Rogue assassin Tess Williams prowls the city’s shadows where she preys on killers, pimps, gangbangers, rapists… the monsters that ruin lives. Haunted by a tragic past, she’ll risk everything to protect the innocent and avenge the dead.

A brutal gang is terrorizing Manhattan by snatching women off the streets and making their worst nightmare a reality, so Tess storms into action, determined to nail the monsters whatever the cost. However, every lead slams her into a dead end… until she uncovers one shocking clue.

But just when she thinks she’s closing in on the gang, the biggest danger she’s ever faced may be the one she’s hurtling toward. Unfortunately for Tess, the secret to eliminating this depraved scum lies halfway around the world in a crime-infested hellhole where shootouts, abductions, and murders are all parts of everyday life.

Alone, in one of the deadliest places on the planet, Tess relaunches her investigation, but before she knows it, she’s trapped and fighting for her life against a horde of the most bloodthirsty psychos she’s ever encountered.

With the clock ticking, how can Tess get out alive and make it home to bury those monsters before they strike again?

Steve has three passions: anti-heroes, animals, and travel. To date, he's visited 60 countries and has adopted five homeless cats, but he's yet to prowl the streets in the dead of night to beat up bad guys (though he still daydreams about doing so, but who doesn't?).

In pursuit of adventure, he's cage-dived with great white sharks, sparred with a monk at a Shaolin temple, and explored exotic locales such as Machu Picchu, Pompeii, and the Great Wall of China.

Fortunately, his passions fuel his fiction. He loves to pepper his action-packed thrillers with the exotic places he's explored and the unusual encounters he's experienced, while his dog stories glow with the love and companionship that will warm the heart of any animal lover.

More recently, while on his travels, Steve came across two true stories from the Holocaust which moved him so deeply, he has based two novels on them.

He lives in the North of England with his partner, Ania, the great-great-great niece of the 1924 winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, and two stray black cats who visited their garden one day and liked it so much, they moved into the house. Luckily, they graciously allowed Steve and Ania to carry on living there, even allowing Steve to continue paying the mortgage to give him a sense of purpose.

If you love stories of four-legged heroes, tales from histories darkest hour, or books with pulse-pounding action, you'll love Steve's three series. He wrote them for book lovers just like you!

Die Forever, the tenth installment in the Angel of Darkness series, does not disappoint...and Tess is back!

Tess was looking forward to a quiet life of "retirement". She had trained hard but learned that, sometimes, training isn't everything. And sometimes, life has its own ideas about where it is headed. It isn't always about what we want...due to fate or circumstances.

Steve N. Lee did a fantastic job of describing the emotions, fears and desire for revenge/retribution that victims fantasize about. In this book, you will feel the victim's pain and silently rejoice that someone may be capable of getting justice. Will the victim see the perpetrators get a taste of their own medicine? Only reading this book will give you the answers...and you will be hooked on this series!

Die Forever, Book 10 in Steve N Lee’s series is jammed packed with everything a book needs to be called a thriller...and THEN SOME. Tess Williams takes vengeance to new heights in this one as it is up close and personal to her in this book. Tess is a complex woman who has abilities that most do not have to take down the worse of the worse. Smooth reading with a few bumps, and those few bumps are your heart thumping as you read about her exploits in her missions as Steve N Lee writes about so well. VERY skillful story telling. And let’s not forget the Black File 10 book that accompany’s this very thrilling read. The reader is gifted by a skillful Author who keeps this reader on the edge of the chair. Tess makes the book a compelling read! DON’T MISS THIS ONE. Enjoy!!

Very quick read. This was the first Tess Williams book I've read so didn't know anything about her. At the end of this book I still know hardly anything about this character. The author does little to develop his characters so you don't really know what they are all about. Tess, the Bomb, the cop. Who are they? Story is like a Death Wish movie except Tess keeps finding herself in peril and in doubt every place she goes. Is she an assassin or???? Again, character development was severely lacking. Having said all that the book was somewhat entertaining and did not have to labor over it to finish.

Beat. Run. Repeat.

This is a standalone book in the middle of a series. It is reasonably well contained. Nothing critical was lacking from not having read the others.

Tess is the victim of a brutal crime. Tess is impulsive and charges head-on into solving the issue and, to little surprise, suffers from lack of planning several times.

The book is full of nonstop action but in the end I was left feeling nothing was resolved. It seemed rather selfish and didn't provide any relief to other victims. Action fans might do well to start at the beginning of the series to get more understanding of Tess, but I bid her farewell.

A harsh reminder that she is human and not a machine as she had feared. All the action and intrigue you expect as Tess is torn between two worlds.

Riviting, fast paced crime drama

Tess is as tough as they come but even she is no match for a gang of thugs. I loved how she takes her anger as a victim and channels it. Her feelings while raw give her power she needs to end the reign of terror of the gang.

Bye-bye bedtime...

This story was a bit of a departure from the previous books in the series in that we get to see a different side of the main character, Tess. She is always a great character to follow on her adventures; she always delivers when it comes to hard-hitting action and the total annihilation of evil doers. In this story, however, Tess is the victim of a brutal assault and is justifiably traumatized to the point of questioning her ability to render justice to the scumbag perpetrators. Her confidence is shaken, her humiliation is complete, and her fury is consuming, but she is adamant about finding these villainous thugs and making them suffer for all the pain and anguish they have wrought on an unknown number of female victims. Despite some understandable faltering, Tess still delivers her unique brand of vigilante justice that followers of this series have come to expect. Her assault, thankfully, was not graphically described, but still made for some difficult reading. Sadly, however, such events do occur (and with sickening frequency) and I think that reality is why this story of her ultimate triumph was so satisfying to read. I started this book thinking I would just read a couple of chapters before bed – the joke was on me. This is another of Mr. Lee’s epic tales of justice which will not release you until you have read the very last sentence. Only then, enveloped in a cloud of satisfaction, can you turn out the light and go to sleep. Awesome.

I was given an ARC of this book, as I'd read all the others in the series - it was an excellent read, if disturbing.

Disturbing because of the subject matter, but written extremely well.

Tess is an amazing character - tough, big heart and vulnerable.

This kind of book can make a difference to those who become 'victims', and anyone who reads it will probably have an angry heart yet will be rooting for the villains to die and the 'victims' not to be 'victims'.

There are themes such as vengeance, murder, rape, isolation, grief, bravery and more... It's a gritty and fast-paced read and although disturbing, I think it's a great one with important lessons - I don't want to give spoilers.

Overall, a brilliant story, well told, but there will be consequences to your mind - thought-provoking at the very least.

Highly recommended - as is the rest of the series.

Tess is flying to China to start a new chapter in her life when the worst happens. It was almost more more than she could handle, especially after discovering there was no easy way to exact revenge. With help from her friend she finally finds a way. As always, Tess and the cast of characters is great with plenty of action. Story line is also great. Read it one sitting, just couldn’t put it down.
