Call Me Daddy

Rate this book
Julian doesn’t expect one phone call to turn his life upside down, but this summer nothing goes quite as planned.

While covering a phone line for a sick friend, an alluring voice awakens a new desire in Julian which he hides from everyone, including his best friend - because some things are just wrong, right? - but as his attraction grows stronger, Julian wonders how much longer he can keep denying his feelings. Not just to his nosy and much too perceptive bestie, but to the one person who can never know. The one he's not supposed to want.

Call Me Daddy is a 50,000 word m/m romance novel full of humor and heat, with a satisfying happy ever after.

Note: This version has been expanded from the original short story.

My dad’s most secret fantasy, his deepest, darkest desire was… me.

O.M.G. This was legit the most taboo book I've ever read! 🙈

Also, the phone sex in this one? Holy smokes 🔥💥

I don’t know what it says about me that I like this book. 🤷🏽‍♀️
I did find it a little strange that it was the dad lusting after the son longer. But he never did anything and made sure not to touch him so that’s a win in my book. I thought they were really cute and let’s not forget super hot. Also Andy and Julian were funny and snarky and I was loving it. His daddy was sweet and kind and sexy and funny and I loved him. It was a cute book I and recommend if you’re into those kind of things.

This was very, very sexy. And very, very taboo. If that's not your thing, then don't read it, it's easy as that.

You have to suspend some beliefs to be on board with the HEA for Julian and his Daddy, but it was so ridiculously romantic and sweet, I still loved it. I just adored Julian and how lively he was, how hilarious his inner thoughts could be, and how sweet he was.

And the little bonus epilogue was hella hot, too.

Cute and funny, and filled with all kinds of clever pop culture references (just like a 20 year old would write it). I enjoyed Honey London's writing style, it flows beautifully and the pace is lickety split and never slows down. Especially if you treat yourself to the bonus Christmas story on BookFunnel... non-stop action.

" I just want my Boppa to love me the way that I love him"

I don't even care. This was cute asf, probably my new favorite incest book. The pining on both ends had me stressy depressy, but the part where dad found out it was Julien on the calls and confronted him...Ohmygosh, my heart was freaking squeezing. The way she wrote it had me all up in my feels.

"I made you, and I made this perfect little hole, so it belongs to me."
🫣
"Fighting the urge to drop to my knees in front of him and worship the cock that made me"
💀absolutely filthy

I have to add that they're both dumb asf... how did you not know 🙄

2.5 stars?

I don’t know if any of these are spoilers since it’s very clear what the book is about, but here ya go...

The book starts with Julian replacing his friend as a phone sex worker, and we get an incredibly hot delicious phone sex scene right at the start. When the client wants Julian to call him daddy, he is into it. When the client calls him son, Julian is REALLY into it. So was I. 🔥

Julian is hilarious and completely freaked out. But sadly, nothing else happens...Julian and his dad are basically fantasizing about each other and trying to hide it.

And I couldn’t get into the dad’s POV. Why would a father move all the way across the country and think it was good for his son? And the fantasies about Julian when they reconnected seemingly came out of nowhere and were not very believable.

I would have liked more angst. More action. Just more. Maybe it’s coming, but I’m bored already.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

“So, you know my name, but I don’t know what to call you.” I was shocked to realize I was throwing a little pout into my voice with no effort at all. For once I wasn’t pretending to be sexy. I just felt sexy.
“Call me Daddy.”

✔️ hottest phone sex ever
✔️ taboo!! relationship
✔️ delicious dirty talk
✔️ filthy sex

❌ what was that with all the pop culture references?? it was annoying

“Baby, I loved you before you could say any words, and now I love you more than words can say.”

Also, that bonus scene was

“Do you deserve Daddy’s mouth on your hole, Julian? Or do you deserve his hand? Making your ass red? Teaching you a lesson about teasing Daddy?”

Utterly delicious, delightfully sinful and a complete treat.

Loved the premise, loved the execution of the narrative and loved the characters.

Hotter than Vesuvius and has some of the best dirty talking phone sex ever.

It's taboo, read the warnings, don't expect something different and don't go bitching about it when it's exactly what it says it is 🤐

Sweet Baby Jesus! Reallyyyyy, it's me, not the book. Because I had a hard time reading this book. This was the most taboo romance book, I've ever read. I was uncomfortable with this story. Father and son, 😱 I didn't even read the blurb. My bad. When I was reading this one, I remembered every father in the world. 😂 gross! Eeew! So I think the taboo doesn't work for me. But don't take my review to not to read this book. Because you will have a different taste than mine. 😇

Most of you know this kink is my jam. So not really going to comment on that, this book had everything I like about that, the pining, the conflict, the torment, overwhelming love and ridiculously great sexual tension.

The actual progression of Julians feelings were way to quick, as in a week into realising he might be into daddy kink he accepts he wants to fuck his dad?!?! (They are vastly different things!), But I absolutely do not read these books for realism (no thank you), so I didn't really mind.

What I did mind was every freaking sentence having a reference to some actor, current trend, or stupid pop culture thing. It was weird and happened way to often.

But this book was hot as fuck and that's what I read it for. Job done. Thanks book.

⭐️ 3.5/5 – Pining, denial, and blue balls... welcome to the slowest burn Daddy saga of your life. 😫
🌶 3/5 – Phone sex got freaky real quick, but Daddy sure took his sweet-ass time getting to the finish line. 🫩

The story starts strong with one steamy, messed-up, and oh-so-wrong phone call that accidentally opens up Pandora’s box for Julian and Daddy Boppa. The tension is insane, the setup is deliciously scandalous, and my nosy ass was absolutely in. 🤓😌

But then... the denial spiral begins. After the accidental freaky-coincidence phone sex roleplay between Julian and his Daddy, the rest of the book was just Daddy Boppa denying his damn feelings and lust like his dick was on lockdown. His self-restraint was tighter than a Catholic nun on probation, and holy shit, does it drag on. The man was pining and yearning like he was trying to win an Olympic medal in suffering. 🫠😮‍💨

We don’t get actual love and action until about 78% in—yes, I was counting—did he finally stop blue-balling us and do something about it. Fucking finally. Gaaahhh... By that point, I was mentally screaming “KISS HIM ALREADY, YOU COWARD!” 😖😫

Now, Julian... oh boy. That boy is soft as hell. He’s this shy, blushy crybaby who wears his heart on his sleeve, and yeah, he cries a lot. But he’s also sunshiney and dramatic in a “cue the glitter cannon and sobbing show tunes” kinda way. He keeps that fabulous chaos tucked away for just his closest circle—like his bestie Andy and his Daddy. So he’s basically a sweet little cinnamon roll... if you rolled that cinnamon roll in sequins, emotional meltdowns, and sass. ✨️💅🏻

Also? Daddy Boppa? Yeah, he's that Daddy. A whole damn Zaddy buffet. The way he spoiled Julian, took care of him, sacrificed for him, and basically made it his life's mission to protect and provide? Mmmmph. He wasn't just hot, he was good-the kind of Daddy you dream about and then cry because he's fictional. 😩🫠

Also... weird that the author never revealed Daddy Roberts’ first name? Like??? He’s just Daddy or Boppa the whole damn book. It’s giving mystery man with a huge dick and no ID vibes. 🤨

Sure, there were funny-ass moments with a ton of pop culture references. Maybe a bit too many for my taste—but still, the book drained the shit outta me with all the pining and yearning. We only got a crumb of happiness at the end, and while the epilogue + bonus scene gave us some fluff, it just wasn’t enough for my needy ass. 🙂‍↔️🫤

Would I reread? Nah.
Would I recommend to taboo lovers with a masochistic streak? Sure.
Would I have been happier with 100 more pages of them cuddling and making out instead of being miserable? Fuck yes. 😤

Quotes:

Motherfucking shitsticks. I forgot I was supposed to say my name was Dick Longhard or Max Cockman or something, not use my real, boring name. “Um, I mean,” I rushed on, “it’s whatever you want it to be, hot…” I scrambled for a word, any word. “…dog.”
Oh my fucking god. I just called him a hot dog.
Kill me now.
-
“Do you feel the tip of my finger? Working its way inside you?”
“Fuck… yes, Daddy, it feels so good.”
“I wish it were my tongue, baby boy,” he growled. “I’d suck on your hole for an hour, lapping at it, slipping inside you, your sweet taste on my lips… my stubble rubbing against your gorgeous ass.”
“Daddy, yes, please…” I fucked myself with my finger, picturing my dad between my legs, his mouth on me, making me scream.
“You want that, don’t you, baby? Me getting you wet and open, ready to take Daddy’s cock.”
-
I wanted to wrap my arms around him, give him a hug and tell him it would be fine, whatever it was it would be fine, but I couldn’t. I didn’t remember the last time I’d given him any physical touch, outside of a pat on the shoulder. It had been years, years I’d been living with this want inside me, calculating every move to make sure Julian never discovered the truth.
-
"You are the strongest, sweetest, most amazing man I know. I love you for who you are and for who I've become knowing you. This past year has been the best year of my life and it's because of you."

"Baby, the truth is it will never be easy for us, life is always going to throw us curve balls, but I know I can handle it, handle anything with you beside me."

I don’t really know how to rate this book, so I’ll go with No Rating.

Not gonna lie, the phone sex with really hot. But I just couldn’t get past the father/son thing. I tried, but I couldn’t.

It’s one thing reading about brothers falling love, but I guess I just can’t do it with parent/child.

But I tried! And if it’s your thing, go for it. Lots of pop culture references that made me laugh, and I did kind of enjoy it.

But I just...couldn’t. Now I know for the future!

Hot until it got way to fluffy and happily ever after. This is your book if you like low angst incest. This is my second taboo book and the first was tame so I thought I’d go all in. It was fine until the whole “I made him stuff” and cheesy in love talk started. And that’s enough taboo for today...

This is so wrong and twisted on so many humanly levels
Taboo with capital T.
Not my typical go-to, but there is nothing wrong with giving it a try. I tried and I honestly held less hostility toward it. I partly enjoyed reading it. This book also dragged me to doubt my own sanity as well. Haha. The times when I did enjoy, I felt like I was on the doorstep of gates in hell.
Despite obvious forbidden desire, There was a conscience in this book. They knew what was happening, how wrong and depraved this was, how ethically and morally questionable this was.
I loved the fact that they “ knew” but they could do nothing to stop that dark storm but accept and embrace that “together”, and it was “consensual”

This was the story when inventors fell for their inventions.

Personally, This book was on the border of goodness and wrongness, and I was so ambivalent about it. I did enjoy some but I also did not enjoy some. So, 3 for me. Haha. I felt so conflicted.

However, their love was real, admirable and adorable, regardless of how filthy and taboo nature it was. Love is still, at the end of the day, love.

Was it hot? Good? That dark? That Pervy? Kinky?
Only one way to find out. Dive in and dine, buddy.
You are the one who tastes and rates this dish.
But this dish has it own bitterness. Proceed with caution. Remember, it is great to challenge yourself when you feel up to it, but it is also important to honor your limits.

AHHH!! This A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED Julian. He is adorable and so so funny!! A definite favorite of mine. And his daddy?! So freaking sweet.

This is short, like super short, more like an extended scene. BUT there is supposedly going to be more of these two. God, I hope so! And I hope beyond all hope it’s as good as this was.

Honey London is a really good writer. I could tell just from this snippet. It was engaging and flowed nicely. The characters individual personalities shone through.

I’m dying for the rest of the story now...

This was so, so wrong and yet so disturbingly hot AF.

The anticipation, the buildup, the phone calls. All of it was building towards such a deliciously sweet taboo that I couldn’t stop reading. My kindle was on fire.

But once these two finally came together that fire was mostly lost. The ending didn’t give us a chance to see these two really together and, other than sex, see how compatible they were as a couple or why they absolutely had to be together despite the odds against them.

For me the taboo was better than the reality. But 3/4 of this was worth the read.

I'm giving this story 3.9⭐, but rounding it up to 4⭐.

There's a short novella out there, but also an extended version - you'll want to read that one, where you also get a bonus epilogue.

🟡 Incest, father + son
🔴 Age gap of 20 years
🟣 They both know each other, are involved in each other's lives
🔵 Dad is bisexual, but dates predominantly women
🟢 Son is gay
🌶️ Medium spice

First of all I'd like to point out that it's very, very hard to put together an incest story with the biological son and father that won't make you cringe.

It's a delicate subject and it needs to be dealt with soooo much care in order for the reader to feel like this is exactly what is right for all involved and like it's supposed to be, like there couldn't be any other outcome.

I've read incest books that definitely don't capture that, but this one most certainly did .

The story starts with Julian, a 20 year old college kid with divorced parents. He lives with his mom, but comes to see dad in California for the past few years during the summer. Julian and dad have a great relationship, they get each other, they get along and the dad would do just about anything for him.

This was my Julian. He's 20, grey eyes, amazing features.

When Julian starts going to college and dad sees him again after a prolonged period of time at the age of 19, all grown up, he starts feeling things , feels attracted and decides to bury all that somewhere deep inside, because he knows it's wrong.

So, here's the daddy. He's 40, is well built, very handsome, has a well paid job, has a house, is considered very hot.

The conflict within the father was beautifully depicted, usually it's just straight to the sex part, but in this case the moral dilemma was enormous and the dad was consciously deciding over and over again to suffer in silence his whole life in order to maintain the father-son relationship.

When Julian occasionally works for the gay phone hotline and comes across daddy , he thinks it's his dad and his world turns upside down.

After that chapter the events were a bit dragged out , I was most certainly expecting for a little more to be going on between them, but they get together at the end of the book and it was a sweet thing to behold, but for me it was absolutely too little of them together .
I felt like the anticipation that was there when Julian realised he was talking to his dad kind of disappeared and the story lost its hype .
When they finally do get together, again, I was expecting a little more on-page sex . I mean, this is what I've been waiting for the whole time, right?

In the bonus epilogue they're already in Australia for a longer period of time and you know what, I felt like I lost a big part there, I'd really like to know how are they navigating their relationship, it's said they're not hiding, they're out in the open, well, how? How do they live? Important information completely left out.

With a little more angst and spice this would be top notch for me, but even so, it certainly is in the top quality incest books out there.

October 2021:

I’m coming back to say I love this book a lot, even more than I expressed in August, tbh. Definitely one of my favorites and I’m bumping up the rating. Yes, the epilogue is rather unbelievable but so is the entire premise of it. Honey London’s smut is to die for.

August 2021:
The way Honey London writes is so good. This is the first book I’ve picked up by them and I absolutely loved it, and one of my first forays into taboo through published work. The relationship between them was honestly very sweat, the way it built up being somehow still realistic, and the steamy scenes were amazing.

re-read 1/3/24 -- hadn't planned on re-reading it, but I recommended it to a friend and started reading it again...and now it's 5:10 a.m. and I gotta get some sleep. With some steamy dreams, obvi!

re-read 12/5/21 just because I needed a little super-sexy smut right about now!

original review: Whoo!!! I think my favorite phone call here was the one where Juilan is at the mall and has a phone date with Daddy to the movies. There's certainly an advantage to seeing something that's been out for a while -- a nearly empty theater means less viewers seeing him lose control. Hot. A. F.

August 2024 - 4 stars

I only re-read this so soon because it came out on audio. Highly recommended audio from Zachary Zaba who I was not familiar with.

March 2024 - 4 stars

I was compelled to re-read this, and am not sure I agree with my previous review since I didn't find this dragged at all, in fact I got to the end and realised it was only 160 pages long even though I seem to have been convinced it was double that. So, um, where's the rest??

Anyway, very enjoyable.

March 2023 - 3.5 stars

A surprisingly sweet, taboo read, which dragged a bit in the middle but had a very satisfying conclusion.

CW: Incest between father and son.
Sexual content: Not omnipresent but explicit and taboo.
Kink: Yes.

I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. As Julian says at one point:
Yeah, I was going to hell for sure… but at least I was going to have fun on the way.

Julian, while filling in as a phone sex operator for his friend who has the flu, has a call with a man that makes him question himself deeply. The man not only asks him to call him Daddy, but goes so far as to pretend that Julian is his son, and Julian...well, he likes it a lot.

Julian's father (did I miss something or do we literally never get his name???), who reluctantly moved away after his divorce, was initially thrilled to have Julian move to LA for university, until he started to see him in a different light. He puts in place The Rules and stops all physical contact with Julian, trying instead to sate his desire with phone sex roleplay.

This isn't a long book, but it still manages to be somewhat of a slow burn, both parties agonising about the attraction they have for each other, and being fairly sure it's not reciprocated. I did find that it dragged a bit in the middle with the will-they-won't-they.

It makes up for it by being very sweet, and having some very sexy moments, including very well-written phone sex which isn't always my thing. I enjoyed the caretaking aspect, and thought Julian in particular was a very convincing character.

It's a multi-POV first person narration, and the character voices are very distinct. I thought Julian was hilarious, his thoughts are full of pop-culture references and funny comments. His dad is, understandably, much more serious in tone.

This also has the best conclusion I've read in a long time.

I highly recommend also reading the free short story, which takes place about 18 months after this.
