As someone who suffers from intolerance to pepper of any sort and with a daughter who suffers from IBS I was intrigued by the title of the book.
I have highlighted several parts already and it will be a file that I will revert to several times.
I would have liked to see the actual book as I think that these books are easier to have in hard copy as opposed to e books.

Thanks for the opportunity to see the sample copy.

This isn't a recipe book and it isn't full of recommendations with funny names that cost a fortune in the health food shops. It's a simple and practical guide to how your gut works and what types of food help it stay healthy. I learned from it although the book is quite basic. That isn't necessarily a criticism as the author has to assume a level of ignorance in the reader to set the tone of the book. The tone is just right for me - not preachy and not patronising - just the facts.

There are recipes and Ms Rossi does provide advice and some scientific data but basically this is about respecting how your gut works and stopping a lot of the issues developing.

The copy I was given by Netgalley had text repeats and some poor formatting but that doesn't impact the author's work as she would not have been responsible for preparing the ebook version. Recommended if you suffer from IBS or bloating or just want a better understanding of the enormous complex organ that is our gut.

This book is crammed with useful information about the gut, presented in an intentionally useable format. I listened to the audio, and I unfortunately had to go searching for the bonus pdf. If you are getting this on audio, make sure you have that pdf before you start! It really is crucial.
Ms. Rossi addresses many common ailments of the digestive system, and she presents practical solutions. I like her lifestyle-first approach to healing. Her style is pleasant and kept my interest. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is an excellent, evidence-based book on gut health with practical approaches on how to improve our gut health, self-manage some common gut symptoms with first-line advice and where to go if medical attention is required. This book (published 2019) is in line with current UK and international nutrition guidelines and current leading scientific evidence. I find it well written, with enough science to understand why gut health is important without the traditional jargon normally used to inflate an author’s ego or sell their own special ”diet”. It’s not one of those “diet books” that dictates special rules or tells you to exclude certain foods (which most of the fad diets insist are a “must” for eternal good health etc. Usual BS). The author is practicing dietitian in London (the only legally protected nutrition qualification in the UK) and holds a PhD in gut health (biomedical sciences). Reading this was a breath of fresh air in a literature field saturated with “nutrition-gurus” selling the latest detox juice-cleanse anti-cancer pseudoscience.

Edit: remember that this is a book, and therefor will not be the same as personalised nutrition care available between a dietitian and their patient/client. Individuals with diagnosed medical conditions should always seek out the appropriate medical professional or patient-centred care.

To support this review, I hold MSc degrees in Nutrition (qualified nutritionist) and Dietetics (registered dietitian), and currently work as a research dietitian. I don’t normally write reviews as I’m never expert in the field, but this is an area I can actually comment on. Hope it helps!

I’d been suffering from severe gut symptoms for years (BAM and IBS), I’ve been under investigation for Crohns in the last 3 years, and my consultant put me on a very restrictive low residue diet and 8 pills a day. This wasn’t something that sat right with me and so I thought I’d try this book whilst waiting for my dietician appointment (what’s £17 when you’ve spent tens of thousands on consultant fees?)

This genuinely changed my life- it firstly flipped upside down what my consultant told me to do and encouraged me to wave goodbye to the restrictive diet. I noticed results from a few days into eating the recipes and by two weeks my gut symptoms had settled completely.

When I spoke to dietician she highly recommended the guidelines from the book and with her encouragement I’ve been able to find what works for me.

My only criticism of the book is the back and forth to the website for the assessments - not the most reader friendly.

4.0 stars. Health/Wellness is my jam. Saw this book pop up and it grabbed my attention. The Gut/Brain connection and the fact that 70% of our immune system is in the gut fascinates me. I try to do my part as far as wellness, but could I up my game? Especially in this wacky run amok virus world we now live in. So I dove right in.

Dr. Megan Rossi makes this fact based evidence about all things related to digestive/gut health very easy to understand and interesting.

There are two parts: 1) Gut Health Guide (nutrition, complaints, intolerances, IBS), 2) Recipes. She talks about gut nutrition often, aiming for variety with an eventual goal of up to 30 different plant based foods a week.

I ordered the kindle version. There are several diagrams, quizzes, etc. that would've been easier with the soft cover book.

My only disappointment was in the recipes. As much she talks plant based, 95% of the recipes include, eggs, probiotic yogurt, dairy kefir, cheese. She's big on probiotic yogurt and kefir. Even a how to make your own. There's no mention on substitutions or if a plant based work around would be possible with each recipe.

But overall this book was interesting. Like how the author made it personable, as if you're having a conversation with her.

So I don't really have any gut issues (*knock on wood*) but this book was in Libby as one of those, "books you can borrow right now!" so I went for it. & I enjoyed it! Again, I skipped over the chapters dealing with gut-based health issues but I think the tips on how to eat for good gut health are applicable to anyone & the book was full of science presented in an easy to understand way & backed up by examples from her clients as well. Definitely going to try out a couple of the recipes from the back too!

Dr. Rossi has a passion for gut health, and it shows. I learned so much listening to this audiobook that I ordered the physical book so I can do the quizzes, see the recipes and go back through the things she discusses for various gut health issues, ways to manage them that I've never heard before, and things many doctors never consider. Misconceptions, ways to potentially heal or alleviate issues, exercises that help, the proper way to poop, and so much more is discussed. Overall very educational!

With ‘Love Your Gut,’ you will learn how to understand, nurture, and optimise your gut health in order to live a healthier life.

The hidden world of microorganisms within us, known as the gut microbiome, plays a crucial role in our overall health, influencing metabolism and even emotions. Understanding and nurturing this internal universe is essential, making the journey toward a healthier gut a cornerstone for a better quality of life.

In this review, we delve into Megan Rossi’s book, ‘Love Your Gut,’ which serves as a guide through this intricate terrain. Rossi, an expert in gut health, navigates readers through insights, strategies, and practical approaches to enhance gut health.

Author’s background

Megan Rossi, PhD, RD, known as the Gut Health Doctor, holds a prominent position as one of the globe’s foremost experts in gut health.

With ten years of experience as a registered dietitian and nutritionist, she possesses an acclaimed PhD in gut health, is acknowledged for her significant scientific contribution and is honoured with the dean’s award for exceptional research.

What is the book about?

In ‘Love Your Gut,’ readers are introduced to the intricate world of their gut microbiome. The book serves as a comprehensive resource for understanding, nurturing, and optimising one’s gut health. Megan Rossi emphasises that the path to overall health and well-being lies within our gut – the hub of our metabolism, immunity, and even mood regulation. Instead of promoting one-size-fits-all solutions, the author delves into the personalised nature of gut health, offering insights into what an individual’s gut truly requires.

With a blend of science, practical strategies, anecdotes, and delightful plant-focused recipes, the book guides readers through an interactive journey. The book includes 11 questionnaires to assess gut health, enabling readers to identify issues such as food intolerances, stagnant dietary choices, and more.

The book offers a comprehensive method for tackling typical gastrointestinal issues like IBS, bloating, constipation, heartburn, SIBO, and stress. Rossi introduces science-backed dietary techniques, targeted yoga routines for gut health, strategies for improving sleep habits, methods for bowel massage, and additional approaches. Ultimately, ‘Love Your Gut’ equips readers with a personalised action plan, fostering positive changes that are both meaningful and measurable in everyday life.

Three key takeaways from ‘Love Your Gut’

1. Take good care of your microbiome as it affects your body from head to toes

The book explains how the gut microbiome (GM) can impact not only gut health but also other distant organs like the brain. The communication between the GM and various organs is elaborated through three communication styles: the immune system, the nervous system, and the circulation system. These interactions depend on the urgency of the message.

Rossi advocates for GM care due to its impact on overall health as 70% of our immunity resides in the gut. The gut-brain axis is also a vital connection influencing mental health. The author cites studies that suggest that modifying GM through diet strategies outlined in the book could aid in managing conditions like depression.

2. Enjoy fibre and fermented foods for a flourishing gut microbiome

In the chapter dedicated to nutrition for gut health, the author reveals that the Western diet is detrimental to our microbiome due to its high-calorie, processed, low-fibre nature. Rossi introduces the concept of nourishing gut microbes, emphasising the importance of feeding them through dietary fibre and prebiotics. She also outlines the historical significance of fermented foods as they help enhance gut health and offer additional health advantages, such as reducing the chances of developing type two diabetes and cardiovascular disorders.

3. Sleep, move and manage stress to support gut health

The importance of addressing sleep, stress, and exercise for optimal gut health is highlighted beyond just dietary considerations. Acknowledging their significance for overall well-being, particularly their impact on gut microbiota (GM), is vital. Neglecting these areas can hinder the potential benefits of gut health.

The value of adequate sleep is often underestimated; disrupted sleep patterns can affect the natural rhythm of both human cells and GM. Studies indicate that even two days of sleep deprivation can impact GM, along with increased inflammation and stress hormones, leading to gut-related symptoms.

Stress plays a pivotal role in gut health. Strategies targeting the gut-brain axis have proven to be as effective as dietary approaches in managing gut symptoms, as seen in trials comparing various interventions. The vagus nerve, connecting the brain and gut, plays a crucial part in maintaining equilibrium.

Gentle movements also play a crucial role in gut health. Yoga that involves breathwork activates the ‘rest and digest’ system, while controlled breathing through positions helps individuals navigate discomfort. Gentle compression and stretching movements aid in calming muscle and nerve stimulation, with relaxation at the end of sequences potentially resetting the gut-brain axis. The author also cites a study that found that ‘…yoga had equal benefits to a low- FODMAP diet, with over 80 per cent of participants reporting significant.’

Strengths and weaknesses, according to readers’ reviews

Strengths:
• Offers a comprehensive exploration of gut health, providing valuable insights and information.
• Includes helpful flow charts that aid readers in identifying issues and deciding if professional help is needed.
• Contains a variety of recipes that aim to support gut health.

Weaknesses:
• Some readers may find the recipes daunting due to the high number of ingredients required, leading to potential concerns about cost and accessibility.

Best quotes from ‘Love Your Gut’

“Our digestive tract is the barrier between our body and the environment. This means that food doesn’t really get into our body until long after we’ve eaten it – after it has passed through our gut lining’s defense barrier and into our bloodstream. If you think about it, this is a huge responsibility for our gut, and it explains why it’s equipped with an incredible 70 percent of our body’s immune cells.”

“Our pancreas is another organ that feeds into our small intestine. It acts like a busy factory, producing enzymes, which help digest our food, and hormones, which help control how much sugar is in our blood.”

“Similarly, although not all yogurts contain significant amounts of live microbes, yogurt has been linked with more pronounced health benefits in large studies, including weight management, compared to unfermented dairy products such as milk.”

Final takeaway

‘Love Your Gut’ by Megan Rossi presents an extensive and personalised exploration of gut health, delving into its impact on overall well-being. With a blend of science, practical strategies, anecdotes, and delightful plant-focused recipes, the book guides readers through an interactive journey to understand, nurture, and optimise their gut microbiome. Rossi’s emphasis on the gut-brain connection, the significance of dietary diversity, and the role of yoga in gut health are noteworthy.

The book serves as a valuable resource for those seeking a holistic approach to improving their digestive health, particularly those intrigued by personalised dietary and lifestyle interventions.

I chose this book because I have a keen interest in healthy eating. I'm not a major healthy eater (I'm the wrong size and shape for that) but I try to make good food choices, I like cooking from scratch, and i'm interested in the science of food. 'Eat yourself healthy' also appealed to me as it didn't come across as a standard diet and weight loss book, this seemed to just be focusing more on the whole health of your body.
This is a really informative book, Megan Rossi knows her stuff and relays that information in a straight forward and understandable way. The book is also interactive, as you can follow links (if you have the e-book version, hardcopy readers will just have to do it the old fashioned way and type in the web address) to take different types of self assessments. So you can learn where you are within mind and body at the moment of reading, and take re-assessments along the way to track your journey.
Of course this wouldn't be a complete healthy eating book if it didn't contain some recipes, so of course it does. There are some 'interesting' recipes within, not all to my taste, and some contain ingredients way beyond my standard shopping list but they could be worth a try. (The sautéed Brussel sprouts and tenderstem broccoli with pesto and wild rice sounds tempting)
My top take away from 'Eat yourself healthy' is the suggestion for gut goodness bowls. Rossi provides you with various ingredients divided into columns like 'Fibre Base' 'Fermented Flavours' 'Healthy fats' and 'Dress and Coat'. You then essentially mix and match ingredients from these columns to create your own gut goodness bowl. I think its a great idea, you know you're making healthy choices, and with just a few ingredients you can create a whole variety of different choices.
On the whole 'Eat Yourself Healthy' is a useful and informative book, not exactly ground-breaking in the science and diet department but still a great source of information.

I hadn't thought about my gut health ever until earlier this year when someone advised me to have a detox. So this book caught my eye.

Unfortunately the review copy I received wasn't easy to read on the Kindle as paragraphs seemed to be overlaid. Also, only a short part of the book was available for review so I have seen only very few recipes, so I couldn't really comment on that aspect of the book.

Having said that, I found Megan Rossi's information about the gut and gut health very interesting. I had no idea that the gut has an impact on mental health or that even identical twins have their own unique gut microbiota which can help to explain why different people react so differently to different medicines. It was also interesting to learn that for 15-20% of the population just adding more prebiotics to the diet can actually trigger gut symptoms.

So yes, the book will make me think about what I eat but I don't feel I have enough information really to comment on the diet which is recommended. It does seem to take a holistic approach and also consider the impact of sleep and stress on the functioning of the body.

The book contains links to Megan Rossi's website where there are gut health assessments, but I have not been able to try them as there is a password linked to the book, which wasn't included in the sections available to me. But these are presumably a good place for the reader to start.

I suspect there is a lot I could learn from the book about caring more for my gut, however in my case, having only seen a part of the book, the jury remains out.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to see an advance review copy.

I really wanted to read this book, because the description sounded like something that I was struggling with and I thought this book could help me out. But I was so disappointed with the digital copy of the book that I received. The font, and the text was mixed up everywhere, paragraphs were repeated, there were no page numbers, the links wouldn't work, because you had to enter a password which refers to a certain page number in the book, the pictures and the text were all around the place - in a nutshell, the digital copy that I received from the publishers on my kindle, was absolutely unreadable. I don't even know if the complete content of the book was present in the digital copy that I downloaded, because it seemed like a really short book, with no content.

I will give this book 1 star, purely on the basis of the terrible quality of the digital copy that I received.

A book about gut everything..or is it everything?

When I spend money on a book on nutrition, the minimum hope is to learn something that I haven't already came across on the internet. Unfortunately this read more like a textbook of gut facts from WebMD/Mayo Clinic, with a bunch of colourful images. The quizzes are definitely a nice touch, but if you're having stomach pain after eating, most likely you're having some sort of reaction. I didn't need a quiz to figure that out. The recipes at the end of the book got me excited but the amount of sweetener recommended to add got me suspicious. The book very closely leans towards pushing for a vegetarian/vegan diet, yet sugar is ok? Hmm..

In Love Your Gut, registered dietician Megan Rossi provides a very simple explanation of how your gut and its microbiome work. She then offers guidance on identifying and treating various gut problems, such as constipation, bloating, acid reflux, IBS, and food intolerances. The book functions somewhat like a workbook, with numerous assessments, flow charts, and worksheets to help you design your own plan for improving your gut health. Because of these features, I think this book will work better as a paperback than an ebook.

I appreciated the chapters on sleep, stress, and exercise. Dr. Rossi includes a series of yoga exercises that I’ve found helpful, as well as suggestions for strengthening the pelvic floor and giving yourself an abdominal massage.

Almost a third of the book consists of high-fiber, plant-powered recipes that the author describes as offering flexibility for “intolerances, time limitations, space constraints, budgets, [and] cooking skills.” I tried a good sampling of the recipes and was happy with their flexibility, healthiness, and flavor. Some of the recipes looked very easy, and some were more challenging, but they did seem clearly written with helpful tips. All of the recipes feature a diversity of plant foods and can be made vegetarian; most could be made vegan. Many of the recipes include gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, or nightshades, but they are usually still workable with her suggested substitutions or omissions for those with allergies or intolerances.

The Quinoa Sushi Rolls were excellent and will become part of my regular recipe rotation. I was delighted by the recipe templates, such as Mix-and-Match Porridge, Mix-and-Match Sliders, and Good Gut Bowls, that offer different choices for each category of ingredients. This is a great way to use up leftovers, and if you’re feeding a group, it allows each person to customize their meal. Recipes such as Fermented Overnight Oats and Microwave Popcorn are easy to assemble and offer a choice of toppings.

Most of the recipes include photographs on a separate page, but I was disappointed that the book doesn’t include nutritional data. Some recipes include ingredients that may be unfamiliar and difficult to find, such as freekeh, banana flour, and gelatin sheets, but most recipes can be made with more widely available ingredients. Some recipes require a food processor. The recipes were originally written for publication in the UK, and measurements aren’t always easy to accommodate in the USA without a food scale; as an example, I wasn’t sure how to measure 5 ounces (150 grams) of sweet potato, or 1.5 ounces (40 grams) of oats.

The book also includes information about and recipes for fermenting and sprouting.

If you’re looking for healthy new recipes to add more variety to your diet, this is worth trying. Although much of this content will likely be review if you’ve read much on the subject, this is a good book if you’re experiencing unpleasant gut symptoms and want an individualized plan for improving your gut health. You might still need to work with a gastroenterologist and/or a dietician, but this is a good place to start. I also recommend The Bloated Belly Whisperer by Tamara Duker Freuman.

I was provided an unproofed ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.

Originally published on my blog: Nonstop Reader.

Love Your Gut is a tutorial and lifestyle guide by Dr. Megan Rossi. Due out 2nd Feb 2021 from The Experiment, it's 320 pages and will be available in paperback, audio, and ebook formats.

There's been a lot of focus in the media the last few years on gastrointestinal research and the fascinating things we're learning about how our GI tract affects and informs our overall health. This book is an accessible, science based look at how to interpret our GI health and make improvements which can pay dividends in emotional health, well being, and everything from brain fuction, weight control, metabolic function, immune system, hormonal balances and more.

The author has an easy to understand style of writing and although she does discuss some of the bio-science and physiology involved, I don't imagine it'll be beyond the scope of the average layperson. The book has a lot of charts and quizzes to fill out to analyze the reader's current gut biome and general gut health as well as a lot of suggestions for improvement.

The second part of the book contains a number of recipes to help improve the reader's diet and hopefully support and increase gut biome diversity and health. The recipes are arranged thematically: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts as well as a capsule survey of fermented foods (including a good beginner-usable recipe for kimchi, one of my absolute favorite things in the world). The recipes have ingredients listed bullet style in the sidebar. Ingredient measures are given in American standard with metric measures in parentheses (yay!), followed by step-by-step instructions. Tips and variations are included at the end of the recipes. Recipe ingredients are mostly easily found at any well stocked grocery store, but some (gochugaru Korean ground smoked pepper, kefir, and a few others) might require a specialist grocery or online purchase.

The photography is clear and attractively done. Tutorial photos are easy to follow. Serving suggestions and food styling are attractive and appropriate.

This is a very well written book full of solid information. It would make a superlative selection for readers looking for sensible science based diet and lifestyle information. The book and the writing are blissfully free from faddish outlandish pseudoscience.

Five stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes

Overall, this was a really great book. I like how it discussed not only diet, but also the importance of sleep, stress, and exercise. Gut health is affected by so many different factors and Megan really dives into these issues one by one.

I thought it was really laid out in a format that was understandable for the beginner. I would have loved more details, but it was easily readable and I enjoyed the author's writing and personality. She indicates foods that promote gut health, but she also acknowledges that as individuals, this varies quite a bit from person to person. However, she does have multiple quizzes to help the reader get an idea if they may be dealing with other issues that may require tweaking the typical gut promoting diet or adjusting other lifestyle factors. I enjoyed the fact that when addressing her patients issues, she also discussed the issues or challenges they may have had and how they overcame them. One of my biggest pet peeves is when authors tell of this patient struggling with issues that follows their protocol and are cured. That is not real life. Some of Megan's patients did backslide or forget, and were actually able to learn from these experiences. I especially enjoyed the story of one patient who believed she wasn't overly stressed, but after targeting when her gut issues were occurring, she realized she was extremely stressed but internalizing and not addressing or acknowledging this stress. Megan details various ways that the reader can track their experiences in order to later draw conclusions on what is going on with their body. Everyone is unique and each of our guts are as well. She laid out some very helpful tools in how to navigate the issues we may face though. The recipes at the end of the book really sounded delicious as well!

This book directed me to start working with a dietician. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 5 years ago and I have been having ongoing symptoms ever since even with following a strict gluten free diet.

I tried working with other healthcare providers who told me to go on elimination diets and told me I had food intolerances when I in fact did not.

I learned that this restrictive diet over the years not only messed with my gut microbiota but also my mental health as well.

This book is full of great information on all things gut health. Megan really explains how the gut works in a way anyone could understand. There are also great recipes in her book as well!

Thank you for writing this book as I feel you have saved my mental and physical state. Not only that, but you encouraged me through this book to start working with a dietitian and this has forever changed my life. I'm finally starting to feel like myself before I was diagnosed with celiac disease. Thank you, and I can't wait to read your second book.

What an interesting and informative book. I hadn’t realised how helpful it would be to read about the science of the gut. It’s all here: how it works, common problems and their possible causes, and realistic, practical ways to help us help ourselves! Common sense, science-backed actions which are achievable. I don’t think I’ll make many of the recipes (they’re a small part of the book anyway) as I don’t have enough energy for the effort required (chronic illness), but they seem manageable for most folks. However, within the recipe section are ‘mix and match’ pages for breakfasts, lunches and dinners and these I will be able to use to provide variety. An easy read despite all the technical bits, I found myself reading the whole lot instead of just flicking through the most relevant parts. Highly recommended.

Plus: I have learned several things that will help me with my gut.
Minuses:
- She should stay in her lane. I don't see any reference to her fitness credentials. Just as fitness professionals should not recommend diets, dieticians should not recommend exercise. She either needed to cite a really strong studies that linked her recommendations to gut health or bring in a fitness professional to vet her work. As a result her fitness recommendations are generic and not explicitly linked to gut health.
- She is not always particularly practical for real life. Most of the recipes and diet recommendations are very fiddly . In her blind test for wheat, she recommends a slice of gluten free bread vs a standard wheat bread. How is this possibly going to be blind? Gluten free bread has a very different texture than wheat bread.

I am so looking forward to obtaining a physical copy as this was very helpful for me. As someone who has longtime gut issues, with frustrating food intolerances (soy and gluten), I learned so much. There is so much practical, well-researched advice, Dr. Rossi is a well-recognized dietitian and nutritionist, on your gut rather than the whole "Just take probiotics", which is important, but rather simple. Not only does this book have recipes, which I tried all and noticed a huge difference, but there are also physical strategies to learn (i.e. yoga movements for bowel). The moral is that HEALTH and HAPPINESS is the Number One Priority!
Big thanks to The Experiment and NetGalley for the ARC for an Honest Review.

Full of sensible recommendations. Large parts of it weren't super relevant to me as they were aimed at people with food intolerances and IBS, rather than just your average person looking to have a healthier gut. I really like that the recipes include a range of ingredients which benefit the gut in different ways such as prebiotics, probiotics and fibre. Some of the ingredients are a bit obscure but others are reasonable. Will report back on how well they turn out once I've got round to making a few.

I enjoyed reading this book so much. I loved Megan Rossi's style and approach to gut health. I found so much useful information in this book, what the current evidence says, how does the gut work and how to keep it healthy.

Megan Rossi is an excellent researcher, I loved her approach that felt so empathetic with people that have had some sort of gut issue.

I found very useful the strategies recommended in order to recover from gut issues, and how to properly maintain our microbiota and the connection between a healthy microbiota and our own well-being.

I found it an interesting book. I think it's more a book to dip in and out of rather than read cover to cover. The first section reads a bit like a textbook which I didn't mind but might put some people off. Some helpful advice for anyone suffering from gut issues or someone who wants a better understanding of how gut health. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes though some of them look too complicated and time consuming!

This is a book to keep in your personal library. It explains the science of what's going on when you eat food--the whole process--from food coming in, to nourish our bodies, to digestion, to utilizing the nutrition, to expelling the waste. Everything is explained conversationally and thoroughly. It very much helps with making better food choices, by understanding the whole process. The book also includes menus!

I loved this book. I’ve noticed many reviews from people who are looking to “eat healthy”, that’s not what this book is. It’s geared towards people with GI disease/dysfunction using a wholistic approach. Not that there’s not good information in here for everyone but I’m not sure it lands the same way.
