Believing she can never be with the guy she loves and knowing she doesn’t fit in at the Crimson Court, Abigail Byler has left the hills and caverns of Virginia for California and the Human-Vampire Coalition where she hopes to make the best of the unexpected turn her life has taken.

That’s easier said than done when her heart still longs for her first love, Reece—and when tensions between humans and vampires in America are rapidly increasing.

The last thing Abbi intends to do is return to the Bastion—it’s too dangerous for her there—in every way. But when her life takes another shocking twist, she may have no other choice than to make the perilous cross-country journey and face the vampire who turned her—and the one she still loves.

This time, though, she won’t be alone. And the vampire queen of the Crimson Court is not going to like it when she finds out who’s coming to dinner.

I love writing, and I love LOVE. I've been writing seriously since 2010 and have written 35 books (and counting!) Most of them are YA and NA romantic fantasy. There's a dash of paranormal and dystopian romance in my book list as well.

I'm honored to be an Amazon bestseller and multi-award winning author of the bestselling Hidden Saga, which is a 10-book Fae fantasy romance series, the heart-pounding Crimson Accord vampire romance series.

My new Romantasy series, Age of Fae, begins with A Court Bright and Broken, which released on Valentine's Day 2025. Book 2, A Kingdom Ruthless and Radiant comes out May 23rd 2025!

I live in Rhode Island where I write in my car at the beach year round and sometimes crave the heat and humidity of Mississippi, where I grew up. I love hearing from my readers! Reach out and say hi anytime.

4.5 stars rounded up - this is exactly the type of series I would have majorly fangirled over when I was in high school!! 🩸🩸🩸🩸✨

Once again I read Crimson Storm in one sitting and loved every minute of it! Amy writes such fast-paced action-packed YA fantasy reads and the world she built in this series is like a slightly different version of our world and super relatable. The human-vampire battle for equality really reminds me of the battles with racism that are still going on so it didn’t even feel like much of a stretch!

Thanks again Amy Patrick for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to read Crimson Bond (book 3 in the series!)

Amy has done it once again! As with the Hidden series, you will become mesmerized with the continuation of Abigail and Reece’s story. Amy will “sink her teeth“ into you right from the beginning, keeping you under her captivity until the very end!

Abigail, along with her two friends from the Bastion Heather and Kelly, have found themselves in a struggle for their safety and ultimately, their lives. Being forced with no other option but to return to Bastion and face the only man she has ever loved and her maker, the unforeseen circumstances and obstacles these three endure will leave you craving more with every turn of the page.

Beginning a unintended friendship with a human named Shane, who puts his life at risk for her, will only allow Imogen more control over her role in the resistance. These two men she has acquired strong feelings for, Reece and Shane, are Imogen’s perfect leverage for getting her estranged daughter to adhere to her ultimate plan.

Vampires and humans are attempting to live a cohesive existence. This book takes place about a year after the previous one, and is highly recommended to read in order. Abbi and the two friends she left with have been in California working to create this peace. Abbi and her friends have hit a rough patch and need to get back home. A cross country adventure leads to some challenges. It’s a crazy idea for this to happen but Patrick makes it seem doable. Abbi has become more mature and Reece is still a mystery, but the new guy Shane is stirring things up. So exciting! I was given an early copy from the author and I wrote my review voluntarily.

I devoured Crimson Storm in a day's time... and immediately regretted it for the wait until March!

It picks up roughly a year after the events of Crimson Born and immediately finds Abi and her friends in trouble, making for a quick read of nonstop action and suspense as they try to find their way to safety.

So many things happened in this book that I didn't even know I absolutely *needed* to have happen... but Amy Patrick, being the amazing storyteller that she is, winds her plots to equally mend and break readers as they make their way through. We're starting to see both sides to the human-vampire world, and it's sure to make for increasing complications in the books ahead.

While the book doesn't leave on a cliffhanger per se, it does most definitely lead up to the next one, which I'm eagerly waiting for. Neither this book, nor the first, should be approached as a standalone, so do yourself a favor and grab Crimson Born before jumping into this one.

As with anything from this author, I'd highly recommend.

It’s a pretty good story, but written very simplistically with robotic and predictable dialog. I am going to read the series BECAUSE it has potential. I’ve read series like this before where they actually improve as each book is written, and I’m...hopeful?
There are many things in this book that are making me s.m.h:
*her Amish experience would make her a LOT more skittish about EVERYTHING.
*these people have no problem-solving skills...at all.
*the evil potential of Imogen was dumped. SO sad.
*if you’re gonna make Abbi un-Amish, then give her a brain.

I was immediately drawn into this book, finishing the series within two days. This review is what I’m posting on all four books as it is a review of the whole series.

The Crimson Accord is a world where vampires and humans are living together, mostly peacefully when we enter the scene. Abigail and Reece meet at a party and as Reece calls it: it’s destiny. This book has intrigue, and Abbi has a resolute moral compass she’s not willing to budge on. The series is definitely worth a read, but will I read it again? I haven’t decided, but probably not.

The good?
1. Reece and Kannon make this series worth it. Reece deserved better than Abbi. She’s stupid for never thanking him for keeping her alive after all her dumb decisions.

2. The story is interesting! The world is compelling. The support characters are a tad underdeveloped but are endearing.

3. Abbi and Reece’s will they ever be together romance... it pulls you into the story. Especially as you root for Reece the entire book!

4. This series is imaginative. The writing has a fun, fast pace feel to it. I immensely loved how clean the book was. Sex is off scene and the language is minimal. The book was exciting as we follow Abbi’s journey.

The bad?
1. Abigail is willing to let others get hurt for her to keep her morals. I don’t care what the book tries to tell you. Abbi is selfish. Her and Sadie’s “Peace at all costs” mantra is insane. Humanity is flawed. But of course Abbi willingly hurts Reece over and over because she’s hellbent on choosing the right thing no matter who it affects (yet never has to really face the consequences herself.)
The ending of this book pissed me off. We are building up to a war between humans and vampires. And it just all ends peacefully? What was all the crazy war build up for? What was the purpose of the threat of war, if there would be no battle?

2. I nearly stopped reading the last book, Crimson Crown, because Abbi actually agrees to sleep with ALL the bloodbound soldiers. Wtf wtf wtf wtf. I realized there wasn’t much left and made myself trudge through but honestly it blew me away.

This whole time Abbi is shoving her morals down everyone’s throat, to the point of insane blindness to the danger she’s putting everyone in (like believing a cure will fix everything), but she decided “yes sleeping with alllll my drones is something I’m willing to budge on while the love of my life stands outside the door and I make him pick the order of men I sleep with”

I don’t care that circumstances got in the way and she never did it. She still agreed to it!!

3. I find the promise of sex every once in awhile to be a very strange reason for these vampires to be soldiers ... like if you want to be a part of the queen’s harem, like ok that’s your choice. But why did it have to be the soldiers?? This plot point is bizarre. I’m fairly certain not wanting to be killed by the humans is a good enough reason for the vampires to want to join the army. But whatever.

Sum up?

I recommend this series. It’s a decent vampire romance series. The characters are cute and you are rooting for them the whole time. Whether it was for them to succeed or fail, I was indeed invested in their stories.

I was rooting for Abbi to kill Imogen, but yet again precious Abbi never has to do any of the dirty work. Because Abbi kind of sucks, despite her endearing idealism.

Something I really appreciate about this series is the importance placed upon family. It's coming in all shapes and sizes in this book.

I would say this book is 4.5 stars rounded up.

One reason is

Also, a major plot hole was

Best Quote:
"I doubt you even know how to handle that weapon,” Nathaniel taunted. “Your hands are shaking like those of an untested youth. In fact, I’ve fought alongside fifteen-year-olds who quaked less. If we’d had cowards like you in our ranks, the Revolution would have failed, and you’d be speaking with a British accent, which I must say in your case would be a vast improvement."

Abigael left Bastion and headed to the Human-Vampire Coalition hoping to have a normal life living with the humans. But as the tension between humans and vampires increases, she and her friends' lives are at risk. Her only choice is to go back to Bastion and to see Imogen, her creator, and Reece, the man she still loves.
Crimson Storm is the 2nd book of the Crimson Accord Series. Book 2 focuses on Abigael and her friends’ cross-country journey as they escape and run to the vampire sanctuary for their safety.
Shane is a human who has a thing for vampires. He helped Abigael and her friends escape until they reach Bastion. Lots of things happened in their journey and trust was built. Shane is an interesting additional character that will give spice to the story.
Seriously?! Is my reaction when I turned the page and saw Epilogue. Amy Patrick did it again. Left you wanting for more with urgency on jumping to the 3rd book. Amy Patrick wrote the story in a nice flow that will keep you from turning the page that you won’t realize that it is the last page. I’m giving this book 5 out of 5.
Book Cover: The petals look like it is drawn to the hand like Abigael who was drawn back to Imogen and Reece. Note that this is my interpretation only of how I see the book cover.
I will be reading Crimson Bond (#3) in 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.

Crimson Storm: A Young Adult Vampire Romance

What a great second book, to this series. Thank you, Amy Patrick! Lots of action for Abigail, her friends, humans and vampires. Reece, Abigail’s love, has given his life to Imogen, the leader of the vampires, who along with hundreds of vampires in hiding, are living in Virginia.
Abigail and her friends went to California, hoping to meet up with the head of the HVC, Sadie(Imogen’s sister). Sadie is for peace, between humans and vampires. Her sister wants a war, to eliminate all humans.
Abigail and her two friends were arrested and placed into a holding camp, with dozens of other, wrongly accused vampires. The camp was attached by human and Abigail and her friends were rescued. But, for all the wrong reasons. Things go very bad and Abigail and her friends, wind up back in Virginia.
Now Reece and Abigail must find Sadie and try to make a pact, between Sadie and Imogen. Without this pact, Imogen promises to put everyone’s lives in danger or eliminate them.
Now onto Crimson Bond!

The second book in Amy Patrick’s Crimson Accord Series certainly didn’t disappoint.

Abigail, Heather, and Kelly are trying to live their new lives as members of the peaceful Vampire-Human Coalition, but when they are arrested and sent to the Security Center, they have to rethink their plan of where to go. The VHC is attacked, and their leader, Sadie, isn’t responding to any messages or phone calls. Going back to the Bastion is very risky, not only because of Imogen banishing Abigail, but also due to the fact the three girls are fugitives wanted for murder. Another issue with going back to Bastion: Reece is there, Abigail’s love.

Following their journey across the country with their newfound friend, Shane, makes for a quickly moving story. I am certainly excited to read the third book and see what happens next with Abigail, Reece, Shane, and everyone else.

All around WOW

I started the book and was instantly pulled in. The story is fast paced, its so fast paced I didnt realize I was done and left on a pretty big cliffhanger! LOL! I really enjoyed this story and the events that played out went so smoothly and there is never a dull moment in this. Basically its one big adventure through the entire read. I was ready to go and then Bam "The End". Luckily book 3 is out soon! I love all the characters in this book and still love Reece but Abigail is a bit annoying. She is pretty blind to alot of things. But I guess it wouldn't be fun if she knew what would happen from her actions. Lol 🤣 This series is cool and its a different look on vampires. Its not like twilight, its in a league of its own! I look forward to book 3!

This book was so good!! I just finished it last night after spending most of my afternoon reading it, I just couldn't put it down. There's never a dull moment, I even found myself skipping ahead sometimes because lots of chapters end in suspense and I just couldn't wait to find out what happened! I truly enjoyed reading every second of it. Well, Shane did come on a bit strong sometimes there, but other than that: 10/10.

There was also a reunion that absolutely warmed my heart, that moment was just very wholesome and I couldn't stop smiling reading it. I'm super excited to get started on the next book in this series, I have a feeling it's going to be a wild ride.

Okay... well.. It was okay?? LOL. It was an easy read, but I felt like it was just one scene the whole time for some reason. I felt like we didn't really go anywhere and I still cant wrap my mind around how Shane is so.. okay with everything? I know there were suspicions raised towards him many times, but its like dude.. your uncle was killed, you were essentially kidnapped... and you're like.. okay with all of this??? LOOOOL. I mean, I guess.. Also Reece is like hella confusing but I guess.. it makes sense. He's a teenage boy /: It just kinda felt like a whole book filled with resistance, words left unsaid, and forced drama at times. I will read the next book to complete the series :)))

I honestly don’t know which book I loved more.. the first one, CRIMSON BORN, or this second one! Because OMG!!!! this one was INCREDIBLE!!! Fair warning, when you get towards the middle of the book, make sure you have a healthy snack to binge eat because if you don’t, you will be biting your nails from the suspense! ESPECIALLY when you get to the part where Abbi, Reece, and Shane are in the room together... and yes, there’s a Shane in this story and it’s super funny.. ESPECIALLY when he says “ you wanna mind your own business buddy?....” after a certain kiss happens...
Are you Intrigued yet?? believe me!!! YOU WILL WANT TO READ THIS BOOK!!!

The second book in this series starts off a year after book 1 ended. Abigail is on one heck of a journey with her friends Heather and Kelly. The trio are gambling their way of living to survive amid the growing tensions between vampires and humans. So many good things happen and I’m happy to see Abigail get some closure too. The trek the trio makes to Bastion has me on the edge of my seat. We meet a few other characters and I’m looking forward to see what happens to a few of them. I seriously cannot wait to see what happens next between Abigail and Reece! 💓

Loved this 2nd book in the Crimson Accords series as much as the first! Abbi is running for her life... Back to the place she swore to never return. She uses an unlikely ally along the way and questions her decision to return. Abbi knows she's doing the right thing, but with her new friendship, her feelings of love that never went away, and the uncertainty of how she will be received by the queen make Abbi nervous to go back.... If she even makes it there.

I don't even know where to begin. There is so much plot in this story. For me there was no build up because it started on page 1 and kept me at war with myself to hurry up and read so I'll know how everything shakes out already vs. slow down and enjoy it as long as I can! Amy Patrick just doesn't disappoint. This was definitely an edge of your seat read for me. I can't wait for book 3 to pick up where this one left off!

Just finished Crimson Storm I could not put it down and read it all in the first day. Only complaint is that its finished to soon!
I wish it had been longer. I definitely recommend reading this book and am looking forward to book 3 in the series.
Amy Patrick writes these books that are so easy to read she is such a good writer you feel you know the characters without going on and on.
Let the countdown begin until the end of March till the next book.

Love love love this series

This is a YA series but to me it is fantastic. I am 72 and this series is riveting! I like the fact there are no graphic sex scenes but it still has lots of twist and turns that keep you on your toes, I went ahead and purchased the entire series! I really like how each one turns out while it makes you want more and more to read. Get it and you won’t be sorry!!

I devoured this book. I really appreciate the flow of this book without being too heavy with world building. It’s just a fun read to escape into another world and ride out the adventure. I found the plot very interesting and am excited to dive into book 3! I’d give it 5 stars, but I really save those for the life altering books lol. Honestly though, I’ve got no complaints and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, quick read!

Each Crimson Accord book I fall more in love with the world & characters Amy has developed! This is such a different take on Vampires! It had me up late saying “just one more chapter” until I devoured it in a couple days! And I must say, I’m loving Shane. Is it wrong that I’m torn between him & Reece?! Ugh! I’m dying to know what happens next!

I’d like to give this book one star for the length and 5 stars for the content. I have a huge pet peeve when authors crank out short stories and call them books. I read book 1 & 2 in about 4 hours. Yes, they are captivating and well written but why not make one book? The characters are great and very descriptive and enjoyable.

Another great story

This is the perfect continuation to Abigail's story. She is thrown in jail for nothing other than being a vampire and almost killed. When she is broken out, she is kidnapped. She meets someone who helps her get back home where she and the new friend are not exactly welcomed, but the trip there is full of tension and funnies.

Another terrific adventure!

Amy is a master of the romantic triangle. She creates characters that makes the reader love both romantic male options. Of course, there's always a string leaf... but you really want only good things for the other one too! The struggle is real... and delightful.

This one might be the best of the series - or perhaps with book 3. Romance, yes, some tension, yes. Spice? no, it is clean.

The characters are nicely developed and we delve deeper into this world of vampirism. Yes, a good read for young teenagers.

A straightforward read, with yet more tension building.
