the characters that intertwine and are a part of this series. I love that we are given different POV in situations in the story, that really makes you think twice about jumping to conclusions and we may not always understand what someone else is or has gone through. As always, Maggie has blown me away. I cannot wait to read this next book in this amazing series.

The 4th book in the behind closed doors series blew me away much more than the first 3 I can’t wait to see what else Maggie cole came up with that stirs everything inside. The story of Ryker and Julieta is about deep love a deep connection that goes beyond the surface. Ryker had met love before but a love that was long and true but would go away and it was filled with pain and Julieta thought she knew love but was betrayed and hurt. Once they met they fill a hole that both needed and make it complete. Ryker was broken and Julieta was broken they both rise and feel each other, being broken is hard but with what they feel and how they feel for each other makes their world so full. Maggie cole does an amazing job intertwining each story but this one was one of my favorites so far I cried, laughed, got angry and was like aaaaaw. So if you want to be wowed read this book and the whole series you won’t be disappointed.
