Mythic Creature Trainer
The king’s dragon trainer is fired for accidentally unleashing a mutating corruption on the royal stables. Now, he must save his job and his reputation by finding a long-lost cure before the advancing orc horde takes advantage of this new weakness in the kingdom’s defenses.
The main character in Mythic Creature Trainer is Ulrick. He loves his pet griffin and takes him everywhere. Ulrick is always trying to get his housemate, Felka to help him out of a tight spot. She's a palace sentinel: an elite force of king's guards. Felka doesn't really care if Ulrick succeeds or fails, but she'll pitch in when it suits her.
Ulrick's boss is not all that he seems. Kevin the goblin has his own plans, and he's willing to throw Ulrick under the bus to get there. Ulrick will discover the hard way that approval from others isn’t the most important thing in life. There are characters in the story that will stand at different points on this spectrum: some crave approval and status, while others shun it and do what they feel like, without regard for others.
Will Ulrick save the city and his reputation? More importantly, will he stay a total flake or become a towering pillar of integrity?
