Feral Aliens #1

Kitty vs Alien

Rate this book
When I catch my neighbor trying to steal my cat, I do what anybody would do.

I hit him with a spade.

That's when I discover my mild-mannered, cute, but boring neighbor is actually an alien.

With fur. And claws.

He doesn't work in finance, either. He's an interstellar bounty hunter. According to him, I've been aiding and abetting a fugitive in the form of my cat, Mr. Tiddles.
When I refuse to give Mr. Tiddles up, I find myself dragged before a merciless alien court. I have no chance of beating the charges, and the sentence is not what I expected.

I become the bounty.

I become his chain-kept.

I become the alien's kitty.

Light and kinda surreal/weird, Kitty vs Alien is...

A lot of the humor in this one missed the mark for me, and I did not enjoy it as much as I do the Possessive Aliens series. The commentary wasn't as sharp or on-point, and I didn't find the hijinks as amusing. But it was an enjoyable enough read that I mostly liked.

It did take me back to hear the aliens described like this, though. Ah, 1980s, you weirdos. 🖤

And Ms. Renard can not seem to help herself with being misogynist at times but then was totally self-aware about it? Which is supposed to negate it or something...because...wink? This one wasn't as bad as the last PA book, but it really makes me wonder.

Taken from this world to an alien planet, Kitty becomes the possession of Skoll and quickly learns she will be punished for any infraction. Determined to return to Earth, Kitty escapes but lands in serious danger which Skoll saves her and at the same time becomes wanted by the empire. This story got my attention in the beginning because of the banter between the two of them which was lively. It is an interesting story and worth reading.

Disappointing

The characters are hard to like. Kitty fights to save Mr Tiddles and Skoll makes her his sex slave in order to save her from a cruel punishment that he sets her up for which makes it even harder to like them. There is no romance between the two, just sex and dominance. The attempts at wittiness just left me rolling my eyes.

This is a fun and quick read next with drama and laugh out loud moments. Skoll is a bounty hunter on the hunt for Mr. Tiddles (a “cat”) and his owner, Kitty gets in the way. Well actually she hits him over the head with a spade and she ends up in a cat carrier on the planet Purr. The banter between the two is hilarious and the chemistry is sizzling. I can’t wait for the next story by this author!!

This is absolutely the most unique story I have read in a long while. Kitty is the most feisty heroine and Skoll is absolutely fearsome. However Kitty does not see him that way and fights until the end. This story had everything, humor, heat, suspense, mystery and will make you smile. Don’t miss this one.

I read the blurb of this book and thought it sounded like it would be a fun story to read so I decided to give it a shot. I think this was supposed to be a funny story but it didn't catch my attention and I didn't find it funny. Since it wasn't holding my attention, I gave up on it pretty quickly. I didn't want to waste my limited reading time on it when I've got such a giant TBR. Shame though cos the blurb made it sound like it would be a funny read.

I had to DNF after chapter two. I was hoping for a funny and yet sexy erotica what i got was an annoying female character who made no sense and forced sexy scenes that were frustrating. And i understand the cat element but making EVERYTHING cat related was over kill. Just not for me.

This is a different story of an alien bounty hunter here on Earth to capture an elusive alien criminal. The bounty hunter has features like a cat but he wears a mask that disguises his appearance. The criminal looks like an Earth cat with the name of Mr. Tiddles. While watching the suspect, or actually its owner, the criminal cat spots his pursuer and runs. So Skoll has to take off after him. Kitty, the “owner” of the criminal cat, sees her neighbor chase the cat, attempting to apprehend her pet, so she promptly hits him with a spade! Laid out on his back on the ground while the criminal cat sits on the garden table cleaning his paws, Kitty asks him what he thinks he is doing! He tells her the cat is NOT a cat, and she figures she may have hit him fairly hard on the head. He apologizes that he will have to sedate her for the journey to the Felidae system, specifically, the planet Purr, as he arrests her cat.

Kitty wakes up in a giant cat carrier, and her neighbor looks like a giant cat but on two legs. He keeps telling her to take this seriously, but she figures she is dreaming and it will all go away. When he steps into the cage, he shows her that she will be disciplined if she continues her defiant behavior.

This is a crazy, silly story that does have some funny moments. Sometimes it’s a bit too over-the-top and an eye roll is more appropriate. However, I positively do not like discipline, punishment, or spanking themes – which the alien cat bounty hunter resorts to -- feeling that type of retaliatory behavior is completely inappropriate. I am sorry I didn’t notice that this was one of those books when I grabbed it for review. When that nonsense starts, I stopped liking the story line. But I believe there is enough information for you to decide if you want to read it or not.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was good, with only a few typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was okay. I appreciated that humans and the hero's alien race are reproductively compatible in this novel. The characterization was very good, with both hero and heroine having strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was well done, with me the reader hating the hero as the heroine did and falling in love with him by the end of the novel just as the heroine did. The plot and pacing was tight and exciting, which meant I read this novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which I tend to prefer in my romance novels. This novel used the Captive Bride trope and the Partner in Trouble trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with BDSM elements. I look forward to reading the next novel in this series when it releases. I may buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Kitty's neighbor is trying to catch her cat Mr. Tiddles but Kitty puts a stop to that. What she doesn't know is that her neighbor is an alien bounty hunter and Mr. Tiddles is the fugitive he's hunting. Some mix ups happen and Mr. Tiddles gets away, but Kitty is taken to the alien's planet, Purr. Kitty is charged with aiding the fugitive and the alien that captured her, Skoll is awarded her as his chain-kept, he can do whatever he wants with his captive and he does! Kitty, Skoll and Mr Tiddles go on to experience quite the adventure as their path gets complicated and they end up being fugitives themselves. The banter and the unique situation they find themselves in makes for a wonderful story
filled with sex, punishments for Kitty, Mr. Tiddles as an accomplice and lots of dominance by Skoll as he finds his attraction for his human captive is irrisistable and a never ending struggle for obedience from her. Kitty is not the obedient type and seems to love her punishments a bit too much. I enjoyed the story and all the characters and am looking forward to Scratch, the next in the Feral Aliens series.

There were so many things I loved about this one, but the quirkiest is Kitty's habit of singing "My Favorite Things". Since that's always been one of my favorites, and one of the songs I sang to my children when they were young, it created an instant connection.
This story isn't what I would consider a dark read, but there are elements of discipline. It has a lighter feel to it, with many humorous elements that had me smiling and giggling throughout most of the book. There are so many things I want to say about the book, but I think it would give away too much of the plot and diminish the joy readers would find by jumping into this one blind. So, I'm just going to say that anyone who loves quirky, feisty females who loved to run circles around the men who think they're in control will love this one. Skoll may hold Kitty's leash, but her character is too much like the animal she's named after to just lay down at his feet. This one is fun. It's full of little things that will make a reader smile and has the added bonus of heat and passion. I loved every second of it and hope to read more stories set in this fun world.

Skoll is a bounty hunter from the planet Purr. He is looking for an escaped fugitive. He also happens to have a thing for his neighbor Kitty. Kitty is a happy joyous person that just loves to garden and sing. When her mean neighbor tries to hurt her cat Mr. Tiddles, she takes matters in her hands. But Tim aka Skoll isn’t going to lose his bounty. He may just have to take Kitty along with him.

This is a weird one. I didn’t think we would be experiencing fuzziness. There are a lot of tongue and cheek funny names: richardkimble, purrsiltongue, you get the idea. This book does not disappoint. It is funny and cute. Kitty has her moments with Skoll. She gets punished and the toy that Skoll has, WOW, that must be something. The feelings that Skoll does whatever he has to to protect Kitty. Meeting new aliens on Purr is interesting. All the conversations are funny and lite. But Skoll does have a dirty kinky side. I do love the dirty talk. Always so good. War is hell as we all know but it is a fight to save both of their worlds with a happy ending.

Skoll is an alien bounty hunter, from the planet Felidae, come to Earth in his chase for the fugitive he's after. The bounty has taken the form of a cat and is currently Mr. Tiddles, the unassuming pet of his neighbor, Kitty. He can't ignore her because she seems to be everywhere. He's convinced himself it's because part of his job is to notice things. Skoll continues to tell himself he's not fixated or obsessed with her. And it is certainly not unrequited love which tears at his heart day and night. When Mr. Tiddles and Skol make eye contact and recognition takes place, the chase is on through Kitty's garden while she's working. That's when this whole adventure starts and what a journey it is. There are plenty of surprises in this story, the character's personalities are relatable, both with strengths and weaknesses, and the world-building is vivid. This is going to be an interesting series that I can't wait to see where we go next.

I loved this!

There are not many authors who could entreat me to read their book with their blurb “When I catch my neighbour trying to steal my cat, I do what anybody would do. I hit him with a spade. That's when I discover my mild mannered, cute, but boring neighbour is actually an alien. With fur. And claws.”

Yup, it stretches most boundaries but Loki Renard is a gifted storyteller. You are pulled into a world that becomes real very quickly with characters you get to know and love very well.

All of this is told with a humour I adore. The story is told with lines you will never find elsewhere. My favourite lines from the book may be stolen and end up on a wall plaque ‘ “Tell me what the f*** is going on, or I’ll spade you again.” Spade is a verb now. I spade, he spades, she spades… it just works. And I am going to spade the s*** out of this a******.’

....and I thought this was a stand-alone... just spotted another in the same series so guess what I am reading next!

Fascinating, captivating, hilarious, and entertaining - great writing!

I had a really good feeling about this book, but it’s so much better than what I expected. Kitty (LOVE that name) is kind, nurturing, and willing to do anything to protect her cat. But she’s also sassy and outspoken and brave. She’s a woman after my own heart. Skoll is on an interplanetary mission just trying to collect his bounty. When their paths cross over Mr Tiddles, worlds collide. These cat aliens are just as neurotic, aloof, and otherwise cat-like as their relatives on earth. Feline aliens from a planet called “Purr,” cats from all walks of life, and a very different social hierarchy than that of earth. Such incredible world building, wonderful, interesting, dynamic characters, and a plot that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. I can’t say enough good things about Kitty vs Alien. It’s simply purrfect!

This book was a bit hard to get into. It started really slow for me because I just couldn't get into the heroine. It was very difficult to like her as she came across extremely dense and beyond annoying. The saving grace was the bizarre universe the story is based in. Loki is perfect at creating captivating and complex worlds with extremely addicting characters. While I think Kitty was one of the worse heroines Loki has drafted, Skoll did not disappoint. He was the Alpha/Dom alien male you would want to come and serve you a sinful dose of pleasure and pain. He was possessive and dominant, which are traits we all want in Alphas. Towards the end, Kitty starts to grow on me, and finally at the very end I understand why she was so unbelievably annoying. Overall I enjoyed the book and will continue to read the series.

Solid 3 stars.
Not my favorite plot line, or sex, or characters, or ending...but nothing really wrong with it.
I didn’t feel particularly attached to these characters. There was zero back story on them, and any conversation had between the two was just stated that it happened, not shared with us.
Actually, I thought Kitty was a bit reckless throughout, and annoying at times.
And Skoll was a bit cold at times when a kind word would’ve gone a long way, not helping to endear himself to me.
Then the whole reason for them even getting together sort of fizzles out without any sort of satisfying answers, and what tiny conflict happens during the second half of the book does the same.
And the ending sort of fizzled out too, leaving me feeling just...meh about the whole book.
Not terrible. Not good. And I’ll probably forget all about it within a week, sadly.

Oh my goodness! My next door neighbor is chasing my cat around my back yard trying to take him away from me, so I hit him with a spade (you know those little shoves you use gardening) next thing I know I'm in a cat carrier and well my neighbor looks nothing like the businessmen he was impersonating, he's not human at all. He starts explaining to me my cat is not a cat (huh?) and I am no longer on Earth, but on Purr, confused yet (well me too). But there is just something special about Skoll that needs to be explored more thoroughly before I decide whether we both want the same thing and it's not my cat.

Different and interesting story of humanoid alien with cat like features like fur and claws. Skoll is in disguise on Earth in search of a fugitive that he believes has taken on the cat body of his next door neighbor, who funnily enough, is named Kitty. When she gets in the way of Skoll’s capturing of the furry escapee he takes her as collateral. But on his planet, Purr, humans are not the superior species so he does what he needs to to keep Kitty safe while on the hunt for the criminal cat. Skoll makes Kitty is chain-kept. From here the story evolves as does their strange relationship. They have to learn to trust each other in order to overcome several obstacles threatening them.

Whiskers on Kittens...

Oh I have so loved reading this book by Loki that it not only is it humorous with a few lol moments by I also love the little mind twists and cat puns...
Skoll is an alien bounty hunter on the hunt for wanted criminal who happens to be Kitty’s pet cat Mr Tiddles..…but in the process of the capture, Skoll also takes Kitty as an accessory to the crime to be tried on planet Purr....
This story is packed with action and adventure, intrigue and humour with steamy sexy scenes that definitely made this one very interesting read...

This is a quick, cute story. Kitty is taken into custody by Skoll when she defends her cat, Mr. Tiddles. He claims her as his chain-kept, which means he can do whatever he wants to her and, of course, he does! The repartee between the two is highly amusing. Kitty just won't accept that she is his prisoner and tries to escape to find Mr. Tiddles. Instead, she needs to be rescued by Skoll. A very cute story!

This cute Alien romance had me giggling with the tongue in check dialog along with the happenings in this story about Kitty and Skoll and our rapscallion the cat - Mr. Tiddles. Yes, there is a lot of cat references in this story that was a delight to read. Because of Mr. Tiddles, Kitty is sentence to becomes the pet of Skoll which leans toward the dark romances in the romance department. But with the twist and turns and action that happens in this story, what outcome will Kitty, Skoll and Mr. Tiddles have? I volunteer to read and review this ARC via Booksprout.

Escapist candy

4.25 stars

Not my usual type of book but I did enjoy the bonkerness of it all. Melodrama, fated mates, and BDSM life. Perfect for someone that needs a candy read.

Kitty and Skoll are an odd match. He's domineering, she hits him with a spade for going after her cat. Sets up an interesting scifi world where the cat nuns from Doctor Who would fit right in.

Some parts do contain a multitude of issues, but it was perfect for escapist fic. Content warnings for dub con.

Kitty was just trying to protect her kitty, Mr. Tiddles, from her neighbor, Tim. But someone should've been protecting her.

Skoll, aka Tim, is trying to capture a fugitive but Kitty and her spade have something to say about that.

Cats....big cats! Human sized sexy cats. Never would've thought it. Loki always comes up with something out of the box and she definitely didn't disappoint.

Wild ride!
Take your typical alien abduction story, add in some Alice in Wonderland vibes, some Lion King feel, and some existential questions asked by cats, and you get ‘Kitty vs Aliens’. Oh, and don’t forget the spicy hot sexy times! A loved Kitty’s sassiness, and her unstoppable attitude. I also loved that Stoll, while he wanted her to behave, never tried to break Kitty’s spirit. Another wild and crazy fun read by Loki Renard.

Here kitty kitty!

This is an absolutely fantastic, funny and very sexy story. Right from the very first chapter I was completely hooked on Kitty and Skoll’s story. It’s fast paced, suspenseful and very steamy. Not only that but the puns, wit and humour kept me in stitches.

Skoll and Kitty have such great chemistry and the back and forth banter make for one very entertaining story. I absolutely loved these two and I could not get enough.

Absolutely fantastic writing. Loved it.
