GHOSTS

Rate this book
This collection was originally published in 2011 as an Ebook only. The title was A Collection of Short Ghost Stories. I've now written two additional stories, revised the original tales, had a fresh cover designed, and the updated work is available as both an Ebook and in print. Ghosts—the scary things that go bump in the night, those unseen entities that send a shiver down our spine—take many forms. Some are impressions of strong emotions that remain imprinted on a place for years. Others are energies that cause creepy feelings or outright terror. Some spirits can’t let go and move on, while others seek revenge for past wrongs done to them. Many are trapped in confusion of time and place. We wish ghosts could tell us their stories, and in this book, they do. WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN? A woman healing from trauma seeks solace in a seacoast manor and encounters three spirits needing help to right a wrong done long ago. RETURN OF THE SHREW A husband schemes to rid himself of his nagging wife, but she won’t leave easily. BORN IN THE CAUL A baby is born “in the caul” and a superstitious midwife warns there are those who would do anything to possess it. LONESOME COWBOY Lucky in life but lonesome in death, a cowboy shares the strange story that led to his wandering a ghost town. SIREN An innocent man is drawn into the mesmerizing song of a siren—a 300-year-old ghost bent on avenging her murder. THE WISHING WELL An orphan’s wish could destroy a father and his young daughter’s fresh start. THE BRIDE’S GAME A newlywed encounters a malevolent ghost who forces her to play a terrifying game of treasure hunt. MIRROR IMAGE A burn victim meets the Good Samaritan who provided comfort in her time of need and learns the true meaning of beauty, sacrifice, and eternal love.

Stacey Coverstone wrote her first novel in 2006 after an inspiring week at Cowgirl Camp in New Mexico, a gift from her husband for earning her master’s degree. When that western romance was quickly accepted for publication, there was no looking back. She now writes in a variety of genres, including Gothic suspense, ghost stories, historical and contemporary western romance, humorous fiction, lighthouse stories, and more. She is also a freelance fiction editor.

Stacey and her husband call the charming lakeside town of Mount Dora, Florida home, where she is HR Manager and Special Events Manager at the historic (and some say haunted) 1883 Lakeside Inn. She enjoys the beach, bicycle riding, camping, traveling, reading, photography, and spending time with her family.

Stacey Coverstone has written a wonderful collection of ghost stories. These stories will give you a fright if not a good scare. The endings leave you in a good and heartwarming place. I loved these stories.

"Return of the Shrew" and "The Wishing Well" were probably my favourites, but this whole collection of ghost stories was delightfully scary and spooky. Ms. Coverstone is a wonderful writer and knows how to tell an engrossing tale even in a short story format. Good job, Stacey!
