Maybe if I say it enough I’ll believe that I’m ready for year three. It’s nearly upon us, and I’m not even sure that will be the most worrying thing I have to face.
I may be free from one of the Harkwrights, but another is taking his place. A wildcard and mystery. Whether he's better or worse than the one he's replacing remains to be seen.
If I keep on baking I might succeed in fooling myself into believing I am safe. That everything that has happened in the past two years was just a nightmare. But really that's just wishful thinking, because there are some things even fresh bread and homemade cakes cannot fix.
I have a lot of things to consider and I don’t know where to begin. From facing the way I feel, to questioning every belief I hold. I don’t know who I will be when I come out of this, or where my path will finally lead.
One thing I know for sure, I’m not the same girl I was when I first entered the Academy I’m stronger, and hopefully wiser. I’ve come this far and I will see it through.
B.C. Morgan lives in England with her amazing fella, their twin devils (also called kids), and their pets. She’s a lover of all things creative from baking to drawing, if it’s creative she’ll give it a go. For someone who claims to not like people, she somehow always manages to surround herself with friends and family.
While B.C. loves bringing life to all the voices in her head, who demands she tells the world their story, she sometimes wishes they were less homicidal. But alas, what’s a poor author to do when death and destruction is being demanded?! To be fair it isn’t really surprising B.C.’s characters are acting like that, considering she has a list with everyone who’s wronged her. It started with the tooth fairy who didn’t pay for her teeth.
I've been obsessed with this series since I picked up book 1, but this ending...... I'm pretty upset. I'm not going to lie. I need some time to think about this one.
Luna is an angel surrounded by sharks. Some are still playing with her, some are still trying to harm her, some still crave her and somebody will have her.
The games, the rules, the hiding, the not knowing, the secrets, the lies, dead girls, the torture, humiliations. Sometimes she was barely surviving. And sometimes she lived a fairy tale. Even if just for a while.
It was in this book where I finally realised which guy I liked the most. I loved Luna all along.
And some things simply blew me away: that thing about her sister, Cole, the way Luna unleashed her demons (Man! That was sexy), finding out who the killer was,...
Shattered Souls broke my heart. It was incredible, haunting, and in the end - dreamlike!
Shattered Souls is the conclusion to The Harkwright series and I have to say BC did not disappoint. I am a quick reader and this book took me between 8-9hrs to read and I could not imagine leaving anything out to make this book any shorter.
Luna crushes it in this book, We have seen her face so much diversity, bullying & betrayal, You name it this series has it. This is the third and final year and we see the Harkwright men band together as they suspect Luna is being set up to fail so they go out of their way to stop it from happening.
This series has so many twists and turns your head doesn't stop swinging and one minute your hating a character next minute your loving them. BC you wrecked me with this trilogy and I've never read a series with this kind of storyline, It's one of a kind and you definitely have a hit series on your hands. The ending was well done and the timeline perfection. I will be recommending this series to anyone that listens...
I, uh, have a lot going on in my head about Shattered Souls, the third and final book in The Harkwright Trilogy. I'm conflicted by several things, and I'll try to explain them the best I can. The review will probably have a tiny bit of spoiler, but nothing major that will ruin the experience.
First, Luna was very disappointing, honestly. I think that most of the character growth she had in the second book stayed in the second book. Her opinions were all over the place, and many of them made me a little upset for Luna herself. The way she just dismissed everything that Shane did to her during the previous two and in not so many words hoped that he'd be happy was the worst. Maybe the author wanted to show that Luna could forgive and forget and actually tried to explain the reasoning behind Shane's (and consequently Thallon's) cruel and absurd bullying, but it wasn't enough in my opinion. That was not a good enough reason for Luna to just magically forget that they humiliated her in the most degrading ways possible. It really baffled me that the author chose to give that particular ending to a guy that hit and abused women, and after that part I kind of... detached from the book. The other half was just downhill from there, such as her dense opinion about a friend's pregnancy and the decision to hide things from the guys she claims to love. However, I happen to identify with that side of hers that doesn't think she's good enough, the shy and lonely one, so I can't bring myself to dislike Luna.
Second, let's talk about the guys. Tucker was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best guy during this series. He didn't actively try to hurt Luna, and instead wanted to keep her safe from the other Harkwrights, in his own way. He was still a controlling son of a bitch, don't get me wrong, but Tuck didn't want to fight against his pull to Luna. Aeron was the lesser evil, but the way he dismissed Luna after claiming her just didn't sit right with me and not gonna lie, I'm still bothered by it. He does learn how to accept Luna and the other guys, so I can safely say he had a good character growth in book #3. Emmet was Emmet right until the end, nevertheless he did found it within himself to make it up to Luna for all the crap he pulled. Thallon, I'm very torn about him. He is the biggest asshole of them all, but then of course the author showed that sweet side of him and I hated myself for falling into that trap. I still think he deserved to pay for what he did to Luna, and I wanted to see him grovel while licking the ground she walked on. Darius appeared so infrequently that I just kept forgetting about him. He was pushed to the side so much I almost consider him a secondary character and yet in the end the author made him like her main guy, the only one that knows all her secrets and etc. I do like Darius, but he literally didn't do anything for most of the book, so it made little sense that Luna would only trust him with her secret in the final chapters. Tom, I was expecting that. Nothing much to say about it other than fuck him. Cole, never liked him, still don't like him.
Third, the ending, which I severely disliked it. I'm not even going to pretend that I wouldn't have liked it better if she just went away and never looked back, but I'm also not particularly bothered that she ended up with a HFN. Even so, that major secret I was talking about that Luna only trusts Darius with? It really, really annoyed me that she didn't trust the other guys with that. How the hell do they expect to move forward and have a relationship based on huge lies such as that? The guys kept so much crap from Luna during her stay at Harkwright and she loathed the fact that they were hiding things from her, and yet she does the same? Ugh, just no. The final chapters were also unfortunately all over the place and poorly edited, not to mention chapters kept losing flow easily.
Overall, I'd give 3.5/5 stars for the whole series and 3/5 stars for the third book. A somewhat disheartening ending to an otherwise promising series.
So, first of all, this is a majorly thick book. 200,000 words, written by one amazing author! She has created this pseudo-fantasy/contemporary world of a Bachelor-style university, where 50 young women are made available to 15 men of a select, elite family. The idea for this is incredibly brilliant, but the struggles and successes written into this story are extremely individualistic, the character development so detailed, this entire series is amazing.
This book in particular, book 3 after a novella, and final book in the series, we see a new, KEY character introduced, so the whole dynamic changes, but the whole series plot continues. This book brings up new concerns, but still ends up solving all the issues and questions readers have. I have never seen what I like to call a “mini-cliffhanger” in the middle of the d@mn book! I almost threw my phone, I DID scream. Lol how does this happen?! I mean, I only had to flip the page, but I have never been shaken like that in the middle of a book before!
The ending... the ending shook me. Not a typical Happily Ever After, but the main Female character does end up happy. The last few chapters were extremely rough, emotionally. The main character goes through a transformation throughout this series, and her metamorphosis comes it such a pivotal time.
Story 📖: 5/5 Heat 🔥: 5/5 HEA 🥰 : 5/5 Emotions 🎢 : 7/5
Such an amazing end to our time at Hawkwright Academy!
This is a really long book with 600+ pages but @BCMorgan has very finely inserted twists, reveals, moments of laughter, romance and passion as and when required so that nothing gets dull. The ending made me cry and it's not what was expected, at all. It's different, emotional and full of warmth.♡
This book tested my patience and emotions on every level. After reading this I can't hate any of the guys she ends up with because it's justified. Did I cry when Thallon made her do stuff initially? Yes I did. But now, with knowing him, seeing him and being with him throughout the journey, I can't say he's bad, because he isn't.
There's a new harem where old members may leave and new members may join. This book was definitely a dicey one since we had no idea what would happen.
The secret of the intruder came out pretty easily I guess along with the legacy one. I'm so happy I wasn't rooting for that "one" guy because we have a snake in the harem! I love, like absolute LOVE how Aeron handled everything, he's smart!
The romance is killing me because it's so sweet! Emmett has definitely grown upon me and Aeron as always is my one and only♡♡
Luna is all for embracing her darkness and accepting that she's not perfect but I felt like her character didn't improve but instead worsened a little bit. I understand that she's the forgiving, soft and meek character but she did do some...dumb things like forgiving the ones who made her life hell, helping the girl when she knows there are chances of her being backstabbed and by following Sir at the end which means that she didn't pay attention to what was said before.
I'm really happy with all the guys as they're not what we actually thought in the beginning two books. There's more than just Tom always being there to listen and help, there's more to Aeron being high majority of the time, there's more to Tucker being the sometimes mean guy and there's more to Emmett being the prince.
A great end to the amazing trilogy✷
••••••••••••••••••••••• I've recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
So this series has had me guessing from day 1... never has any other book weighed so heavily on my mind and had me questioning EVERYTHING!
Shattered Souls is the final installment of the Harkwright series and boy does it go out with a bang!
The drama never ceases even as the students reach their final year... theres violence, murder, angst, unspoken promises, love, hate and everything in between and thats just Luna let alone anyone else! Hold on to your seats because this book is jam packed from start to finish!
Luna is my girl! Throughout the series we've seen personal growth but thats nothing compared to the Luna we see in Shattered Souls, she's fiery and angry yet shes just as loving and forgiving.
I'm not going to go on and on about Luna and her guys though because BCs writing really speaks for itself and all those questions have been answered and in all honestly the ending is absolutely amazing. I didn't want this series to end but it honestly couldn't have ended any better than it did.
This was a satisfying ending to a wonderful series. I loved Aeron, Tucker, Thallon and Emmett! I do like Darius but he didn't capture me as much as those four. I didn't expect a lot of the twists and turns that were finally revealed so it kept me intrigued throughout! Thallon's whole journey with Luna was a rollercoaster but so happy with the ending. Tucker's big secret was so adorable and I wanted to see more interaction between them and Luna.
It will be sad to see these characters go and to not get another book in this series but this is probs my new favourite series by BC Morgan! I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a bully romance with mystery and drama. A definite must read for any RH fan.
I honestly don't know what I should rate this book. ****I did edit this review 24 hours after reading it when I had time to actually think clearer; that's at the bottom of this review***
The concept of the book series as a whole - five stars; but it didn't really live up to it's potential. I feel like it almost went downhill from book one. This book to me felt like it almost could have been split in two so that I could have actual answers for things instead of just what I felt like was quick fire information for the entire book.
I feel like this book was just shot after shot of something happening and not even big things but - things that I still wanted more context of or at least wanted to see how people reacted more about it.
The addition of - Belle, Rachel and Sophie made Tucker even more human and lovable that he had been. I mean it was clear there was always something more to him - but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I had wondered why there was such a big deal made of his 'niece' so I'll admit this twist didn't shock me.
Emmet - I mean it's funny that he is the 'main' guy when I truly forget he exists 90% of the time.
Aer - is still probably fighting for my favorite spot with Tucker. I feel like Aer did fuck up but he never took it out on her if that makes sense?
Australia was an interesting twist, I liked that we at least got to see his conversations with Sir - so we knew what he was actually there to do / didn't just have to hate him when we watched it play out without any prior knowledge or context.
The Tom betrayal got me - I mean I maybe should have questioned why he was seemingly so good to her but even I was a little taken back at the bonfire scene.
Honestly a part of me feels like so much happened in this book yet at the same time nothing happened. Oh wait the other big 'twist' was Poppy. The minute Australia opened his mouth I knew that Poppy was well - who she was, the Cole element of it was interesting!
Ending : I mean it wasn't the worst ending of a book I've ever read but did it satisfy me and make me glad that I started reading the series in the first place? No. Truly I'm talking myself down to a two star the more I type.
REVIEW 24 hours after reading - including MAJOR spoilers
Okay now that I had time to think - I feel like NOTHING got resolved in the end? I'm not saying that in the 'I need everything fixed' way but like so much was left up in the air?
- Cole killed Rachel and just everyone skips over that?
- Luna killed Sir and I get the framed Cole but like there is zero repercussions? We don't get to know how it affected her? what life looks like for her now BECAUSE of that?
- If Sir is dead did that mean everything just automatically went to Emmet even though it was in the original clause that he had to be married? If so how is he handling that life now that he's a changed man because of Luna or did he spiral when she said no?
- Tallon, I mean he just walked away from her without stopping to consider something had to be truly wrong for her to just walk away? He seemed like one of the few men who had some level of emotional intelligence so this was a lot down
- Aer : I mean you're telling me his mom was fine with him just giving up his future to become a mechanic? How did this happen? what was the fall out? How BADLY did he spiral when Luna walked away? I mean how did he even survive it?
- Tucker : How did it go from her saying no to the guys and her not being able to face any of them to being able to just Marry tucker? I mean choosing her to get married to made sense because of Belle but I mean how did they even get anywhere near there?
- Darius : I mean what do I even know about this man? You're sayin because they had sex what once and then he witnessed her killing a man he just suddenly became her favorite and they're super close now??
- What was the fall out of her finally facing Poppy? Her mother? I mean she just left I get it but after reading how many pages of those books you're telling me I don't deserve to see her stand across from her mother and ask her what the fuck happened?
- What happened to Cole?
- Also how did this book not end with all of them coming together to disassemble a school that almost destroyed the woman they loved? I know Em made a comment about it earlier but like how did this story not end with them finding a way to take out a system that clearly they now know because of the versions of themselves Luna gave them hope of becoming - know is fucked up?
I truly just feel like this book was a big chunk of nothing happening and I'm left with more questions then answers.
WAIT also if Sir is dead what happened to the empire? to the family name? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
***before I took time away to think I had this book at a 3 star and now I hate to do it but I'm taking it down to a two. This concept had SO SO SO much potential!!!
I don’t want this world to end! If you have made it to this last book, you can understand why seeing these characters close up their stories. BC Morgan simply blew me away with the beautiful writing for this book.
Shattered Souls is such a bittersweet book, by finally being able to get some answers to being sad it’s over and you aren’t getting to read more from these characters. This story continues from where it was left off in the previous book in the series. There are so many more twists in turns in this book that it has you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you get the answer to one question, you have so many more questions that need answered. I cried happy tears, I cried sad tears, I was shocked, I was breathless, all from this extraordinary book! The emotions are so strong not only coming from the characters but how it will make you feel. This book has taught me a lot and shown me that love can be strong enough and that it’s okay to stand up for what you believe. I could go on forever just saying how much I love this book and series!!
The characters were even more so amazing than the previous books. You get to know these characters more and more. You get to see them develop into what you hoped to see. Luna becomes so much stronger. This book definitely shows how much has changed for her and how selfless she is. The guys each have their own growth that they overcome all because of how they care for Luna.
I seriously don’t know what I’m gonna do now that this series is over. I am proud to say it is one of my favorites and I’ll be in love with it forever. It will be one I continue to reread. Thank you BC Morgan for writing this world and showing the beauty of love and how powerful it is. I highly recommend this book if you’ve read the previous ones in the series. If you haven’t started the series yet, definitely go do so!!
4 Amazing-End-to-the-series Stars! I am so going to miss the guys and Luna.
The Harkwright Trilogy is a unique RH Romance. From the first book, I was completely hooked to the story. The mystery behind the Harkwright family, Luna's own 'legacy', the twists and turns in all the three books, kept me on my toes.
Book 3 begins with Luna going on a retreat with the guys. The murderer is still out there, and Luna is his target. We don't know what Sir's intentions are, and there's a new guy in school, waiting to create a hell for Luna and the guys. Then there is the Harkwright Academy politics. The guys are all bound by their own rules, and Luna now belongs to the dangerous Harkwrights of all. How will they protect her? What are they willing to do?
I so enjoyed the unraveling of all the mystery and suspense! One of the best things about Shattered Souls is that we get the POV of all the guys! I loved getting to know and understand their intentions and thoughts. They are all amazing in their own ways, but their end goal was the same - protect Luna from all the danger.
The twists and turns - I so did not see the betrayal coming. It is so funny because I was rooting for that character since the first book. My heart broke for Luna. Tucker, Emmett, Aeron are my favourites. I enjoyed seeing their character development and the romance between them and Luna. Each has a different bond with her.
Luna is an amazing character. Her personality has evolved a lot. From being nervous about every little thing to standing up for herself and defeating the enemy, I truly enjoyed getting to know her. The journey that she is in, the things she went through, made me respect and love her character a lot.
The ending was predictable, but still managed to keep me engaged!
I so recommend this series to all the New Adult/RH/Bully Romance readers! The trilogy is very addictive and you'll probably devour them whole in a couple of days ;)
"I shattered my soul, and lost a piece of it that I will never be able to reclaim"
I truly don't know where to start with this review. I have highlighted so many lines in this book like the one above because they resonated so strongly with me. Shattered Souls is an apt title for this book of so many things happen that have caused a piece of my heart to splinter off. I have loved Luna from the very beginning and that's not an easy feat for a character. Something about her calls to me. She is one of the strongest leads I have seen, even though it's not readily apparent at the start. The men in the book both infuriate me and have me cheering for them. 3/4 through the book, I still couldn't decide who was worthy and who got their just desserts. It broke my heart to admit that some of them are just terrible and completely unredeemable. All the secrets from the previous books, as well as the ones from this one, finally revealed themselves. Some in ways I would have never guessed. That's what makes this a 5 star book. It keeps you on the edge the entire book and then bam, it sews you back up and leaves you reeling. A completely satisfying conclusion to series that has seen me cry and cheer. Luna's story is one I will treasure and reread again because it's just that fantastic.
"I told you, the fun was only just beginning, welcome to year three."
This book ruined me, in the best ways possible.
Luna's story ends in a conclusion of epic proportion that had me cussing, in a way that Luna would not be proud of, crying, and on the edge of my seat. Compared to other books, this one is a multi POV that allows an in depth look into other characters. It offers a unique perspective to this year that draw you into the story in a whole new level.
As with previous years, there are the elements of what it means to be an Academy girl, and a Harkwright girl. Is there a difference really? What more could possibly happen to a claimed girl?
Every time I thought I had this story figured out, BC Morgan threw a wrench in there and blew my mind. Be prepared the unexpected!
"Head meet bomb, because it just exploded!"
Every now and then you find a story that grips your mind, takes root in your heart, and refuses to leave your mind. The Harkwright Trilogy did just that for me. I fell in love with the Harkwright boys, and the asses that they are, they wrecked me!
"We don't pretend to be good guys, we're proud to be assholes."
I promise, you do not want to miss the absolutely thrilling end to this unique story!!
BC Morgan has certainly shattered my soul with this book!! I loved every book and every page of Luna. This character was so unique to me. She may not have known how to be around others or be a friend, but she was strong and knew right from wrong and didn't take anyone's crap even if that meant putting her in danger. Luna's character really grows into her own and I loved seeing her life come full circle. This book gave me a lot of heartache, screaming matches and swoon worthy moments that will have me rereading this series again and again. I was shocked throughout this series, but I was floored by a few of the characters in this book. (Your not getting any spoilers from me) This series is truly one of a kind and is a must read!! I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters and I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that BC Morgan will surprise us with an extended epilogue.
I am blown away by this final book. There's so much going on and I loved it. It's a huge book, filled with hot scenes, emotional revelations and even more shocks that I didn't expect. I absolutely loved all the guys with Luna. They each have their own personality and their scenes with Luna were exciting and so unique to each of them. I loved the events and adventure that we got in this final book. I was worried about where Morgan was going to end this, but I was surprised in the best of ways. That ending had me among and swooning. Absolutely perfect. The trials and growth of what Luna has to endure made this book the best of the series. What a wild ride!
This is an amazing book that must be read and once you start you will not be able to put it down. It moves along at apace that makes for an enjoyable read not being too fast nor too slow. The characters are amazing and you will fall in love with them no matter what and the story once you start you cant put it down until you are finished. This book is a must read and needs to be on your TBR list.
So much action and mystery to this final book. I couldn’t put it down until the end. Luna and her men find themselves fighting an questioning things around them. They suspect something is being done to set Luna up for failure. Truths come out that are painful and hard to accept. Will Luna over come her problems and graduate from the academy in one piece?
This book is the final book in the series and OMG!!! Luna is starting her 3rd year and this year means everything. So much happened in this book. We find out who the strangler is. This book gave you answers and gave us more questions. Every question was answered. Then ending was perfect! I hope we might get an novella just to keep these in my live.
Book 3 starts with the retreat. Tucker is booted from the academy and engaged to Rachel by Arthur. Luna's claim is given to Thallon, a new spy sent by Arthur to replace Shane. While at the retreat, Luna wakes up on a raft in the middle of the rapids and almost dies AGAIN. She loses 2 weeks to a coma and Emmet, Aaron, and Tom are committed to protecting her from further murder attempts. Thallon's pretty terrible to Luna and isolates her from everything. He makes her into his pet, she has to sit at his feet and he humiliates her. It soon becomes clear that Thallon hates Luna's sister, Poppy, and blames her for everything that transpired when he was previously at the academy. Luna has no idea that the men know about her sister and finds out when Emmet yells at Thallon. We also discover why Aaron, Tom, and Tucker hate each other because of Tucker's baby mama and fiance Rachel. She's a bit of a psycho and pits the men against each other, sleeping with all three during her time at the academy.
While attending Shane and Roz's wedding, Thallon and Luna bond a bit. Thallon slowly starts to realize that Luna is nothing like her sister and actually has no idea that Poppy is evil. He still has to torture her per Arthur, but starts being conflicted about it. It also becomes clear that Arthur is obsessed with Luna bc he was obsessed with her mother, Selena Starr, during her time at the academy. We find out more about Luna's backstory.
Luna's love and the men's remain ambivalent until the end. This book is a true slow burn. Luna doesn't want to become a Hawkwright, she still thinks the family and Arthur are evil, though she is coming around to some of the men.
Tom spoilers:
Luna and Thallon start hooking up even though he still has to destroy her for Arthur. When Thallon goes to far, his claim is dropped and Luna finally goes to Emmet. It also comes out that the only way Emmet can inherit the company is if he marries a legacy, ie. Luna. Emmet realizes he can't protect Luna by himself. Tucker returns after Rachel is found dead. Luna's harem starts to form: Aaron, Tucker, Emmet, and Thallon. They all try to figure out who the stalker is and who is murdering the women. None of the men think they can do the harem long term. Only Aaron really sees it as a possibility but only if Darius can join. Aaron becomes a secret keeper like his mother and takes her down with her own secret. We find out the men think Cole is evil and that Cole knew who Poppy was prior to her becoming his patient.
And the murderer is
And the final harem is
The epilogue was really interesting and I love how she keeps you guessing to the last minute on the final harem. Spoilers for those that can't wait:
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
i had so much fun with this series and i’m so sad it’s over but i’m also very content with how most things wrapped up!! I related a lot to Luna and so i found it very easy to be in her head & to get lost in the story. i appreciated seeing all of the characters grow and change and it was just lots of fun!!
this series was like a fked up nsfw version of the selection + gossip girl and pretty little liars and i loved it <3
I do not understand how authors can write an epic series and somehow manage to screw up the story in the last few percent or worse, in the epilogue.
This book was perfect in its execution until it started falling apart at the bonfire and went off the rails at the Last Ball. It was all downhill from there. Luna’s character had come so far and reached such a good place, and then, yeah... the travesty of a plot twist that should have been left out entirely IMHO. There were so many other ways that entire section could/should have gone down that wouldn’t have killed the story.
It was amazing to see her grow through this book and to see her guys grow as well. Not gonna lie though, I’m 100% #teamsin and #teamthallon I never really was a fan of Emmet and for some reason I had trouble connecting with Tucker as well. Darius we just never see enough of. I truly wish she had dedicated more time to the relationship with Thallon. Both during the story and in the epilogue. I believe he and Luna both were done a disservice with the final representation of how things went for them.
All that being said however, the twists, drama, bullying were all on point until nearly the end, so it’s worth reading to finish the series. 3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️
I so wanted to enjoy this series, and the story line has such potential, but the delivery wasn’t great, with many of the OMG moments being ruined by the glaringly obvious build up. The editing also needs work - lots of spelling mistakes and sentences that aren’t phrased right/don’t come across well etc. I wouldn’t comment at the odd mistake - we all make them - but as the book continued, the high recurrence detracted from the story and on some cases made in impossible to understand what was being said/felt in that scene.
Having said all that, I still read the series in its entirety because I had to know what happened in the end. The storyline is an intriguing and engaging concept that captures your attention and stays with you once you’re finished.
This has been an amazing series and I'm sad that it is over. This book had again, so many twists and turns that I would never have expected or even expected after the event had taken place. Luna has begun year 3. Her last and final year. all she has to do is make it to the end of the year and she is free. but something inside her doesn't want it to end, as she knows she will have to make a choice and decide what and how her life should really be. There are so many tense moments in this book, that it keeps you on the edge of her seat. Amazing series. I can't wait to see what BC Morgan has inshore for us next.
Love love love the end of this series! I’m so sad it’s over though. This was an interesting ride and this book ended up being my favorite in the series.
I was shocked at some of the revelations and pleased at some of the others of which i had theorized on. Luna is such a special character, i really loved how she was vulnerable and sweet, innocent even, but still able to stand up for herself occasionally. I love how it shows you don’t always have to have a kick ass, super tough FMC, because everyone is tough in their own ways.
The guys, ahhhhh. Aeron really stepped up in this one. I loved seeing more from him, and seeing so many POVs. Tucker was such a sweetheart and i love him opening up to Luna. Emmet took some time but he got there. I thought he’d have a little more vulnerability. I don’t feel like i got to know Darius enough, that would be one of my cons. I love how he stepped up for her though, anytime she needed it. Thallon was a welcome surprise! And Tom.... 🙂🙃
This book was long but it didn’t feel overwhelming. I love some more details that we got. There were some time jumps that i wish i could’ve gotten to see through more (i just loved watching their relationships develop!)
The ending took me by surprise, no doubt. This was definitely a part where i wish for a novella on what happened between the guys POVs. I am such a softie for time apart (i love to be sad i guess), and this really did make me tear up lol.
The writing was stronger in this one than the previous two! Definitely more Americanized dialogues than the other two, which i appreciated. Overall I’m super impressed and sad to see these characters go! I’ll gladly take whatever else there is!
The action you find in the book start to finish reminds me of all the top action thriller films with twists and turns at ever chapter and with hotness and love thrown in. when you think you have a grasp of what’s happening then bam! Another secret is thrown your way that you just didn’t expect!! Luna has grown so much through the books, she’s soft and gently but she also has steel in her soul, she’s been repeatedly hurt by others yet she still chooses love and forgiveness and that is what makes a truly strong person, as for my guys, the growth is there too and it’s clear and easy to see but it’s also not instant, you take the journey with them, it’s amazing to see. this book broken me, fixed me and broken me again, the ending was truly perfect and fits with the personality of each of my guys and I don think any other ending would of fit, I’m going to miss this series, I will go back and re read it many times but reading for the first time of any good book is magical. bc is a word warrior and she slays the words, action and sex scenes in the book, I honestly couldn’t of asked for more, every book she writes has a special something and I always say her next is my fav but that just shows the growth of her writing skills cos this book blow every book I have read in 2020 out of the water, deffo missing out of this book is not at the top of your 2br list!
3.75⭐️ - for me, the ending was like a 5x FF in comparison to the rest of the plot. While I enjoyed what was given during the last few chapter(s)/epilogue, I wanted it to be at least 5 times more developed and go significantly further in detail as well as span of time it was covering. There were a lot of things lacking closure, which I assume is intentional if there’s spin-off series’ being developed.
I guess the ending was a let down mostly for the lack of details the entire series was based on. If an author goes for 300 chapters about the corruption in the family, birth family, adopted family, the MMC’s dynamic as a whole, the damn bakery FFS… NO details of it… as a reader, it truly sucks.
Now in my critique while being critical as a reviewer of all kinds of romance novels: I very much dislike these types of endings because I question whether or not the ending was vague intentionally (if planning on a spinoff that could help close the plot gaps eventually), or if it was between a deadline needed by a publisher or if the author got lazy and rushed the ending to get it over with. I’ve seen books do all three at once, tbh, so I can only say time will tell what the real intent was. I really hope for the spinoff theory, as I really did enjoy this series.

I was looking forward to this book, yet not! I was looking forward to see what happened next but at the same time knowing we were approaching the end. I just knew it was going to be epic. And BC did not disappoint.
You get the answers you are looking for, plus some more twists and turns. Which BC is known for. Every time I thought I knew how thins were going to go, bam it went another direction. Also be prepared to be all over the place emotionally. You will be mad, you will want to cry, you will rage and you will feel happiness.
But that is what makes BC such a great author, the ability to make you feel all kinds of emotions while reading of the characters and the world she has written. I have followed her from the beginning and I can honestly say she just keeps getting better and better.
If you have not read this series yet, it is one I highly recommend you do. If you have, this is the ending you have been waiting for.
This is the last book in this series and a majorly thick book 200,000 that I demolished in no time. It was so good that I didn't even realize how long it was and very good. This is an amazing story about this fantasy/contemporary world of a Bachelor-style university, where 50 young women are made available to 15 men of a select, elite family. This book starts with Luna going on a retreat. The murderer is still out there, and Luna is his target. Sir's intentions are unknown and he creeps me out. There's a new guy in school whose mission is to create hell for Luna and the guys. There is always a lot of Harkwright Academy politics at play too. It is not a dull moment in this book or series.
I loved this series, I enjoy the duo POVs and trying unraveling of all the mystery. I loved getting to hear everyone's thoughts especially the guys and trying to understand their motives. As you read the series you get a better understanding of what is going on and who is the puppet behind many of the guy's actions. Everything isn't what it seems and this book unravels everything and we finally get it.
There are many twists and turns throughout this book. Luna is an amazing character who grows and develops throughout this series. She is like a scared mouse at the beginning of the series and grows to a fierce lion standing up for herself and defeating the enemy.
The end of an incredible series. Luna has seen so much heartbreak, been subjected to bullying and almost died...and this year isn’t any easier. The book eased us back into her life at the academy, and the darkness and lies that the boys and Arthur have been hiding. Their lies, family lies, Selene, and what really happened to Luna’s sister. There’s so much in this book, and I was sucked right in and held captive thruout the story. I never knew what to expect, how the story would end, and I couldn’t predict a darn thing...and it was amazing. I was in shock and pins and needles right up until the last page. It’s not often that I have no idea what is going to happen, and I can’t predict a darn thing.
BC Morgan is a genius. Bravo...Luna gets her HEA...and you’ll never see it coming. Th
