Off The Page by Elizabeth Kenyon is such a cute and light-hearted read. It made my rom-com heart burst with happiness and I read this in basically one sitting. I sat down to read one chapter and didn't stop until I was finished... on a school night! All my teacher friends, you know how big of a deal that is these days!

Jane is a coffee batista by day and writer by night. She's been working on her novel for years and just can't seem to finish. Until one day, she meets her main character. And falls in love?? I mean how could she not, she created him! But what happens when his love interest from her story comes into the picture? Jane must decide between finishing the story she's been working on for years or write her own.

I'm seriously over here clapping for this one and begging for more!!! It was definitely the highlight of my week! Thank you, thank for my gifted copy!

I throughly enjoyed the writing style Elizabeth Kenyon has. The characters are written in a way that you feel like your friends with all of them. And the way the timeline is written, it’s like you’re watching an episode of reality tv. Close knit friend group, a hot guy, and a woman trying to “steal” said hot guy.

This book was a great palette cleanser while I was between two difficult reads. It was a breath of fresh air! It is a clean romance, so no steam-filled scenes. But, it honestly didn’t need it. The storyline felt complete even with just a couple of sweet kissing scenes. I loved that about this novel!

The twist at the end, was something I was not expecting and I loved how it played out! For a shorter novel, it did not leave me feeling like I was missing any details.

Overall, I really liked this book and I will be recommending it to everyone I know. I can’t wait to see what else Elizabeth Kenyon has up her sleeve!

This book blew me out of the water! I was invested from page one and hooked until the end. There was just so much to love about this book so Iet me share a few of these things.

We hear the story through the main character, Jane. Jane was such a relatable character which is part of really bonded me to the story. She’s in her early twenties, stuck on a writers block, and trying to figure out what to do with her life. Even as she goes through this crazy experience of her book characters coming to life, I found myself nodding along to her thoughts and decisions. It was easy to see myself doing a lot of the same things as her. I just really loved how relatable she was.

As well, Kenyon paces this book very well. Just when you think the action might be falling, something jolts it back to life. I was never bored or tired of the story.

Something that I loved (perhaps the most) was the romance in this book. Things played out exactly how I hoped they would and left me smiling and, admittedly, a little giddy. It was all the hints in the book that really did it for me though. I won’t say anymore as not to give anything away, but it was a well-written romance for the hopeless romantic in me.

Overall, it was fun, a little magical, and just romantic enough to leave me wanting more from Kenyon. Seriously, though, do you have another book coming out soon? A must-read for all!!

For years, Jane has been writing an enemies-to-lovers romance novel, but she feels as though her story is getting nowhere. She is stuck on the plot, and she can't figure out how to create the big conflict that can get her story moving again. When Benjamin King, her main male character, shows up in real life at her coffee shop in the middle of her shift one day, Jane is shocked. She doesn't understand how it's possible, but she decides to just roll with it and soon begins to take a liking to him. However, not all stories end the way you may think, and just when Jane thinks she's in love, her own story shifts and she realizes what, or rather, who, was standing in front of her all along.

I really, really enjoyed this book! It was short and sweet, which is always nice, but it was also just such an entertaining story. Jane is a character that I could absolutely relate to, and she made me laugh out loud multiple times. The plot was driven and constantly interesting, and I found myself yearning for more after the story ended (and the constant one-liners and sarcastic comments were just *chef's kiss*). I love a good romance novel, and 'Off the Page' was just the cutest thing ever!

A huge thank you to Elizabeth Kenyon for sending me a copy of her book in exchange for a review! This does not affect my opinion of the book.

Jane is a barista writer who hit writers block along with several other writing issues and can't seem to finish it, although that was her first and only writing goal. Just then she happens to meet characters she wrote in real life, her life.

I liked the premise so I bought the book and for the first half enjoyed the style of writing, meeting the characters and slow development. I enjoyed how author described some issues writers meet while working - block, character developement, plot devices... And then we hit the second half.

At one point the whole chapter was just retelling of what happened to characters, no dialogue and no reason for us to even know how that day folds out. Some things got rushed, some not explained enough or at least in a manner that would seem natural. Lot of things mentioned through novel didn't play any part in the plot.
The ending just seemed too soon for me and as if I skipped few chapeters (which I did not).
This read as if unfinished, and although the author herself probably had a goal to just finish something (which she did), along the way she did it sloppy. First half was great and very promising, the second half was unfinished for me. Still, I don't regret buying and reading it.

So I have to say I kinda picked up this book because of the cover BUT I did not pick up this book to be called out so hard Elizabeth Kenyon. Sheesh.

Seriously, anyone who has ever written or tried to write a novel (like *ahem* me)-

Page 13:
"Apparently romantic tension and plucky dialogue is all I'm good for... I type and delete and retype and re-delete several sentences to no avail before resigning myself to editing old chapters, a big no-no. I read once that you're never supposed to go back and edit until you've finished the rough draft completely, but I commit this transgression all the time."

Yep.

Anyways, super cute read, all full of cotton candy fluff and though maybe not top quality literature, I picked it up and blasted through the whole book without stopping. The content was very clean, only some kissing, and as a whole it left a wistful smile on my face so yeah, 4 stars.

A writer, a cute love interest, a coffee shop, what more can a girl ask for?

This was such a cute book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the cliches, I loved the classic romantic tropes, even if I was a bit taken aback by the ending. This is a very sweet book. The perfect book to curl up with on a rainy day and a cup of tea, which is exactly what I did 💖

This book was really good until I got to the ending. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters. Jane felt very relatable, and I can see a lot of myself in her. However, I found the ending disappointing. It felt rushed. Overall, I think this was a good debut novel that would've been great if the story and characters were more developed.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This little novella was quick paced and fun! I was expecting more of a romance but something was missing. It reminded me so much of a Korean drama that I loved called W where a cartoonist's characters came to life and his own daughter fell into the storyline. I think if this book was developed a little more I would have enjoyed it more.

Super cute! The main character, Jane, panics when she meets Ben King, the cute editor she thought only existed in the pages of the novel she’s been trying to finish for years. She finds herself drawn to him, and looking forward to making his coffee at the shop where she works, but then his perfect girl comes sauntering in.

Jane knows it’s his perfect girl because she wrote her too.

I love the spilled coffee meet-cute, the tension between the characters in the love triangle, and wondering if Ben and Izzie really were fictional.

Very well-written and engaging! This is a novella, which limited the depth of some of the characters, but a fun, fast read!
