USA TODAY Bestselling author Kathy Ivan can’t remember a time when books and reading weren’t a part of my daily life. I was blessed with a mother who instilled the love of reading in me at a young age. That progressed into a passion for the written word in all forms, which led to my writing. Every day I have new stories and new ideas roaming through my brain, the characters chomping at the bit for their turn to be front and center and have their story told. Today that love of storytelling translates into my desire to write and share my stories with others. I write in many genres, but I’m currently concentrating on romantic suspense and paranormal.

My day job is about as uncreative as it gets. I do medical transcription, spending numerous hours at the computer each day trying to decipher the mumbled, garbled and often unrecognizable words the physicians are dictating, in an effort to make a complete and comprehensive patient record. It’s almost as bad as trying to read their handwriting!

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I’ve lived in various places throughout my youth, from California to Hawaii and back to Florida (Key West), before finally settling in Texas. I make my home outside Dallas, Texas with my spoiled black lab (Missy).

I am a member of Romance Writers of American and the Dallas Area Romance Authors (DARA), where I’m an active member; you can find me at the local meetings each month.

That’s about it off the top of my head. I love talking with other readers and writers, so feel free to contact me.

Another great addition to the Boudreau series! This book grabbed my attention from the get-go and held it to the end. Heath and Camilla are great together and I enjoyed getting to see the Boudreau family again. If you're looking for a romance with some mystery and suspense thrown in, give this book a try.

Heath is the sixth book in Kathy Ivan’s Texas Boudreau Brotherhood. In this book we meet romantic suspense writer Camilla “Cam” Stewart and Heath Boudreau, an ATF special agent. Camilla Stewart is Beth Stewart’s sister-in-law. She gets shot in her arm and is taken to the ER. Hospital authorities contact Beth who in turn contacts Heath. Heath heads to North Carolina to come to Camilla’s aide. Will Heath find out who is behind Camilla’s shooting? Will they find out why it happened? Will Camilla and Heath acknowledge their growing attraction? Will they find happiness? You must read this book to discover their story.

I enjoyed the way Ms. Ivan creates her characters. They are multi-layered. I appreciate how she reveals their dreams, strengths, and vulnerabilities. She allows readers to journey along with her characters as they work out their fears and challenges. I am fascinated how Ms. Ivan includes different brothers into her plot. Doing so allows readers to get to know each of the Boudreau brothers and appreciate this tight knit family. Ms. Ivan masterfully created a two-prong character-driven plot. One prong focuses on Camilla Stewart and the mystery behind her shooting. The second prong focuses on Shiloh and his growing feelings for Camilla. Ms. Ivan brilliantly weaves these two prongs together to create this suspenseful romantic plot.

I also appreciated Ms. Ivan's use of literary devices such as point of view, dialog, backstory, and descriptive language. Through the dialog and their internal dialog readers are provided an opportunity to get to know them better, to understand their personalities and to get their backstories. I also appreciated the way Ms. Ivan differentiated between the dialog between characters and the internal dialog by offsetting the text in italics. I also thought it was interesting how she depicted text conversations between Heath and his family.

I was intrigued with the way she used point of view. She shifts between third person point of view and a dual point of view approach. The third person point of view provides the backstories. In this story, particularly, we learn more about the secret life of Camilla’s elderly neighbor. We also witness how both Camilla and Heath’s characters evolve. In so doing this, she endears with her readers. Additionally, Ms. Ivan's use of descriptive language vivid and realistic scenes. If you want to read a suspense romance, then you should read this one. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Happy Reading!

Overall Amanda rating: A
So I have been looking forward to this book throughout this series. I am a huge fan of the “bad boy” vibe. Not that Heath is a bad boy, he is just tall, mysterious, and walking perfection. I have seen pieces of his character coming and going on his motorcycle 😍😍 and my heart has been doing it’s Heath dance from the first mention of his name.
Enter Camilla: they are fire and ice. Their first meeting it was an opposites attract yet also make each other so angry. I almost get an Anthony and Kate (Bridgerton) vibe from this couple.
This story is really good. I feel that their story was not as exciting as others. When the evil man is revealed I just expected more throughout the earlier parts so show his evil. Someone that evil and dark wouldn’t have been that easy to get away of safely. And with his connections he would have found her so much quicker.
Once again Mama is my favorite character. She is my spirit animal. 😁

I am really enjoying this series. On to the next book.

Heath ties with Rafe and Brody for ratings. Maybe a little higher. At least Heath and Camilla had some chemistry. Sometimes their banter was cute. Other times, the dialogue was so cringe it was painful.

The mystery was kind of interesting. It was weird there was only that one point in the book where the killer was talking to the person searching for Cam. Then the killer was absent until the ridiculous ending. I also didn't understand the point of the school situation. It seemed pretty useless to me. I know Heath was ATF, but how was he going to come into town and seemingly take over Rafe's job? Also, carrying the threat of Rafe losing his job was not enticing enough for me to continue reading the series.

But, I have 2 books left and I'm expecting them to be more of the same damsel in distress, instalove, etc. I have to admit I do like the small town vibe and sense of community. The audiobook's narration wavered between average and outright frustration, struggling to hold my attention or interest through many parts of the book.

Heath bk 6 (Texas Boudreau Brotherhood series)
This book series follows the boudreau family and how they find love.. Each brother has a dark past which you will find out about by reading each book.. This is a Closed Romance series with just kissing

This book Follows Heath and how he finds love and also you will get to learn more about his past in this book.. I enjoyed this book a lot and i am looking forward to book 7 that follows Shiloh in the series.. Each book follows a different brother in the series..

Heath works as a ATF and he lives away from home.. He loves his family and always looks out for them.. He Flirts for fun with everyone because he does not want to let anyone get close to him because he has been hurt a lot growing up that is until he meets The Boudreau Family and then his life changed for the better.. Always there for anyone that needs help.. He misses his family a lot and one day that he comes back home for a visit he starts to see that he wants to be closer to home.. When he is home and walks into the kitchen he can see that his soon to be sister in-law is upset and he is about to ask if she is ok until she looks at him and tells him that camilla has been hurt which makes him tell everyone that he will take care of everything.. Then he flys over to see camilla and to see whats going on.. He Protects Camilla and also shows her how he feels

Camilla is a Romance Author.. She is not close to her family and she has been hurt in the past.. She loved her brother until he tried to hurt Tessa and Beth which made her heartbroken because she looked up to her brother.. She loves beth & jamie and will always call them her family because she is more close to her niece Jamie and Beth than she is to her family.. she still sees Beth as a sister even if beth is not with her brother anymore.. Its sweet to see that the Boudreau family looks out for Camilla.. She still thinks about Heath since the last time she seen him then after she gets hurt and wakes up to see Heath she is surprised.. She falls even more for him and ends up showing him how she feels

The Strong family Relationship in these books between the brothers, sister and their mum and dad is amazing and you can feel how much love the Boudreau family have for each other and how much they try to help anyone that needs help which is so sweet.. The brothers in this series you will met are Rafe, Antonio, Brody, Ridge, Lucas, Heath, Shiloh, Chance, Liam, Dane and you will also met their sister called veronica.. This series is a small town Texas setting with romance, mystery, cowboys and a lot more.. There is some small talk of the lost boys which are the ones that did not or could not make in the Boudreau Family..

I liked that when heath met Camilla a while ago because she was visiting her Niece and Beth that's when he started to like her so he tried everything to not get close but once he heard from Beth that Camilla got hurt he drop everything and went to be by her side which i thought was so sweet and cute.. Swept up like a Texas tornado!

So it takes Cam being shot for Heath to pull his head out of his ass and admit his feelings! A typical Boudreau...runs away from his feelings but as soon as there is danger runs straight towards it! Crazy!
Once again we are welcomed back to the Big House with loving arms that sweep you in and hold you close, I have loved all the books in this series so far and Heath and Cam didn't disappoint here either. Please don't keep us waiting too long for the next in the series.

Heath and Camilla

There was an attraction from the start. Heath just couldn't stop teasing her. He loved the reaction. Camilla didn't understand why he treated her differently. Long distance romance wasn't for him so Heath decided not to pursue her. But when he heard she had been shot he flew to her side. Realizing she was the one. Now he just had to keep her safe until her memory returned. Along their journey to each other we catch up on the search for Renee. Meet Uncle Gator.
Great story looking forward to reading Shiloh

Retrograde amnesia

Camilla Stewart enchanted Heath Boudreaux when they first met. She wouldn’t admit it but she was half in love with him. Then someone shot her and her life was turned upside down. Heath enlisted the help of his uncle Gator Boudreaux in New Orleans. Camilla refused to just sit back let someone take her life away. She devised a plan to get the best of her attacker.

This book grabs you from the start and keeps you guessing to the end. The story line has suspense, mystery and a growing attraction. The characters are strong, determined individuals as Heath works to keep Camilla safe from harm. Loving the Boudreau brothers, can't wait for more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.

Loved these two lovebirds(?)

While reading this I was worried there would be more bloodshed than kisses. Heath & Camilla started out as better sparing partners than lovers. During a most dire situation all that high voltage fire flamed into passionate feelings to last a lifetime. Another Boudreau brother is off the dating market!

I was mostly excited about this couple. Heath and Camellia had a good chemistry. The mystery was engaging however the reveal was underwhelming and boring. Overall it was an OK book but still I was a little bit disappointed.
So far the best book is Brody for me.
I still have the rest of the series to read 💪🏻

Another hero cowboy!

Another unputdownable story in the Texas Boudreau series! Heath has to clear a lot of obstacles to claim his Camilla, and keep her alive after a senseless shooting. What better place could they be than Shiloh Springs, surrounded by family!

Camilla is sass & smart. Heath just can't seem to help but annoy her. You sigh when he drops everything when she is hurt & he needs to keep her safe. Passion simmers between them. Boudreau home is always the safest place with so much love. Love that Rafe is a central character in all the books.

This series is soo good. Each one has an adventure and a Boudreau falling to their knees for the woman that was meant for them.
Heath works for the ATF. Camilla is a suspense romance writer. They butted heads the first time they met but neither can stop thinking about the other.
Camilla was shot and now has retrograde amnesia. Heath is at her hospital bedside as soon as he can get there. Then when they get to her apartment, they found another surprise. Now they are heading to the big house.
When they find out who is behind her being shot, will everyone follow with her plan? Is another Boudreau moving closer to home?
