Some things are better left unsaid. Others demand chaos. Good thing I excel at both.
Everything fell apart before we were able to pull ourselves together.
When tragedy demands my silence, I have no choice but to give it because losing a life also means saving so many more.
I finally have everything I want. Having my best friend back is a dream come true. But everything at Black Falls High comes at a price, and these boys are mine. I’d do anything for them.
Even in ruins. In silence. I’ll bring the chaos.
In Chaos is book three in The Black Falls High series, a #whychoose dark bully romance with multiple love interests. Due to dark subject matter, reader discretion is advised.

This series went from amazing to disappointing in two books.
I completely fell in love with the series In Ruins, In Silence completely shattered my heart then mended it then broke it all over, all of which made me excited for the final book in the series. When the author announced a book in the guy’s POV, I was ecstatic, I couldn’t wait to finally read many scenes from their POV and fall in love with them all over again but In Pieces fell short. There was a lot that was left unsaid that I hoped would be clarified from their perspective.
I was completely disappointed with In Chaos. I understand the journey these characters had to experience to overcome their trauma but it only prioritized the trauma of two and not how they all would come together to overcome it. I felt like the rest of the guys were just left to the side when they all have their own issues, none of which were solved. The entire book was the heroine going back and forth on her anger with herself and even the guys taking advantage of her at some point. The guys going to “deal with it” fell extremely short as nothing was ever revealed about how they were solving the issues. Even the villains fell short as only get 1 confrontation at a random point and 1 chapter as the climax, extremely disappointing, I was honestly expecting more, no closure.
At first the series was supposed to be a duet, then a trilogy, 4 books later and there will be a box set with a short novella ? There should’ve been closure at the end of the “final” book.
This was the perfect book to tie up the Black Falls High series. Everything fell into place, everyone stepped up into their roles, and all was wrapped up perfectly. This book was intense and I loved it!
Got to the end of this story. But yeah, i thought this was overall a TERRIBLE series. I skimmed pretty much all 4 books in less than 2 days. I heard the steam was incredible and wanted to read it for that alone and i concur its pretty good.
Lots of things i didnt like, but this review would be too long if i listed them all. However, the NUMBER ONE being the ow drama and semi-cheating that happens early on in this series. I usually dont mind OW drama.... BUT in this book our heroes were actively having sex with her because they were afraid of getting blackmailed.....LULZ. Bitch please...you cant make them be afraid of a dumb female teenager, AND ALSO have one of the guys come from a MAFIA family. Just no... anyways that was all in the 1st and 2nd book.
One of the more compelling reverse harem stories. As this series comes to a delightful and entertaining end, Rosie, and her guys, the four horsemen: Fox, Cole, Ethan, and Enzo find their way to each other -- but the path is riddled with obstacles and unresolved business, cunning girls, and tragedy.
Rosie finds her strength; the guys, into their roles in this polyamorous relationship with mafia ties. Some very moving moments portrayed in this story from the spectrum of a fierce Cole to a fragile Ethan. Told from the heroine's point of view, I did not feel any loss of perspective attributable to K.G. Reuss's remarkable and creative style of the writing of infusing points of view into one character. Excellent pace and woven in suspense and thrill, I could not put this story down. Steam? Yes, mature love scenes, hot yet intimate. To say I groan with envy would be an understatement.
This story comes full circle of maturity -- love, personal realization, parents, and a hint at a new romance for best friend Jamie. A favorite, strength and love transcend and unfurl for a bittersweet happy ever after.
I’ve gone back and forth on how to review this book because there was a lot going on.
The first 30% focuses on Ethan and Rosalie and their recovery and trying to cope with their lives post trauma. The conversations and emotions they experienced felt authentic and I struggled right along with them. Due to the subject matter here, I would definitely say it slowed down the pacing of this story and it got a little repetitive, but after thinking about it, I actually think it was one of the better parts of the book. Well not as good as the smut, but still good😏
This girl loves group scenes and we are treated to some gems here. Took a while to get all of them in one together but everything else leading up to that was still hot AF 🔥🌶🥵🫠💯
Once the healing phase is over and Rosalie tries to re-enter society again, of course the villains pop back up. Ian is replaced by his dad, who is even more two dimensional than he was. Juliet is still around. That bitch is cray. I mean she’s so OTT that she actually kind of grew on me. I could have done without the extra drama at the end. It escalated and wrapped up so quickly, was it even necessary? No.
I liked that Fox was still tortured about giving into Juliet’s blackmail. He hurt Rosie the worst and his guilt is his penance. But boy didn’t I melt anytime he was near her. I freaking loved these two together. 🫠
Cole was a mixed bag for me. I loved how raw and feral his emotions were. That scene in the kitchen with Rosie. Whew🥵🥵 he certainly showed his obsession the most, but could I say he truly loved her? I guess in his own way. 🤔
Poor, poor Ethan. That guy gutted me. I so loved him in this series. His backstory and struggles with addiction were difficult to read but seeing him come out stronger in the end healed my heart❤️🩹I liked that he was never a part of the Juliet storyline and freely rubbed that in the others faces 😝 His love for Rosalie was so pure and honest, but also a little too codependent🤷🏻♀️
And Enzo. The biggest mystery of the bunch. His nickname for Rosalie was my favorite. There’s just something about picturing him calling her sunshine that gave me the 🦋. He helped her the most and probably loved the most, but you wouldn’t know it for how calm he was. I really wish we got more of the two of them because Rosie really was most vulnerable with him. Gun to my head, I’d prob pick him🤭 But this is why I love RH because #whychoose
Overall I really enjoyed this series and it really hit on all the elements that I was looking for. It’s not for the faint of heart because despite all the dark triggers, you have to be ok with OW drama. This has the most of anything else I’ve read to date. It wasn’t perfect but if you like Guys who are simps for their Lady then this is a good fit. It was a little much and repetitive but in the end, made me smile more than not.
This has a HFN ending which I’m ok with. I’m nervous to read any of the other related books because I know there is a lot of future drama and I’m just not sure I want to go there again with this crew. 😮💨
I knew it would hurt before it got better, but goodness kg broke me in two. After the last book, I knew things wouldn't be sunshine and roses right away, but seeing Rosie struggle the way she did really brought tears to my eyes, and I loved how the guys were there for her through everything. Even when she blamed herself. Even when she blamed them. She is so full of anger and hurt, but it's all so beautiful too. And the way she was there for Ethan to make sure he didn't do anything reckless was just everything. These five are truly a family, and I love how they finally all realized that.
Cole is still my number one, but I love how everyone really loves one another. They've been through so much together, and it was so great to see them actually be together and be strong for one another and themselves all at once.
There's so much that goes on in this book, and it's just such an intense ride that I didn't get anything done while reading. How could I? This series consumed everything and now I'm going to go read this authors entire blacklist! I have definitely found a new favorite author!
This was a really good wrap up to the series. There were happy tears and sad tears. I swear this author has it out for me to make sure I cry each book. We got to see Ethan and Rosalie's recovery, their return to school with rampant rumors roaming the halls. More shit from Juliet and Ian's father. A new character was introduced (Spencer) who gets involved with someone and will have their own series. Rosalie and her guys finally got their happy ending, and some didn't. One character's fate was inevitable, but I still felt bad while another character's fate was 100% deserving. And of course, the spice was good. There was one sweet gesture that the guys did for Rosalie and Cole and oh my goodness it made me wanna cry. And then one scene that was just sad overall. And then one scene where I was absolutely shocked, and it was just messed up and of course it involved Juliet.
I can't wait to read the series of their story continuing while they are in college.
Favorite quotes/scenes:
-"You're a fire, baby. I've waiting my entire life to feel the heat of your flame and dance in your beautiful chaos. You're just as dangerous as I am. Probably more so." "Am I?" "You're the only person in the world who makes my heart both skip and race. Who makes my breath catch. Who makes me want to just be better. I'd say you're kind of a big deal, Rosalie. My big deal." (Enzo and Rosalie)
-"I'm going to marry you someday, Rosalie Bishop." "Promise?" "As certain as the sun will rise." (Ethan and Rosalie)
-"As hard as I tried to keep hating you, I just couldn't. You've always been under my skin. Kissing you again after all those years changed everything for me. I came home. You are my home. You're it for me, Rosalie Bishop. We belong to one another. Forever, baby. " "Forever." (Fox and Rosalie)
- (This is a spoiler with Cole and Rosalie but it's so sad and sweet)
-"You are the best thing that's ever happened to me, Rosalie Bishop. And you want to know the best thing about that?" "What?" "You just keep happening. You're the dream, baby." (Enzo and Rosalie)
- (This is a spoiler with all five of them and wow it was so sweet)
I can't tell you how much I needed this book right now. I sat in my chair bawling like a baby thru most of this book. This book is the dark, emotional read my soul has been craving over the last few weeks. I was starting to think I was no longer going to "feel" or connect with any book, after struggling thru several books, while dealing with my son's spiraling mental health. My own struggles aren't the same as the heroine of this story, but her emotions are so much like what I've been feeling myself. And as the tears started to slow down I realized some of the heaviness weighing me down seems to be lifted from my heart.
I can say that I truly was shocked by some of the plot twists made in the final book. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but it definitely caught me off guard. But it was because of those unexpected turns that I connected so much with the emotional side of this story. I'm sad to see their story come to an end. If you haven't started this series yet, grab book 1, IN RUINS, on Amazon now. This is a darker themed series and may contain triggers for some people. It is a reverse harem series.
This is the fourth book in the Black Falls Series and the first in the Chaos Universe. I did read out of order in the universe, which turned out to be fine. I throughly enjoyed the A Black Falls High series! Being the start of the universe it does start out in High school. But there is just so much plot that you will be glued to this series. It is RH and I love the main characters. The FMC is a strong red head and I just love Rosalie! This is a must read if you are looking for plot, mafia twist, RH, touch her and die, and lots of spice.
I smashed out this series in days. Absolutely loved it. Im sad it's over, but im also satisfied with how it ended. These characters had so much love and pain between them. The story line flowed well, and ill definitely be reading Jamie's story to catch a glimpse of them again!
This is my review for all the books in this series.
KG Reuss is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I read Boys Of Chapel Crest last month and loved it so when I saw that this series was on audible I was like yes please.
This series started out very light, typical high school stuff and then it went and become both heartbreaking but also very suspenseful. There's just so many things happening. I literally stopped breathing at the height of those suspenseful moments.
Ethan. Oh Ethan. I love you so much. I loved all these guys but Ethan will forever have a special place in my heart. He's like my boy Stitches, so sweet and heartbreaking. Reading has made me learn that I have a soft spot for sad, broken boys. I just want to hug them. I definitely wanted to hug Ethan, and I am not usually big on touching.
The third book in this series is only the guys pov. I thought that was very clever of the author, we hadn't gotten much from them before that so I loved the insight into their thoughts and feelings.
I loved this series and I hope to read more by KG Reuss in the future.
This book was intense! It was also what I needed, what I was waiting for. This series was an emotional rollercoaster, ups and downs, twists and turns were crazy. The heartbreak, angst, steam, oh boy, the steam was epic! The guys grew into their own, stepped into their roles, everyone played their part. Rosie and the guys stole my heart but goodness, their world was all kinds of messed up. But in the end I got what my heart desired. Thank goodness for that because I don't think I could have survived anything else. This story was a dark, trigger filled heartbreak filled with non-stop action that had me stressed out most of the time. I loved it so much, dark flaws and all. Definitely, a Five Star series for me!
Seriously. So much unfolded in this final book but man alive those 2 really got juiced. Enzo stepping up and Cole as his right hand was the perfectly delicious combo I needed. Bravo.
I had really high expectations for this book as it’s the conclusion of Rosie and her boys story. I hate to say this but, I think this fell a little flat to me. There were a lot of great moments but I just wanted more.
This book follows Rosie and the boys as they all heal from Ian. Rosie is traumatized, Ethan is a mess, Cole is terrified to have Rosie leave his sight, Fox is the fixer and Enzo is trying to keep everyone together and take care of everything. The group dynamic is finally happening as they have all committed to each other and it’s what I was waiting for. I loved that there was balance between the individual couples and the group.
One of my biggest complaints is the miscarriage. I understand why it was written in but It felt like another negative in a book full of trauma. I didnt like that we were hope about the pregnancy and then just a few pages later, the miscarriage happened. (I know that’s how it can happen IRL, that’s not my complaint) it was more that I was rooting for the pregnancy so hard that I didnt like that it happened. The way it was written and the reactions and healing from the characters was authentic and it was mentioned through out the whole book which I liked because the trauma of a miscarriage doesn’t just go away.
My second complaint was the plot. I felt like the plot didn’t come into play until the last part of the book so I was dragging through it until then. It was so annoying every time they threatened Juliet because obviously the girl wasn’t caring or worried about them. The boys claimed to have everything under control but Juliet just continued to be ridiculous. I felt that should have been handled separately from Daniel. Daniel was a good twist but I felt like we needed a little more lead up to feel the full effect.
Lastly, I hated how much the boys kept from Rosie, especially at the end. They made this big deal about being “all in” and then don’t tell Rosie that they’ve been killing? Nope. Ignorance is not always bliss especially when they people that are being killed are her own tormentors.
Overall, I’m happy with they way the storylines ended. There weren’t any loose ends or anything that left us hanging. I’m not sure I’ll continue with Jamie’s book but we’ll see!

So we come to the end of the story of Rosalie and the 4 horseman. And it's been one hell of a ride for them to get to where they are.
To say they're different people from when they started wouldn't be an understatement.
The whole series has been emotional with seriously true ups and downs that sometimes had my heart in my mouth and I'm others wanting to scratch eyes out. This last book stats true and along with it, shows the characters new personalities solidify.
I guess the main differences I thought was Coles switch from mostly a light hearted and jokey guy to having a more darker side with no reservations to dishing out punishments. But I guess after what he's been thru, it can change someone. But I think the group keeps him grounded.
The other us ethan. He's always been the sweetest, but knowing his history and then seeing his serious spiral into his personal puts of despair was heartbreaking. The first time was hard, but this time had more details and description and yeah, touching to see him grow.
The things thrown at this little love group are unbelievable... From a jealous schoolgirl to a vengeful dad, from a pregnancy to meeting the Mafia Don. Rehearsing for the school play to get a scholarship to a father trying to win the love of his child back.
Its a great series. I always thought it was aimed at the higher age of YA and still think that, but I'm way past that and I still enjoyed it! Yes it's kinda a dark romance but I'm comparison to the ones I've read recently this was on the lighter side so it was like a palette cleanser for me!!
Would recommend!!

DNF at 50% and I can’t believe it! I waited for this book to finally come out and I was so bored. I understand the reality of everything the FMC went through but it wasn’t what the rest of the series was like. This was (in the beginning of the series) all about a stretch of reality! But now we’re dealing with teen pregnancy, PTSD, and physical trauma (and then later the loss of the pregnancy). All very serious & real issues. Add on the drug abuse/addiction of one of the MMC. That’s a lot of heavy but it’s not what the rest of the series was like. I’m going to assume (hopefully) that all the issues are finally resolved... Juliet, Ian’s Dad, the mob connection, her parents, school, etc. I’m just too bored to even skim through it to find out.
Yeah, not a fan of this series AT ALL!!! It started out great and took a fast plunge into awfulness. Didn’t like the FMC and only somewhat liked 2 of the MMC. The villains would’ve been punished far sooner with the crap they pulled and if Cole and Enzo’s fathers where some kinda go up mob bosses or gang leaders, these villains would’ve been dead in book 2. I really really despise the whole I have empathy for my rapest/psycho stalker and regret that he died… ma’am he tried to cut your baby out of your body… fuck that man and the shitstorm he rode in on!!! It was just way to much trauma going on all at once and it wasn’t believable or enjoyable. I mean there was some redeeming qualities, I think… idk I just feel like I now need therapy after reading this series.
Picking up almost immediately after book 3, In Chaos is an excellent conclusion to Black Falls High that leaves you desperate for more Horsemen.
This holds up brilliantly on a reread. The story deals with the aftermath of the end of book 2 - the resulting trauma and recovery that Rosie and Ethan particularly go through. The second part of the book deals with the crew as they make decisions about their futures individually and collectively that will impact them all - as well as dealing with a couple of unresolved threats.
The entire series is highly recommended, especially if you like your romance on the charcoal side with extra crunchy trigger warnings.
I’ve been irritated with Rosalie’s concept of head in the sand to all the crap that’s gone on. She has avoided conflict, even to the point of respect to herself. There were only a couple of times where she truly stood up for herself. It wasn’t until this last book that her reticence was addressed and even lauded by one of her guys. While I did enjoy her story, I prefer a FMC with a little more backbone. I did love the guys, though Fox had to learn the hard way that sometimes drastic times call for drastic measures. Cole and Enzo had the right idea from the start (IYKYK). It will be interesting to see how much more they all grow once they get to college. I’m here for it. As always: CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!
Highly disappointed. With Enzo being in mob family, he didn't do much. All the boys kept talking about how they will make everyone pay. But all they did was cry through the whole book. The last chapter they actually manned up and did something.
My world is shattered, my emotions are all over the place and my heart feels like it’s about to explode! This book, this whole series is everything.
I’m literally messed up from reading this last book of Rosalie and her boys. From the start of this book til the end I knew it was going to mess me up. I knew it was about to wreck my whole dang world into pieces. It was all consuming and I couldn’t stop reading because I was sucked into the story like I was the main characters.
Adequate words don’t even seem possible right now because you just need to read it yourself and let the story take you away.
This is the final story in the Black Falls High series for Rosalie, Fox, Cole, Enzo and Ethan. And what a perfect ending this book was to the whole series. It simply wrapped up everything perfectly and let it fall into place. The ending was simply perfect and I’m a diehard KG Reuss fan for life. I need to read more of her books right now.
This is definitely a book series that leaves a lasting impression on you, that you’ll hold for lifetimes because it’s rocked you inside and out and you never want to forget it’s impact it had on you. You need to read this and say screw your tbr because this is why I fell in love with reading for books like these.
This is the final book in the Black Falls High series and it was fantastic! It answers the questions left from previous books and gives us a HFN ending. I can’t really talk about this book without mentioning the whole series so I am just going to sum it all up in this review.
Wow, there are not enough words to describe how much I have loved this series. The storyline is well thought out and was interesting enough to keep me riveted through all the books without feeling as though it was being dragged out. I thought the characters really developed through the books and although I love all the Horsemen I must admit Enzo was my favourite. The spice level through the whole series is spicy and gets progressively spicier with each book, there are some really heavy themes throughout but I thought they were all very well written. Overall this is one of my favourite why choose series I have read to date and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone that likes this genre of book.
omg, i loved this series so much. i really hope it continues... and me saying that, is something because, if you have been paying attention, i hate reading a series that isn't complete. I am not one of those "leave them wanting more" kinds of ppl but, in this case, hell yeah!
If you are one of the ppl that actually follows my reviews, please, take my advice, read this series!
It's RH and they really utilize their time together but, that said, there is so much more going on than just sex... trust me, totally worth the read!
This one was the most intense yet! The craziness just didn’t end! Things would get better then boom! Something else would happen. Throughout this series Rosalie grows so much and the horseman become so devoted and in love with her. Meeting a new characters was really nice. The ending was so crazy but so perfect! All the crazy psychos got exactly what they deserved. I’m so in love with this series and excited to see the characters cross over into the next series 🖤
Enzo, u suck. Just because someone likes a little pain with their pleasure doesn't give u the right to continue when someone says no/ give them a minute. You are not a Dom. You're a little peep squeek who goes to high school.
I can't believe shes still letting them video her after they had all that trouble with the last videos! Stupid girl! Dumb dumb dumb.
