Trick-or-Doggy Treat is a fun warm tale surrounding a complex murder. Enjoyable even though it is not a good at the first book in the Chrissy the Shih Tzu Cozy Mystery series, the wonderful characters and realistic and precious dogs make the story a great read for fans of cozy mysteries or animals.

Really a cute story with Halloween, the Extravaganza for the animal shelter, the movie star’s new movie, the romances, and the murders. Good descriptions of setting and characters. I enjoy the interactions with the dog, Chrissy, and all her dog friends. The murderer was too obvious, but I had fun going after all the red herrings.

If you need something to read on a cold, autumn weekend, then read this book! Once I started, I couldn't put it down! The characters are true to life, engaging, heartfelt, suspenseful, light edge. Diane Wing's descriptive writing style and skill makes you feel as if you are there in the story as an observer to the action. Rest assured, you will smile, laugh, chuckle, grin, shed a tear, and hold on to suspense all the while guessing who might the 'culprit' be! and when you get to the end....was it who you thought it was? and then you will be amazed and surprised and wanting to read more. I know I do. When is the 4th book coming out?

This series has a calming affect on me. The author does a wonderful job of writing a page turning mystery that you can get lost in for hours. Even though it is a work of fiction, when you put the book down you feel renewed and refreshed. There is a lot of character development in this series and I enjoy seeing how the characters have developed throughout the three books. I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes the series next!

The third installation of the Chrissy the Shih Tzu Mysteries is a gem. We are reacquainted with Chrissy, her human, Autumn, and other characters we've come to know, such as Autumn's fiance, Ray, and his German Shepard, Ace.

The story begins with the death of starlet Amy Davis who is having an affair with Michael Williams, a Hollywood producer married to Dana Wood, a well-known, much loved and very successful actress who was filming in Scotland at the time of Amy's death.

Dana has accepted a role in a movie filming in rural Pennsylvania town near the Delaware River and escapes there to avoid the publicity of her pending divorce and Michael's possible indictment. Her director's assistant contacts Autumn and asks if the B&B she owns and is renovating, which is close to the filming location, will allow Dana to stay there during filming, even though the B&B is not scheduled to officially open until the following June. Autumn is more than happy to accommodate the famous actress and her publicist.

Mayhem occurs on the film's set, at the B&B, and back in LA. The plot takes several twists and turns and I suspected at least four different people of being Amy's killer and Dana's stalker. I loved how the plot unfolded and how I was kept in suspense about the killer's identity until the end.

In addition to the murder mystery, there are other plot arcs, such as a secret Dana is protecting; a mysterious stranger who lives in town, but has a nebulous connection to Dana; an ambitious understudy, and the Halloween Extravaganza being planned for the B&B.

This is a delightful, fast-paced and engaging book well worth reading. While it is the third book in a series, it works well as a stand-alone for readers who are not acquainted with the first two novels.

Loved reading about Chrissy's latest "mysterious" adventure! This series is so enjoyable. I've gotten away from reading for pleasure and Chrissy, Autumn and their friends make me want to read for fun more often. Easy read, fun plot and twists, loveable characters. Diane writes from the heart, pours her soul into the story line and brings each character to life! Good for any age, young or young at heart!

Another cute little cozy whodunnit with Chrissy and Autumn celebrating Halloween at the Peabody Mansion Bed & Breakfast, which technically isn’t open for business quite yet. You never know who’s going to show up, who’s going to disappear or what remains to be found in the attic to add to the fun and mystery. I can envision Chrissy bouncing around with her butterfly wings helping Autumn solve this twisted maze of a puzzle.

A great book! Despite the colorful cover page, this is not a book for kids, this an intense mystery and detective novel. Excellent pace, filled with twists and turns till the end. Don't hesitate- give it a try!

I enjoyed this book. This is book three in this fun and series but does work well as a standalone book if you haven't read or listened to the previous books. The story is told by multiple characters but this works well, as it keeps you guessing who the killer was, with so many suspicious characters in the starlets life. The mystery was good and contained a number of twists, although I wouldn't really say that Autumn investigated the murders in the normal sense of the word, such as asking suspects questions and I think her dog possible did more investigating than she did but still enjoyed the book. The characters are likeable but I think in some ways the dogs steal the show as they sound so cute. The author paints a very vivid picture so it is very easy to imagine all the characters, even in there spooky costumes. This book is a fun cozy mystery that you can enjoy anytime of year.
When Dana Wood's husband cheats on her and his mistress is found at the bottom of a cliff she knows her world is about to change in a big way. You see Dana is a famous actress and her husband is a famous direct and the whole world will be watching. Then Dana's manager suggest she gets out of town for a while and star in a new film. Dana finds herself in Autumn's B&B which is perfect. The B&B isn't open yet but is willing to make an exception for Dana and with Autumn's fiance the sheriff they are also able to offer her security. The only thing the B&B is planning is a Halloween party for the town in order to raise money for the local animal shelter. Dana Fall in love with Autumn's dog and the peace and quiet and offers to lend her help. Unfortunately things don't stay quite for long, the dead actress was murdered and Dana's husband commits suicide, Dana finds herself being stalked and another actresses does her best to blame Dana for everything wrong in the world. Can Autumn and her dog Chrissy help her new friend stay alive? And host a Halloween event that everybody will love.
I liked the narrator. She has a pleasant voice that she puts to good use voicing the characters.

Audiobook: I enjoyed book 3 of the "Chrissy the Shih Tzu Mysteries" series. Autumn Clarke, while planning an elaborate Halloween event, agreed to host a popular movie star at the Peabody Mansion B&B. Autumn and her dog Chrissy are delightful amateur sleuths. Halloween provided a great backdrop for this circuitous mystery. I appreciated that the author kept me guessing who the perpetrator was. Lou Campbell's narration was fine and enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Dana Wood is a talented new addition to the cast of colorful and often quirky characters in Knollwood.

A wealthy and talented actress, Dana Wood seems to have some heavy burdens to bear in terms of personal challenges, losses, and tragedy.

The ever amazing Chrissy the Shih Tzu, and K9 Ace and their friends are brave and insightful members of the Knollwood community.

Past secrets and present jealousies can extoll heavy prices.

The tight knit community is a bit odd, yet mostly touching in how they look after their own.

I'm looking forward to my next visit there.
