Montana werewolf. Snooty demon hunter. Too bad the mission comes first.

Astrid Edmonds takes her role as demon hunter seriously. Alongside her plucky team, she can conquer anything. Not that she wants to take on smelly werewolves, but it's her job.

Boden Connery loves his home and family. That doesn't mean he wants to spend the entirety of his long existence on the isolated ranch. When an intelligent feral army encroaches on Bodie's family's territory, he'll do whatever it takes to protect his pack, including calling on demon hunters for help.

Astrid's preconceived notions about werewolves fly right out the window when she lays eyes on the ridiculously sexy Bodie. He's not smelly and brainless at all, actually. The werewolf is sweet, upstanding, and downright hot.

Wildest is the second book in Carrie Thorne’s Demon Hunter Romance Series. This book is an action packed paranormal romance novel filled with great characters, intense passion, a great love story and a happily ever after.

While on a mission Astrid Edmonds is shocked to discover that everything she knew about werewolves was wrong. There are good werewolves out there like Boden Connery and he needs her and her team’s help to fight off a pack of feral wolves and protect the Montana pack. The chemistry between Boden and Astrid is instant and explosive. The strong connection between them shows a deep understanding of one another and adds to the depth of the storyline. But even if they survive the upcoming battle, will their love be enough to overcome the different paths of their lives? Read it and find out!

This book was a great addition this amazing new series. Thorne is a phenomenal writer, who’s story telling ability keeps you hanging as you go page by page. All the books in The Demon Hunter Romance Series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself. I can’t wait for the next book!

I have been waiting for this book to come out ever since I read the snippet in Six. Wildest is a captivating paranormal romance between Astrid Peterson and Bodie Connery. Astrid is a strong, smart, attractive demon hunter, who is a badass and can fight like a ninja. Bodie is an Alpha werewolf who is handsome, loyal, and passionate.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading Six first so you can understand Wildest a little better. There isn’t a lot of overlap so Six might help explain things that you might not fully understand.

I’m a paranormal romance newbie and I was really intrigued with the backstory of werewolves and feral werewolves and the difference between the two. I find it hilarious that Astrid is sent to help the werewolves first when she thinks werewolves are smelly and repulsive. The relationship between Astrid and Bodie is awkward at first since they both were taught to hate and to never trust one another. And as the story goes on, you learn more about demon hunters, werewolves, and the reasons why. The sexual tension between Astrid and Bodie is low at first then once they decide to give into their desires it goes to high and super steamy. Fingers crossed, this won’t be the last of the Connery Ranch and Noah. There is action, betrayal, passion, heat, twists, and turns in this book that will shock you and make you keep on reading into the wee hours of the morning.

I loved the sense of community and family within the Connery Ranch. It sounds absolutely beautiful with the mountains and Glacier National Park. Camp Waterfall sounds so serene and peaceful. Camping under the stars sounds amazing and makes me wish we could take travel to Montana.

I am excited to see what other demons will be featured in the other books. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a snippet of the next book. I wonder who will be next: Vann, Lana, or Bennett. I want more of the Seven and see what comes next for my new favorite demon hunting team.

Wildest follows Astrid, part of the Demon Hunter team and Bodie the soon-to-be alpha of a Werewolf pack. The two try to douse the fire between them all while dealing with a rabid army of ferals. There is snark, there is mischief, there is passion and there is a good plot with fast paced action.

This paranormal romance was so wholesome, it was difficult to put this book down. The world building along with the lore was so powerful and so well thought out. The main characters were beautifully portrayed, from their initial distrust to their banter filled romance. They were both strong and equal partners in the relationship, each bringing so much to the table. Between the two main character's personalities coming to life on these pages and the suspense of the feral army the story moves at a fast clip and doesn't let you off the hook.

The supporting characters and the snark in all the conversations was beautifully laid out through this book. Not once was there any confusion of who the secondary characters were as they each had enough subtext explained through the story. The camaraderie and the close interactions between all the characters leaves you feeling quite spell bound.

Never have I read such beautifully drawn out characters in the paranormal universe, especially more depth to the hunters or werewolves.

Read this romance for the:

~ bad ass female demon warrior
~ hot and loveable Dr. alpha werewolf shifter
~ fantastic dialogue
~ slow burn romance that dives into a full on relationship
~ absolutely lovely secondary characters
~ fast paced action
~ really good world building with the lore
~ not over the top angst and drama
~ perfectly sensible communicating adults
~ relatable drama and humour
~ great bad boss fight

Demon hunters, werewolf's, wolf shifters, and as she calls them, Ferals all completely had me interested from the first few chapters. As a paranormal fan, I loved that author distinguished between the wild Ferals and the werewolf man who controlled his wild side. The author did a fantastic job providing references to separate them in the readers' minds, even explaining how a wolf shifter can become Feral. Minor errors like spaces are the reason I gave four stars if they had been fixed it would have been five. Honestly, they don't distract from the read. Things start to heat up as you get further in the book, both in the conflict and romantically. I really enjoyed that author adds to the history and information on the paranormal world and how her Ferals are different. As the story gets more profound, the author does a great job bringing the heated interactions and conflicts.

Calling in Astrids team of demon hunters and Bodies werewolves against the Ferals, can they win the battle and not lose each other? This book escalated nicely with excellent descriptions of setting and people to keep the reader captivated and definitely not lacking in the romance and sex scenes. The conflict is palpable as they prepare for war but not just for the outcome but also for the relationship of our main characters. I absolutely love how the author wrapped it up and left room for more. This was a fantastic book overall. I really enjoyed how the author wrote and described everything. The romance was so sweet but also practical to the characters. I love how they got to study, and the reader got to learn new things before the actual conflict took place. No surprises, but she definitely thought about her flow of ideas for this book, and I think it came together seamlessly.

Holy crap I haven't reviewed Wildest yet! Well, I have. In my head, over and over and over. And I still love it. Like watching a favorite movie. On repeat. Yes, I do that, shh!! Of course, I have author bias.

Admittedly, I'm more than a little in love with Bodie. The best thing about paranormal as a genre, is that there are no rules. But sometimes, the scientist in me can't make it too far-fetched, apparently, as not matter what world the story exists in, the characterization is paramount, the adventure must feel real, and the root of the struggle must be relatable.

More shallowly, the werewolf clothes thing. I absolutely could not come up with a way for Bodie's clothes to disappear and reappear when he shifted. So, they don't. My husband laughed his butt off when he finished the first chapter. The seemingly minute detail of non-magical clothes and recurrent nudity drove a lot of Bodie's humor and attitude. Not to mention, Astrid's mate needed to be someone that could not only see her for who she is and appreciate her quirks, but be able to make her laugh.

Astrid is brainy and anxious and willowy. I can relate. There are too many people out there that would assume that means she isn't a badass, but she is strength and courage and passion. Now if only I could kick some feral butt, move a boulder bigger than my car, and run for hours without slowing.

(as always, forgive my types, grammatical issues, etc... I'm busy putting the good edits to the books!)

Book 2 was a more enjoyable read for me. It had a more fluid writing style and did not jump around like the first book did. In this story, you follow Astrid and Boden "Bodie" as the come together and have to overcome centuries of mistrust and downright hatred between the werewolves and demon hunters. Neither group had seen anything but the worst of each group.

The idea/concept of this book is that the demon hunters have been called in to help a group of werewolves solve a feral population that has set up it's den not to far from Boden's pack. As the plot unfolds, the reader learns a lot more background of both groups. As they learn and understand each other better, they are able to put aside their differences in order to work together to solve the mystery of why this group of ferals have bedded down so near an established pack.

This book is full of a sassy female lead who has her own vulnerabilities. Both the male and female lead characters are flawed in some way, which makes them more relatable to a wide range of people. Yes, the description of them is near perfection, but its the inner workings of who they are and their personality flaws that make them relatable as people and characters.

Definitely a 5 star rating and would definitely recommend this book to those who love paranormal shifter romances. I look forward to seeing and reading more from this series and author.

Werewolf of Montana and his hair is perfect.

Not your usual enemies to lovers couples romance. This time the couple is a Demon Hunter and a Montana Werewolf. They have to put aside their prejudices and join forces to fight feral werewolves who are killing people. Astrid Edmond is the demon Hunter who thinks werewolves are filthy, smelly savages and should be eliminated from this Earth until she meets Boden Connery. A very handsome, sexy, muscular werewolf. Boden is not so happy to be joining forces with a demon Hunter no matter how beautiful and sexy he thinks Astrid is.

I liked this book a lot. It is well-written and very hot. It is romantic and sweet. The scene when Astrid first meets Boden I thought was good. I loved how she had to stop herself from practically drooling all over him. lol. The action was quick and fast-paced. It kept me interested to the end of the book. I am a fan of Carrie Throne’s writing. I’ve read her romances and I love them. “Running Home.” is my favorite. lol. So, when I saw she had released a new book. I immediately downloaded it. Please keep writing. lol. I received a complimentary copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the sequel to Six and we get to meet Carrie and Shayne again, along with the rest of the demon hunting team. Astrid is tasked with the job of answering a call for help to deal with feral werewolves that have been attacking a remote community, assessing if the call is genuine and, if so , what can they do to help? On the way she runs into three werewolves who aren’t like any others she’d previously fought. They fought together as a team and even seemed to strategise. While fighting them, she is helped by a wolf. A wolf who turns into a man! Bodie, who is the representative of the person who called for help. Bodie, who is a werewolf himself but a kind that she and her team hadn’t even known existed.

Once again, Astrid’s team find themselves caught up in a dangerous situation where they don’t know who, if any of them, will survive. The odds look impossible but they’ve faced impossible odds before.

Bodie has the job of teaching Astrid that all she thought she knew about werewolves is nothing. At the same time he finds himself falling for her, knowing that it would never work.

I liked this follow up to Six and look forward to the next in the series.

This is the first book I've read from this author and I was greatly pleased! Ms. Thorne took me on an adventure full of demons, werewolves, ferals, and hunters. I loved the H and h's instant attraction and chemistry. The dialogues are witty and refreshing. Characters are well fleshed out and the description of the battle makes you feel like you're in the thick of it. Bodie (H) was a reluctant alpha who has always been there for his pack and feels the great responsibility of protecting it. Astrid (h) is a fearless demon hunter who have finally found her niche in life through her team. Faced with battle with ferals that they may not come out alive from, they agreed to live day by day and snatch what happiness they can have together.
This is the second in the series and I will definitely go and buy the first book and the next one in the series. This is a gem of a book that I will read again and again.

The second book in this series is interesting in the way that it builds up the characters and the sceneries. They are very detailed to the point where they can be pictured. Although the storyline is good, I personally prefer the first book.

Astrid has her own ideas about werewolves until she meets Bodie. He is entirely different to what she had imagined. The sparks fly between them, but acting upon their attraction is a different story. They are from different worlds after all. A werewolf who likes to freely roam around and a demon hunter who lives in a city and goes where her skills are required. It's difficult to picture a life together. Can they find a way around their dilemna if and when they defeat their foes?

It's a good concept where the werewolves and their new allies go up against the dangerous ferals. It's predictable as to whom the leader of the feral is, but the twist after the battle is totally unpredictable. The romance is believable. The interactions between Bodie and Astrid are witty and absorbing. It's an entertaining read.

What I liked about this book were the characters and the story line. This book has a different slant on werewolves. Here the werewolves are half demon and half human. There are normal werewolves and there are feral werewolves. The normal werewolves live under the radar. Then there are the feral ones who are the ones who attack and kill people. Werewolves turn feral because they can't control their anger and morph into the half and half beasts. There are also Demon Hunters who are half demon and half human. The demon who made them set their purpose to hunt the demons in the world. Astrid is a demon hunter who only knows about feral werewolves. Imagine her surprise when she meets Bodie, a normal werewolf who has requested her group's help to remove a large group of feral werewolves threatening his pack. This is their story and it is a good one. I liked it and would recommend the book.

Carrie Thorne is another new-to-me author who has impressed me greatly with the book Wildest. I love a good paranormal romance and I'm grateful to add another 'reliable' author to my list.
The storyline was exciting and well-paced and was full of action, romance and strong secondary characters. One of the most enjoyable parts of this book was the two well developed MCs. Astrid comes across as a standoffish princess who is also highly intelligent, confident in her skills and a kickass fighter. Bodie is a hot, flirty werewolf brawler with hidden layers and together their chemistry is tangible.
I enjoyed yet another different take on werewolves, add in some demon hunters and it is a winning combination. Needless to say, I will be reading the rest of the series.

OK, I'm hooked. I enjoyed the first in this series - the characters, the humour, the action... But fell in love with the second. Bodie and Astrid! What can I say - I loved their banter, the connection and the love and respect that grew between them so quickly. These stories are built around tolerance and understanding - the growth to accept others because of difference not despite them. Of course they've also got all the hot alpha men and bad-ass females that complement each other. The plot development based on real science and the paranormal... there is just so much to enjoy. I can not wait for the next installment. It would also be great to have a bit more of Ryan and Quinn now that I know the team that much better.

I loved Six, so I was over the moon when I saw there was another book. It was a while after reading Six before I started Wildest. I forgot the characters for a little while, so I was slightly confused at the beginning trying to figure out who Astrid was. My issue not the story. This one can be read as a stand alone. Just have much more back story by reading Six first.

I was hooked on the story once Astrid met Bodie. I love how both characters need to overcome what they thought they knew to be able to work together let alone have a relationship.

We get new characters, but Astrid's entire team shows up in the story so we get the best of both worlds in this story.

An engaging read that had me hooked until the end. Can't wait for the teams next adventure!

Considering this is about demons etc this was so much fun to read.

This author brought a whole new side to the werewolf side of things especially the feral side.

This crew really works well together and I really hope there will be another book to follow in this line as I am finding it totally interesting.

I would really love to read about another one of the the crew meeting their match and this author has a way with making them come out of nowhere and just stick.

I found this hard to put down once I started reading it and kept wondering what was coming next, this author doesn't let you down with something different around each corner.

I loved it!

Although second in the series this book is good as a standalone. Astrid and Bodie both have a lot of erroneous misconceptions about each other. Astrid is a demon hunter who thinks werewolves are smelly and violent beasts. Bodie is a werewolf who thinks demon hunters are vicious killers. She doesn’t like that she finds him attractive in addition to her poor social skills making things confusing for him. Both are wonderful characters and the story has a different take on werewolves.

There is a lot of violence and sex and both sometimes bogged the story down for me. It is overall a good read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from BookSirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.

Astrid was picked to do reconnisance for the demon hunting group. Supposedly a group of werewolves were threatening a compound. At the meeting site, she finds several werewolves that threaten her, which she kills. Another one comes at her and surprisingly another werewolf helps her out. To her knowledge, werewolves don’t help humans, but this one looked and smelled different. When he changes to his human form, he introduces himself as Brodie. He is her contact.
This story is about trust, knowledge, lust, love, and community.
Great story. Second in the series but can be read alone. Good character development.
I highly recommend this book and series.

Really enjoyed this book. Wildest is the second book in the Demon Hunter series by Carrie Thorne. It can be read as a standalone, but better read after the first book. We met Astrid in book one and she always came across as pretty reserved. It was learn her back story as to why she's like that, but better to see that she could learn to relax. Easy going Brodie seemed like her perfect compliment and their banter had me frequently laughing out loud. Wildest is a slow burn with tons of chemistry between Brodie and Astrid. The world building and backstories Carrie has created are fantastic and I'm definitely interested in continuing with the series!

Carrie Thorne continues strong with her Demon Hunter Romance series with book two, Wildest. She continues to put a refreshing twist on her characters species and storylines. You learn the differences in werewolves. Astrid is a demon hunter that is sent to help Brodie’s pack of werewolves. Also, learn why they are taught to hate each other. Their chemistry grows and catches fire.

This story is quick, fast-paced and flows together wonderfully. It is a sweet, captivating read that has twists and turns that will shock you in the end.

Can’t wait for book three in the series to see what new refreshing twists, Carrie Thorne will have on her next set of characters.

I was lucky enough to to be among the few who were gifted this title to review, and I’m so happy I was!! This is a fun and emotional story with interesting twists and turns. A definite must read!! I’m an avid paranormal fan because the stories allow a fanciful fun edge to real life interactions in an exaggerate sense. This is a fun love story that shows how having an open mind and a great sense of self can help you overcome overwhelming odds. Carrie writes with an amazing ability to transport her readers in time and place with vivid imagery and phenomenal story lines.
I’m looking forward to more from her.

This is a great paranormal romance. I loved the different spin on the usual werewolf books I’ve read which was refreshing, it’s the first I’ve read from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s got a great solid storyline that keeps you hooked and the characters are all relatable. I haven’t read the first in this series but if it’s as good as this one I know I’ll love it, it’s full of action and drama along with some great romance thrown in. Astrid is an independent badass and Boden is the kind of guy you can’t resist when you get to know all of his qualities. I read this book as an ARC.

I liked this story overall. I am a huge fan of the paranormal romance genre so I was looking forward to reading this book. I am still not sure how I feel about the descriptions of werewolves but I went with the author's vision while reading the book. The story kind of lost me in the middle of the book around the preparing for battle parts but the story came together in the end. The intimate scenes were hot.

Boden is the kind of shapeshifter any girl would like to see diving into their waters. I liked the first novel of this series but I loved this one. I found myself fully invested in what would happen with the problem they faced and their relationship. And I was super happy to have it end in a way that hinted at seeing more of Boden and Astrid in the future. Loved this one. It's a good one to recommend even if you didn't read the first novel of the series. -I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Who doesn't love a story with a sexy werewolf who spends an awful lot of time naked? This story was exiting to read, full of surprises and has that eternal struggle of falling for a someone you can't have. I love this hidden world that the author has created and really enjoy how this demon hunter team, that seems more like a family, can come together and support each other. A sexy Demon Hunter name Astrid whose parents have scarred her when it comes to relationships. Until she finds herself attracted to her next mission. Bodie is a werewolf and the next alpha who also needs help protecting his pack from a dangerous threat. If they survive this threat maybe they can make a relationship work for the long run. My first read of Carrie Thorne and book 2 of the series which I really enjoy it I’ll be sure to go back and read book 1!
