Followed the last few episodes of season 2. I liked that Hilda’s mom and Hilda bonded at the end. I wonder what will happen when Hilda is transformed into a troll.

I read it with my niece to whom I gave the book for Christmas. It's basically two different stories with almost no connection to each other, the first story doesn't really have a proper conclusion or clear moral so it gave weird vibes. My niece was super excited about the white woff but it appears for like one page, which felt pretty bad. We never read any other Hilda story and sometimes it felt like we were missing some information but nothing major. She enjoyed the story but it felt pretty underwhelming for me. The final message was nice. On the other hand, besides the stuff I already mentioned, the first part involved two groups of people caught in a loop of fighting each other, there is also a battle scene with people chopping off each other's heads. Even one of the main heroes gets his head cut off, which was definitely way out of line.

Finally, the Czech edition keeps the ad on the cover about the tie-in to the Netflix series, even though it's not on the Czech version so that was a dick move.

As a fan of the Netflix series, I can absolutely say this was a great read. And, the added sound elements in the Audiobook made it even more enjoyable. I also enjoyed how this book made some little in expansions to the world of the series and actually made some moments from the episodes better. Slight spoilers, but for example, when David regains his fear after being killed, Hilda tells him that with his fears he helps her and Frida use caution when they’re adventuring. This reinforces the idea of fear being good in some instances, the point the actual episode tries to make but doesn’t quite hit. All in all, a wonderful read and I would recommend to my fellow Hilda Fans no matter your age.

As with every audiobook in this series, I loved the full dramatisation and expansion of the show's episodes. I realised that the reason I felt these stories were getting overly busy and complicated was because they're combining multiple episodes and storylines into each book - which makes perfect sense and explains the peculiar pacing of some of them. This final one was well-balanced and fun and I'm honestly a bit sad they're all over with!

Another fun Hilda adventure!

As always, I love the audiobook versions of these novels - full cast, with sound effects & most of the original voice actors from the show reprising their roles. Absolutely fantastic.

Unfortunately, it looks like the rest of the novels have not yet been made into audiobooks so I’ll have to wait to continue the series that way.

I do like it, it's really similar to the series, but it's cool so read teh description and how it's placed on the book.

Great book. Still faithful to the series.
Sadly, it is the last one I have and is not the end of the series in comparison to the animation.

I want more.

Great narrators! Loved the Audiobook. Hilda has a habit of disobeying or ignoring her mother.
