Have to say this book made me love these two characters. I loved how there was so much more to Flick than what he showed on the outside and how caring he was towards those he loved. I didn't blame her one bit for being scared of the situation they were in and thought that she definitely showed bravery in several moments most would have caved. Loved seeing these two come out the other side!

I felt like I started a movie about halfway through when I started this book. A large number of characters were thrown at the reader very quickly without a lot of context. This was definitely not a stand-alone read; I would recommend reading books 1 and 2 before reading this one. As the story progressed, many of the pieces fell into place.

I was glad to see that there was more to Flick than it seems at first. His internal dialog was all about how attractive he found Mallory. I was glad to see that as he got to know her that he valued her intelligence and strength as well. He definitely is a man who goes after what he wants - and he wants Mallory. Mallory for her part was a bit mean in her interactions with Flick. Granted she had just gotten out of a difficult relationship, but she's hot and cold with Flick when he expresses his interest and the silent treatment was just a tad childish.

With that said, the couple together at the end of the book was a lot of fun. The story is filled with quirky characters, themes of family and a whole lot of action. The pace was quite fast.

Three stars for this romantic intrigue story.

This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.

Flick And Mallory

I went into this book blind not having read the two previous in this series. As the story progressed a lot of the back story of the characters and the danger was explained. This being said it would be easier to understand if you read the first two books first.
Flick and Mallory seemed a mismatched pair with their work being the only thing in common. The both feel a connection but are unwilling to act on it until danger forces them closer together.
I loved how Flick was such a caring man to his family, all of them including the friends he considered family. Mallory
also had a strong connection with her Dad which was refreshing with no drama.
Every good book needs a villain and this one has Bitty. She was a nut job with homicidal tendencies that got her just rewards.
Always great to have a HEA after a near death explosive experience.
I received a copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 3rd book in the Hometown Heroes series. Each book can be read as a standalone but would be better if all books are read.
Flick and his friends are still being bothered by the stalker Bitty. Only now she has set her sights on Flick and everyone close to him is in danger. Including the new employee that he went to dinner with.
Mallory just wanted to live a quiet life. Work, go home and read a book. She never thought she would be a victim if stalking again so soon. But she can't deny the huge attraction between her and Flick.
I really enjoy this series and can't wait for more.

So it's better if you've read the previous books as there's a lot of information dump that doesn't make sense without the others.
Flick and Mallory are opposites but can they be what they didn't know they needed? Fast-paced romance story with intrigue.

I was given a free copy of this book from Hidden Arcs and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
